OMG Joanna, you ARE a super woman and I'm totally impressed with your organizational skills and knowledge. SO impressed. I too am a soap hoarder and save almost every scrap to be used at a later date. Thank you SO much for doing these videos. I am learning so much from you. Have an amazing week.
Looks like Wednesdays and Sundays just got better for me. LOL I love when I get a notice that you have a new video up. You have inspired me so much that I made my first batch of soap last night. I made two loaves and a batch of cupcakes. Thank you so much for all the inspiration
I can't thank you enough for sharing your personal touches. I feel like your a beautiful soul after watching your story! ❤️ absolutely in your following family!
Ok, you are my new soaping hero! I have been soaping and selling for 10 plus years and have always had bad luck with trying goat milk soap. After watching your videos closely I have just made my first successful batch of goats milk soap and it came out perfect. Thank you!
For screen recording I recommend iSpring (it works on Windows and possibly mac?) You can easily choose the region of the screen you want to record, and there is no watermark or time limit on the video despite it being 100 percent free. I use it all the time
With my RUclips soap channel it’s still new too I am up to 1400 subs so I am still learning too. I would suggest the RODE mic brand. For your mic. You can get them for phones if you are videoing with your phone or you can get them for your DSLR camera if you are filming with that. Keep growing your channel! Love your videos!
I know this is a little old....but OBS or OBS Studio is a free recording and streaming program that goes on your computer. It takes a little bit to set up, but its very customizable. So you can record your info on SoapMaker or even live stream soap making on whatever site you want to use.
Hi Joanna! I use a program called Snagit Editor for my screen captures at work (my unfun day job). Thank you for these amazing videos! You've become my new favorite RUclips Soaper!!!
I’m impressed by all of this, knowledge, generosity to share....... plus, your space doesn’t look huge, so you are very well organised to manage all you do. I’m interested in mic/camera/editing too - I’m struggling to make videos I’m pleased with over on my little channel. Thank you for yours - I’m no soap maker, but I came here from Royalty Soap and I’m really enjoying your style and content xxxxx
Joanna, you totally are super woman! I agree with the commenter/fan below as well. I like your attitude of giving that little extra. I know how I feel when my suppliers do the same for me, it is always such a nice touch. It is also so very pleasing when I get a personal note as well. Thank you for sharing your successful methods with us, greatly appreciate your time and energy! :-)
I think you mentioned screen recording, if so and if you have powerpoint, I use their screen recording option. There are apps for sure, but I like using the free options first! Let me know if you have questions about it.
First: great videos. Very informative and useful. Needless to say but your lab is primo.... Second: It would be of help to give links and where to purchase to the various products used in the videos, such as the cutter, beveler, etc.
I use these lights amzn.to/2IRusub I have two of them but I'm still working on lighting as my shots are often over done. They do bring in the colour better. I LOVE my Snowball Blue microphone amzn.to/2W3ExrG. Candy grams! Cute thank you addition for your customers. 🌷 Jen
Joanna, may I ask why you are not using the batch number from Soapmaker 3? I have just purchased it. I am trying to leverage most of the features so I am wondering if you have knowledge that I do not regarding batch numbers! 😉
Snagit is a great screen capture program for making vids. I believe the company has a free trial on it... watch some youtube vids on it and see if it might be right for you... and it gives you a idea on how to use it. Rodes microphones are amazing (I only know the microphone bit from watching vids by pros on it. ) I don't know anything about lighting. I am a pretty new soaper. I spent a year or 2 watching soaping vids... what I love about it (other than making the soap... because it is soooo much fun!) You can start on a really small scale... you don't need to go into debt and it is scaleable on this level. You will get a kick out of this... I found some art brush storage containers at dollarama for $2... they are 3.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep... 11.5 inches long. I line them with freezer paper. I am on a limited budget so you figure out stuff you can do without and put money into things like fragrances and shea. I have my niche all worked out. BUT this candle making stuff I do not know enough about. Can you recommend a tutorial please?
BTW on all of your vids you should have a link for people to purchase your soaps from.... in the comments. It might take some time to build up online sales... but they sell at FULL retail value online. Affiliate links are also acceptable for products you mention. After all people do not pay more for the products mentioned.
You'll know you're ready to shrink wrap when you've weighed your bars for at 2-3 days and have gotten consistent weights. I recommend weighing them for 2-3 days after your initial 48 hours. Depending on your recipe, if it's in higher in water you will want to wait longer. But I'd say no sooner than 72 hours.
do you charge your wholesale and private labelers the whole shipping cost. do you put any soap labeling on the private label bars. also what type of instructions do you give private labelers in terms of cure time. thank you for your reply.
I love you and your husband’s soul. So genuine and generous with your knowledge ❤
I LOVE this! It is like a throwback to where you were, and it gives me encouragement to see where you are from this video to your more recent ones.
Thanks for sharing. Not many are willing to.

Love watching you! So much good info. I am binge watching during our snow store. Can’t wait to try to make soap. Thank you for sharing.
Some persons complain that you can’t smell the soap when it’s wrapped in shrink wrap.
Those cutters are worth their weight in GOLD! I own one and LOVE it!
Ok, you are my new soaping hero! I have been soaping and selling for 10 plus years and have always had bad luck with trying goat milk soap. After watching your videos closely I have just made my first successful batch of goats milk soap and it came out perfect. Thank you!

Thank you fellow soap hoarder for another fantastically educational video!
Thank you. I enjoy your channel and business acumen
I use cigar bands and shrink wrap over them with smell through shrink wrap. I'm small time though (and want to stay that way) :)
For screen recording I recommend iSpring (it works on Windows and possibly mac?) You can easily choose the region of the screen you want to record, and there is no watermark or time limit on the video despite it being 100 percent free. I use it all the time

Hello ma'am joanah want to know how it bubbles?? Even you dont have to put bubbles in your ingredients 😊
The bubbles are created from the soap during the saponification process!
