Love your hair!!! It complements your face. I have tried the 50/50 blend twice in the last week. I was nervous that I was going to mess up…I was confused at first but I watched all of your videos about it over and over again. Thanks for sharing and explaining things in details
I got this to play around with bc I haven’t soaped in a while. Pretty cool, but I really enjoy formulating my own recipes. But I think this is awesome for beginners!
I have been making soap for 5 years and do not know why i have not come across your channel but i am here and ❤ it. Enjoying your transparency about the soap world and genuine personality. Love what Michelle is doing with the branding 🎉, the color palette is beautiful. Would enjoy a video on packaging. Thank you for all the knowledge you share.
Thank you for this video!! I bought the kit a few months ago and I wish I found this video before I made my first cold process soap. You’ve explained in more detail than the directions in the kit. You are very thoughtful and generous with sharing your soap making passion!! Thanks again !!! 💕
Hello! Sounds like a great kit and easy to follow for beginners. Thank you for the video and great encouragement. Have a bless Friday evening! Stay safe and happy soaping.🙏✝️❤️👍🤗💪👌
Ms. Joanna, I have only one thing to say, "Hobby Lobby Here I come."🛍🥰💞💖🛍🥰 This is just what I needed to see. I'll use the kit for the first three times. THEN....I'll try measuring my own ingredients.
You got this!!! Enjoy the process and when you're ready to graduate into formulating be sure to check out this video where I talk about formulating using 50/50 lye! ruclips.net/video/m2QggVtSHFc/видео.html&lc=UgyP1skhIrK_7R_QShF4AaABAg
First - your hair looks fantastic!!! I love the color.👍It looks wonderful on you. Second, I would love an overhead camera to get a bird's eye view of the process. It would be easier to see trace in the container. Third, I love the background and set design. You are a terrific teacher and the new format is A Plus!!! Thank you for sharing like you do.
New subscriber! 🎉 I’ve been binging on your videos. I think this is a nice kit but I wish to start without palm. How can I have small batches with your older recipes? Do you have videos for beginners?
Hi there! I do have a variety of soap making videos on my soap making playlist here. Most of my videos are larger scale so I apologize that I don't have a super beginner recipe other than this makesy recipe. ruclips.net/p/PL8qo6ELMimtfd4Rvs0QZOVtLrNbsThJuh
Hello Ms. Joanna! I just discovered you and all I have to say is WOW! I actually saw the Makesy kit in HL a few months ago but was reluctant to purchase it because I've never made soap before, only melt and pour shampoo bars which I'm still experimenting with. But after watching you use this kit, I've decided to get it and start making soap. Your such a Beautiful Lady and seeing your love for soap making has given me the encouragement to step in too the soap world! I'm wanting to attempt a fall scent and had a couple of questions. I came across Pumpkin Powder, it sounds interesting. Can I add this to the soap mixture and if so how much do you recommend? Will it help add a light pumpkin color to the soap or will I need to add some mica to help it be more pumpkiny in color? I would love to sprinkle something on top like you did the lavender buds in this video. Any recommendations what I could add to the top for a Fall themed soap? All I can think of is a little oatmeal, but wondered what else I could use? I may try to attempt dividing the batter and doing half pumpkin color and half green (using the French clay if that would work???) and alternately pouring into the mold. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions that you or your Sud Squad could offer! I'm subscribing to your channel and can't wait to watch more of your videos!
You are a delight to watch! I have already made two loaves and love them. 🎉So thank you so much! 🫶🏻I was wondering how to calculate the percent of FO we are using? I am new and I’m trying to learn more than just following the directions. I’d like to actually understand why 1oz in this batch if that makes sense? Maybe sometimes scent may need a little more or less dependent on its strength. Thank you for your passion for your craft. It shines through. 🥰
Great question! We use the skin safe percentage FO load as marked by whatever essential oil or fragrance you are using. For example, makesy has this listed on their website under more information. It's listed as a % of the total formula. Once you know your total formula amounts for oils, water, and lye you can calculate how much of your specific fragrance. Does that make sense?
First, I love your passion for teaching others to formulate soap. I pray that the Most High God continues to advance your business and gives you supernatural favor! I enjoy cold-process soap making and love the simplicity of the 50/50 lye water solution and the trinity oil blend. I'm ready to customize with skin-nourishing additives. I noticed in the video clip that you added French clay to the water; I would like to add Brazilian yellow clay, but instead of water, I'm using aloe vera juice. I also wanted to add chamomile and oat powder. Should I add a trace, or should I add it to my melted trinity oil blend?
You can add it all additives and additional liquid to the oils mix then add lye solution, mix to light trace, then fragrance mix and air in any exfoliate you don’t want to chop that up. Hope that helps!!
Hola...nos enseñaras a hacer otras fórmulas? Con la lejia 50/50 que nos a quedado del kit ( compre 4🤭) y adicional una garrafa de la mezcla de aceites😊
Hola. Es un placer verte trabajar el jabón. Quería preguntarte qué calculadora usas para saber cuánto aceite/mantecas usar y cuánta lejía 50/50,añadir. Un saludo y gracias ❤
Great Video! Could I use this exact recipe, but with 2lb of the Trinity Blend instead? Here’s the ingredient list: - 2lb Trinity Blend - 1.5lb 50/50 Lye Solution - .33oz Essential/Fragrance Oil - 0.2oz Mica Would this work?
@@TheSoapGal No, I was wondering if you could fill in the blanks for this the Trinity Blend & Lye that I’ve added below: ~ 2lb Trinity Blend ~ 1.5lb Lye Solution ~ _____ Essential Oils ~ _____ Colourants ~ _____ Add Ons How much would I add in each for a 3lb Mold
@@TheSoapGal I purchased the 2lb container of the trinity blend from Hobby Lobby as well I need to know how much Lye I need to make soap with the 2lb of oil
One time I messed up my measuring (I added too much of one of my oils), so I adjusted everything to make a double batch. After bringing it to trace I divided it back into single batches before adding mica and scents. LOL 🤦🏼♀️
Thanks for sharing! Yes! I know the feeling :) But ya mess up once and ya just keep on making soap and before you know it, it's exactly how you want it.
Hi I love your education style so fo my batch of soap I think I used to much oil as when I got ready to unfold my soap was pretty but very soft and the lather was not good please help me
My team voted on the ingredients for the bubble factory soaps. It was their choice for palm oil free! Sustainable palm oil is an excellent moisturizing oil with great lather properties.
This kit is at hobby lobby exclusively but Makesy does offer a more comprehensive kit available on their website here: makesy.com/products/cold-process-soap-starter-kit?variant=42745113280666
Why would the kit not come with the correct amout of lye solution? Also the lye bottles don't state ounces, just 0.9 lbs/0.4 kg. As you demonstrated... this could cause big mistakes in the recipe!!!

Yes you can! I recommend using Soap Maker 3 software.

You've got this! If you haven't gotten Soap Maker 3 software I recommend getting that to help formulate your recipes. It changes everything!
How do we formulate CP soap with the trinity oil blend not knowing the percentage of each oil in the blend?
You can reference this recipe here! makesy.com/blogs/news/how-to-make-cold-process-soap?_pos=1&_sid=c3003576b&_ss=r
That does not help formulate.. Aside from a recipe... 33% each.. We would love to know.. So we can incorporate it properly.
I used 50 /50 lye my coconut soap
4 Days After I checked my ph .
ph colour purple (12) is ok?
Hi there! Anything above 11 can be too harsh on skin. I would give it a few more days as you want the PH between 8-10
You are so awesome 👍🏽🩷
You are so sweet! Thank you for the kind words and encouragement.

Could you use this kit to do hot process soap?
No this purely for cold process only!
How many soaps does this kit makes?
It makes one 3lb block mold :) Amount of bars will vary based on how small or large you want to cut your bars!
What is the link to the kit? I want to get the kit and make one.
I think it might be on the Hobby Lobby website. I know I saw it in person in my local Hobby Lobby store.
I was wondering the same. Hobby Lobby does not have it on their website or in my local store.
@vidadulce I'm sorry. I know mine does, but maybe not all of them do yet. That's unfortunate. Maybe thesoapgal has a link.

We agree and that is part of the reason why I did this video. Makesy is aware of the feedback so hopefully they are working on it.
Makes is such a rip off…..you can sources lower cost at your local grocery store, dollar store, and amazon …..don’t give your money to these people.
Hi Heather! I acknowledge makesy is expensive. They have great starter kit tools though for anyone serious about learning!
