I love the themes of his music. He’s the ONLY virtuoso that doesn’t overdo anything. Every note seems intentional and the melody is strong enough to be sang over the rhythm. Everything is fuckin epic hero music.

I am a brand new fan of Joe Satriani! Where have you been all my life. LOVE THIS MUSIC!!! Its like just when you think you are there, Joe says, "Oh no babe, we are only half way there".. Shivers!
What an incredible genius. I've listened to him since Surfing but have never heard him play "Always with me, Always with you" like that! Truly incredible!
"Always with me, Always with you" is, without question, totally brilliant. This live version is great, but the 2006 concert does exceed it somewhat: ruclips.net/video/BsJisD7n8_Q/видео.html Sure, my opinion - compare for yourself ☺
One of my all time faves. And seeing Joe, Stuart Hamm, & drummer Jeff Campitelli as a 3-piece live in the early 90's was a personal list top 10 all time best concerts ever! Smokin'!!!!
Man I really would have liked to seen that! Only thing I can think of comparable or two concerts back in the day near San diego, one in 97 Steve Morris at some casino theater the Steve Morris band f****** incredible! And then in 2003, Humphreys by the Bay outdoor theater right near the water man in San diego! Eric johnson! And Derek trucks band was opening for them it was absolutely insane.. I was blown away by this albino slide player and then Eric made us wait even longer obsessing over his batteries and pedals and s***.. finally he came out and everyone was like damn dude you can make us wait as long as you want coming out like that..
I by chancecame across a blank home recorded tape on the bus seat Side 1 was surfing with the alien and the oother was Cult- Electric. I was 4 years in self taught and sounded like ugh! but Satriani had wicked eastern flavoured runs and quickly was my maj influence even to this day. He was even one of my marital contracts. We were to go see him over in Perth 2007 on our honeymoon lol and rather than disappoint myself Id get the sound of the run and just try and blister my own patternsd or climb. Now playing for42 years feel quite adept. Iv seen and met alot of the elite shredders Satch, Vai, Gilbert, Malmsteen, friedman, scholnik, guthrie govan, nuno beten etc I still found Satch the most impressive. Its his attitude he's just so humble no better no worse than the human he's talking to. freakd me out 1st time he's not very tall at all but still larger than life, Malmsteen proves you dont need crazy long rake hands as he has handful of thumbs, Gilberts thumb is even crazy long, Vai 's freakish but still uses a fan on cold nights Govan always cruising for a cone but George Lynch 3 times now crazy friendly walk with ya let you take him to any little music shops you know and leads you to shops never knew existed
EU TIVE A HONRA DE IR NO SHOW DO SATRIANI EM 2008. TIVE QUE PEGAR CERCA DE 450 KM DE ESTRADA POIS EU SOU DO INTERIOR DE SP E O SHOW FOI NA CAPITAL!!! FOI INESQUECÍVEL PARA MIM !!! CONGRATULATIONS FROM BRASIL !!
I have been a huge fan since the first time I heard him , Joe just keeps getting better and this is definitely one of his best nights. Wow Joe is the MAN if someone can do better I would love to feel it just incredible!
Lots and Lots of Great guitarists out there. However, if there is ONE Guitarist that I look up to and wish to emulate, it's Joe Satriani! Thanks for the Music Satch!
I managed to catch Satriani when he had hair with Stu when they were a lot younger and it was an amazing experience. I wasnt even a fan - a friend dragged me there and it changed the way I saw music
Well done, Joe & his band has never failed his fans. Ever since buying the vinyl of Surfing I have always appreciated his guitaring skills. Thank You for posting.
Stu rocking like Les Claypool, kinda. He’s Awesome!! Since Not of this Earth I’ve come to the realization that Joe is most definitely one in a Billion!!!
There's a guy who goes by the name of Steve Vai or some such name. He may not be very popular, but he claims to be this guys student, and knows how to pose well with guitar. I think he can pose like Satch for sure.

Steve Vai makes the guitar talk, he Joe makes the guitar sing. Both were born to pick guitar strings. Absolute purpose for life...living.

Joe has always been my favorite because I like feeling in the licks, and nobody feels the guitar like Mr. Satriani. He's the best
