LOL I love your Metallica reactions!! :) Try "Whiplash" on the same album. This is earlier Metallica.....a little more raw and wild. Bad AF though. Nice choice :) Now you can see why we all went NUTS when they first came out!!
Tomorrow is the 35th anniversary of Kill Em All also. He should react to the whole album or something, even though at this point he already listened to most of the songs.
Don’t be mad you didn’t find them sooner, you got it now. Seeing you hear it for the first time, takes me back to when I heard it the first time. It’s awesome for both of us.
Fun Fact for you: Dave Mustaine, who is the frontman and founder of Megadeth, whom you have already heard with Holy Wars, was in Metallica and actually was the one who wrote this song, minus the interlude in the middle. The original is called Mechanix, and it is in their debut album, which was just recently remastered and re-released. You should it check it out, it's faster than this version.
xXAscendingPhoenixXx it’s faster...but the middle section (which to me is the best part), lyrics, and the slower pace of the four horsemen makes it better than The Mechanix to me...just my opinion.
In fact Mustaine also wrote the part in the middle that is missing on the Mechanix. I heard an interview where he even says that he based that middle riff on Sweet Home Alabama... and it's true that it's almost exactly it! EDIT: he said it again in this interview: ruclips.net/video/5mdwxz8LRno/видео.html
jedgreen I was talking about the riffs on the “Time has taken its toll on you” part. Plus the solo (which is Kirk’s) is the best part of the melodic part. Without that solo that Sweet Home Alabama part would have fucked the song haha
Also fun fact : Mechanix is also (still wrote by Dave) on Metallica's demo "No Life 'til Leather", where James sings it. Slower than Megadeth's Mechanix, it's also (at least from what I feel hearing it) a bit faster than Metallica's Four Horsemen. Don't know for you, but I find it... funny.
This is my new favorite channel. I was 11 when this came out. I happened to hear 'Whiplash' on my local college rock radio station and I was hooked. I immediately called the station and requested them to play it again. They were like nothing else I've ever heard at the time. I will ALWAYS have a huge respect for Metallica. They were pioneers. More talented musically than virtually everybody else on the scene, wrote better songs than virtually everybody else on the scene, and they just seemed COOLER than pretty much everybody else. No pretense, nothing fake about them.

Now you know why metal fans hate when some call it noise. If it was easy anyone could do it.I love your video's. Keep up with your guitar. Take lessons if you are serious. Your fingers will hurt lots. Just sayin'.
This song was written by Dave Mustane from Megadeth. He wrote this when he was with Metallica, and after he was kicked out... released it on his first album as a song called Mechanix. He plays it even faster than this version. Dave helped to create a genre, and IMHO is a genius.
If you like guitar solos... it's a completely different genre, but give Polyphia a shot. Their song Champagne is CRAZY!!! Watch the video too. Just seeing their fingers fly through the intricate patterns is amazing.
@footnotedrummer I'm glad you mentioned that. I used to have an old demo album of this on an old computer. Basically the same songs, just different lyrics, especially between Four Horsemen and Mechanix
Hey Preston, I just wanted you to know that you are truly and officially a Metal Head! You get excited at all the right times during a song. You appreciate the time changes (from hard to smooth), the solos, and the arrangements of the songs. It's great to watch you react to these songs because your getting it! The music is getting inside you, and that's what it's all about! And most metal is following the template that Black Sabbath set, especially Metallica in my opinion?

I am immensely enjoying your videos. I’m a professional lead guitarist in a a country band , but my roots are hard rock and heavy metal. Just started watching your videos like a week ago... SO ENTERTAINING, THANK YOU!! You should do Van Halen!! “Runnin’ With The Devil”, “Eruption/ You Really Got Me” (listed on the album as two songs but radio DJs always play them together as one, “Eruption is an unaccompanied guitar solo by my favorite guitarist of all time- Eddie Van Halen), “Light Up The Sky”, “You’re No Good”, “And The Cradle Will Rock”. Thank you again so much man. Keep on keepin’ on my brutha.
yes, yes, yes, finally someone said it, I saw them for the first time when I was 16. 30+ years later, I can still feel the crowds energy when they started chanting DIE DIE DIE. absolutely awesome to see live 👍
Back in high school as a freshman in 1991 this was the first Metallica song I heard it was mixtape my friend made for me. The Four Horsemen was the first song followed by Fade To Black And For Whom the Bell Tolls and since then I’ve been hooked ever since

Kirk Hammet wasn't the guitarist on this album. Dave Mustaine was the guitarist. Dave left to start megadeth and Kirk left exodus to join Metallica for ride the lightning. That's how I remember it anyways.
Your facial expression are priceless. Your reactions crack me up and bring a smile to my face. I’m glad you appreciate great guitar playing. Keep it going.
Mustaine wrote this song bro Preston, the singer and guitar of Megadeth always remember that! One of my favourite Metallica's songs EVER, and Mustaine's style is RIGHT THERE! EPIC!
Spot on, bro. The breakdown in this is absolutely incredible. I basically taught myself how to play guitar with their first five albums, and shredding this one was always one of my favorites.
Seriously, the record labels should be paying you guys that do these reactions! This is the 3rd reaction this week I've heard of this song and looking through my CDs, I've found that its gone. I must now buy the Reissue on album now! Love seeing people experience great music for the first time. Its definitely inspiring.

I would suggest JS Bach
@@soakedbearrd Bach was metal AF in his time!
Believe it! Rock music is as close as you can get to classical music..
1st album bro, they were still teenagers, the music is not as polished as today but we like it that way.
BEST ALBUM
Certainly not polished, but definitely no lack of talent. I still have a blast playing Cliff's bass riffs from this album.
They weren't teenagers but okay
Best album, but you have to mention that most of those songs were co-written with Mustaine. So he needs to get some of that credit.
@@thesollylama130 he did get credit for it
Quite possibly best reactions on YT. Funny AS HELL too with the sound effects. You are solid gold my friend.

If you really want to appreciate Metallica and their musical genius, you MUST listen to 'Orion'. Its an instrumental but no words are needed.
David Shuler agree
David Shuler I second that. Orion is the ultimate manifestation of Metallica's genius.
David Shuler the man has a point! Iron is Metallica's 'Eleanor"
David Shuler welp... there it is! You need call of kutlu as will
Chris Bush cant go wrong with any of their instrumentals.

Now that you've listened to Metallica's The Four Horsemen, you have to listen to The Mechanix by Megadeth.

I've always thought it was a metaphor for sex lol
JASON Who knows right?
Dave fascinated bang the hot customers while he worked at a gas station/garage.
Your facial expression are priceless. Your reactions crack me up and bring a smile to my face. I’m glad you appreciate great guitar playing. Keep it going.
Halo on fire by Metallica please.. listen to them how they are now. Song is from 2016
Mustaine wrote this song bro Preston, the singer and guitar of Megadeth always remember that! One of my favourite Metallica's songs EVER, and Mustaine's style is RIGHT THERE! EPIC!
96% of Kill Em All reaction comments are about Dave Mustaine 😂 pretty sure they get the point
Kirk Hammet made playing fast pretty.
Spot on, bro. The breakdown in this is absolutely incredible. I basically taught myself how to play guitar with their first five albums, and shredding this one was always one of my favorites.
Love your reactions..you need to tee shirt some of your expressions..I'd buy it!!
It’s coming soon bro!!
Your facial expressions to the music are truly genuine and priceless !!!

Thanks for those vids bro, for a fan since 1986, it brings back to the first hearing!

Seriously, the record labels should be paying you guys that do these reactions! This is the 3rd reaction this week I've heard of this song and looking through my CDs, I've found that its gone. I must now buy the Reissue on album now! Love seeing people experience great music for the first time. Its definitely inspiring.
