I know it's too late but females must be extra careful when moving. For example don't tell the movers that you are alone. Don't share a lot of that information. There are a lot of safe men who would never hurt a woman but I've seen too many shows where men take info like this and use it for their own sickness. Whether it's stalking or staking out the building. Just don't let them know anything at all.

Something about the previous tenant leaving those little things behind to accommodate (in my head this is what it’s for) a new person moving in: the paper plates and cups, cleaning supplies, etc, just made my heart so happy. I’m so happy for you 🎉😊

In my country a tenant has to leave the house clean or the landlord will charge you for that.

Get a portable washer and dryer and store/hide them in the walk-in closet.
I’ll have to recheck my lease. I think it has mentioned that I can’t have washer/dryer in the apartment 🙃
@@TishaShresthaYou can get a small washer that sits on a countertop..only washes very small loads..but I carefully choose the fabrics of my clothes..use hand towels..not bath towels..Do you pay your own electric? I keep my apartment size electric dryer in my livingroom covered with a table cloth
A small washing machine is 12 and a 1/2 by 12 and a 1/2 by 14 inches and sells for about $60 on Amazon.

That wood conditioner is for your kitchen cabinets. Wood dries out fast so it will keep them from cracking
I use the exact brand of wood conditioner for my antique furniture and it does an amazing job!

That sunlight 😍 Just one piece of advice, I will put the sofa and tv in the opposite walls as what you mentioned in the video. See later how the sunlight goes to the right wall? You’d love to be able to sit on the sun in your sofa, and also, if you have the tv there the light reflects will bother you. Anyway, can’t wait to see how you decorate it and this new chapter in your life ❤

So much light and storage space! And a balcony for plants! After all you went through, you found the best place of all!

You can always use the dishwasher as a drying rack to keep the counter top clear while they dry
I got a mint color drying rack for my last apartment. Hoping to use the same but if it takes up too much counter space then I am definitely doing this trick :)))

Also ..I started taking the 5flights of stairs at my work (every other day only) and omg Justin a week and a half, the massive difference in how I felt!!! Stairs became easy least for me and I wasn't struggling to breathe like I usually would with stairs 😅😅😅

The circular thing on the lower cabinet is called a Lazy Susie and it's for your spices. Pots and pans will be to heavy.
Ohh thank you!! for now, I kept few…. So far it is holding up. It’s very big for spices :)
i saw another video where the tenant used clear packing tape all along the gap between floor and base board/wall. after she pressed it down you didn't even notice it had been taped. no caulking. not sure if it would pull up any paint off the wood when it's removed though. i'd use white masking tape just the edge of the opening to the white base board... i'm so amazed how these landlords won't spend a penny to update. that fridge and oven is at least from the 70's but if anyone can hide the apartment imperfections and make it look great, its you!!!!! can't wait for your dog to enjoy the sunshine from the windows.🌞
so far I have no issues with the gaps. My concerns were mainly because of the roaches (traumatized from my past experience) and the previous tenant also confirmed that she never had any issues. let’s see how it goes in upcoming months. Thank you for your kind words ❤
I'm crying watching this.... it's incomprehensible to me how anyone can rent this apartment for this price 😭 there are so many things I saw that I would immediately say no to.... the kitchen is practically falling apart and did you check for mold where the dishwasher was leaking? That area looks VERY damaged..... anyway I hope you make the best out of the situation as much as possible and the next one will be hundred times better and fresher (and fairly priced 🙄)
Congratulations on your new apartment! Very nice of the former owners that they left cups, plates, and garbage bags, etc. for you! You remarked you thought you’d have your office/desk in front of the windows. Well, remember your precious doggie has to have a perch to look out the windows too! 😂 🐶🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

If you know of a good handyman and can find a washer of a similar size, you can easily have them disconnect the dishwasher, store it away and then have them connect the washer to the water line in that space. We did that in our last unit and it worked amazingly well!

You could buy yourself a portable washer and dryer. My dryer is electric and plugs into a normal wall outlet.. The washer hooks up to the sink like a portable dishwasher. I love them and spent 1000.00 on both. It sure saves the hassle and money of going to a laundromat all the time. Your new apartment is a big upgrade from the old one, so spacious and bright.
Definitely an upgrade ❤. I would love to get a portable washer/dryer but per my lease I can’t have one :(

I think you will have many happy days in this apartment and your dog will love it, hope he has access to a window to look out and bask in the warm sunshine. That Feed-N-Wax wood stuff is great if you have any scratches on wood furniture...you could use it on the cabinets and make them look a little fresher too! :)

I think the apartment is brilliant after following her in the quest to find a new home, That sunlight shining in, awesome, the layout and space. Those big windows gets a huge wow and tick of approval from me, lots of sunlight and fresh air. I hope we get to see chappie soon, I am missing that little Cutie.

A portable washer and dryer would be great and you could store them in the walk-in closet. That would save you from carrying your laundry up and down 5 flights of stairs. Love your new apartment Tisha!❤

Love your New Apartment especially kitchen,oh my goodness i have same size Dishwasher perfect for your size you will love it believe me. Make sure they fix that leak though. Hey you might start cooking lol since a Dishwasher. Comes in handy especially if stuck in and need to cook.

Howard’s Feed & Wax is good stuff, it will bring your thirsty kitchen cabinets back to life! A little WD40 on the bathroom mirror hinges will eliminate the squeak. FYI they make “swing arm” curtain rods for windows like yours. You attach the rods to the wall or to the face of the window and they swing open with the window. Not sure if you have a vacuum but they come in handy for hardwood floors and area rugs. Such a nice previous tenant to leave you helpful household items!

What about a washing machine on a trolley with wheels so you can move it out of sight in the closet when you aren’t using it? I notice that some are commenting on the fridge and oven, Sure the fridge is old but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work… we had a old fridge once that was just well made and worked fantastic for over 30 years. All we did was get a new seals about 20 years in. Same with the oven just because it is old doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work. I am sure if you have any problems with either of them you will be able to get it sorted. So excited for you!

How many floors up? Definitely calk the baseboard..cuz even if there are no roaches..you will get spiders and centipedes .
It is a fifth floor walk up. let’s see how it goes in upcoming weeks/months. So far no issues with any bugs :))))

The Kitchen has potencial, you had beautiful ideas in your old kitchen. I think you can painting the doors and maybe a new freezer. The space is really good for your kitchen items.
