I’ve never met a cat that wanted attention from the same person for more than 15 minutes. They get bored of us easily.
Before people complaining about why she didnt take him with her etc , cats who lives outside are rarely wild in Turkey especially in Istanbul. Theyre well fed , they get their shelters , their food and affection from other people. By being outside theyre never bored.
And you never know if you're taking someone's cat?
@@andrewstamford1988 Too many cats out there youd be surprised if they have owners or not some of them are looks like luxury cats but theyre not. Its easy to get confused thats what i meant.

My comment was aimed at the people, as you said, who asked why not take the cat. So I meant, it is not easy to tell if the cat has an owner or not.
When there are so many cats on the streets, it would be difficult to know which one does not belong to someone just from how they look. 👍

I felt bad for my neighbors cat seeing it sit under a tree at 3am in the rain so I fed her some kibbles and she followed me down the street and stayed over at my house. The owner was was wondering where she had disappeared to for week. She got along great with my little dwarf bunny but I apologized for feeding her cat and now it’s always over. Eventually they moved away and so did I. Sweet little kitty.
It's cute how he first tries the gentle innocent way, but shows his latent aggression when his request is followed too slowly 😂
Cats 🐈 demand attention as opposed to wanting it. It sometimes makes you appreciate them running away. Be careful what you wish for when wanting their attention.

Some people would disagree and there is biological proof cats have less facial muscles than dogs for example, but they really do have expressive faces.

They are so full of affection. Such loving creatures.
The amount of trust this cat has to stranger means there's still hope on earth.
It means the place where they live is civilized.
Turks tend to respect cats as a culture. So even though they aren't associated with any one family they're still well socialized.

No, that just means that domesticated cats adopted to us humans, and instinctivelly know the kind of behaviour that gets them food, care and shelter from us.

His fur is too beautiful to be just a stray: he is well fed and pampered and very sociable. He wanted two cuddles and maybe some baby food.

@@CubeBizz That's mainly because in Turkey we really care about them. For example, in my neighbourhood we had 4 stray cats and 3 stray dogs. One apartment agreed to feed the dogs while my appartment agreed to feed the cats. Other appartment bought a camping tent for the dogs so they could live inside of it and we built a small cat house for our cats. We are providing both for dogs and cats everyday. 1 of our cats had 4 babies recently. Now we are also taking care of them. They are very healthy and they love human interaction just like their mother. Also strays in Turkey have healthcare. You can take them to public vet office for free if they are sick.
This is how near all stray cats and dogs are in Turkey. You can see them in every street, the locals feed them and care for them as much as they can

Okay now that is cute. I wish I could do that with animals. You think American Doctors are bad? You should see our vets. There's ways to get free doctoring. Helping animals is big $. What do you do if they become too many? I went from somehow a stray cat got lost/put in my bush to I have an entire feral cat colony now. I can't possibly take care of them all.
@fermatichebellosei1595 absolutely. Turkey is a mix of both. Cats and dogs everywhere but cats don't cause issues. Dogs form gangs and kill people

@@archivelibrarian6818 Almost no one here in Istanbul would hurt stray animals, we live in a harmony. And those who do hurt animals in the street usualy gets beaten up by the common folk (me included) before police can even catch them
That cat looks exactly like the cat I had in my childhood-and it was the sweetest cat ever… I miss that cat, so much.
To this day, after many years living with cats, it still amazes me they do something like tap you with their paw to get your attention.

I just saw a short today of a polydactyl cat who knocks (taps) on a door before entering when he spots his human in the room. Now that was charming. 🤓

They did! They left it to die on the street, probably shivering in the cold and wondering why these humans rejected it, wondering what it did wrong, why it was not worthy of love and left as fodder for hits on RUclips and never experiencing real love. Why does this couple hate me was its thought, "Why do you refuse to love me" that is what is really felt. They left it alone to be in agony. This is depressing, should be called "how to murder an angel". Disgusting !!

This cat has some bengal ancestors for sure. The face, the tail, the eyes, the faded spots, the mannerisms.
It's just a normal cat. Bengals look brighter. This just looks more like a standard african wildcat.

That brings me back such good memories. There was that stayed kitten following my two sons and me from a park to our house. (it happened to be a 3 colored female). My boys were only 5 years old back then. (Yip twins, identical one) There were no ID ships as it was a few decades ago. To make a long story short, we adopted the kitten and she lived 15 years old. My sons were not even living with me anymore when she passed away. But, the bottom line is, "Katty the Cat" gave us lots of unconditional love. Gee, I miss her.
Get another I went to the pound looking for my dog and there were just the cutest little kittens that really really wanted adoption. There's one out there waiting for you.

I have a lakehouse/vacation home where we always have bunch of cats who show up and stay. Well three of them just had little kittens 4+4+2 = 10 total. I actually helped deliver two of them (very proud of myself for foing so) So, if you really need a cat...😏🤪

Just so that we’re clear. These cats are obviously social and they’re very happy. They’re actually almost more happy than a house cat because they’re always busy and they get attention from not just one or two people.

Omg it feels so special to be loved by a stray cat bc a cat that looks exactly like the one in the vid sometimes comes to the house and we give her food but rarely because there’s like barley any foods that the cat can eat but when we can we usally give her chicken or fish I remember giving her some of my breakfast and I used to always eat tomato and eggs because of her so she can eat too and she’s a mother of 2 babies

You don't even know if it has an owner. It most likely has and I don't think they are going to just give you their cat for no reason. They probably love it too much for that.

You can't. Cats in Istanbul are looked after by the community and are free. (Food & Water cups and small shelters around every corner / in front of most of the houses for them, as well as for dogs)
Even municipality veterinaries that look after them for 100% free are obligated to put them back to the exact same spot they take them from. Cat's might choose to go to people's houses, but more often than not they go back out where they are free.
as someone who lives in Istanbul yes you can. that's how I adopted my cat. this is how most people adopt their cats. and the community supports this because you are protecting them from the dangers on the street. take that cat go to vet and check to see if he has a microchip and if he doesnt he can be yours now.

I've witnessed many arguments on this subject and it has always caused more suffering then it did good. Ignorant and unqualified random people taking cats from neighborhoods that others care for, just to throw the cat away miles away from its actual home when things get hard.
It is much easier to adopt when they have babies, and by people that you actually know are capable.
This is even worse for dogs, since it is much harder to look after them, they become homeless right after getting used to a home.

Had this once. I passed a tall wall with a cat sat upon it…he reached out to me. I held his paw for a few seconds. He was a stray too. We already had a cat…so I couldn’t help him. A bit sad really…hope he found a home.

Looking at the bench, this looks like Turkey. It's common to leave food out for stray animals there, and they sometimes even become the neighborhood pets. Like it's not uncommon for a whole community to look after stray animals whenever they show up, so it's kinda normal to see healthy looking stray cats and dogs resting on the street or asking for treats if you're eating on a restaurant. They may even be a little spoiled.

Lol, my cat asks (or should I say, demands) for attention in the same way! Especially by tapping you. I remember one time I was sitting at my desk and I got startled because it felt like someone put their hand on my shoulder. But it was just the cat Barry, who stood up to put his paws on the back of my chair and placed his paw on my shoulder to get my attention
