After seeing The Batman twice…I can see it becoming one of my favorite comic book films. I need to watch it one more time, but I loved what I saw. Do wish it was 15 minutes shorter, that’s just me.
I think could have been 2 hours and 20 minutes not 3 hours, a lot of the backstory of Falcone & Catwoman story could have been shorter and making more screen time for The penguin and maybe only focusing on The riddler kills. Also I think a bit of more action and chase scenes like the amazing car chase
If they removed the fighting-riddler-clones bit, and just went from the city being flooded to Batman helping survivors, as well as thrown in that Joker scene (because it was great and without it, the scene that he is in looks like a crummy cameo thrown in because the studio said so), then, and only then, it would the perfect movie.
They should have ended the movie at that final monologue about hope . Would have cut 15-20 mins from the movie and wouldve made the movie go from amazing to holy shit for me .
With “The Batman”, I didn’t really feel that any politics were shoehorned, and rather felt present in the little bits it was there. Perhaps with The Riddlers background reveal, I see where your conclusion comes in. For me, it felt organic in this modern noir context, and know that the avenues he used have been used much longer than our society seems to show. Loved the film, wish it was R rated but am okay with it not being so

Hmm, I still think the film is pretty obvious with it's messaging. And also way too centrist lol, they tried to shake things up by making Thomas Wayne "the bad guy" but then subverting that by "well actually he just made a mistake" and also the "not all cops are bad" thingy. So idk lol.
@@crappymcdick I wouldn't consider it centrist, the explicit message is that fighting petty criminals doesn't "fix" crime, crime is a predictable result of poverty-stricken neighborhoods. The absolute cackle that escaped my lips when RPatz jumps off the tower to escape the cops, deploys his parachute incorrectly under the bridge and eats shit. This movie knows not to take itself too seriously because Batman is not a serious hero yet. He's still learning, he makes so many mistakes, he's a lil emo tween listening to Cobain. I'm so glad they tackled Batman's adolescence, it humanizes the character tremendously.
Okay, so Bestia is the short film from my country Chile. It's actually based on a real woman called Ingrid Olderock that worked for the secret police of a dictatorial government that lasted 17 years. She was responsible for torturing women in horrific ways using her dog (as seen in the short film). She was shot in the head in an assassination attempt (it is not known whether it was by a group of revolutionaries or by the secret police themselves). She recovered and retired from her job, living the rest of her life without paying for her crimes. The short was really hard to watch, but an important reminder of the history of our country that we should never forget.

Bestia is about Ìngrid Olderöck, a real woman who tortured hundreds of people during the dictatorship in Chile in the seventies. the methods of torture she used were absolutely brutal (i'm not going to describe them... you can look them up, they're gross), which is why the nicknamed her "la mujer de los perros" (woman of the dogs)
i just got rejected from my dream school so thank you karsten for providing some levity to my life 🙏
Jeen-yuhs was inspiring, interesting and heartbreaking. I’ve listened to Kanye since he broke out with Gold Digger when I was a little kid and have followed his career ever since. Loved it the documentary.
Bro stop commenting so much 💀
@@scottgimple8107 idk what my comments have to do with you enjoying the video. So I’ll do what I want.
that batman bomb scene had me dying when i first saw it

endured ? you didn't enjoy anything you watched ?
that's a humble brag
you are the first person i've actually seen bring up the police thing. i felt like i was the only one to notice that
I watched:
The duke 8
About time 100
The octopus teacher 8
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind 10
Close 6
Her 8
The phantom of the open 8
Timetrap 5
The Batman 10
Million dollar baby 6
Spencer 6
Peanut butter falcon 10
Finally someone talking about "The Assistant".
turning red would've been 10/10 for me if they leaned into the artstyle of chinese tropes with anime aesthetics (and less of that classic disney plaster look), your batman take made me reconsider actually watching it in theatres instead of waiting for hbomax with all the (mid) reviews surrounding it.
much love
I also felt a little confused by The Batman's politics. Maybe I need to rewatch it, but there were a lot of mixed messages about who has the right and the duty to protect
Somehow my favorite Batman movies either go very dark or very funny. The Nolan trilogy, The Batman, and Dark Knight Returns go dark, and the 1966 Batman and Lego Batman are two of the goofiest movies ever, and they’re great.
Karsten please do a video about your favorite albums
I feel like Everything Everywhere All at Once is going to be a big one if you have the chance to watch it this month.
Karsten. Your probably not gonna
see this. PLEASE DO A FULL SPOILER REVIEW OF RED ROCKET! It needs more recognition 🙏🏾
Turning Red is my favorite movie ever. SOOOOO good!!!
Karsten you neeeed to watch everything everywhere all at once
I agree with you on free guy my expectations were 6 feet deep and that’s kinda the only reason I liked it
Love that you did Batman and The Batman back to back, always enjoy these videos!
Good Video Karsten! Keep up the great work!
You gotta see Everything Everywhere All At Once next!
i can’t wait to see it omg it’s taking forever to come to my area
I love you. I watched the dark night every night while I went to bed last month
went through a phase as a kid where i would stay up late at night every night and watch grown ups. this lasted weeks
Needed a video to eat, and then Mr. Masterpieces dropped.
Man the early 2000s was such a great setting for Turning Red
If we're talking about quality film. I just watched 2001's Fat Girl this afternoon. True masterpiece.

Any Sean Harris movie
8th grade by Bo Burnham is the most underrated perfect movie ever made.
@@nobodyburgen4594 fun fact.
Bo Burnham was heavily inspired by Fat Girl during 8th grade one his favorite mobjes
@@uhh_p cool probobly increases the chance that op will like it
TURNING RED YESSSS
Where’s the oscars video Karsten?
I kind of hate your movie opinions, but I kind of like hearing you talk. So I just watch and like.
If you liked After Yang, you should read the transformers comic More Than Meets The Eye. Yes transformers has good stories!
It talks about the issues of functionality in society
I know you don't watch a lot of tv shows, but based on the ones you do watch and enjoy, I think you might really have a good time with Severance!
Happy we're at a point now where we can say Batman '66 is fun ass time. Very goofy, but very batman
thank you for giving me my opinions
i have never watched turning red but i am heavily addicted to its trailer and i have no idea why
0:14 Jeen-yuhs A Kanye Trilogy
0:46 M
1:08 Animated Shorts Nominees
1:36 Batman (1966)
karsten r u ok this is unacceptable 11 days without an upload???
still find it a little odd Bam was in the treadmill brass band, you'd think they'd have kept in more stunts including him or none at all
The Assistant was great and underrated
This video slaps harder than Will Smith
And it's stronger as Chris Rock's chin.
Louder than Will Smith’s cursing
You didn’t even watch the video
Nathan. This is so funny. Ha. Ha.
Ruben23Daniel
It's Karsten. I don't even need to watch it in order for me to tell if it's good or not
Have you watched Miami vice. Definitely the most underrated movie I've ever seen.
Karsten please watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League finally. I’m not sure how someone who loves film as much as you can sit out on one of the most interestingly conceived films ever. Just having the ability to watch and compare the two different versions on a filmmaking level makes the experience worth it enough.
Just by the sequences, I'm more interested in A24's "Man" than "X". We'll see.
Watched Phantom Thread yesterday! So awesome. Still haven’t seen Licorice Pizza.
I was literally wondering what you were thinking when CODA won. I didn't see that coming!
Jackass Forever basically had me gag so much I pulled a muscle in my throat. I had a ton of laughs with the friends who grew up watching the old show and movies with me. But my God... How did I stomach that in the past I swear to God
I thought Free Guy was one of the better Ryan Reynolds movies. I had fun with it. 3.5/5 for me.
Did you watch Lord of the slaps: Return of will
4:14 that’s my Uncle, no joke
So far my favorite films of this year are
1: Apollo 10 1/2
2: the Batman
3: Kimi
4: the house
I felt the hurt in the “cup test” skit in Jackass Forever
Jesus shut up
I work at a theater and we had a lot of fuckin people come to Jackass Forever it was fun... mostly, there was some crazy dudes here and there but it was fun seeing how many people came
glad you liked turning red
I agree with the "i love stupid movies" part.
see this is what i mean, you make easy going dope shit like this
