- Firefly is a damn remarkable series and all the concepts behind it are inspired as hell. I've been wanting to tribute the show (and movie) as a whole for months, waiting for the right song, and found one that struck a chord with me.
When you make a badass and totally fresh show that boasts witty dialogue, epic storylines, and strong characters, but you're PARTNERED WITH FOX, well... Yeah, you know the rest.
Contains SPOILERS from Firefly and Serenity.

Just here for my annual Firefly fix. I've come to the conclusion that we are living in the darkest timeline where this brilliant show was cancelled. We need to find a way to transfer over to the prime timeline where this show had it's brilliant series finale after 6 seasons. I'm sure we can make this happen if we work together.
I share your beliefs and optimism, dude. The transfer is achievable. By my calculations, for this work we need to recite both the Hail Mary and the Ballad of Serenity 1000 times.

My friend what you have just said could not have been said any better. I've just started to watch This show, but have been watching Castle since last year and caught up eventually. Basically like you said the characters are almost your family. When Beckett gave that speech during the funeral I cried, for a TV show, I cried. I love Ryan and Espesito and home one day I can find a friend/s like that. Even Castle. Someone who listens and helps. Same for Beckett. Man these shows....

I've never been the biggest sci-fi fan but that's a mighty comprehensive list and respect for obviously knowing your shit. I really enjoyed Invasion (marathoned it a couple of months ago) and didn't mind the first season of The 4400 back when it aired. I'll have to google those other titles, because I'm bound to like a few of the premises alone.
This is absolutely perfect. This series was genius, as is everything that comes from Whedon. I will never forgive Fox for cancelling this show. But thanks to vidders like you, it's kept alive.

I watched Serinity today, and its the first time I watched anything about firefly. Was slightly lost at first, but I fairly got the hang of it at the end. But it got me interested in the series itself.

Only at the surface Castle is a joke. He is a very mature and deep character. Staying 4 years besides Beckett and giving her space not much would do that. The relationship between him and his daughter... who would be like that? The way she helps his mother ( even though sometimes he is making some bad jokes about her ) who could do that? I don't believe that we can find very easy someone like Castle.

You find Firefly depressing because it never got a shot at being a full series? :))) I'm depressed because Firefly it's only a show and I will never be able to stay on Serenity with Mal and his crew. :((((
You watch this show Firefly, or you watch Castle and you feel you belong to that family, you feel that the characters in those shows are your family and after that you realise that everything is a lie, an ilusion and you go back to your own pathetic life. It's tragic... it's tragic that in the real world you hardly find people like Mal, Wash, Simon, River etc. Listening in your video about Jayne making his confesions, saying that there are no good people, only selfish ones it kills you...
I like the movie but feel as if the show is just so good that it's in a whole other league. I hope you've watched the series since posting this.
