- The River Tam Sessions - Shown in proper order, not the reverse order they were posted in virally to drum up buzz for the film "Serenity", which many found rather odd and pointless. Watch these first, then the entire series of "Firefly", and after that view the film "Serenity", for the entire "Firefly" experience.

I knew that they were originally shown online in reverse order to drum up viral mystery and hype for the release of the film "Serenity", but I felt that after all this time, it was better fan service to now show them in consecutive order to provide some gritty background for why River Tam is the way she is.

"Will I still be allowed to dance?" To this day that still gives me goosebumps. In the TV series there's a moment in the episode "Safe" where she does in fact get to dance. On her own terms. To hell with the people around her. She may not be "allowed" to dance, but she doesn't require permission. She finds a moment when she can, no matter how briefly, even after everything the "Alliance" did to her. Everything they took from her. All the garbage they shoved into her mind. In the movie Serenity, when she saves her friends from The Reavers, she does so through dance. Weapons in hand, but she doesn't need permission. "Will I still be allowed to dance?" Yes, dear. You got to dance.

I will watch anything with Summer Glau in it. I am still very emotionally hooked on TSCC, the Sarah Connor Chronicles. From day one I was hooked. Summer is so good as a Terminator!

I think it is more powerful the way it was intended with 416(?) first. You don't want to watch this before the series, it would spoil too much. Just my opinion.
Powerful as a viral in the order they were first shown in, yes, I agree. As it left the viewer thinking "WTF is going to happen next?" But for seasoned Browncoats like me, in the sequential order I've provided, to add interesting and useful backstory, before watching the series and then the film. Your mileage may vary. I see your point, though.

I just happened upon this. I think it was one of the most innovative series ever put on the screen. The chemistry for the players was magic. They were REAL! I have the series, movie and books. Now I've found this incredible bit of work and my jaw hit the floor. Fox...what douche bags! I don't believe it can be revived and be the same magic. It's about family and the love of family. They are SO good at this so MAYBE Disney COULD bring it back. Don't know if Joss would still do it but I'd watch.

@@ObservantPiratePlus sir the part that bothers me about this is that one, it was Never seen in either the series or the film, and secondly, we never really had the chance to really see a full and complete background on all of the lead characters at all so there was far too much left Unsaid andUnexplored !!!

There is a follow up comic (Shepherd's Tale) that gives you Book's past.
