I have bought M2 Max ,96gb Ram, 1TB . I am a fulltime creative cloud user with animation and video editing. This machine is fast , i am very happy with previous adobe struggle in timeline .
Hey Scoot! Just looking for some opinions. I have been looking into buying a 14 inch laptop that lasts me a good time. I'm looking for something I can use for work/editing and (hopefully) gaming if I would study abroad for example. The laptops that has catched my eye are: Lenovo (Slim/) yoga pro 9i Asus zenbook pro 14 Macbook pro m1/m2. Both windows laptops has 4070 graphics card. I already have a windows pc at home, is it worth switching to macOS or go with a Windows laptop. Which one would you think would fit the best. (Overall) Thanks in advance!
Hello! I don't have any experience with Lenovo and I had a terrible experience with my ZenBook Pro so I think I'd recommend the Mac. I'm not sure about gaming on the Mac though as I am not a gamer but for anything else, I think it's an amazing laptop. 👍
Hi Scoot. This is a great introduction video! I want to buy a new MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon inside. My old MacBook Pro 15 (2018) has been worked for over 5 years. The old one's performance, especially when I was using a external display, is very poor. But the Windows 10 PC which have the same hardware performs much more better in the fluency of system UI. So I am wondering the disfluency is due to macOS rather than hardware. Does M2 Max can solve the disfluency problem with single external 4K display?
I was debating about the same exact thing but then I went with the M2 Max and I didn’t even upgrade the RAM and it’s just great whatever I throw at it. Games, Blender…anything. The speakers are an understatement. This is my first Macbook ever and it literally blew my mind how amazing the sound quality is. I love this thing for sure and now I’m convinced that the M3 wouldn’t be a noticeable upgrade in my eyes because this is already so powerful (and I’m a techie guy I sadly always look at the newest and best lol)
I'm glad that you mentioned your experience with multi-tasking. My machine is the 2021 16" MBP w/ the M1 Pro Chip and 16GB of RAM. I usually run 4-5 programs, when I'm video editing and I definitely noticed a slowdown with my RAM configuration. Maybe 64GB is the sweet spot for multi-tasking? I'm looking to upgrade to a similar laptop, like yours, so I found your video very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Just be careful with moisture, entering on to mainboard. When i was travelling around asia, i saw many M1 & M2 brought out for repairs. All moisture damaged with dust.

Yes, so far I am very happy with it as well!

Alright, thanks for taking your time to answer. Well I think I'll go with a Mac then :)@@ScooterMediaVideos

Hello, and thank you! To be honest I don't use an external display so I'm not sure how the performance compares to the windows pc unfortunately.
I can't decide either buying this model or wait for the M3
This is a great laptop but the way Apple releases things, it probably won't be that much longer before the M3 is out.

Hey Scoot, the new m3 max just came out, do you plan on trading your m2 max?
Hello, no I'm not planning on trading the M2 Max for the M3 Max.
I still have my M2 Max and am trying to wait till my Applecare expires before upgrading to the next version. There are still no complaints!
My thoughts exactly!!! 👍
I have a doubt. Apart from editing, what else can I really use this machine for? @Hefty price over m2 pro
You probably don't need this over m2 pro...I edit everyday on it and needed it to be fast as possible.
Music production, if it's your thing
3D animation and video game development
Machine is a banger! Prefer is over the M3 myself with the memory bandwidth reduction unless you max out the newest model
I haven't had a chance to try out the M3 yet but this thing is amazing!! 👍
i’m getting a M2 max (silver) in 2 weeks, great review
Congrats, it's a great laptop! Thank you! 👍

Yes, I think if you're video editing while doing other tasks 64GB is probably the way to go...specially with all the 4/6/8K footage around nowadays. 👍
Do you think 32 go of ram is just fine for your work ?
Yes, 32Gb of ram is probably enough for my work. My last laptop was 32Gb and it worked fine for editing.
What was your previous system?
My previous system was the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo
Just be careful with moisture, entering on to mainboard. When i was travelling around asia, i saw many M1 & M2 brought out for repairs. All moisture damaged with dust.
Thanks for the heads-up! 👍
Price please
I breakdown the exact cost in the video: 7:47 Price
@@ScooterMediaVideosmy question was before the end of the video ☺, my bad
@@user-pl6wo8nu8h all good lol!! 👍
You’ll get 6-8 years out of it before there’s a worthwhile tech jump.
That sounds good to me! 👍
