I wish the Labels were more like a Folder. You should be able to move inbox emails to folders to essentially clean up the inbox. Inbox should be for New emails only imo. In your example, it would be nice to see the Inbox at 0 e-mails after you added the labels. Still seeing the 57 e-mails in the inbox is a bummer.

Hello, Can you please tell me how I can remove emails from a designated label preceding a certain date? For example: under a Label called: Automotive Related I would like to delete all emails prior to 2022/01/01. Is there a way I can use a filter to accomplish this? Many thanks in advance!
When I search for a specific email sender, I want to put them in a label I created and remove them from their original label. How do I remove their original label without doing it one by one and without deleting them all?
Hello .. Im having trouble wiith my label folders .. I have important emails in certain folders and they disappear. So now most of my folders are empty and I cant find the emails anywhere. Any Ideas ?
All I want is for ALL of my incoming email going into the inbox. ALL. I cannot get my online g-mail to do this. It always sorts things into multiple boxes and I cannot get rid of it. I set it up in settings, save the settings, and nothing. It reverts back to multiple inboxes every single time. It is driving me insane.
I can't stop this 'All Mail' from continuously populating. Can't sort by name - have to pick a random sender, etc. It's terrible. Can't deselect 'promotions' label etc.
@@StewartGauld I use Mac Mail for it. But had to go into gmail to clean it up. Still really shocked there's no basic sort so all of one company etc shows in the 'from' column.

Yes in the filter you can add the dates and the label for deletion.

How to manage all mail vs primary mail? When I delete email from all mail it also disappears from email placed in specific labels box. How to rectify.
You can setuo different inboxes and manage each inbox separately like Primary, social, updates etc.
