thank you so much for this, your videos are very helpful
You're welcome! Glad you're finding them helpful!
Great video.
I would be interested to hear suggestions for names for labels/folders so as to help organize ones personal gmail.
I watched all your videos RUclips, all of them are useful
That's awesome, thanks for spending some time here! I'm glad you're finding them useful!
@@AnsonAlexanderis there an option for unread messages to be oldest to newest instead of newest to oldest?
Utilization of 'unsubscribe' links merely tells the sender they reached a real human, and can result in more spam.
A friend set up a filter to automatically move all incoming mail containing the word 'unsubscribe' to the spam folder, where it is left un-opened, and auto-deleted after exactly 30 days. She said it works well. Remember most, if not all mail 'phones home' upon opening and/or clicking links within.
Both her & I use a dedicated spam account for dealing with any person/outfit that might become a spam issue.
Nah that’s not true. I don’t get spam in my inbox when I unsubscribe. Google will send the emails you're talking about to the spam folder anyway. Also, I get plenty of emails that I want with the word “unsubscribe” so filtering them all would get rid of a lot of mail I want. In a minimal setup, as was the point of the video, no filters are needed.
7:45 idk if it's a feature implemented after you created this but when I hover over emails in my "social" category inbox, a "unsubscribe" option shows up to the right, next to the garbage can (delete) icon. I double checked before writing this, it appears to only be emails in the social category. Just unsubbed from those annoying linkdin and facebook emails with a couple clicks.
All of my labels start with "Inbox/" what am I doing wrong?
