Excellent! It's Good Friday, Term 1 has finished (Australia) and I was going to go through my emails during the school holidays. Now I have a way to do this every day and save time. Thanks!
On another note, I discovered your channel around Christmas 2019 when I was looking for a tutorial on Google sites. No one at my school was using Google sites and I just knew that there would be a way to use it at school effectively. I found your channel and now direct any colleagues to you. We now do a unit on digital citizenship for Y7 students where they create a site and put all their learning there (started during Covid lockdown as it was the most effective way to teach this unit online and we now do it face to face). I use it for promoting the faculties subject choice to students, revision sites for seniors in Design & Technology and recently, Food Technology students are making a food blog on Google sites.
I love that you get straight to the point with your videos as I don't have time to watch 'fluff' that most other content creators put into tutorials.
This is a game changing hack! I am an executive assistant and I constantly look for ways to be more efficient. Certain weeks I could get through everything but I had a million labels and some weeks would be too overwhelming for my system. I completed your steps last night at midnight and I have zero emails and an outlined to do list for the day! I would read an email and out action items in a "tracker" or I would make the email a task and things would get lost or forgotten- even with reminders. We definitely do not maximize gmails features.
Only issue my shortcuts are enabled but do not work.
Two thumbs up!👍👍
Best inbox zero tutorial of em all! Thank you
This is the one of the most amazing videos of yours. Thank You. I use spilt screen to read by email which saves a lot of time for me.
Love it. I used to use split screen a lot before switching to a smaller screen on my daily driver. But solid suggestion for our teachers watching! Thank you.
Hey! How to use split screen?
@@arathimotagi4078 first click on setting icon and the drag below you can see a reading pane group. under this you can choose the option to split screen.
Great video! I use V for label+archive in one shortcut ;-)
Still love this video, really great!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! I searched the email for the solution until I came across you.
Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent!
This is very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Love this video! I do have a question: I did the setup exactly as you layout, however, I do not get a drop-down accordian > on the added inboxes on the right in the main view. The labels are being applied and I can find them on the left but I would love to see them in the accordions on the right for speed. Thoughts?
Thanks for the awesome informative video.
Excellent, thanks.
You're welcome
Thanks, this was helpful.
Thank you
very, very helpfull, thanks a lot
Great to hear that!
Thank youuu!!!
Glad you found it helpful
Many thanks for such a useful video! I really appreciate it!
One question (help), please:
The red coloured label shown @ 08:05 did appear when I made the changes. However, it DID NOT appear on the right side under the tab "take action" (08:15), when back to main page! Any settings missing, please?
Thanks, once again!
So helpful
Glad you think so!
Great video thanks. Just one question, can I add sub-labels eg under notes, can I add labels to organise my notes under labels such as student names, timetables, etc
Wonderful video Sethi! Thanks! As I'm writing this comment I guess I already know the answer :o). I have dozens of clients, and in each one of them I use different technologies. So I think that what I have to do is, beside the label you suggest, apply my labels by client and by technology, so each of my emails will have several labels. Not clear what I have to do to get different Inbox. Thanks!
When setting up the multiple inboxes you can choose up to 5 different labels. If they have multiple labels they will show up in every inbox with that label. Depending on the use case you could highlight those you'd need quick access to as inboxes and the rest will be available on the left in your regular labels. Hope this helps:-)
Cool video. Nice shirt too.
Thanks
An essential video for every teacher!
Thank you!
Question on the right side for Action items when I try to archive they don't go away. It only allows to delete. But I don't want to delete? Can anyone help with question
Great. I just wonder why it’s e rather than a. .
A is used for reply all. So I guess e as in erase maybe?
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials oh, that is easy to remember. Thank you for the speedy reply. You’re awesome!
Thank you split screen emails layout
I will think on how I can apply it to my work email. Any way I can archive all of my 9k emails and just label them before 2020 ?
You could do this by using a filter and automatically applying it to all email before a date. However, I would do it one page at a time and run various filtered searches. That way you are sure not to mis label anything. For example all email from name@name.com get archived. sales@names.com no need to keep and get deleted.
When you go through an e-mail (on the right side), when finished you remove the label but you don't have to archive it again. It was already archived.
Correct. When it's archived it will be removed from the list by removing the label.
Why did he create folders for the inbox when there are labels already? It's the same thing I am confused.
Hi from Germany! Great Video! BUT i have a problem with my screen, i do all youre steps, i see the labels on the right side, next to my inbox, , but i dont see the emails / i dont have the dropdown / that i moved to the diffrent labels direct under the labels on the right side next to my inbox - i am going insane, because, my inbox is zero but i only see the emails in the labels if i activate the labels on the left side....can you or anyone help me
Once archived email are no linger in your main inbox. They are under All ail. However by first labeling the emails we can set up the sub boxes or multiple inboxes. These can then highlight the messages that have this label. For example 'to action'. Once they have been dealt with, you remove the label, which removes the email from the secondary inbox with labels, but it will still live as archived email in your All Mail. Hope this makes sense? If not I will try to explain again :-)
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials i found my mistake! thanks
