    Thanks, this was interesting.
    I really like your variety of aquatic pond plants. Here in NZ it can be a bit difficult tracking down aquatic plants to buy, as I think the conservation department is afraid of them escaping into the wild and becoming an invasive weed.
    I have had to go out searching lakes and streams to find most of my plants. But that can be fun anyway.
    I enjoy your videos, please keep us updated on your pond. 😊

      Thank you for your beautiful comment from NZ. My husband is from Whangarei, and we went there in May. I adore NZ nature. I think you guys are truly blessed when it comes to nature! I can buy some aquatic plants from Bunnings, or aquarium. But I am the same, I find it fun to collect some plants from natural pond too 😊

      Yes, I only bought 6 to start with and I got eggs already! I separated the eggs and I can see the eyes now. I also made a tsukubai (just because shishiodoshi is difficult to make). I was thinking of making videos as well, I am wondering if you would allow me to use your video links and tell people that your videos are my inspiration?

      Thank you so much for your Christmas and New Year greetings. Gold Coast had been hit by a tornado on the Christmas night, since then we have no power in my area. Finally I got a little signal for my phone but that’s it at the moment. Fortunately we have a generator that keeps our air con and fridge run. We had thunderstorm on the New Year’s Day as well. But we are all safe! Hope everything is going well with you!

    ❤it was great seeing your new video. You have given me many ideas. I have a 6 foot fence all around my Yard but I have seen Stray Cats 🐈 jumping it. They might kill my Koi Fish. So thinking of building a Bridge over it so they can hide under it. My Weather is Tropical all year long so never Snows. Love ❤your video Hi from South Texas 👋

      Great to hear from you 😊👍 I understand your situation. My mum in Japan used to have two beautiful koi fish in her small garden pond. One was gold, the other was silver. But one morning the gold one was missing. We found scales around the pond. It must’ve been some cat’s attack. Hope the bridge idea works 🤞💕

    Hi! Love your videos. I have a large clay garden pot that I'm thinking of using for our 2 goldfish as a new pond. Do you think I need a pump or filtration for them? Your medaka seem happy but not sure about goldfish. Glad to see you are enjoying life in Australia. I lived in your country for over ten years, many years ago. Back home now, a little further north of you though.

    • @livelovelaughdiy
      @livelovelaughdiy  Год назад

      Konbanwa! thank you for your comment 😊 You lived in Japan! My parents have a small goldfish pond at their property in Tokyo, they have a pump. I researched about having goldfish in a patio pond, it is possible to keep them without a pump or filter if you can provide them a large pond with substrate and aquatic plants. However you still need regular water change. Goldfish grow a lot bigger than rice fish, they contaminate the water quickly. Also they eat aquatic plants which act like a filter. So, installing a pump or filter will make the job so much easier.

    You have a lovely garden! What I'd like to know is, did the fish survive the interest of your cute ginger cat?!

    • @livelovelaughdiy
      @livelovelaughdiy  7 месяцев назад

      Hahaha 😆 yes my ginger cats are curious, especially the young one! I usually cover this patio pond with a wire mesh, so it is protected. I have lots of cane toads 🐸 here, and they often jump in my pond! So I have to have some cover. The cover protects from cats too. I have another mini pond with rice fish on my balcony. This one is just a storage plastic box, and only 12 fish are there. Since this pond is on the busy spot, and dry area, we don’t see cane toads. So this plastic box pond doesn’t have a cover. My cats often drink water from this pond but they don’t try to catch the fish. I guess the fish are too fast and small to grab for cats. They eventually loose interest in the fish but enjoy drinking the “flavoured water” 🤣
      But they probably try to catch the fish in my round pond in this video because there are so many fish! They look more interesting! I think cats are safe as long as there are not many fish in the pond 👍

    • @PlasBachGarden
      @PlasBachGarden 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@livelovelaughdiy That’s great that the cats leave the fish alone and the fish are safe! The cat in this video is so cute. I used to have a ginger cat called King who we found as a kitten in Thailand and brought with us to the UK. He was with us for 19 years! We now have Milo, who is a large Maine Coon cat and very cuddly. There are a few videos of him (and my garden!) on my channel if you have any free time between making your garden look lovely!

    メダカちゃんたち物凄く増えたね!みんな元気で気持ちよさそう。Canはもう、メダカのプロね。素晴らしい!👍
    猫ちゃんがメダカたちを食べてしまう心配はないの???お行儀がいいのかな。生き物はいろいろと気を遣って面倒をみないといけないから大変だ。でも繁殖したりしてくれるとやりがいがすごくあるよね。オーストラリアは今、春かぁ。こちらは気持ちの良い秋。日本は春と秋が短いけど、オーストラリアではどうなのかな。気持ち良い季節が短いというのはちょっと残念。でも、満喫しようと思います!

      メダカ、ほとんど手をかけてないけど随分増えてくれたよ😍猫はやっぱり興味あるみたいよ🤣だから普段はワイヤーメッシュのカバーをかけているんだ。猫だけじゃなくて野鳥とか、トンボの幼虫のヤゴとかの被害もあると思うからね。しかもメダカってこっちで買うと高いんだよ〜。気軽に手が出せないお値段だよ。1匹2000円とか普通にあるみたい。群れで行動する魚だから、最低でも5匹くらい欲しいけど、それだとすごく高くなっちゃうよねー。

      日本もメダカ減って来てそうだよね。こっちでのメダカの値段があまりに高いし、お店でも注文して入荷した分だけ買うって言うシステムが多いので、なかなか普通の人が買えないから、去年自分のメダカを1匹700円くらいで売ってみたら、15,000円くらい売れたよ!新しい環境で元気に増えてくれてるといいな!

      お年頃のメダカのメスは、繁殖期にほぼ毎日産卵するから、うまくやると爆増するよ。まあ、親近交配とかで弱ったりする可能性もあるけど。Yutubeきっかけにビジネス展開する人もいるよね!私が自分のことで忙しいと、ダンナがへそ曲げるから😅これは趣味に留めるつもりだけど、ダンナが自分のビジネスの動画を作って大きくしてほしいって頼んでくるよ。でも、正直自分の興味の範疇外のコンテンツって、誰かが綿密に台本作ってくれないと無理💦
      今日もこっちはさんさんと太陽が☀️輝いてるよ。っていうかかなり深刻な日照りです。畑にタネをまいたけど、何も発芽しない…。そちらは過ごしやすい季節かな?今日も頑張って行こう〜👍

    How to control overflow when rainning?

    • @livelovelaughdiy
      @livelovelaughdiy  7 месяцев назад +2

      This bowl has a small hole at about 1 inch lower than the top edge, and cover the hole with a patch of mesh. So only water flows out but not the fish. You can see how I did it in my other videos “Traditional Japanese Style Rice Fish Patio Pond” or “DIY Japanese Rice Fish Mini Pond”
