To make your trees grow straight up. In the particle system, click Advanced , then in the new section Rotation that appears, set Orientation Axis, to Global Z
Thank you man, life saver.
THX
Was going to suggest the same
This is the first thing I've ever made in blender and my god, as someone with 0 artistic skills + 0 knowledge of blender, this was quite fun to follow (even though it took me way longer than I'd thought it would)
Use Shift F to go into fly mode and W,A,S,D to move with Q,E for up down. Mouse wheel to change flying speed. Left and right mouse to confirm or cancel.
This helps a lot for getting the camera in place.
Jay sweet thank you
No probs but would of thought you'd know this. I thought I'd mention it for everyone else who didn't.
@@Unleashed75 you should try clicking tab when flying
Useful comment. but for those who are using the 2.9 version, i think it's changed to Shift+ ~
Man, I *LOVE* your tutorials... So intuitive & easy to follow

a great and simple one again . Its the flow of your voice that makes it simple. fantastic bro!
Great tutorial as always! Your tutorials are easy to follow and show the most important stuff in blender at the same time!
I love you. I love you. What a helpful tutorial! I started blender a while back with blenderguru. Andrew is great as a teacher, I really respect him. But you are fast and you show the most important things in the least amount of time without confusing your viewers. You are just great. Keep creating awesome tutorials.
This channel give me sense of motivation to learn blender, thank you so much!
This is excellent! You probably want to make the trees point straight up instead of normal to the face and decrease the size randomness a bit, but considering how little time it takes, this is incredible!
Yo! Thanks so much! I just started using blender & this was my first render/thing that I made straight off the bat. Although, it did take me 6ish hours, I found this tutorial easy & straight to the point. I learnt a lot here. Thank you! 😄🙏🏼

If you want to have brown stumps, select the faces on the "trunk" part of the base tree, go to materials, create a new brown one, and click assign. Make sure you have the faces selected when you do that!
@Ducky 3D, jeezus christ sorry for being over 2 years too late to discover this, but THANK YOU! You are a genius~ 👍👍
Great tutorial! I Solved the tree rotation issue by turning on the "Advanced" setting, and under "Rotation" select None. That way they're all nice and uniform :)

Buenisimo, sigo todo lo que subis!
Something you may find useful for the rotation of the trees - rather than manually adjusting the instance object, you can check 'advanced' in the particle settings and then check 'rotation' - plenty of options within there. Helps if you have lots of objects to reference too so keeps it all clean.
Thanks!!!! because my trees are always falling according to the terrain lol
Love your tutorials !

If possible can u use the thing where we can see which buttons u are clicking on the lower corners
When I get it to render out, my trees end up scattered on top of the mountain. Any ideas why?
excuse me mr duck in the beginning you said you were going to use mountain preset but you actually used lakes 2 operator preset, thank you sir
Hey, still getting used to Blender and love this tutorial. Just wondering at 1:50 what do you hit to allow you to click to adjust your camera view with a click and drag? Thanks!
For camera view, click the camera button in top right or 0 on numpad. Click n for the menu, go to view, enable lock camera to view. Just use shift+ middle mouse button to drag and middle mouse button to pan. Shift + f for walk navigation, use wasd. In 2.8, shift f is not the default shortcut. Go see a tutorial for that.
in the camera view the trees are as they supposed to be but when i render the multiply like by a 1000...any ideas how to fix this?
Looks awesome nice one again😋.Also Nathan can u do some tutorials on FX😖 it's just that everyone likes destroying thing I think a lot of us will surely like it
Jardians Alan I’ll see what I can do
@@TheDucky3Dur the best..😆
When Adding the Particles My Landscape And My Trees Are Connected When Trying To Rotate. Is There A Fix For This?
Edit: Figured It Out. Forgot To Select The Tree
This Tutorial Is Awesome!
Has anyone got any ideas of why my landscape disappears in the final render, as it is visible up until then in the preview?
Thank you for tutorial! Tell ma please. Some trees are not in an upright position. How to fix this?
how do you click and drag the screen, I am unable to do that in the current version of blender,
thanks
For some reason, when I join the trunk to the cones, the decimate modifier copies over to the trunk and I'm not able to keep the cylindrical shape like you have it in your video.
THX
In the addon option ( 0:48 ) the tool is constantly making me *refresh* with a button instead of automatically make the changes already made. Isn't there a way to for me to stop refreshing the model?
When applying the hair vertex group, it still appears on my pivot point of the terrain, why does this happen?
