    Hi Gang! This video is about how to go about changing the watch strap on the brand new Garmin 955 solar. It can be bit of a pain but its worth it for the super light weight feeling and comfort and not to forget the ability to then attach quick-fit bands.

    What size wrist do you have? Curious how small of a wrist will start to have overlap of the ultrafit strap ends.

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  Год назад +1

      Yeah.. that’s a great question. My wrist is 16.5cm so TINY and there was about 3mm distance before the strap would overlap and this was when I worn it very very tight. So over 90% of people looking to buy this watch are going to be good I’d say. Hope that helps ⭐️

    Hello. For fénix 6X do you recommend original ultrafit band or the Amazon Topsic? And why? Thanks nice video btw

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  Год назад +1

      Hello Helder! Tbh you will love either! If you’re looking to save pennies then go for the Topsic. If you want the full Garmin experience go UltraFit, I did this and managed to sell the official band on eBay for a good price after a year of use. Both are extremely similar in quality, fit & feel. Both allow you to get the fit perfect for good heart rate data. I found the Topsic to be slightly stickier Velcro but I’ve only just noticed (after I did this video) a slightly quicker degrade in Velcro and band in the Topsic so you might get a few more months wear out of UltraFit if a heavy user 👍🏽 Hope all this helps :)

      @helderlomba9439 Год назад +1

      @@ActiveIdeas Thanks for the reply. In terms of sizing they are similar or Topsic are bigger? (Small wrists) Yeah i think that i get the cheapest one. Big difference on saving 😀

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  Год назад +1

      @@helderlomba9439 I think Garmin's has a little more excess strap so if you have masssssive wrists you're probably better off with that. If you have normal sized wrists Topsic will be fine 👌🏽

    I really dig the look on these bands! I want to eventually upgrade my 6 years old humble 230 to the 955, and I basically have two questions:
    1) Chase the summit did a video on the Tactix 7 and said the nylon band effected the performance of the hr because it's more loose and doesn't grip the hand as good as the normal bands. What's your experience with them? I use the hrm always and I intend to keep it that way but I'm worried about the resting hr and variable hr metric to be effected.
    2) I really love the white 955, but if I want to put one of these nylon bands on it, I'll have to purchase the black color because the watch itself i colored in white or black accordingly. Do you agree?
    Thanks for your insightful videos and keep them coming!

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  2 года назад +1

      Personally my results with the WHR have been outstanding. Notoriously heart rate sensors struggle with people who have darker skin (or tattoos) but I’ve personally had no issues!
      In my own testing I’ve got better HR values with the Nylon strap because you can have it super tight! Better than the silicone QuickFits where I found the strap holes to be too tight (for comfort) and the next on to be too lose (for good HR data).
      I’ve actually purchased both the white and black 955 for testing (see videos). And I think both look really nice with the black band. The black 955 looks more professional and discreet. The white 955 looks very retro with the black band (I love it).
      Anyway.. hope this helps mate 🌟

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  6 месяцев назад

      Garmin released some new “ultrafit” bands in different sizes but I think it was limited from 20-24mm unfortunately. I’d suggest giving these 18mm straps a go amzn.to/495z1tF (FTC in description) ❤️All the best 👍🏽

      @nxel2 I’ve had another deep dive and can’t find any 18mm alternatives without the plastic attachment mate. I’m currently using one of these style bands (with the plastic attachment) with the Suunto race (check recent videos) without bother. It’s definitely more comfortable and lighter than its silicone counterparts. All the best mate 🔥👊🏽

    Hey Gang! Do YOU use a nylon strap?! 🙈 If so, howcome and with which watch? 🌟

    • @e55at
      @e55at 9 месяцев назад

      Not quite a watch but I've been using a Whoop 4.0 for the last year with a nylon band which can be a bit of a nuisance to clean. Especially after a messy football sesh. Went open water swimming a few weeks ago but I decided to forego the band clean altogether and just left the whole Whoop in my gym bag! There are other options available but it's all proprietary accessories and I'd rather not remortgage the house to buy them!

      Ahh I used to have the 245 music, what a watch 😍 So the Fenix 7s bands I’ve linked do come with a spare spring-pins which you can insert into the 245 watch.. they actually list the 245 as officially compatible with this watchstrap with a photo guide on how to attach the pin! Many of the really bad bugs have been fixed. But I’m still experiencing lots of software issues unfortunately. All the Fenix feature differences are still missing too.. That’s not to say this isn’t a cool watch.. if you’re worried about bug issues go for a Fenix, Epix or Enduro 2👍🏽
