Regarding the stickers question - in Canada at least, an AD isn’t allowed to have a watch leave the store with stickers on. They show you the fully-stickered watch, and then remove the stickers in front of you.
It was different in 2005 with my Sub and in 2015 with my Daytona, when I took the watches home and removed the stickers myself. When I got my Batgirl in 2021, the process had changed, as described.
It’s now policy across the globe for authorised dealers to remove all factory stickers, however, we see lots of examples of full or part factory stickers! This is usually the result of a historic relationship with a particular dealer 🙌🏻
If that was really what’s happening then how do these grey market dealer have full sticker watches…? Wake up. Rolex AD sell out the back door for a huge premium.
When Charlie drops these, it’s the sweet spot of my Sunday. I’m 1,000,000% pulling the trigger on this content.

9:03 can I please confirm what you mean on this Charlie? Do you mean that the rubber strap is integral to the watch and cannot be removed or replaced? Or do you mean the rubber strap attaches to the watch in a different way to a steel bracelet?
Sorry for the confusion mate, I mean the straps are not interchangeable on the Oysterflex models and attach in a different way compared with the Oyster bracelet 🙌🏻

The boom of watches is slowing down but returning to normal levels in a healthy way.
During these crazy times, I rediscovered the value of brands like Longines, Tissot, Mido, and Hamilton.
They have a more honest proposition.
If Rolex replaces the crystal on a watch the microscopic coronet at 6 o’clock has a sideways S at the bottom of the coronet. Denoting it’s a service crystal.

Eventually they will, it makes perfect sense for the sub to be on an oysterflex.
I have my old Seamaster 300 on the current versions rubber strap. For surfing it is superb & much easier to clean zinc sunblock from than from a bracelet.

Interesting, I would always think the blue motif is more attractive than the normal blue dial based on videos. Guess i just havnt seen it in person then.
It's still an extremely attractive dial, however, the plain dial simply has a wider potential market. The busy nature of the motif can split buyers 🙌

Hi Charlie, lovely video as always and I think I have finally found the loupe I have been searching for, hope your one is 10X magnification.
My question is on vintage pieces, the Rolex 1803 seems underpriced and undervalued since they are the day date President.
They don't have the quickset adjustment, so which model actually had that feature later on?
They have a nice domed acrylic crystal and many various dial combinations and even factory set diamond dials.
There is a model 18038, is this the newer model or does the 8 at the end just specify its yellow gold?
Also, the 116610 LV 'Hulk' from 2010 to 2020 had three dial variations, I wonder which one will be the most sought after in years to come?
Hi mate, to answer your question the 1803 and 18038 are different models. The 18038 released in the late 1970s features the quickset feature that allows the date to be changed independently of the hour and minute hands. Additionally the 18238 released in the late 1980s features the double quickset feature, that allows both the day and date to be changed independently, so this reference is typically the more sought after of the three for that specific feature.
The 'Hulk' did indeed have three dial variations, there are even some that argue there were four! It's hard to say which will be most sought after, however, historically the first and last of a specific model are the most collectible.

Question: I would love to get a GMT Master from my AD but I realise he will not easily offer this to me. Would it, instead, be wise to show (fake) interest in a Daytona/Daydate in order to be offered a GMT Master sooner? Or will an AD always offer Explorers/Datejusts as first purchase watches?
I’d say Daytona, no way. Also I f you show interest in Explorer or Date and then get the call for what you asked for (which you probably will) and then turn it down, you won’t get a GMT. If you ask for something and they call you, you go buy it, otherwise they don’t take you seriously. Sad truth but is what it is if you want a GMT. Or wait it out and see how the market continues to change.
To show serious intent it’s always a good idea to put your name down for the watch you want and then refuse other watches you’re offered! However, there’s no guarantee either way, you just have to hope you’re lucky enough to get that call sooner rather than later 🙌🏻
Bundling is against Rolex rules for their ADs, so I don't think we'll see that being done overtly. It'll be a nod and a wink type of thing.
The Deep Sea is my weekend Rolex. I wear the black dial though. When I get home Friday night, the Submariner goes in the winder and Saturday morning after my post gym shower, the Deep Sea come out until Sunday night before bed.

12:45 Agree that watches should be worn. My local AD gives watches fully stickered but I wear them with the stickers for as long as I can because I get annoyed at the hairline scratches 😂. I know it’s inevitable but I try to preserve them and look after them as much as possible whilst they’re on my wrist. I picked up a GMT Master II whilst walking past the AD from the window a couple of months ago and despite being my new daily it has most stickers still in place 😂

^ asked my AD ( WoS) to keep stickers on a Yacht Master with Everose gold on a Oyster Flex, if I bought a watch which was available s a walk in. I have bought three Rolexes and two Omegas in 24 months, with a spend of 70k. The Manager, who is great, he refused, as it is a sackable offence. I only wanted the sticker on the clasp retained...

You’re lucky to receive watches with full stickers mate! It’s a good way to retain the quality of the watch for longer, some clients also use aftermarket stickers to the same effect! So happy to hear you wear and enjoy your watches mate, that’s what it’s all about 🙌🏻💯
@davidbrown9947 Its a good idea to have a protective film on the clasp, especially if it's gold. I bought an after market sticker for my gold gmt. The polished links have all got hairline scratches but the clasp would have been in awful condition where it not for the film
What’s happening with the prices of the Bruce Wayne? I hear the prices are dropping.
The prices are continuing to drop, however, not as rapidly as before. The sweet spot I still predict will be below the 126710BLNR! 🙌🏻

Wait I’ve had both my AD purchases de stickered by the staff . Apparently it’s Rolex policy and if you find a watch covered in plastic that’s an aftermarket thing. Please comment.
It is now policy for ADs to remove factory stickers, however, we see so many with a couple they “forgot” to remove (like case back, clasp, crown guards etc.)! When we see full factory stickers it’s usually the result of a very good relationship between client and authorised dealer 🙌🏻
It looks like the market will test the previous low of 2009-2010 if they really produced 2mil watches per annum in the last few years. Thought it was somethning like 1.2mil which is still surprising. Somepne please clarify
Won't happen because of dollar debasement. Everything is permanently more expensive.
No one except for Rolex truly knows. They are not a publicly owned company so they don't need to publish the data.
The 1 to 1.2 million has always been an estimate by those in the industry

Rolex has set up the gray market and flippers for failure! They used them to prop us the prices in the secondary market, they then rolled out their own CPO program and now they’re flooding the market with inventory which means that the gray market will get left holding the bag and Rolex CPO and the ADs will control everything while cutting off supply to the gray market and eliminating flippers….absolute genius!

Who cares if the glass has been replaced. As long as it’s been done properly by a professional with genuine parts, it’s fine.
Also, watches aren’t investments. Rolex, as you say, make around 1.5m watches a year - that’s mass-production - they aren’t hens teeth. Buy it because you like it and wear it. The days of getting a return on watches is long over.
