Imagine telling someone at the beginning of the year Pog would win 12 grand tour stages (could've been 13 if he beat Jonas in that sprint) and would beat the runner up in the Giro by nearly 10 mins and 6 mins in the Tour. His season is insane to think about: 80km solo win at Strade, 4 stage + gc at Catalunya, 30km solo attack at LBL, 6 stages + gc at Giro, 6 stages + gc at the TDF. And there's a chance he's not done; he still has opportunities at the Olympics and Lombardia.

Remco had a really good tour. Rode disciplined throughout. Mostly rode his own tempo in the high mountains and avoided cracking. Finishng only 3 minutes behind Vingegaard is very very good in his first real battle with the two galacticos. Makes me feel that Remco could likely challenge them for real next year. Pogacar was superhuman this year. The most dominating win I have ever seen in the 35 years or so I have watched the TdF. But there is no guarantee that he will be this strong next year. Kudos to Jonas for giving it his all and finishing second despite his terrible injury. Hopefully he will be at full strength next year to challenge Pogi.

Also, Jonas had a massive accident, was in the ICU for two weeks, then had a very short prep time leading up to the Tour-yet he was able to absolutely crush everyone else except Tadej. That seems like a far more suspicious result than someone who's just always been better than his peers since he was 15.

@@BrianWelch-vc7xy Jonas downfall doesn’t negate Pogacar’s performance. 6 stage wins in each of the Giro and Tour in the same season while winning them is UNHEARD of. The last person to win both was caught doping and died of a drug overdose 4 years later. He joined a small list of “elite” riders that are all found of cheating in one way or another. The body physically cannot recover in the amount that it has for him while not using something, hence my comment in response to him clearly not being exhausted. It’s pretty clear what’s going on. Pogacar is a competitive demon...just like extraordinary comeback kid Vingegaard. Anyone complaining about greed for winning is really acting the 🤡; this is a wonderful time for the sport of cycling. And, those who whine about it being all about doping (indeed, I've heard that quite a bit) ard very much in the same boat. We have riders consistently putting in the top performances, at different times/races being supreme (Pogacar most often, surely, but still-). As this is the case, are we to believe only Pogacar and Vingegaard (and often Remco, too!) have access to the special sauce? It's not like there's a secret hot spring only they know about where they go to bathe every so often🤣 The thing to do is enjoy this golden era of cycling until theres actual evidence worthy of such despairing talk.

Pogacar looks absolutely rock solid in the TT position, almost as solid as Evenepoel. He must have learned from Vingegaard last year, when Pogi was waggling all over the place and Vingegaard was rock solid. Jonas was rocking back and forth a lot this year, and that can't be good for aerodynamics. I wonder if Jonas has some residual muscle atrophy from his time in hospital that prevented him from having as good TT technique as he had last year. For me the scariest moment for Pogacar during the Time Trial was when was at 90 km/h at a descent and there were people in the apex of the corner he took right after that. That was so damn dangerous!

I'm so pleased Tadej didn't give Jonas the win. In 22 and 23 Jonas and Team Visma just kept putting the knife into Tadej so the shoe was on the other foot. Tadej just kept the foot on Jonas and Visma throat which is what I would have done. Winning is everything in this sport and time is so precious. TADEJ you're such an amazing person on the road BUT even more so off the road. LEGEND

Look at those disc brakes locking up the wheels. No wonder noobs are crashing more than ever. You need to be a freak WT level bike handler to keep a skidding disc TT upright.

What I don't understand is the following.I know we don't want to talk about it.But look at races from Armstrong.tik tik tik.I sometimes see Armstrong 2.0 by Pogacar ?
I know it is not something that has been proven. But if I lay races against the two side by side.Just do it yourself sometime.....
And then the last race, Vineggaard and Evenepoel all sweating like hell. But Pogacar just comes from the bike maybe two drops of sweat ?
I don't say he uses something.Vingegaard and Evenepoel can also use something.
But i see things I cannot explain....

Jonas was of the meds this year, cause if you remember when he put 1 minute 30 into Pogacar during last year's TT, everybody accused him of doping. Pogacar wins 6 stages by a minute each and it is because he finally got away from zone 2 training and did more VO2 Max in altitude and Vingegaard being stripped off meds was no match *sarcasm not unintended*
