Can we all just appreciate how all of these guys are approaching the age of fucking 60 and they're still able to play at a high level let alone even be able to play this type of music. God, I hope they can keep doing this forever!
As a ‘Tallica “family member” for 28+ years I must say it’s sad to see how they’ve slowed down over the last few years. I still have nothing but respect for them but we can’t pretend the energy level and speed are where they need to be. Yes I think they’re doing good for their age but I remember not all that long ago we didn’t have to add “…..for their age” because they were amazing for ANY age and now that’s simply NOT the case. If you don’t believe me play the 1986 show in Canada (Battery was the first song they played) and compare it to this….then play this song at 1.25 playback speed…..
The moment that spotlight hits James and he starts trashin that riff is the most epic thing ever. It gives me goosebumps every single time ❤ Riffmaster ❤
I have listened to this song over and over, even now when I'm down, it helps me, I don't know why, it reflects my feelings and I feel understood, it helps more than any medicine, thanks James and all the boys, you really saved my life with this!
Metallica never gets old! I've been a die hard fan since 1989. My only wish is that the United States embassy in Cairo would agree on my tourist visa and I could for once in my life experience them live!
Metallica used to have the best song intros ever recorded. For their first 5 albums they managed to tapped into some musical magical creativity. Amazing.
It's amazing to watch the older videos compared the the newer ones. James still ownes the stage. His hair is shorter and he doesn't headbang as much. But the stage presence and attitude haven't missed a beat. James is the GOAT.
This was older son's first Metallica concert, and my youngest son's FIRST CONCERT EVER!! Incredible performance by an equally incredible band. Great show!!
Production quality on these round of videos is incredible. The investment Metallica makes into their fans in unmatched. Thank you Metallica, for everything!
Well done but the best live recording is Rammstein Du hast in Paris. Not because I am a fanboy, I love both, but the mentioned video has the highest live production standard I’ve ever seen. They must be have used 40 cams or more. Alone the drums are packed with 5-7 cams.
@@TheApp9 But there is a lot of difference between that concert and this one. That concert was made explicitly to be recorded as a live album, this one is simply a video from one of their many concerts.
dude the front two pits that opened up merged into each other and everyone was doing like a figure 8 between both pits just smashing into people in the middle during this song. it was glorious man the love i saw from fellow metallica fans made that whole weekend worth it.
I notice when Lars actually does play the double-bass he's playing the rest of the song slightly slower (which sounds like a bad thing, but it isn't), in order to still be able to engage his feet properly. I'm hoping he does the same with Spit Out The Bone: I'd rather hear it at a slightly slower tempo *with* double-bass than without.
Ya man one of my favorites. It was awesome to hear it live. Only thing that pissed me off is I was the only one losing my shit in my section. Crowd sucked.
Second Metallica concert, at the start of the concert, was near the middle of the pit. At the end, was at the front. Managed to get 3 picks at the end. Best concert ever🔥🔥

My son and I were there. It was his first concert and we were on the floor about 10 people back from the first flame, left side of stage. Absolutely incredible concert!! We were blown away with the quality of the sound.

I love you metallica you dominate everything and the fans know it
Exactly. No point listening if ur gonna draw comparisons and hate on him. The guy's a genius and it's his playing that inspired me to play drums, in fact this very song was the first metal song I ever heard and I'd never been so impressed, fascinated and inspired by anything. From that moment I was hooked and I only hope I can give half as much enthusiasm to anything when I'm Lars' age as he does now. His showmanship, energy and stage presence is something to behold
This was the first song by Metallica that I heard live, May 26th, 1986 at the Iowa Jam and Cliff was still with them. James ability to play difficult riffs while singing is unreal
yeah both James and Dave play wicked off time notes while singing. They're both super talented in that regard.
@@corrado it's ridiculous. playing those riffs on their own is no easy feat, adding a full on melody over top at the same time is... mindboggling
yo me hago bolas, no puedo hacer ambas cosas a la vez, no con canciones de Metallica xD
