It can be very intimidating! But once you get over it's off to the races and no turning back! So many great workouts you can do with barbells too. You'll be fine and glad you started 😊

Amennn to the hip thrust issue. Big mistake for me...not making sure my arm pits are shaved before an upper body day. Nothin like looking in the mirror halfway through your workout and there’s a jungle chillin on your armpits
Holy shit, yess. It happened to me too, and after i realized it, of course one guy from the gym staff decides to correct my shape while doing chest press and be a first row witness to my jungle hair
not the same but along the same lines - on more than one occasion I’ve warmed up in a hoodie, started to get a good sweat going, taken it off, ended up half way through the workout realizing the hoodie shed and I now have a thick, dark fuzz sticking to my armpits. lesson learned! lol now I always go to the bathroom if I’m going to remove a layer

Gymtimidation is REAL! I've been a Fitness Enthusiast for several years and was a personal trainer about 10 years ago. There's a gym in my area that I will not go to just for that reason. A lot of fit folk who come off very elitist. Love my gym and the camaraderie of different folks on different fitness levels at different ages just getting it in!

another gym mistake that happened to me recently is to not put on the safety poles (??) on the squat rack. i was squatting and realised on the last rep that i did not have enough strenght to get up. fell right on my face with the babrell on my back... it luckuly didn't hurt, but it was reaaally embarrassing!
I literally never made that cable machine mistake before ( the weight dropping to the ground ) and after I watched this it happened to me the following day and I just stood there and laughed and thought of this video lol then I did it again... right after lol

I laugh at all kinds of little mistakes, when people stumble over their words or when they literally stumble! Myself included! I will laugh out loud at myself for doing/saying something silly even though no one else noticed. I don't really see it as immature, I'm just open to the funny! People are funny, I love it. Definitely not laughing at their expense. Just enjoying funny moments. The other night at dinner I wanted to say grasp or grip. Instead what came out was grisp and grap and I kept saying those two words as I was trying to correct myself. It's so funny to me.

What exercises to do and how with GOOD FORM in an informative video, not necessarily a workout set? Ive doing your videos for the last 12 weeks and love them. Very glad I watched this, I always unload one side of the barbell and then the other, luckily I haven’t gotten to a heavy enough weight that the barbell tipping has been a problem but now I’m prepared!
It is kinda scary because you think they'll be judging you for being a beginner and/or out of shape. Personally it helped me to think that in exchange the gym staff might be not experienced in things I'm good at.🤷♀️ Still took weeks to be comfortable enough to ask for help when I first started started going to the gym.😅
Mathilda the instructors at my gym are super cocky. But it was my mistake for not asking for help because I always had lower back pains after I worked out 🥺
Use low weights or just body weights until u perfect ur form. Trust me makes all the difference. I used to be that person that hurt myself and had to stop working out which sucked. Form is 100% the key to success. Don’t be shy to ask, that’s why they are there

Love this video. The cable attachment part, yeah I did that the other day. Had to hold that bar up with my hand (cuz of course I had the height all the way up) while I adjusted the weight.
Clips: if your doing heavy weight and no one is spotting you DON‘T use clips! You have to be able to let the weight slide of in case something goes wrong and you can’t get the barbell up anymore
Uhhhh no. Make sure you're squatting in a power/squat rack that has the longer rack at the bottom to catch the weight instead of letting plates fly everywhere.
MissMariah I think this is referring to bench press. I definitely always use clips for squats, but if I’m doing heavy bench press and I don’t have a spot, sometimes I leave the clips off, just in case I need to dump the weight off my chest.

another gym mistake that happened to me recently is to not put on the safety poles (??) on the squat rack. i was squatting and realised on the last rep that i did not have enough strenght to get up. fell right on my face with the babrell on my back... it luckuly didn't hurt, but it was reaaally embarrassing!
i get SO embarrassed SO easily. never would've thought about needing to find a heavier bench for hip thrusts. ty fam

I laugh at all kinds of little mistakes, when people stumble over their words or when they literally stumble! Myself included! I will laugh out loud at myself for doing/saying something silly even though no one else noticed. I don't really see it as immature, I'm just open to the funny! People are funny, I love it. Definitely not laughing at their expense. Just enjoying funny moments. The other night at dinner I wanted to say grasp or grip. Instead what came out was grisp and grap and I kept saying those two words as I was trying to correct myself. It's so funny to me.

What exercises to do and how with GOOD FORM in an informative video, not necessarily a workout set? Ive doing your videos for the last 12 weeks and love them. I feel so strong and have lost 14lbs already. Id love to do more of videos that you have with the barbell but I'm still to intimated. Thanks for the great content.

Very glad I watched this, I always unload one side of the barbell and then the other, luckily I haven’t gotten to a heavy enough weight that the barbell tipping has been a problem but now I’m prepared!

My gym mistake was not having proper form generally. I was too intimidated and shy to ask gym instructors for help 😢
It is kinda scary because you think they'll be judging you for being a beginner and/or out of shape. Personally it helped me to think that in exchange the gym staff might be not experienced in things I'm good at.🤷♀️
Still took weeks to be comfortable enough to ask for help when I first started started going to the gym.😅
Mathilda the instructors at my gym are super cocky. But it was my mistake for not asking for help because I always had lower back pains after I worked out 🥺

Use low weights or just body weights until u perfect ur form. Trust me makes all the difference. I used to be that person that hurt myself and had to stop working out which sucked. Form is 100% the key to success. Don’t be shy to ask, that’s why they are there

Love this video. The cable attachment part, yeah I did that the other day. Had to hold that bar up with my hand (cuz of course I had the height all the way up) while I adjusted the weight.
Clips: if your doing heavy weight and no one is spotting you DON‘T use clips! You have to be able to let the weight slide of in case something goes wrong and you can’t get the barbell up anymore
lenapity people should also learn how to dump the barbell when they get stuck
Uhhhh no. Make sure you're squatting in a power/squat rack that has the longer rack at the bottom to catch the weight instead of letting plates fly everywhere.
MissMariah I think this is referring to bench press. I definitely always use clips for squats, but if I’m doing heavy bench press and I don’t have a spot, sometimes I leave the clips off, just in case I need to dump the weight off my chest.

Totally had the bench sliding all over when I first started doing hip thrusts 😂 Started place weights behind it as well to stabilized and that helped but seriously so embarrassing at first 🙈
