Best Portable Solar Solution! (Super C RV Wash Tips & Speed Increase)

- In this episode of Wandering Wagners we show how we added @BLUETTIOfficial portable solar panels to our solar setup and how we use them to charge our RV battery WITH the@RichSolarTalk roof mounted solar panels! We added another @VictronEnergyBV MPPT with some quick connects so we can connect our two 200Watt solar panels together. This will help us better utilize the power of the sun!
Next we borrowed a @DieselLaptops to update the @NeXusRV Wraith Super C RV speedometer to 80MPH! Chances are we won't really go that fast but it's nice to have it there if we need it! Very awesome tool and so much power to wield haha
Next we do another RV Wash but a little different this time. We used @saltsgone because we wanted to test to see if we get less water spots because we fell like the Salts Gone actually cleans better than the soap does! We also feature @DicorCorporation Big and Tar remover and just how well it works to get months worth of bug gunk off of our mirrors, bumper and grill! If you haven't tried it yet we highly suggest everything we talked about in this video. Dicor makes amazing RV awning cleaner as well!

Salts Gone looks like it works well. I may have to try it. Where I live the water has a lot of dissolved solids and I'm sure it will leave lots of water spots. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
As we suspected the salts gone worked awesome and we had very little water spots and it looked much more shiny than usual wash

Salt be Gone must have an additive to soften the water to reduce the water marks. Keep up the great job. Like also the extra solar panels great addition!
The salts gone must have something to help with that because it always looks so much better after washing it with it vs soap and water!

I have two battery power units (different brand) and two solar panels. We use them when tent camping and at the deer lease for power. Also great back up when we lose power here on the Gulf coast due to storms.
They really do come in handy for a lot of different things!
Great solar video... Your solar videos are killing me!!! I'm itching to jump into the solar world but I know we are only planning on keeping our current Class A for 2 or 3 more years! Going to wait until we upgrade to a Super C :(
You could always do the portable panels because you can easily take them with you to your next RV

I really enjoy the solar and Wrath tech videos that you guys produce, its given me some ideas for my 5th wheel. Our factory solar panels are integrated into this Jayco Jaycommand system which uses a Go Power 30Amp controller, so I don't feel comfortable adding more watts/amps to that system. I'm planning to eventually upgrade that system, and bypass the Go Power and Jaycommand system, an do separate Victron components. For now, I'm going to add external solar connections on the side of our RV and run them to an Ecoflow 2000ah solar generator with a 2KW inverter inside. I'm looking to add at least 400W of portable solar panels. Will use this to help power things in the camper outside of the factory 1800W inverter in the camper. BTW Lynn needs a new bikini for RV washing. Maybe a camo version. Ha ha

Love the Wraith! They’re out of my price range but Nexus makes great RVs! We have a regular Class C Freelander but I’m hoping to trade up soon… it’s a freakin nightmare to drive especially in Texas wind (half the time I’m going around 50🤦🏻♂️)!
We love the wraith and it does great in windy conditions because of the steel frame... And the addition of liquid spring really helped that too

They set the speed for tire rating most rv tires rated at 75. With heavy loads people pushing over 75 that’s why there’s so many blowout. ❤

Sweet solar set up, back in the day, we would change button and springs in the fuel pump, believe it or not, my truck got better fuel mileage have more horse power and yes, it could do 100 but the speedo only went to 85 I think. I'm excited to how much solar you get out of the barn, and are you able to run your air conditioner on it??
We don't have enough to run AC but that wasn't our intended purpose with our solar setup currently
@@WanderingWagners oh, I have a 15,000 and 300ah battery and 400w's on the roof, have tried it with adding my portable or soft start start yet, but soon.
If you used I-80 to get to Wyoming, you past by the exit to my place at Kimball, NE (just past Cabela's). I'm 40 miles North of that exit. Our town has a tiny RV Park on the edge of town right next to an Amphitheater & just around the corner from the Scotts Bluff National Monument.
We didn't go through Nebraska this time. We thought we were going to but changed course last minute

No idea... It would probably work but we haven't tried it. If we do we will test it on a small area first haha

I washed my fiver today not as well as you did yours but it is cleaner now. I wonder how much a Wagner RV wash would cost, guessing from the Wagner camp fees it would be $50k per RV and double that for a bikini wash :) I have always wondered if speed limiters are a good idea, the trucks in Europe are all limited to 56 mph or 90 kph which is ironic as the speed limit in the UK is 60mph, anyway when I lived there cars would regularly be at 80 to 90 mph passing trucks that are limited, that being a high speed differential which is quite an issue on a freeway. I am not going to admit to what speed I will drive my car at, but I tow between 60 and 65.
The split speed limits are dumb especially in CA where they have 17 different limits🤣
I'm not sure how much a bikini wash would cost but I should open a side hustle👙😂

Awesome video you guys. I spent a small fortune on a hand detail/wash so interested in this video. I have a side question I picked up watching Matt’s Reviews, Mike what are your thoughts of Nexus Rebel switching to the Chevy Chassis?
Honestly I don't know that the chassis is any different? The international version was a Chevy cab with the international logo on it.
Hmmm It has the Dynamax vs the Cummins Engine. Honestly I’m not sure Nexus is making a full change over. Matt from Matt’s review implied hey did, but the next review of a 2024 Nexus showed the International. Sigh…
@@andysams6690 the rebel has always had the Duramax engine. Only the Wraith and Ghost have the Cummins.
We have had a few Chevy pickups with the Duramax engine and we have nothing but good things to say about it.
Cool. I recall Mike liking the Cummings engine and preferences. Glad you like them, still not sure if it a major change for Nexus or not.

How did you manage the truck's alternator charging the Liths ?
I disconnected the charge line from the chassis batteries for the time being until we get a DC to DC converter. So far it charges just fine from solar as we drive.
@WanderingWagners I agree, I never want to lose an alt just because of Liths....besides the generator can charge too if needed.
I'm having a Wraith configured custom .Is there any chance that Nexus would aknowledge the governed speed and more importantly would they change the setting
They likely won't set the governor to a speed higher than the tires are rated for.

I always tell everyone if you're going to mount solar panels on your roof. Use everything stainless steel it would not rot your lumber away. I had a friend who got it done. And with in fifteen years, he had to replace his entire roof. Question any Wandering Wagners decals/ stickers available for purchase?

Cummins quoted us $1,200 because the engine is still under warranty. Once the warranty is up it'll run $400-600 for the up rate. Allison said that if we up rate they will void our warranty.

An international dealer can do it and would probably charge an hour of labor which could be $100-$200. Check the speed rating of your tires first though or they won't do it.

There is a new product called Release that can be used on all surfaces inside and out . Just a thought 😊 For bug ,tar , dirt water spots ect.ect. 😊 Would the manufacturer not cover you because of the changing of governor?? Curious

Mike just for your interest, check out the videos of Pacific Yacht Systems with Nigel Calder . Yachts and RVs are much the same when it comes down to off grid systems and Calder is the world renowned expert on it . I started with big offshore yachts , living aboard for 13 years off grid , now doing same with RVing

Unfortunately no. We aren't aware of any panels like this that are made in America. Only industrial/commercial panels are made in USA currently (last we looked anyway)
