Visiting Our First LUXURY RV Resort! (Orange Beach, AL) Buena Vista Motor Coach Resort

- In this episode of Wandering Wagners we travel to Orange Beach, Alabama and stay at @buenavistamotorcoachresort244 our first Luxury RV Resort, and it a Motor Coach Resort at that so only Class A motorhomes and Super C RV motorhomes are allowed to stay here, and they need to be at least 32 feet in length.
Luckily our @NeXusRV Wraith 34W Super C RV met the requirements.
I cost us around $200/night and these sites are owned and then rented out by the resort per the owners schedule. We had site 11 and we really loved it!
This park is right across the street from private access to the Gulf beach and it was so easy to access and the beach was gorgeous with white sugar sand.
This park is also close to Alabama Gulf Shores State Park and we took the dogs on a few hikes here.
There are plenty of places to eat, drink, shop etc all within walking, bike or car distance. We did a lot of @Jeep Top off rides because the weather was really beautiful while we were here.
We ate at FloraBama Restaurant and the Tiniest @hooters in the country, to name a few.
The park itself is off the charts NICE! Well kept and groomed, with a lazy river, water slide, pools, indoor pool and indoor hot tub. All of which we enjoyed very much!
We splurged on this Luxury RV Resort but we have no regrets and would definitely come and stay here again in the future.

WE LOVE BUENA VISTA!! My parents bought a lot with a coach house 4 years ago, just 2 lots to the left of the one you rented! #9. They have NEVER regretted it. He is the president of the owners association now and they are always trying to make it better for visitors and owners. Every Fourth of July all their kids (my 2 brothers and I) and grandkids (8 of them!) come for about a week and we fill up that coach house and their RV coach and have a blast. (the best way to get to the beach is a golf cart!! Which they have just bought several for renters use) Thanks for the great review, I hope more people are able to enjoy the awesomeness of Buena Vista.
Oh yeah we remember seeing that site!😍 The people renting it came in right in front of us during our stay. Lots of yippie dogs😂 pretty great to hear from someone who actually owns a lot here!! We absolutely loved it and wish we could swing buying a lot ourselves haha
What a destination. Thanks for sharing this place via RUclips. There were very few RV places listed as Resorts when I used to travel around out our way. The priciest camp-site, overlooking an ocean water fed bay, they called that one site: *The Super-Site* . $100.00 per night. Private non-see-through fencing around the space, had a spa with a nice view, not much else, 😆. Rest of the park was very basic; other sites with the bay view, ran about $55.00 per night. In that area, a Resort hotel stay was $550.00 per night, heated pool with in water bar, etc. (Pretty outdated these days I imagine). (It was many years ago). Thanks again, best travel wishes to you both.
I think there are still few actual RV resorts... Most places just call themselves a resort when they don't even have RV pads just grass etc😂😂 this was an ACTUAL resort haha! Although we do enjoy the basic campgrounds too this one was fun to feel fancy for a bit😁

We haven't had this much fun in a long time!
We stayed at the Gulf State Campground in the middle of May of last year. (2022). We had a View of Shelby Lake and could just see the resort that you stayed at. It's a nice area for sure. We even walked the same board walk as you did. We didn't have a lazy river like you did but that okay had the gulf to play in after driving there. I felt bad for your dogs as they were not acclimated yet to the hot weather. Safe travels.
They were good, they get lots of exercise daily and we were just in Florida before here. We even went on the walk early morning. We walked them a lot at evenings and night.
Lynn, my wife loves fish tacos as well, I love fish but not so much in a taco. The best part of your videos are the pools, very impressive uh well pool design. Really nice resort looks fun. By the way we joined you in diesel we traded in our 2021 Fleetwood Bounder Class A gas for a new 2022 Newmar Ventana DP. Wow, now we know why you love diesel, day and night. Great video, thanks.
Funny thing is, I don't really care for fish that much but I love a good fish taco. Neither of us really care for seafood much either so finding a decent menu along the gulf can be challenging because everything is seafood😂
The pool and lazy river here were so much fun! More campgrounds need lazy rivers imo.

Great video! We have passed that place many times but usually end up staying down hwy 59 at Luxury RV Resort or at Sun Outdoors on Canal Rd. Both are great places too.
We'll have to check it that place next time we are in the area to see how they compare😁

You guys are having ALL sorts of FUN! The doggies are loving it just as much. You just have to get Mike's shoulders and legs tanned before settling back in Ohio next winter. You can ALWAYS tell when it's Summertime on your videos because Lynn gets those slow-mow-bikini shots :) I just booked our next RV outing from our home in Tampa, FL to a GA State Park next month. I can't wait to take our 2-doggies and my Wife and have some FUN like you guys!! Holy Crap 700 DL at a "Campground"! Slide- Lazy River, I would spend that much once-in-a-while. Thanks for sharing :)

The resort looks great with lots of amenities near the beach. Its pricey but worth it for a short stay. I would pass on buying a lot. Looks like a nice trip. I avoid cold water!

Wow that resort is fantastic. We're heading to Gulfport SP next year and it was cool to see that in your video. We have an English Bulldog so we are definitely taking or ebikes and doggie trailer for him.... since he's def not as athletic as y'alls dogs. :)

We live in south Louisiana and love going gulf shores Alabama state park. Lots of biking ! Also love the florida gulf coast !! Even better than Alabama gulf coast. Texas beaches don’t even come close to these beaches in Alabama and Florida.

Is anyone surprised that Mike had a meal of pasta and cheese variety 😂. Looks like a cool place to visit but wow pricey to own a lot. We are similar to where we like our state parks but enjoy an occasional resort. Awesome place, ROLL TIDE!

If you're ever down in that area again there's a little place northwest of there called the Sugar Kettle Cafe. It's the best breakfast I had while on vacation down there (especially their chicken and waffles) and make sure to ask for their homemade sweet and spicy pickles. 🤤

Welcome to the Redneck Riviera guys!!! There is so much to see and do in the Orange Beach / Gulf Shores area. You need to spend 2 weeks to a month there to see and experience all that the area has to offer. You don't have to spend $200.00 per night. There are plenty of reasonably priced campgrounds to stay at. You really should have brought your bikes. We used to go down there every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We live just over the hill in south Mississippi. Enjoy yourselves and keep wearing those bikinis little lady!

I live a hour and a half from gulf shores and we love to bike the trails at gulf state park! There is I think 25 miles of bike trails

Hey, after the hurricane you could buy lots on the beach for $430k .25 acre lot. If you cross over to Al its cheaper. You liked the sugar sand

Don’t know if you visited Cobalts restaurant but they have pretty good views and great food. We love living here in Paradise there are so many great places to see and our beautiful beaches can’t be beat but dogs are not allowed on our beaches.
We did not visit that restaurant this time but we have a feeling we will be back! Loved the area so much!!

Right! It was kind of spur of the moment but I usually always wear a bikini but slipped my mind this time. We have been to Alabama a few times and always enjoy our time here😊
The Best fish tacos are in San Diego at the Fish District, they also have excellent fish and chips.

The lots also have fees, if you want to be there it is nice but you cannot count on renting the site. Have you been to South of the Border? Not sure it is still open, it use to be pretty nice. Stay safe and healthy.
I'm sure but we wouldn't count on renting it all the time but it's also an option to make some money back. We see the draw to buy here but don't think we will make that purchase any time soon😂

Masco you must do I just had my second stroke and it is almost up my Niga made from being able to do any RVing you must is your duty to go and enjoy yourself cold water or not me I’m not a good Coldwater person but if I don’t know, and I was gonna have two strokes and limit my ability to go, I would’ve enjoyed all the cold water I could stand away her to be a Debbie downer but go don’t hold back. You never know when you’re gonna be struck with something but not be able to ever go again.
We plan to travel and camp as much as we can because like you said you never know when things will change and you can't anymore! We know this all too well they life is short so go on the trip!😊 Thank you for the comment and hope you can recover!!

I saw Lynn’s sun burn and heard hot tub. I knew that won’t mix well at all.
What's funny is my skin didn't feel burned at all but it was a little red, but the hot tub had to be 105 degrees plus. We keep ours at home 101-102. It was really hot!😂😂

You're 3 months behind me. We just did Dauphin Island. Took the Ferry to Gulf Shores with the Lectric bikes. My brother owns Scottland on the shore. Love the hi vis shades Lynn. Beautiful place, but I am hearing that too many Florida rv parks are getting to be restrictive like that now. First come, first served reservations seems a thing of the past. One instance shocked us when Red, White and Bethune was turned away from what I would consider a subpar Encore "resort" because of their bus.
This is a motor coach resort so it's to be expected to be exclusive. They require 15 years or newer class a or super c only and we loved it!
They've never heard of the term, "the millionaire nextdoor;" not a fan of the Buena Vista mentality, I would never give them a dime. Glad you had a great time tho!

The back lots on the newest phase are 259,000. The lots in the phase they just finished are 229,000. Better hurry they don’t have many left.

I wonder how much of the $200 per day the owner of the lots get ? If it's a 50/50 type deal and you make $100 per day it would have to be rented out everyday for 6.5 years before it would start " paying " off . Now that doesn't include taxes , insurance and all the other miscellaneous charges . Now you can stay there 1,195 times and that would be the same as the total cost . So if you stayed there 6 day's a year, you would have to go 199 years to equal the cost . Anyways GREAT video as always !!!
