    A really moving documentary about an exciting and super dedicated fighter, Kieran Farrell. Kieran now trains some very talented amateur and professional fighters at The People’s Gym in Heywood and is just as dedicated towards helping them learn to box and achieve their goals.

    Moving documentary you can see how much he misses boxing and has a passion for the sport. The problem with bleeds on the brain is that there's not always obvious signs sometimes you can finish the fight and be shaking hands and smiling then minutes later be on the floor. Adrenaline keeps the fighter going through all the trauma of head shots and then when you calm down your brain finally realizes what is happening

      Thanks! Very true about bleeds on the brain. Everyone's worst nightmare in boxing. Glad Kieran's passion comes across in the film. He's building a quality little gym in Heywood.

    What I great documentary. Its left me with a"what if?" What if he hadn't had his hemorrhage. He really did remind me of Ricky Hatton and how to gave quality fighter Crolla a run for his money it really begs the question "what if?" Loved it and nothing but best I want for him in his career and life.

    Now the years are rolling by me-
    They are rockin' evenly.
    I am older than I once was,
    And younger than I'll be.
    That's not unusual;
    No, it isn't strange:
    After changes upon changes
    We are more or less the same;
    After changes we are more or less the same.
    In the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his trade
    And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down or cut him
    'Til he cried out in his anger and his shame
    I am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains.

    Important message for those looking to turn pro with Kieran Farrell:
    A word of warning! Take it or leave it.
    Kieran Farrell is undoubtedly a hard worker and he has an immense drive to succeed. Objectively speaking, it is extremely impressive to see how much he has achieved considering the calamity he went through in his life. Furthermore, he has good contacts within the boxing fraternity so you’ll regularly see his boxers fighting on big shows such as Matchroom and Sauerland promotions.
    But what you won’t see is the man behind the scenes. You cannot judge a person based on their interactions/dealings with people that are above him or on the same level (ie: other promoters, managers, trainers and officials), rather look to see how they deal with those that are below them (ie: upcoming boxers that don’t have a pot to urinate in).
    So how is he as a trainer/coach? Kieran Farrell himself was a very good boxer that knew what he was doing. He was obviously schooled well and would probably have gone some way. But unfortunately, due to his lack of education, he struggles to articulate what he’s thinking. Because of this you won’t see his boxers benefit much from him as a coach. This is probably why his “prospects” are routinely getting sparked out. A good coach can turn an average boxer into a good boxer and a good boxer into an excellent boxer. Farrell on the other hand has had good amateurs come to him and he’s ruined them. His mentality as a coach is “my way or the high way” and this will only suit a few people. Personally, I never sparred at his gym but even during the sparring sessions, you’d think you were at a fight, there wasn’t any real coaching going on. It was very unprofessional and repulsive to see a coach cheer along to the spar when one guy is clearly getting bashed up.
    Having taken private classes with him, his strongest point during the session was him telling me what to do whilst drinking a cup of tea. Privates are supposed to be about what YOU want to work on, not that which is convenient for the coach so he can have his morning brew. Also if I cancelled a private session 6 hours before due to a valid reason, I’d still be charged. But if he didn’t turn up to the private without any notice, it will just be a wasted journey for me. Very hypocritical in his dealings. These are all signs as to how he’ll behave when the stage and the money is bigger. Think!
    Boxing is a business and where there is money it will always be difficult to find good, honest individuals. But you must have some level of trust with those that are the closest to you in this treacherous business, namely the coach, the manager and the promoter.
    Based on my observation and dealings with Kieran Farrell, I can say that he is a nasty piece of work and a thief. He can never be trusted. He’ll make false promises and paint a beautiful picture for you; one he cannot fulfill. Once you’ve put pen to paper, you’ll start seeing his true colours. In my case, God showed me way before things got that far, thankfully!
    This man is stealing from boxers on a low level, how can he be trusted once you make it on a higher level? Even the numerous boxers Farrell was ardently promoting have now left him, and now he’s only left with a few glass chinned journeymen.
    Hey Farrell, how can you expect to be successful when you stand on others to get to where you want to go? Rather, each time you try you’ll be put back down a few pegs by God, who sees the evil you do to those in a helpless situation. Essentially, Kieran Farrel is a scally from the estate with a suit on. Don’t be fooled!
    I won’t forgive Farrell for the money he stole from me but he’ll have to pay for it on a day where the currency won’t be pound sterling.
    Reflect!
