Gyeongbok-gung, the palace of the Joseon Dynasty (Since 1395)

This is the palace built in the center of Seoul by Taejo, the first king of the Joseon Dynasty. Four main gates were built around this palace. It burned down during the war with Japan in 1592, but was restored by Emperor Gojong. There are always citizens and tourists in the square in front of this palace and nearby traditional villages. I think a trip to Seoul should start at this palace.
