You don’t have to remove the pin/needle. Clean the other pieces right away and then run spray hot water thru the gun to ensure it’s clean. Works like a charm and takes just a couple minutes. This thing is awesome and the overspray isn’t too bad.
Your video was a lifesaver for me. I found the instructions a bit tricky, but your video offers a crystal clear explanation about how to use it and how to clean it. Thanks a lot man
I just received one of these units and in the process of doing a dry run on assembly and reassembly I found I couldn't get the nylon 'needle' out and before I broke something, I though let's see if anybody has had this issue. The first vid I watched didn't show any cleanup at all but I got lucky with yours. Thank you very much as now I know your expression and mine were identical when initially trying the T tool to get the paint needle out. Now I have yet tried it, and the one thing you neglected was the reinsertion of the paint needle. I also received a 4th tip with mine with a tiny brass tip and a brass paint needle (might be good for things like automotive spray or water-based polyurethane spray (which is the reason I bought it). Anyway, very good review, and probably excellent considering it's your first outing with an HVLP sprayer as it is also my first one as well. Again, thanks for a good review.
I just got this gun. This video was very helpful. Question about the air intake filter. I'm not sure if I missed it in the video, but I can't seem to find anything on replacing it anywhere online or where I can get replacement filters. It's like this filter does not exist.
Great video, thank you! I (believe) I have followed all instructions for set up. I wanted to do a test run with water. I filled the container just over half way but nothing is coming out except for air. Any ideas on why this is happening?
@@shaw9673 thanks. Just really I king it to spray Thompson’s water sealer on flower boxes I make and also polyurethane on some other projects. I ran a test with water today and it seemed like it would do a good job. Thanks and good luck!
The other reason to mix in a separate container is so you can pour it through a disposable filter. That keeps clumps from clogging the paint gun, and ensures smooth transfer to your painting surface. Thanks for posting this review.
Ur video is extremely helpfull, thanks, however please could u let us know what is the use of 3 different coloured round knobs attachments in front and what's the use for the copper pin ??
I’ve had this sprayer (can’t tell you how long) I’m finally going to pull the trigger no pun. I plugged it in it works wish me luck!! I use it more for furniture flipping not walls , but I might try it
All paint spraying solutions have the issue with overspray, HVLP like this, compressor, even rattle cans...just something you have to plan for. For cleanup of sprayers with latex, do it immediately and a bucket of warm soapy water to drop all the bits and bobs into as you disassemble the sprayer makes cleanup much easier.
I just got mine last week and have been painting my basement today. Unless they changed something, I'm not getting too much spray out while doing close up spots. I'm actually on a break from painting and wanted to see if it was easy cleanup. Looks like it is. The manual says to spray soapy water, then plain water through. But, glad your way worked out well. Let's me know cleanup is easy.
Is there some trick to changing the nozzle? I wanted to change to another size and I have to push it in really hard to tighten it back down. When I do get it tightened, the trigger doesn't work so I'm not getting any paint. What am I missing?
I finally figured it out. When you switch to the 1.0 Grey copper nozzle, you also have to switch to the 1.0 copper spray tip. The instructions were not very clear about this.
Hi sir thank u for the video, in addition to many effective comments, one thing, u have to take off the the spray filter after painting to clean it too
When spraying, you always paper and tape off any areas you don't want the paint to fog over on. Cardboard you may have laying around is fine, or newspaper, old magazine covers, etc.,. Also cutting in certain areas with a brush, bringing the brushed paint in about 4 to 6 inches, depending on the job is something important as well. Again - it just depends on the job. Lastly - on cleanup - you should always run clean water through the spayer to really get the old latex paint out of areas you cant reach, or paint thinner for oil base paints. Really good review, other than that one thing. It should always be mentioned from the get go because newbies for whatever reason dont think that one through - and leads to a mess - LoL. I was once a newbie myself (but you didnt hear that from me) heh. THANK YOU for doing this review! I just ordered one from Amazon and happened by your video and found it useful for when it arrives. I now know what to expect from it and it looks great!
Thank you for watching. I suppose we are all newbies at some point. I fear I will be a newbie for the rest of my life haha. When I am ready to paint the inside of the workshop here I will be doing a lot of taping and papering. As for running water through the sprayer to clean it. . . Brilliant. Thank you for that tip.
I have recently bought a Ginour 600w paint sprayer it comes with 4 different size nozzles, What is the viscosity flow rate (Din/s) for each of the 4 different nozzle sizes, As this information is not covered in the supplied manual
yes of course it will fill the second container that you get with the unit and put hot soapy water in it and spray it all through onto some old cardboard or paper . rinse the one out that you used to paint with and you've saved yourself time and effort
Not bad but the gray tip is the 1.0mm nozzle size (smallest size) and to work correctly requires the gray spray tip (not the white one). Hint the two gray tips go together (spray tip and nozzle).
do you know how to clean well the white internal pin, which is extracted, from color to varnish to wood, iron ... ??? with the pin supplied for cleaning does not fit well ....
To be honest I am not sure. I just added water until I reached a consistency that would flow through the cup correctly. I think that you could do this more effectively with practice.
Bought this recently. Wow what a "throttle" it has. I'm painting bi fold louver doors and cant get it to layer easily like I used to with a lacquer or enamel gun. If I could back down the air flow, it would suit this particular job. But you're right, it's for projects that demand big and quick volume.
to get a reduced flow, you have to keep the viscosity thick. I had to follow the "Product" reduction rules, not the Sprayer rules. Allowing a 70 second viscosity run out caused excessive dripping. I would guess the mix I needed for the bifold doors was 120 seconds or more.
Watching your video was better than the instructions. I was surprised how much I needed to thin the latex paint. I just put my first coat on some interior doors. 4 doors first coat on one side took a full container. In the future I will thin out the gallon of paint and not by batch so I don't have to custom mix each batch. The gun did splatter more than I hoped but I think it will look good with 2 coats of paint.
Was considering to buy this or a electric hvlp but thanks for confirming that I shouldn't for higher quality work. Many strangely suggest these create less overspray but I see airless is #1 in spraying & coverage with minimal overspray, but even better when driven with high end pump with high air flow but precise or even a hvlp automotive sytem spray gun with compressed air. That research is finally over so I don't put less than perfect finishes down. small detail work may be left for a high volume fan tip airbrush though & a perfect covering type spray paint.
I just unboxed mine today and was trying to extract the pin too. No luck. I did find a Note on page 25 that speaks to putting it together with the "bumps in a vertical position" Looking at the small pin, there are bumps all around it... Ugh. I do not want to break it... Did you have any luck since your post?
hello, Nice video, but things are missing (Paints for wood, metals, .. Demonstration ...) to clean well inside nozzles you can use thinner thinner No or Yes You can ruin, wear out the plastic over time ? and using color for metal, wood, paints, to clean well always inside nozzles and other with water you can not. What do we use ?? Thank you Good day Andrea
So, after watching some videos - I noticed my sprayer arrived with more parts than this video showed. Mine came with an additional needle and nozzle head with copper/brass parts instead of the plastic parts. I had to change them out myseafter learning sprayers apparently work better with these pieces in copper. So, while you do have to change them out yourself, at least they have corrected this and added copper pieces in addition. (Ordered mine last week)
Nice. Thank you. One thing I have noticed is that you should be careful putting the needle back into the sprayer. Dont try to place one of the three nozzles on if the needle is not all the way in.
Nice video. I don't think I'd use one of these. It's looks like better version of the Wagner hand held sprayer. Ok for little jobs. I have an X5 airless sprayer - lower end but great quality. Cleaning is very simple, and it uses standard tips. It did cost $300, so a bit pricey for projects. I've done a number of houses, rooms, and also cabinets.
This sprayer seems to be good for a large wall or something that you dont mind getting splatter on the edges. For the cost not bad. I should think your $300 machine is going to give better results. You get what you pay for.
you can use thinner-diluent to clean the jets-injectors internal sprayers, and tubes painted paints for wood, iron ... you show me to clean the part of the inner white injector, with a pin? thank you Hello
Use the gray nozzle, it's the only one with of the 3 with a metal tip and a very small hole, that one is for small detail, you just didn't try it. It would have been a lot better if you had tried this in advance to give the right information, especially if you are going to review a machine.
I have actually bought one...honest opinion..roller bits it so far..Painting for 10min with 1 kg paint in hand is not comfortable..sprays very slow .only good thing about it is to use it for furniture but honestly painting a wall takes ages...do not buy it if you think you will paint it fast..I think the person who says is amazing tool never painted professionally. If i advice someone to spray fast and efficient buy wagner or graco (pump on the floor only gun in hand)
Richard Lug isn't full of shit. Latex paints are water-based, you should thin them with water or a thinning product designed for latex paints. Traditional paint thinner is for oil-based paints. I bought one of these. After reading the instructions I concluded that I needed to swap the needle and the nozzle for the paint I wanted to use. No matter what I did I could not remove the needle fitted in the factory. The user manual had no instructions on how to do it. Sent it back as I felt I would end up breaking the needle, the key, the seat for the needle or possibly all three. Might have been fine if I could have used the 'default' set up. Sent it back and got a refund. Ridiculous

My spray gun will not draw up the paint can you suggest a reason why.
I have not used this one in a while. Is it new? Do you think that paint could have dried in the tube from a previous use?
love the video but I don't like the fact that you have to water down the paint. You will need to do additional coats to match the original thickness.
Yes that is a down side to a sprayer like this.
Much check out if the paint can be thinned enough without problems.
You can spray more, if you needs.
It is pretty fast, I suppose.
Thanks good and informative. Perhaps a big bucket of soapy water you need to get those items in the water as fast as possible after you finish using.

Had it been a $320 item would that have given you the hard on you wanted? Lol what a dumb comment
