how do you know how to adjust the fluid adjustment knob and air adjustment knob? How would you tell when you test on scrap wood whether to increase or decrease one of the knobs to get the right sweet spot?

One tip I recommend is don’t try to spray your “project” all in one go , it should take u about 2-3 coats for your “project” to be finished

Leah, I have to thank you. It's been awhile since I sprayed, probably 20 years. You are the only one who walked me through in a very concise manner, not the other instructors weren't good, but you were the only one who explained the gun air pressure properly. Adjust with the trigger pulled to 20 lbs. I knew I was doing something wrong when my primer came out like a big splatter gun which was a result of setting my guage to 20 psi before pulling the trigger. Thanks again Leah.

Don't put the teflon tape up to the end of the thread. Leave 2 lines of thread. One of the advantages would be to avoid the teflon eventually breaking down and contaminating the air circuit. Also easier to screw the parts together and the teflon to engage into the thread rather than being pushed up and away.
Great video, I am learning a lot from it.

The top threaded part of the air Regulator is a ball seat and should not have thread tape on it.

Thank you for your clear, direct explanation that does not assume any prior knowledge, which helps me because I don’t have any prior knowledge. I especially appreciate your encouragement that I can do this and your suggestion that I begin by practicing with a “low stakes” process like spraying water.

Good video Leah you have covered to basics of spraying, but if I can give you a couple of tips. Firstly widen your fan ( you will also need to open the flow) and overlap the previous pass by one third this will result in a more even coat. Pull the trigger with your middle finger and hold your index finger on the side of the gun. This will help the gun feel more natural and give better balanced.

You can't lay paint down that thick if you're painting something like a car. It will cause orange peel, if you want a smooth finish you need to do thin even coats.

I always Run ten metres of of steel pipe on a wall before it reaches the water trap. Remember it's a water trap. Not a vapor trap. The vapor needs to turn to water before it reaches the water trap. Moisture can really destroy a paint job. I've been painting cars for over thirty years.

Very Good lady, I like the way you teach. You are very good. Lots of instructors aren't good teachers. They know their business, but sometimes forget the student doesn't. The student can get lost at any stage & then be lost forever. You have the wherewithall to keep the student informed about all the idiosyncrasies one might face in a project. As I said, very good. I'm preparing to do a project & I am stuck on go. I have hundreds & hundreds of hours in this project & the possibility that my finish coat might be my nemesis has me frozen in place. I'm using Aqua Coat AquaThane... & a HVLP / air compressor

The gravity gun is not gonna work if you have to paint something like a ceiling or something that is up so then u have to use your first gun. Both has their advantages and disadvantages. *** You will have waste in both guns***

Orlando Alegre if you use 3m paint bag and create a vacuum you can use the gravity fed upside down as well. If spraying ceilings and walls you should use airless
