Hey Max! Thanks for creating this video, it’s been a huge help! I’m preparing to take my PMP exam next week and have a few questions which would really help me out with my studying; 1. How much terminology/definitions did you have to know/memorise? I.e. stuff like precedence diagramming, ‘start-to-start’’, analogous estimating, contingency reserves, cost aggregation, scope baseline, schedule baseline, cause & effect diagram, rule of seven, Tuckmans ladder, maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Agile prioritisation techniques etc. 2. Did you have to calculate the critical path at all? 3. Beta distribution / standard deviation / triangle distribution - did these formulas come up? 4. Was there much on ITTOs , i.e. what tool to use when… 5. I’m finding the PMI PMP online Practice exam harder than expected, did you also? Feeling a little overwhelmed with the sheer volume of content so any feedback/help would be massively appreciated!
Hey Alex - thanks for commenting! My thoughts below. 1. there are usually a handful of questions that may test those nuanced-concepts.. if you somewhat know what those terms are referring to, it'll be very helpful 2. my exam had no calculations, but i would advise you should know the general ones/how to do critical path 3. i had no distributions/formula on my exam 4. you don't need to memorize ITTOs, but you should have a good understanding of the process mapping groups & "next steps" 5. i found the PMP PMI practice exam harder than the actual one don't be discouraged. it's a lot of content, but a lot of the exam is just understanding the process groups, knowing the logical next steps, and understanding the PMBOK mindset. goodluck!

Hi Max, a greatly structured content you got here, thanks for the tips and for trying to help us as exam takers. :) However, I am really wondering about this "Mindset" thing. Could you please specify more what you mean about the right mindset? How can obtain it?
Hey Nadia! Great to hear from you. By "Mindset" I mean, how the PMBOK wants you to think about the exam. For example: if a question says "what should a PM do?" vs "what should a PM do first?" those could mean 2 different answers. You can train and develop this mindset through doing PMP practice exam questions (my recommendations being the TIA & PMI PMP Practice Exam ones)
Max, what would you do 'differently' if you could knowing what you know now to increase your chances of passing the 1st time? Also, any recommendations that you could suggest now that you may have thought of since then?
Hey! No changes - I’d still follow the exact process I outlined in my PMP study guide. IMO it’s the most effective way to study & pass the exam. Goodluck!
Hey Max, congrats on your results and thank you for this study guide, it really helped clarify a lot of questions in my mind. do you think project management is a good career path for someone like me who does not belong to the engineering or IT field?
Hi Joel! Thanks for commenting & glad you found the video helpful. Project management is a great career option if you enjoy being client-facing with teams and have good organization skills. It’s hard to say if it’s the “right” career path. Like many things in life, you may just have to try it to see if you like it!
Thanks for commenting - I personally didn’t read any of the PMBOK versions & felt prepared for the exam. If there’s a more up-to-date version, refer to that & do what’s best for you
Hi Max! Thanks for this! I have been looking for tips/guide on how I would start prepping. Questions, 1. For the exam schedule, do you schedule it after the approval from PMP? 2. Also, Once you completed the PMP practice exam, will you be able to preview the questions, your and correct answers as long as you like, meaning you can go back to it again during your free time to check? Thanks!
Hi Weng - thanks for commenting & glad you found the guide helpful. After your PMP application is approved, you’ll be able to schedule your exam. On the PMI practice exam, you get the answers after you select the answer choice so you’ll be able to see immediately. Hope this helps!

Hey Max!
Thanks for creating this video, it’s been a huge help!
I’m preparing to take my PMP exam next week and have a few questions which would really help me out with my studying;
4. Was there much on ITTOs , i.e. what tool to use when…
5. I’m finding the PMI PMP online Practice exam harder than expected, did you also?
Feeling a little overwhelmed with the sheer volume of content so any feedback/help would be massively appreciated!
Hey Alex - thanks for commenting! My thoughts below.
1. there are usually a handful of questions that may test those nuanced-concepts.. if you somewhat know what those terms are referring to, it'll be very helpful
2. my exam had no calculations, but i would advise you should know the general ones/how to do critical path
3. i had no distributions/formula on my exam
4. you don't need to memorize ITTOs, but you should have a good understanding of the process mapping groups & "next steps"
5. i found the PMP PMI practice exam harder than the actual one
don't be discouraged. it's a lot of content, but a lot of the exam is just understanding the process groups, knowing the logical next steps, and understanding the PMBOK mindset. goodluck!

Do you have the code for PMP 261 questions?
Hi Max, a greatly structured content you got here, thanks for the tips and for trying to help us as exam takers. :)
However, I am really wondering about this "Mindset" thing.
This is useful information, but you should update the content based on PMBOK Ver 7
Thanks for commenting - I personally didn’t read any of the PMBOK versions & felt prepared for the exam. If there’s a more up-to-date version, refer to that & do what’s best for you
Think I’m gonna try this out
Goodluck!
U have my sub.
