Hi Max, great video. Thank you for making it. I registered for the PMP last year and was surprised that I had a few weeks left before it expired so I looked for some tip videos and used yours. Booked my test 2 weeks ago. Studied for 9 days while working 50-60 hours/week and this video was key, if anything as a confidence booster. I watched Ricardo Vargas' video a few times and then used a course on Udemy by Andrew Ramdayal at 2x speed. EDIT: I Passed!! ------------------ March 25, 2024 - Starting my PMP journey today using this video as the base. Will come back with an update once I pass! ---------- Took the exam yesterday i.e. Nov 1, 2024 (yes, months after my first comment lol). It took me about a month though, not 2 weeks, but mostly because I was faffing through my studies and not taking it seriously - until the last 4 days before the exam where I just crammed like I have never crammed before! 1. I spent the majority of the 3 weeks dawdling through the Udemy course, learning the flow and order of the 49 knowledge area (Ricardo Vargas has the BEST video on this). 2. On the last week is where I really took it seriously because my goal for 2024 was to get the damn cert in place. Note: I'm on a career break, so I could dedicate whole 4 days (Mon to Thursday) on the PMP prep. - Monday: Went though the first 30-40 questions of David McLachlan's PMBOK 7th edt. Briefly glanced though the Agility Practice guide (focused on Predictive vs. Agile. vs. Iterative vs. Incremental) - Tuesday: Took the Authorized Online PMP Practice Exam. I thought this was a true mock of the actual flow of the exam, but it's a set of 260 questions, not timed, with the passing score set at 80%. I passed with a 95% scorecard. - Wednesday: Took a couple of the 15-set mini exams on Study Hall. - Thursday: Took the first mock exam on the PMI Study Hall mid-morning - got 75%. Took the rest of the day off from studying because my brain was fried. - Friday: Exam day. Passed with T/AT/AT. What really helped was my note taking. Trying to understand concepts whilst putting it down on paper really helped me retain a lot of the information. Every time I came across something I didn't understand, I wrote it down. Hope my summary helps you on your journey. I'm thinking of getting the ACP one now. Good luck!
I just passed my exam yesterday. Can't thank you enough for the study guide and all the tips. Thanks Max. (P.D. - took me 5 weeks to study but totally worth it studying at my own pace )
Hey IceCube17ful! I was looking for a comment such as yours. Considering MaxMao's video is over 1 years old, would you say following the video study guide outline is still relevant to the PMP exam in 2024?
@@510Christopherhi there. My answer is Yes. I followed the same study plan and used the same resources he suggested. But the most important and something I discussed with other people that passed the exam too is to answer each question with the “Servant Leadership” mindset. Don’t answer/think as you do in real life.
Max, thanks for sharing your PMP certification journey. I followed your plan for most part and was able to pass in 2 weeks as well, but I do have good experience in Product development space, that comes in handy to understand. You did amazing job documenting the step by step tutorial, sharing your word document easy to follow your 35 hour plan and excel sheet with key concepts which you wanted to review. You're life saver! Appreciate your hard work in the exam and sharing with us how to do it in 2 weeks, which otherwise seems quite daunting task taking up months of effort.👍

Hi Max, for the PMI exam questions ($99), did you need to sign up for the PMI annual membership first? How long did it take for PMI to approve your application? Congrats on youe certification! :)
Hi Amitha - thanks for commenting! You don't need to purchase the annual membership to buy the PMI practice questions. PMI application approval can be from a few days up to a week I believe.
Hey just wanted to come on here and thank you, this was the first video I saw and the only one which I used during my PMP journey, I used your study guide as reference and passed AT within 20 days of getting started! Great work🎉
Max, Thank you so much for your detailed video. I'm following your advise and I've seen noticeable gains in my knowledge. The combo of the Ricardo Vargas process videos and the online game was a game changer. I've build to much confidence from those two alone. You mentioned the PMI's Exam Questions, I just purchased it and I'm a little thrown off. I was hoping to use this as the last piece of my study plan just like you did. However, I'm finding the questions to be weirdly worded and awkward. The explanations just seem off as well, now I'm questioning everything I've studied up to this point. I'm a little nervous if this is the closest representation of the actual exam questions. I'm finding it hard to navigate, as there are no back buttons, and it doesn't save your place when you leave and comeback to start again. Did you use this as a practice to mimic the real exam (completing 180 in one sitting) or did you just use this a extra review? Just curious if you felt that you gained a tremendous amount from the PMI Exam Questions? Looking back, do you think you would have passed without those questions?
Hi Asha, thanks for commenting & hope all is well. Glad you've found some of the study tips helpful. Personally, I felt the PMI practice questions to be harder than the actual PMP exam questions & the PMI practice questions were very helpful for me in preparing for the exam. When I was studying, I broke up the PMI questions into 2 different parts (180 questions and the remaining ones in a separate session). It is inconvenient that you get the answers immediately after selecting the answer choice, but I truly think it's worth the effort to do all the PMI Exam questions. Don't feel discouraged if you don't perform as well on the PMI Practice exam. What's most important is taking the time to try to understand the way PMI words questions & why the answer choices are what they are. Hope that helps!
I just passed the PMP exam on 1/23/23 and the practice test questions were harder than the real thing. I used the practice test as a study guide after I took it. With the question and answer with explanation provided a great tool to get in the right mind set to take and pass the exam.

Hey Max. Thanks for this video, it was super helpful. I passed the PMP yesterday and the resources you shared helped tremendously, especially your advice on the PMI Exam Prep course. Usually for certs I like to use exam topics, but currently exam topics has like 870 questions, and there is a lot of disagreement on what the answers should be. The best thing to do is to get into the mindset like you suggested instead of question and answer memorization. I really like your efficient, no nonsense approach instead of beating around the bush like so many others do. For folks taking the exam, don't get discouraged during the exam, just power through. I actually thought I was failing while I was taking it, but I was above target. Not bragging, just saying with the vagueness of the answers, sometimes it is hard to know where you stand. Marq, thank you for the kind words & for sharing your accomplishment! Super stoked to hear you passed, congrats!!
Just passed my pmp!!! Your tips really did help thanks a mill 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Just passed the PMP exam today! I followed your study guide. Thank you Max for this awesome video!
Congrats!!
Used these tools for 3 days (only did first 100 agile questions), passed above target my first try! Thanks!
Congrats!!
Just wanted to express a huge THANK YOU!! I watched this video, followed your notes, signed up for the practice/mock exams that you mentioned, and happy to say that I successfully passed the PMP yesterday. But your input and suggestions shared here were my primary tools. And I comfortably passed in the 'Above Target' level. Thanks so much!!!! Joe C.
Congrats, Joe!! Happy to hear about your accomplishment and I appreciate you calling out how you utilized the guide in the process. Best of luck with your future endeavors
Was there multiple selection answers on the test? I am doing good on the practice exam almost every question correct. You said the exam was easier. We’re the questions similar, worded differently?
I'm gonna do this. I'll be back to follow up!
This content is absolutely amazing!
A huge thanks to you, Max! I followed your study plan and passed the PMP today (first try!). Your generosity in sharing your experience and resources are GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Max, I passed my PMP in August this year on my first attempt. I just wanted to say a huge thank you and appreciate your effort sharing study plan and the resources!!
Congrats!! Thank you for sharing :)
Hi Max! Your video was incredibly helpful in strategizing the second phase of my exam preparation. On April 1, I passed the exam with 3 above targets. Thanks for sharing your experience and approach 🍻
Congrats Konstantin! Happy to hear your accomplishment & glad you found the video helpful.
Passed my PMP and followed your approach. I found it economical and steiaght forward. I found the exam easier than i had expected.
I passed my PMP exam last week and I came back to thank you for this video that really helped me. It didn’t take me 2 weeks. Let’s say 6 months ( I am 44, I work full time and I have 2 kids). I also have ADHD, OCD and PTSD lol but still, I managed to pass 3AT from the 1st try. Thanks again and keep it up!
Congrats!!
Really helpful to hear alternative timelines like yours! I have a feeling mine will take months too!
@leftorium no need to rush anything in life and everyone learns differently and at his own pace… its not a sprint but rather a marathon… good luck!
I have ADHD pretty bad, what was your strategy ?
Hi Max, Thank you so much for sharing how you passed PMP!! I started to prepare PMP this summer but did not do very well on any simulator test, I found your video and readit six weeks before my exam and started to follow your plans pretty much the same, especially PMI exam practice, I passed PMP on 2023/10/18!! (sorry for my late comment, I went back to Taiwan right after exam )
Thank you again for sharing your experiences to help so many people!! Hope all is well with you, happy holidays!!
Thanks for sharing Ellen! So happy the guide helped you pass & happy holidays to you and your family!
EDIT: I Passed!!
------------------
March 25, 2024 - Starting my PMP journey today using this video as the base. Will come back with an update once I pass!
----------
Took the exam yesterday i.e.
Incremental)
- Tuesday: Took the Authorized Online PMP Practice Exam.
Good luck!
high five, the same here
🙌🏻 me joining the this troop too, best wishes
On the Path now as well
novedades?
Good luck team. I will start my journey soon but will study sparsely until I really crack down later. I plan to study 5+ hours a day
Thanks Max , i have passed my PMP with 3 ATs. Just followed and executed your plan :)
Congrats!!
I just passed my exam yesterday. Can't thank you enough for the study guide and all the tips. Thanks Max. (P.D. - took me 5 weeks to study but totally worth it studying at my own pace )
Huge congrats Jose!! Thanks so much for sharing & glad the guide was helpful 😊
@@icecube17ful Thank you for that reply! Very valuable tip.
Hi Max. Thank you. I followed your recommendations, and I passed the exam. I spent about 3-4 weeks since I tend to take longer. Great job!
Congrats!! So stoked the guide helped you
Max, thanks for sharing your PMP certification journey.
Hi Ankur - thanks for commenting and sharing your journey. Huge congratulations to you for your accomplishment. Rooting for you!
Used this and passed my test yesterday. Thank you!!!

Congrats on your accomplishment!!
Great work🎉
Congrats!!
@@themaxmao Fantastic! Thank you so much for responding.
@@themaxmao Thanks go much again. I just wanted you to know I passed my exam yesterday, very grateful for your tips and advice.

I just passed the PMP exam on 1/23/23 and the practice test questions were harder than the real thing. I used the practice test as a study guide after I took it. With the question and answer with explanation provided a great tool to get in the right mind set to take and pass the exam.
Waow Big big thank you Max I have just passed my PMP exam in my first trial thanks to your advice!! I used 2 weeks, I followed your study guide and added more David video questions (the 150pmbok and the 100waterfall video). Great content Max straight to the point and valuable resources. Keep going!

@@themaxmao Thank you again😊
Good luck, and thanks again Max.
