This guy is a legend! He completely untangled the mess in my head about these 49 processes. Why didn't the PMBOK Guide structure it like how Vargas did? This video is a must watch for any PMP aspirant. I would say watch this video first before doing anything else.
Yes totally agree with Kimberly Tholl...! You have clearly stated what I have to say. Ricardo is right on the ball about our thought about the PMBOK 6.0. Thank you so much Ricardo....Cheers
Totally agree. Am taking the classes from PMI directly and have 2 more guides to explain the PMBOK. Just more confusing. This man is a true teacher. Thank you for your comment. I guess I am not crazy after all!....

Wow. After the 1st 5mins I simply cant stop watching! and Im not even into project management. im just a programmer. Didn't know that project managers have these things on their mind. I thought they where hired just to do 1 thing.... to ask the question "hey is it done yet?" everyday
You are right. Project Manager will behave like “is it done?.. please follow up and get this done by today.”. All these are only to get PMP certifications but in reality no project manager knows anything.. they just want to promote the project to production as they agreed the go live dates...
@@syedjawahar8542 dude you have zero understanding of project management. What is explained in the video above is what a PjM breathes day in and day out. We ask is it done that's what is on the exterior. But the storm of pressures and milestones and deadlines and what not we go through the inside is a different ball game altogether. The flow what he mentioned is what a project manager goes through day in and day out and since folks like you do not understand project management (which precisely you proved it here), we ask one line - "hey is it done?" PS: It's just a clarification.
Well you're actually correct.. In the end that's what most managers actually do.. These courses teach you about how a gun is made, and in most projects, the gun is already there, they have people who need to know how to aim and shoot and how much to shoot etc
@@krishnamohan4036 There are few who are technical but mostly they don't go through that phase of development so they cant understand the pain of developer or the technicality so what Syed Jawahar is talking about are those who didn't even program a single line of code so if the technical person tell him in there language they cant understand.
😂 My guess would be that your Project Manager was probably having this discussions with the key stakeholders on the project already, or was not professionally trained and just treated the project like operations.
Oh my sweet lord, thank you! I've probably wasted a hundred hours trying to understand the word salad of the PMBOK guide and PMI-provided educational resources, and this is the FIRST time I have come remotely close to understanding how these processes are supposed to actually be applied.

This video is fantastic and is a MUST WATCH for anybody studying for the PMP, regardless of how you are earning your 35 hours for your application. Worth noting regarding the downloads - the numbering scheme is consistent with the PMBOK for the "canvas" download, but not so much for the "process flow" download. Regardless, EXCELLENT explanation, and thank you for taking the time to do this.
He's the master of clarity!! There are people naturally gifted with this talent and Ricardo is one of them. Thanks a lot for your availability to share your knowledge, much appreciated.
After being a Process Engineer and an entrepreneur, I can confirm that NOTHING in real life is as structured as this diagram. I am so glad you always say "everything is fluid", because in reality, it is SO fluid. On the shop floor, you cannot think to yourself "ah, let me go look at what my PMBOK flowchart says, then maybe we can perform Qualitative Risk Analysis" LOL; if you do that, the employer will give you your PMBOK in your hand and walk you out the door hahah. I am glad that you always says "this is a GUIDE, not exact rules"
This video helped me understand PMBOK and pass PMP in Dec 2020. I lost a count of listening to this video, A LOT. Thank you Ricardo for this generous support! Much appreciate, from Mongolia 🇲🇳
Brilliant video. He actually makes sense out of the PMBOK word salad. And incredibly generous to share the flow charts on his site. Of all the time you'll spend prepping for the CAPM exam, this might be the most useful hour.
My heartfelt joy when I saw this content! cannot believe how underrated this video is-> let's all like and share to get the youtube algorithm going up! this guy deserves a lot of credit.
I started studying for my CAPM two weeks ago and found the PMBOK very overwhelming. I got stressed and that made me procrastinate my daily study sessions. Gradually, stress has made me lose concentration of the material and I started doubting my capabilities. I was super lost. This video has so much clarity and order in how projects actually happen that it has given me the boost of motivation and inspiration to pursue my dream of passing the exam by the end of this year and celebrate my victory! Thank you, Ricardo!
Thank you for this. I passed on my first attempt today, I could literally visualize this and recall a lot of this information during my exam. Much appreciated!
OMG!!!! THIS is how every instructor should start explaining Project Management!!! This is like the Geico commercial, instead of saving on car insurance, you just saved me STUDY TIME on the PMP exam!!!! This made it all come together so brilliantly! Bravo and thank you!!!!
I paid $895 to get a 4 week course taking me through what i need to pass. He basically just read slides to me! This guy right here is explaining it to me so it actually makes sense! Application and logic of the PMBOK guide is more important that memorising all the slides/pages etc. I wasted my money!
Man, this guy is a legend, Ricardo you must apply for the PMI board of director, I am going to vote for you. You are brilliant and you help me pass my exam with this video 3 years ago. I received an email to vote for PMI director and I searched for this video to see if you are the Brazilian guy who is asking for a vote. Hope to see your name on the list next time.

I was SO CONFUSED studying in a chapter by chapter method. I'm only halfway through watching this and I already understand it better.
Hi Ricardo I would like give you a huge Kudos! I've used your contents for prep finally I've got certification 🙌🙏
Congratulations!
You're great Ricardo. You simplified s whole book in over 700 pages with a great depth of practical and logical examples.
😊 thanks super
This video was able to turn something so boring and convoluted as something super easy, logical, and engaging. Thank you so much!
Every pmp aspirant should watch this. This guy is great. Thanks for the explanation.
"word salad". I oh, so, agree.
today I passed PMP and this material helped me a lot to understand the processes, thank you
even as a PMP for over a decade - this was the most well spent hour in a long time - well done
My heartfelt joy when I saw this content! cannot believe how underrated this video is-> let's all like and share to get the youtube algorithm going up! this guy deserves a lot of credit.
Thank you for your service! Passed the CAPM Exam yesterday 🥳🙌🏾
Congratulations!
Hello, I'll be writing mine in 14days. Please how was the exam and what else did you use in preparing apart from this video?.
Best explanation of the 49 processes by far! Thank you!
I passed my PMP with 2AT and Thank you for sharing this video which really helped me in my concepts.
Excelent Exposure! The best 54 minutes ever spent.
Thank you for this. I passed on my first attempt today, I could literally visualize this and recall a lot of this information during my exam. Much appreciated!
You are the goat I literally watched this did 2 practice exams and scored above target in 11/13. No PM experience 😂 literally an engineering student
Ricardo... I must thank you. I was able to pass the CAPM exam. Thank you!
Wow, I'm only 25 minutes in and already have a better grasp than I had in my 3-day crash course. Fantastic work, Ricardo
OMG!!!! THIS is how every instructor should start explaining Project Management!!! This is like the Geico commercial, instead of saving on car insurance, you just saved me STUDY TIME on the PMP exam!!!! This made it all come together so brilliantly! Bravo and thank you!!!!
I like Ricardo’s passion for sharing his deep understanding of PMBOK processes. Thank you
Every time I watch this, I fell in love with Ricardo.. I wish all teachers become like him...
Unfortunately, I didn't see your name on the list but as you can see there are millions who watched your video and you need to be rewarded for your outstanding work. Hope to see your name on the list next time.
Michelle. I was board member and PMI Chairman in 2009. Now it is time to the new leadership lead PMI to the future :) But thanks for your kind words. Very much appreciated.
I purchased PMbok 6th , saw hoo more than 700 pages to read and learn but this video provided a concept of 700 pages in few minutes video. Thanks Ricardo 👍
I LOOOOOOVVVVEEE this guy's enthusiasm! I would usually never stay interested through a 1-hour RUclips video, but this guy is awesome!
Thanks! Passion for what you do is at the center for me. Take care!
With you Ricardo, i am super confident that i will pass the exam for my first attempt. I am going to stick on this each every single day and i will make my comment again after exam. WRITING THAT YOU ARE A LEGEND IS LIKE EATING PIZZA IN THE WEEKEND
Just came back here to say THANK YOU!! I passed today (17 Oct 2020). I have a giant poster from your website that I had printed and used to study. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I would gluck gluck 3009 combo you if I could bro. OFFICIALLY A PMP!!
I’m 15 minutes into the video, and just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for your explanation, so far all the concepts are very clear!! Thank youu
One year of studying, two weeks before my test I watch this and wow just wow
We are in the same boat.
This video helped me tremendously. Finally, someone put the activities in a logical sequence that makes sense!!!! I wasn't really able to visual it until I watched this. I created an outline of the steps Richardo lays out with the ITTOs for each activity. Yes, it look a long time, but having that document as an overview and study aid really helped me pass my test. Thank you Ricardo - you are the BEST!!!!!
This is the most comprehensive, lucid, and spot on video to understand the PMBOK 6th edition. Impressive job!!
I agree with M.A., Ricardo deserve a Noble Prize. Usually I don’t wait too long to prepare for any exam and even for this, I only had 10 hours to prepare. I was upset until I saw this video, Thought wouldn’t make it this time. But man I did it, thanks. You explained PMBOK better than PMBOK itself.
Finally someone who explains this in a way that makes sense. Thank you so much for sharing and making it accessible for free!
Thank you Ricardo! Passed my PMP today with Above Target for all Domains. ❤ I'm a visual learner, this is really helpful!
Thanks a TONNNN... Vargas !!
Passed my PMP today with ABOVE TARGET in all process groups. Only i can understand that how important is your video in my success.
While some teach you how to memorise Ricardo teaches you how to understand. I wasted time unsuccessfully attempting to memorise. Understanding is made easy after watching this.
THis resonated with me. ¨The framework is there to support your project NOT you have to support the framework. Flexiblilty/Agile¨
Wow I’m talking the CAPM tomorrow and in all my time studying I’ve never understood these processes more than i do after watching this video. THANK YOU
Update: passed above target. The visual of this table was sooo helpful while taking the test 💃🏻
I only came to watch a few minutes of the video to save it for future references and end up watching the whole thing. This is a really engaging video and I’m impressed in how he summarize the whole book in a chart. This make everything simple. I’m still going to read the book as he suggested, but I recommend people to watch this before reading the book. It give a strong foundation.
this man is the absolute truth! passed the capm yesterday after watching this video about 3 hours beforehand. this video really simplified everything and put me at ease just before crushing the exam. got above average in most categories.
Ricardo has more passion for Project Management than I have for anything else, ever.
I passed my CAPM in one week because of you - thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
Great job! Congratulations!!!
Amazing video! It might be the only video you need to watch to understand project management and the concepts for the PMP. I'd like it more than once if I could. Watching this and practicing questions will definitely suffice to pass the exam.
I just watched this video and tomorrow is my CAPM exam, I really wish I had seen this video earlier!
A good test for you!
Hey sis! Updates?
Did you pass?
You have literally saved me weeks off of my PMP study time. I sat through a boot camp and knew I needed to map out the process groups to understand relationships (I am a visual learner). Thank you!!!
I just saved this video in my save list to watch later because not with my senses now. Without watching much I can say @Richardo, you really made it so easy for me.
Thank you Sir....great video...helped me a lot...cleared my PMP exam yesterday!!
Wow Ricardo, this video is by far the best summary of PMBOK 6 I have seen so far... the way you visualize, summarize and connect the concepts is amazing and extremely helpful. Thank you for putting this together, including the process flow download
Thanks Ricardo! For explaining PM processes and it’s content in such a simple way. Highly recommend for folks preparing for CAPM and PMP.
Absolutely the best presentation available! Ricardo's website provides even greater resources, a true legend in his field!
Brilliant way to explain the 976 page document :).....Hats off!!
