    Hey ricardo i understood the kanban board very well thanks to you , but a little confused about how can we show or track dependencies on kanban board, as Gantt chart the dependencies can be tracked and are much of need in the project.

    Can we use it for construction? If yes, what's its efficiency in comparison to takt plan for construction

    How to handle revisions, move them to todo or if we move them to doing what happened to the new item moved to doing from todo?

    • @rvvargas
      @rvvargas  Год назад +1

      You can do in 2 ways. You can create another column called review and move it to there. Another option is to put them in the parking lot and handle it later when it is reviewed. I personally prefer the first option. Ricardo

    Thanks for the video. Wanted to ask how does one accurately determine the number of maximum tasks to include in the column which you said is an important criteria to use Kanban.

    • @rvvargas
      @rvvargas  Год назад

      This is a tricky question. You need to 1. understand the delivery capability of each individual in the team, 2. if you do know, I suggest that you start guessing a max limit and register every week/2 weeks how was the actual numbers. Then you adjust your limits accordingly. This is the way I do that. Of course that in the first weeks it will not be perfect, but over time it becomes more sharp. 😃I hope this helps. Ricardo.

    Thanks for your explanation, but I have doubts about how can I know the limits os these numbers?

    • @rvvargas
      @rvvargas  2 года назад +1

      Leandro, this is the tricky part. You must understand how big is your team and how big each work item is. It is important that you work hard on keeping the "Post-it" at the same level of magnitude, in order to simplify the development of limits. But it is not direct. Many times we use previous information and also the knowledge of the team/seniority to calculate that. It is the same challenge we see with predictive approach. Thanks again for reaching out.

  • @vladar2623
    @vladar2623 2 года назад

    Why should I mark the column 'to do' and 'doing' with any kind of maximum numbers (of tasks)? They do not have same complexity so sometimes 'doing'' can have 2 tasks, then 4, then 1... Depends. I am not jepardazing the Kanban methodology by excluding these numbers.

    • @rvvargas
      @rvvargas  2 года назад +1

      Dear Vla. Your question is relevant. You can make the kanban without the control of WIP, however you will lose a great chance to see and understand the limits you have to execute the work. Of course that one column can have 3 items and the other 5. This is exactly what we do to control the follow of work. Many times we apply Little's Law and MRP to calculate these numbers. It is like a "project production line" Cheers. Ricardo
