Ow, hit so hard, "to always trust your mother's instinct". I had a feeling that my 7 month old daughters squinting and grimasing wasn't good, but heard from everyone around that she's going through a neurological phase. The pediatricians said the same. But when she was 8 month I couldn't take that feeling of something being very wrong and I took her to the emergency care ward for children (against everyone elses wishes). Had an amazing doctor who did everything, EEGs, EKG, blood samples.. And an MR.
The MR found a brain tumour the size of a peanut in her tiny cerebellum. It was surgically removed when she was 14 months as it grew fast, and then a second surgery at 18 months as the tumour grew back.
Today she's cancer free and none the wiser, taking on life like a trooper. All thanks to mother's instinct, I guess. :) Thank you for voicing the importance of listening inwards Emily!!!
Well done mum, a gut instinct is there to be taken note of.
i’m 14 and my mums pregnant, getting induced tomorrow, i’m just watching as many vids i can so i can help and keep it as simple and as less stressful as possible(i know that’s hard as i’m the oldest of 3 already😂)
How is the baby then 😊
Have you come across dunstan baby language? It's really good for people who want to help with new babies.
Omg update pls!!! 💜🥺
Play a song to calm the baby in your Mom's belly. When the baby is born, play the same song. Babies always remember music. Also, sing to the baby. My ladies are 17 and a few weeks ago I played the song I used to sing for them. They broke down in tears. Music reaches a place most things can't. All of my children grew up with music. Your siblings are blessed to have such a wonderful big sister. GOD bless your family.
he’s absolutely GORGEOUS 🥺 i’ve helped as much as i can and he’s so good and hasn’t been much trouble at all! if anyone wants to see him dm me @kelsey.leanne.x on insta
I'm a father of a beautiful 1 week old girl and she keeps me worried every minute she makes the slightest sound this has been very helpful thank you so much
Im currently in your shoes now!!! 8 days in
Almost 3 weeks here. Your post is 8 months old so I'm sure things are going great with your little one. Im thankful for content like this, after a few days you learn the rhythm
2 Days here, worrying-level high
Currently in your shoes and 2 days in. I really really some piece of your advice and experience. Am unable to sleep and it's affecting my work. Any slight movement and am up. Am turning into a mess.
Arturo Mendoza father of 3 week old I know what your saying my brother !!
As a mom of 4, I like a lot of these hacks. As a pediatrician, I have seen several babies burned while being worn while cooking, and an unexpected splash occurred. Also, there should be nothing in the crib except for a fitted sheet. Also stocking paracetamol or acetaminophen is ok, but if a newborn has a fever, it is considered a medical emergency, and the baby should be seen immediately to evaluate for a serious bacterial infection, such as meningitis. I liked the other tips, though! My older kids often acted as the "germ police" also! :)
Cutest baby birth to 3 months development: ruclips.net/video/ay8mXjVWc04/видео.html
I just got into "wearing" my baby and she's been with me while I do everything EXCEPT cooking for this very reason! Even when I'm making something really simple that won't splash up, i take her off anyways just in case because you never know!
My Pocket Pediatrician a mild fever isn’t indicative of anything serious and it’s best to not administer Tylenol, as this depletes the body’s antioxidants in order to detoxify chemicals
@@hannahscott6604 I don't know what you mean by "mild fever", but anything over 100.4 could indicate sepsis, or a serious bacterial infection like meningitis, which can be rapidly fatal. if a baby under 30 days has a fever higher than 100.4, they need to go to the hospital, get bloodwork, a urine test, and a spinal tap. Fever must be taken seriously in all babies under 6 months. The consequences of missing the diagnosis can be fatal.
My Pocket Pediatrician 101 is not a high fever. It’s just indicative of a virus.
Oh my gosh, you are so dramatic.
I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my first baby I'm gonna be a single mum but I'm not bothered the love of my life is right in my stomach growing and I'm so in love with her I can't wait till I hold my little angel in my arms
Congrats! Please keep me updated
Loving the Unknown human inside of you is one of the greatest feelings ever. 💕 you will be an amazing mother trust me😉
Just an update i have 5 weeks to go till my little boy is here i cant i forgot I even commented on this video all those months ago and just came across it now and look whos comment was in the section 😂 your video really is helpful and im glad that i have your great advise 😁😊
congratulations , all the best for you and your little one
You found out the sex of the baby in 9 weeks?? Hmm it's usually 20 weeks
wrap them up like a little fajita
@@Dezire4Lust the cutest burrito you'll ever see.
u do NOT want to swaddle your baby ever.
tightly swaddled babies aren't happy or sleeping, but are under high stress and dissociating.
this also has negative effects outside of mental and psychological ones:
birthofanewearthblog.com/please-dont-swaddle-your-baby/
like long term hip issues.
imagine u getting physically locked down, not being able to move (which tight swaddling is), while u are still also extremely helpless.
the tighter the worse, and it should never be done, babies and u want to be able to move around freely or at least somewhat freely to as said avoid extreme stress and dissociation.
cataria no, that is so wrong. Get a real source instead of some blog.
@kristina weagant
there is a list of 23 sources on that article.
containing studies and medical articles.
can u please read, before u randomly say "thing bad".
i can only assume u didn't even scroll through the article as to miss references.
and if u actually say the article is worthless, even though it has 23 sources to go by, then sth. is very VERY wrong with your definition of worthless and i HIGHLY suggest u reconsider this way of looking at data.
to say it again:
PLEASE READ REFERENCES!!! before saying "thing bad", ok??? can u do that please?
cataria sorry but, mothering.com isn’t a valid source.
This was great. As a dad to be with a month to go before due, I really appreciate this. Nothing cheesy, no old lady teaching you, and most importantly honest good advice.
Canna Cam good luck , babies are huge fun 🤩
Paediatrician here on a neonatal placement. Kind of stumbled onto you video and was totally ready to "debunk" some recommendations but you hit everything on the money!!! Fantastic video with great tips and everything is very factual!! Well done. I'll recommend new parents to come here :)
With my daughter we place a clean nappy underneath the old one before changing so that any accidents mid change are always caught in the new nappy and saved a mad clean up especially in the night during the early days. I love your videos and you're such an amazing mum.
But then you're just replacing one dirty nappy with another?
"When in doubt, get it out!" 👌 Hands down, best advice!!
Teacupladyxx I agree😊
Teacupladyxx amen!
I have a 9 day old. That's my new philosophy!
Literally!!!!
I’m not due for quite awhile and I’m still freaking out because I don’t know how to care for a baby. Videos like yours help so much. I’ve seen so many other channels that only suggest items that are outrageously expensive, with very little baby info involved. It’s nice seeing someone that cares for the babies and the parents and I understands the prices
"Don't be afraid to ask visitors or guests to wash or use hand sanitiser before holding your baby..."
Watching this confined in 2021: ...what's a visitor?
As a newborn father, I wanted to compliment you on this video: very well done! I learned a few neat tricks in this video; equally due just kudos is your creativity with that baby change roll with the socks. Thank you!
What a beautiful bunch of baby hacks! I'm a nanny and a mom. I must say that I love your "trust your gut" instinct. That is the best advice for new moms! I love the clothing bundles! What an awesome way to keep an outfit altogether! I never thought to remove a messy onesie by sliding it down instead! Thank you!
Man, these informations are greatly helpful to a brand NEW DAD! Yes, my baby just born 3 days AGO! My wife and I have a long way to go to keep my baby healthy! Thank you for publishing these very important informations! I love it!
I just had my first kid and I'm the dad and I'm here to learn 😯
Cesar Vargas : Good for you. Dads should be more involved with their baby infants.

same here bro!
As a newborn father, I'm glad to know that I'm doing everything right so far. Was looking for new tricks and tips and found out that I'm already doing all of these except the bundle of clothes part but I will soon be doing it. Thank you.
It has been 11 1/2 years since my twins were baby's. You have GREATLY refreshed my knowledge and have TOUGHT me an few NEW things. Thank you so much! Also.... Your baby is sooooo CUUUUUUTE!!!!!!
I’ll joining the mommy club soon enough...you make me feel so at peace. Seems like you have everything down like a pro!!!
As a father I can tell this is the most complete and useful video I’ve seen yet! Thanks 😊
Ah love this, amazing tips on the clothing bundle and zippy! xx
Your baby is the most precious little guy I have ever seen.
Taylor Allen John Anstrom lol
Good advice Emily, I agree with absolutely everything you've said! I worry about mums getting over-reliant on breastfeeding apps when, as you say, just switching a bracelet or clip from one side to the other is all that's needed.
I like how this goes straight to the point.
"Winding" means burping, apparently. That's a British term I've never heard before.
ACGreyhound04 yes
Yea. Adopt it.
I was over here like ....”they need some air..or...”
I thought it meant farting.
@@rosaparker7634 "passing wind" yes is farting but just "winding" is burping :)
I haven't been blessed with a little bundle of joy just yet.
But I loved this video. My sister has five boys and I've taken care of all of them - but there were some things that this video did really help me with once when my Fiancé and I are blessed with a little one.
Thank you!
+Maddy M thanks so much for watching Maddy! I hope it happens for you soon xx
I’m a first time mom to be. Currently just past 14 weeks and just found out I’m having a sweet baby boy too! These tips really helped me I’ve been looking for sound advice as I don’t have much family or friends available. Thank you for this video 🥰
Have this all ahead of us with my amazing partner! We’re expecting our first child in January and I’ve never been more excited in my life!!
Absolutely loved this. Thank you so much! It was sharp, in point and no time wasted :)
I love how angry newborns look lmao. My newborn always has a grumpy look on his little face.
social parasite haha you’re so right, my daughter just turned 6 weeks old and no word of a lie all photos she seems angry or grumpy lol, whether she’s grumpy about being introduced to the world I do not know 😂😂😂
My baby was a happy old man...he looked curious too.
He is wondering why he had to be sent to earth. Lol. Heaven rocks😗🤣
My hubby says she makes my faces... I like her everything weirds me out looks
I’m a dad father of a 2 week old and I enjoyed this video.it had great tips and great demonstrations as well thank you for taking the time to make this . I know I’m years late but it was still very informative. Thank you your family is blessed to have you as a mom ! Cheers 🥂
I’m only 17 weeks so learnt so much in just 7 mins! Great video, thank you for posting 🤗
'If in doubt - get it out!' haha love it. LOVE the baby bundle wrap up! I know this is an old one of yours, but it's still brilliant! Thank you. I've got a 2 week old baby boy, Joshua!
Lavender can be your best friend! It helps sooth the baby and help them sleep. A little eucalyptus oil in a diffuser can help them breathe at night when they are stuffed up.
in what form are you using the Lavender? Kindly Regards
@@cosmix303 my sister drop a few in his son bath basin. You can also smear some on his pillow. Just a small quantity tho
That to-go change of clothes roll-up is GENIUS
I love how short, sweet and extremely informative this video is, thank you!
I’m 12 weeks pregnant with twins 🤭excited but nervous, thank you for this video
Hello my dear. How are the twins? And have you had much sleep lately? 😊

Good look! I wish the best for you and your blessings!
Newborns! Adorable little squished up things, that don’t come with an instruction manual! Love it, Emily!!
Thank you, for the last statement you made about just snuggling & enjoying your baby. I had a little rough patch, but my husband just simply said, "Your his mother" & that made me realize I'm his world & he needs to be mine. Now, I hold him & remember that I should enjoy it now before he's too big. ❤️
I love how you push us to enjoy them since this phase passes by so fast
My daughter was born December 4th. I’m just trying to learn so I can be the best father I can be.
It's all natural just get on with it
This is great thank you?! I'm due in two months so I'll be rewatching!
Having a boss that no gives you reward, I feel it! Great job mother! 😘
Thank youuu for getting right down to business! So refreshing to not have to skip the first few minutes to find the information I wanted. 🙌🏼
I stocked up on so much when I was heavily pregnant with my youngest (2nd child) but rolling up the clothes like that is an amazing idea! It's so true as well that they aren't newborns for long, my youngest is 6 months now :(
The clothing bundle hack is genius!!! Did you come up with it yourself?
I was laughing at that because I've only seen it on pinterest for how to make a civvies roll for the military (t-shirt, underwear and socks) - I never thought about applying it to other things like this!
one more thing I'd add to the clothing bundle is a clean diaper so it's all in one place so you can just grab it out of the diaper bag and not have to worry about trying to find a clean diaper in the bag. Also great if you have more than one child using the same diaper bag but different size diapers
Oriana Waldren
Oriana Waldren j
Oriana Waldren nope I came up with same idea after my c section and my hubby went back to work. Since I was in pain and couldn't walk often I kept the things needed close to me
Love your channel . Very helpful . We just had a baby was born at 30 weeks and he is very healthy this is my first child and am excited as ever to get him home. Just wanna say my son is 3 weeks and 2 days and has been smiling non stop when mom and i speak to him it's a complete pleasure to see him do it brings tons of joy to my heart. Thank you both for making these videos, above all yours are most pleasant and calm. You have taught us some new tricks we plan to try out. Thanks again
Your videos are so helpful to me. My son is due in exactly 4 weeks and I've never felt more happy and excited in my entire life. I haven't felt nerves yet but I suspect I'll get that when I'm in labour considering itd my first time
So so so many amazing tips in this video. I am about to be a mum for the second time and even then I did not know many of these. Excited to try these out ... What a geek am I?
+Curly Proverbz ha ha Thanks so much for watching! So glad you liked them. I need to make a follow up to this video xx

I scrolled past this video so many times but his facial expression in the thumbnail just drew me in. He's too cute! ❤️
Your accent made this 10x more satisfying lol congratulations he’s breathtaking with the most stunningly blue eyes I’m so excited to meet my son so I’m sticking up on all the knowledge I can get before he arrives
As a dad to be, I found this video fantastic. Very informative and succinct. Who the hell is giving all the thumbs down 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you so much that means a lot x
Please do more of these! I'm 12 and I love to see your family grow and grow! Xoxo
I started watching your channel when I had my first baby boy who is one month younger than Jackson. Now I have a 3 weeks old second boy and am very happy to come back to tour great and genuine baby updates and mom tips👍🏻💙💙👶🏻
Where was this video when I needed it the most? Bless, thanks for the upload.
I’m pregnant with my first baby and I’m learning so much from your videos! Thank you for all of the tips xx
I LOVE the change of clothes roll-up idea! Thank you! Such a sweet and helpful video. Mine is now 7 weeks but a lot of this is still useful.
Thank you Emily. I was a new 1st time mom one year ago and had very little support. All your baby videos were so helpful and informative!
My baby girl is due in 6 weeks and this was great thanks! I also watched your hospital bag video and am now fully ready to go! Thankyou for your tips, super helpful for first time mamas!👍😃❤
I’m 17 weeks and seeing the baby got me all sweaty eyed
I like the sheets idea, thank you!
I love how you are informed and straight to the point 🥰🥰🥰
This has been so useful!! I’m due my first baby in August and really needed something like this - thanks for sharing!! 😁
Great video! So many useful tips in here! I'll refer back to it when my baby boy is here x
Thanks so much xxx
Nadiya Nanoha baby probably isn't acty using their cot at this young age. Looks like she has a co-sleeper next to the bed.
mandmauckland zzwwweeee
Nadiya Nanoha So long as blankets aren't loose there shouldn't be an issue she was doing a quick demo so it's important to keep that in mind, also I imagine the toys would be removed before baby goes to sleep.
This was helpful! Will definitely be using these ideas when my baby is born in January! I especially love the clothing bundle tip. I'd never seen that before!
This was golden. Especially the little clothes + sock bundle + ziplock bag, and the app listing temperatures and layers to wear. Thank you so much. 💗💗💗
18 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and absorbing all the info. 💗💗💗
Congratulations! Thank you for watching x
Just found out I’m coming up 8 weeks, clicked on this video to find out what I’m in for...no idea what you’ve been saying for the last 7 mins - that little bubba is so gorgeous, he has me all mooshy! 😍
Thanks for making this! Brand new first time mama (10 day old little boy) and didn't have the advantage of an in-person parenting class because of the pandemic. The winding and clothing bundling tips you gave were especially helpful! I think our little one may have a stuffed up nose, so I'll have to try the saline solution too. Thanks so much! ♡
Thank you for sharing!!!! I'm due June 10th. I've learned alot from watching this
What a fantastic video! I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first and I love your channel!
Thank you for this video! I‘m 16 weeks pregnant right now and I am already so ready to meet my baby. 😍
I am a gran to 6 week old grandson. I love to keep up to date. Very helpful. Thank you. J

I had my first at 18, I used terry towelling nappies which I boiled in a Baby Burco and I boiled bottles and teats on the hob.
Everything is easier now, disposables were rubbish then. So, I learned every nappy folding technique, I bought study bottles which, not only stood up to boiling but getting lobbed across the room when they got bigger! Cheap ones, I’ve found, break at the screw top. You don’t want milk in your carpets, especially if you live in the first floor and you have floorboards! Rancid, sour milk smell takes some treatment to eradicate, learned fast.
Mother’s intuition is everything, not only when they’re sick but I used to say what time he’d wake up, be right and pee off the older mothers! I was looked down upon but I put so much work in, researching everything, before it hit me like a speeding buffalo. So, researching helped but not as much as my intuition did. Trust yourself. If a scatty teen like I was can switch it on then anybody can.😁
As a WIC nutritionist, you were spot on with everything. Love it!
Shes only 2 weeks old and she smiles so happy love the video hope to she more
Thanks for the tips, my baby is almost 3 weeks old and this is my first.
