Why is lower boot discontinued?
Due to the small tolerances and the silicone tube being stiffer than stock, installation of this item was a bit difficult. Due to this the part had to go back into the research phase to find a solution to this.
I need a Heat Shield by its self for my 330xi e46. where can i get one?

i cant find silicone intake boots that fit my 2000 328i

I recommend this type of colder intake for that car, I put a color and take the dining stage one package, but every time I wash the car I have to be very careful as my air filter is directly by my tire about 5 inches from the floorIf any water gets in there it screws with my mass airflow sensor for a couple of days, BMWs will not run after this happens until it has no moisture in the system.
Is there a water proof air filter bag you can put on the filter to prevent this?? I plan on putting my intake lower near the fog light but not using a whole kit

Im either putting one of these mishimoto air intakes in my 2004 e46 convertible or I'm gonna go with K&N, haven't made up my mind yet... any ideas? I have the s54 with smg 2 6 speed transmission and borla dual shotgun exhaust, lowered sport suspension with a more mean stance and stability, the model however is a 325ci so it's like owning a sleeper, people hate me when they instigate a race at a stop light, always dust them and they see nothing but taillights or takes no more than 3rd gear and then same effect they get smoked, the m54 that is in this video isn't bad but I prefer my s54
I have a 04' 325ci convertible also, with sport package, but you have a better drive train than me, I bet its fun!

did the check engine light come up? and if so how did you take care of it as everyone i know who used a cold air intake on an E46 got a check engine light instantly
Hey Joseph! This unit is a complete bolt-on that functions perfectly with the stock tune and can be installed in one hour using common hand tools. It's safe to use with the stock tune as it will not hurt air/fuel ratios under load.

Why is the airscoop reinstalled in the end? Is it neccessary?
The airscoop will funnel fresh air toward the intake to help with the intake temperatures

I tried to use dish soap and a couple other things to Lube it but I found using a heat gun works better

The CNC fitting is different on a 2000 323I M54 doesn't have a smaller hose just one hose. any suggestions on how to get it to work

Is there any danger of water or dust getting into the engine with this intake replacement?
Hello Mihael Keehl. While the potential for water or dust is a risk with any aftermarket intake, our heat shield protects the filter itself quite well from any unwanted debris . Can I use my stock boot?
Yes, you can install the intake with the stock boots
I assume it fits the E85 Z4 as well. 2004 3.0
This will not fit the Z4, engine bay layout and spacing is different which would cause fitment issues unfortunately.
Does it need the heat shield?
The top of the heat shield does seal against the hood to prevent hot air from being introduced

Hey Dennis. This system, in particular, is a 50 state legal, CARB approved intake. With that being said, we have 0 reports of engine lights :).

That installation is incomplete,where is the heat shield top cover,you can't leave it exposed like that
The area is actually sealed off from the engine bay once the hood is closed as the gasket along the top seals against the hood. Even without the lid the hot air is kept at bay.

My maf housing is the same size of the hole on the heatshield so it won't fit through I have the mishimotto boots installed already.(04 330ci)

Hey Juan. 2006 is when the E90 body style was fully implemented and the E46 was ceased from production. There a quite a few significant changes under the hood that prevent these from being a direct fit on your 2006. If you feel this product could work in your vehicle, feel free to give it a try. We simply can not confirm it will fit.

We unfortunately do not test our competitors components against our own. Most of our products are designed to improve on OE designs and eliminate common failure points while remaining compatible with related OEM parts.

+MmM We saw maximum gains around 4,600 rpm to the note of around 4 whp and peak gains of 2 whp at 6,000 rpm. If you look at the plot, you will see that we make 1-3 whp throughout the entire rpm band, which is fantastic!

No it won't make any real power gains, but really compliments the rasp of the straight six engine with a nice metallic sound. Anybody who says it will help power gains is a salesman only........

Hello Soro GuÊ. This intake is safe to use with the stock tune as it will not hurt air/fuel ratios under load. This intake has a unique and aggressive tone under load, and the free-flowing design amplifies engine induction sounds. Hey Berkay Özsoy . Without testing the vehicle on a dyno, I would not be able to verify if installing an intake on your vehicle would make more horsepower. However, intakes in general do seem to help increase the intake sound of your vehicle which usually results in better sound :)

Unfortunately this would not be compatible due to the different throttle body location due to the shorter engine.

Hey pax6. It appears that that vent, in particular, is no longer used once you install our intake system.
@@mishimoto the stock m54 air box is already a cold air intake and it excellent from my over decade experience, this one will not let in sufficient cold air due to lack of air ducts top and bottom

The intake on the video will not fit the 330CI, we do however make an intake specifically for the 330 as there are some differences in the design.

Yeah i think they've just made a mistake. They may also have created a different version for the 330i but I doubt it.
GODDAMNDAVID Yes mate. It's exactly the same progress and measurements. No idea why they said it works only on 328i but 328i and 330i is pretty much the same so it will work perfectly.
