Glad to see you're starting to put out your videos. I've been using Google Translate to try and watch some of your fellow Korean RUclipsrs to get a sense of what the PE is like. Unfortunatley due to our outdated regulations related to headlights here in the US, we likely won't be getting the lights with IFS.
@@CarSceneKorea The closest I've seen are on my parent's Ford Edge Titanium, it has headlights that follow the steering wheel. Very freaky at slow speed to see the light turn into a corner.
@@CarSceneKorea It's still not fully approved due to other older laws like max headlight output restrictions, but limited functionality is unlocked in the US now (mostly the On/Off Hi-beam). Other car brands like Porsche/Audi/VW who have LED matrix headlights can be configured to have them when you order here in the US, but the functionality is disabled unless you can get the dealership or car shop to enable the functionality.
For much of the world, captions can be very helpful. This is also true for native English speakers, especially those from countries with different accents, and for those who are hard of hearing or deaf. I always use the captions.
Thank you for the video. I love the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and as an expert in adaptive lighting systems, I was particularly interested in how the IFS system was implemented. However, I must tell you that the vertical stripes are not a feature but rather a bug! The goal is to not see them and to create as homogeneous a light distribution as possible to avoid distracting the driver. It seems this wasn't very successfully achieved, although I am glad that the technology has finally made it into the Ioniq 5. From experience, I know it's difficult to capture the impression of homogeneity on cameras exactly as it appears to the human eye in reality. Maybe it's better in reality than in the video?
Thanks for the insight. Genesis did deliver the lights being homogeneous, there was no boundary that could be spotted. Since the first IONIQ 5 did not have IFS, squeezing that tech into the same hardware but extra could’ve been the cause perhaps?🤔
Yw. I can only speculate here because I didn't develop this lighting system, but indeed, that could be the problem. Homogeneity and efficiency suffer the most from limited installation space.
Thank you for your informative video. As always, very helpful. Are you also familiar with the issue of allegedly increased theft of Hyundai ioniq 5? This is supposed to work very easily with a key emulator aka "Gameboy": It is enough to go to any place of the car where there is a button without button access, touch or press. For example, the door handle. The device records the signal from the car and selects the correct key within 10 seconds to 2 minutes, completely duplicating the native one. The key can be stored in the device's memory. Open, close, start and drive away.
I've heard about the news, hope Hyundai USA would promptly come up with a solution. It's nearly impossible to hear anyone getting their cars stolen here in Korea.
It was just automatic high beam assist thus far, but IFS controls high beam far more delicately, allowing more visibility under same condition. You will feel the huge difference when you drive it during the night time.
Just replaced my ultimate i5 with the facelift n-line-s . I presume to use the ifs you turn on the auto high beam? I have seen it working but didn’t know whether the auto high beam had to be on or not?
Thanks. They are so much better than previous model but I may get them checked as the beam seem a little high. Odd seeing the grid patterns but very clever
Do you know if the PE enhancements in the 5N? I want to buy one but idk if I need to wait until a "2025 5N" comes out to have walk-away-lock and IFS(instead of HBA?)
7kWh more battery means about 30km more range at speed 110km /h or 45km more range in city driving , nice but this is not too much . I am expecting 95kWh nett battery capacity within 2 years .
The video really doesn't do justice tbh since it is just shot on an action camera. Looks much brighter in person for both IONIQ 5s, IFS clearly being more brighter ;)
@@CarSceneKorea I see, I have an Ioniq 5 MY 2022. I had to install a LED light bar because the highbeam is really weak. So this new model has brighter highbeam?
@@kristoffergo6973 It could be because of IFS providing more visibility, so a bit unsure about the precise brightness difference, but IFS sure does provide more visibility.

Wait a second. You guys don't get matrix LED headlights in the US on other brands then? No way..! 😱

Finally some Matrix-LEDs for the 5.
Good upgrades that really improve the car
Agreed! 💯
Why are captions on by default? You’re English speaking is perfect 👍 love the videos ❤

Wow! Great video. Thanks for the demonstration. I’ve got the old system on my Ioniq 5. Envious.
Sure is a tech worth having, but the original IONIQ 5 came out amazing from the start, so no need! 😉

Do you know if the new cluster theme will also be available on pre-facelift cars? It looks so much better than the old ones. Many thanks
Not that I know of, unlikely.
I have no idea what IFS is after watching this video. Is it an automatic on/off of the high beams?
It was just automatic high beam assist thus far, but IFS controls high beam far more delicately, allowing more visibility under same condition. You will feel the huge difference when you drive it during the night time.
If you go watch my Tucson IFS video, it might be more obvious there. I didn’t have much traffic on this video, so it seems a bit less obvious.
hey, man, are those matrix headlights? or is it a single-lens projection type?

Yes, you have to manually turn it on by pushing the lever to the front. It gets reseted when the car is turned off.

hi, do you know if the new ioniq 5n also has IFS?
Nope, IONIQ 5 N is based on the first IONIQ 5 except for the performance related stuff.
@@CarSceneKorea strange now that they update the car with rear wipers and the new software in infotainment🤯

How many leds have the "matrix"light? Low beam/High beam?
I'm unsure about the numbers, sry.

모든 차량에 적용된 건 아니지만 타브랜드 및 제네시스 등 여러 차량에 들어가 있는 기능입니다. 비슷한 이름으로 불리지만 차종별로 기능이 상이하기도 합니다.
