This review is spot on. Real world driving experience with range and charging tests makes it really informative. Your in depth comparison to the former model also deserves recognition, very well demonstrated, huge props! I'm seriously considering this as my next car and your driving impressions are very helpful.
Great road trip video in the PE! Very cool to hear you’re from Busan. I spent two weeks in Busan in 2014 for work. I stayed on Haeundae beach. I had an amazing time in Korea when I was there. The hotel concierge even found a restaurant that would allow me to do Korean BBQ even though I was there by myself. Would love to go back. Hoping Hyundai will invite me for the Ioniq 9 launch event
Such a great video! thank you for sharing that road trip with us. I have decided now that when I visit South Korea I will definitely do a trip like that on an ionic.
Another great video! Love your clear explanations and your enthusiasm! You speak English so clearly! No problem to understand your comments -- much clearer than many people I encounter here in North Carolina! LOL
RIP smashed bugs.😅 Your hair @9:43 is awesome! The digital driver side "mirror" display looks like its facing almost completely perpendicular to the driver. Is it awkward to look at? I think it needs to be angled more towards the driver but I haven't seen it in person.
My hair being all natural😅 The DSM monitors are fixed, it cannot be moved or tilted. It does take some time to get used to - quite dependent on the person - but it took me a couple of turns then I was already used to it. However, I felt the biggest difference when reversing and parking in a tight space. You can do it, the camera shows "everything," yet is quite different from the conventional ones.
i don't know if in your project you have a hyundai or Kia manufacturing plant guided visit, it will be very intersting , specialy if it is an electric assembly line! This video test drive in real life is very interesting how it is life with ionic 5! And you know what? i love kimchi! have a good day from Quebec Canada

Hey thank you for another great video! I really can't wait for the car to come to Canada. Lots of great improvements hopefully it checks all the boxes for me to finally buy an Ioniq. What a fascinating country. In a world full of Japanese cars, it is rare to see a country that doesn’t have a Toyota every 10 seconds. I wonder what the Japanese think of the N performance cars? They must’ve been scared into action because we now have the GR brand from Toyota and Mazda Spirit Racing sub-brand.
There were times when Japanese cars were not all difficult to spot, but owning and driving a Korean car in Korea has lots of obvious advantages. Price, among everything then maintenance, repair, resale value, the list goes on and on. I sure do hope to see GRs here in Korea too, but it’d be near impossible given the market demand. It is quite exact opposite for Hyundai and Kia in Japan mostly for the same reasons :)
@@CarSceneKorea very interesting. Thanks for the insight. Yes, I have noticed the opposite too. I remember being excited to see a Hyundai S Coupe on the streets of Japan that was in almost flawless condition. Was very cool. Here in Australia, we are lucky to have the best of both worlds, enjoying both Korean and Japanese performance cars. In fact, Australia is among the biggest markets for the N brand despite our small population and is one of the main reasons we are one of a handful of countries which will continue to receive the second facelift of i30 N and facelift i20 N. I myself will be purchasing the 2025 i30 N and cannot wait for it to be announced! I’d love to see what the very best Japanese drivers think of the i30 N and Elantra N. No doubt they would be very impressed. Well done Hyundai 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks for sharing! I'd gotten i30N over Veloster N if it were available here in Korea. i20N in a heartbeat though, can't imagine how much fun that little N would be!
E-pit is categorized as 240kW charger by korean environment agency. It is under the 350kW standard but only capable upto 240kW with its limited 1MW power cabinet per site. Because egmp platform currently capable upto 230kW charging speed. Hyundai, Kia keep mentioning 350kW 'charging standard' instead of their charging capability. Quite misleading.
I’m interested to hear if you noticed a difference in ride quality and motor whine volume. One thing I don’t like about my 2024 Ioniq 5 is the steering wheel in Highway Driving Assist mode. The car does only recognize my hands on the wheel at the 10 and 2 position. The wheel also has to be gripped quite firmly for the car to recognize hand contact.
The first IONIQ 5 has torque feedback basis input for the steering wheel, i.e., if you put some force anywhere within the steering wheel, the message won't pop up. You can "shake" it using your knee even. The PE has HOD, as described in the video, which allows the car to recognize your hands on the steering wheel so long as you hold onto it using two or more fingers (torque feedback still also works). The reason why you think it only recognizes 10 & 2 is bc perhaps that's when you gave it enough torque for it to recognize :)
Thanks for the interesting & nice video. ❤ Do you know whether the navigation instructions from Apple CarPlay are also displayed on the HUD when navigating with the Apple Maps App, or Google Maps via Apple CarPlay, or whether the Hyundai navigation is still displayed in the HUD. I hope I have expressed it clearly. 😱
Great video and a decent not facelift of the car. In Europe, the performance of charging stations varies widely. Some stations have multiple cables between which they can distribute the energy, the recently introduced SICHARGE D from Siemens which supports 400 kW can redistribute up to 4 cables. Other single cable stations can offer up to 350 kW per unit, but these can be limited by the grid if there are more than one at one location.
How long does it take to charge from a regular USA style electrical outlet if there are no fast charger or EV charger around. For instance, we visit our family that are a great distance from civilization, but you need to charge before getting back to the city last charge station. Will it charge from a solar battery that was charged from solar panels or directly from solar panels?
Get the charging rates on those, you should be able to calculate how long it'd take. However, we are talking tens of hours with solar charging system last time I've checked, which is not just for this IONIQ 5, but all EVs.
Aaaargggh :) now you made me to want to replace my ioniq 5 :D i do love my Ioniq5 but the 500+ km range seems soooooo enticing :) (altough mine can go around 450-480km (depending how much i push it) - so the change is not _that_ huge but still the upgrades seems to be good.
plus the rear windshield wipers ... (i mean what a moronic idea to NOT to put on cars... Hyundai isn't - wasn't alone making that stoopid move... (looking at you Jaguar I pace...)) .... :)

Hey! Awesome video, I'm loving the car and the videos! Apologies for being a bit annoying, but I wonder how the facelift Ioniq5 would compare against a Model Y; Based on the initial look you've posted a few weeks back, it seems the only thing tesla would (theoretically) have in advantage is the "brand name", but the I5 seems like the most refined product - Do y'all have any thoughts on that? =)
Tesla's Autopilot and FSD(which is not available in Korea) alone are worth getting a Tesla I believe. However, put aside those, I don't really see how Hyundai or Kia cars lack compared to a corresponding Tesla competitor. I really think it boils down to a personal preference at the end of the day, both great cars :)
I love Korean culture, and this video just makes me want to visit Korea one day even more. Also made me hungry haha And I'm just curious, do you think you adapted quickly to the side mirror/camera? Edit: you answered the digital side mirror as soon as I posted the comment XD
It's not a facelift but a "product enhancement"!? Is that lesser or more than facelift? I mean the face is modified a bit and other exterior/interior design elements has been changed/redesigned. I think all other manufacturers would call it a facelift! But it is definately a lot better almost every aspects! Cudos Hyundai!😁
Just started watching but came to comment as soon as I saw the wheel. Will be adding comments as I go - 1. Well I don't like geometric funky parametric designs. Please give a simple one like Tesla does and keep it like that always. 2. Keep the normal sideview mirror. Add digital screen at the sides of the dashboard. If it is digital, why let the driver flex their heads?
Do you think the Hyundai Motor Group will be installing E-Pit superchargers all over the US/Canada and Europe, like Tesla have done? It would be great to see Hyundai Superchargers all over Europe, and the UK/Ireland in particular. And then we wouldn’t be funding fascists if we never use Tesla chargers.
Quite a strange decision, that when the battery capacity was increased from 77kW-(84)kW, the power of the electric motor was reduced to 325 hp->(320) horsepower. 🤔
Appreciate the video, but you're hyping up of the digital side mirrors just feels like you're advertising for Hyundai, especially as you didn't actually mention what you like about them other than "can't go back". I've used them, and can't think of a single reason I'd actually want them in my car. You don't get any depth perception, and end up with a far narrower view compared to normal mirrors making it harder to use them for parking. More expensive to replace, and more likely to break. I'm hoping no one opts for them based on this video...

Thanks for the comment, I hope Google Translate did the work and got your message right. Congrats on getting your first EV, IONIQ 5 will be a great car indeed!
Sorry but I have to disagree with you. Give me a conventional side view mirror with a small convex mirror all day long! You can stick these digital mirrors where the sun doesn't shine. I barely use my rearview camera. Learn how to drive!
If that last sentence was for me, I've owned and driven a manual car since day one I got my driver's license :P A conventional mirror gets the job just fine indeed.

@@CarSceneKorea Oh that's weird, but yes you answered my question about the digital mirror being easy to get used to. Thank you!
How much is the price
Can it be exported outside Korea?
It cannot be exported off from Korea. Visit your local dealership. See if they have it available.
What is the range for the AWD Limited in KM?
It's not approved yet, so no official data there, but think it'd be safe to assume similar range upgrade as the 2WD.
@@CarSceneKorea thanks! Sure cannot wait for these to become available in the U.S.
I want the Ioniq 5 2025 so bad, can you send me a PE version to NC, USA?

Is the PE significantly more efficient than the original one?
Wouldn't really say significant, but the upgrade battery size does contribute quite a lot than I anticipated.
Interesting south korea using CCS1 not CCS2 like the rest of the world, will korea change to NACS like the USA does?
Some electric buses use CCS2, long story short, CCS1 prevails in Korea indeed.

what is charging price for 1 kw ?
About 0.16 USD, direct conversion. Prices vary depending on time, power output, etc., but it is the cheapest and what most people pay on an average.
Navigation will be much better supported in SK. In UK nav info on prior version was poor.
Hope the ccNC will offer an upgraded version 🥲

Appreciate the video, but you're hyping up of the digital side mirrors just feels like you're advertising for Hyundai, especially as you didn't actually mention what you like about them other than "can't go back".
I've used them, and can't think of a single reason I'd actually want them in my car. You don't get any depth perception, and end up with a far narrower view compared to normal mirrors making it harder to use them for parking. More expensive to replace, and more likely to break.
I'm hoping no one opts for them based on this video...
All valid points, thanks for sharing!

Yorumunuz için teşekkürler, umarım Google Translate işini yapmıştır ve mesajınızı doğru anlamıştır. İlk EV'nizi aldığınız için tebrikler, IONIQ 5 gerçekten harika bir araba olacak!
1차선 정속 주행충 🤣
