Let's hope that the heat pump will be significantly quieter. The original one is skrewing the otherwise low sound in winter. Guess we still lack some heating of the flat front to avoid snow and gravel rendering the systems obsolete. I hope that they also sorted out the bad safety belt guidance.
No official number on that unfortunately 🥲 Koreans aren't really big with towing stuff, it's hardly ever announced here in Korea, I normally hear it from Hyundai USA first.
I have read news about the charging port (Type 2 CCS) changing to Tesla's NCAS port for the facelift model in 2025. In this video you still have old port. Will ionic 5 be engineered for the US market having NCAS and European market with CCS? Would old port be more suitable for 800v platform than the NCAS?
You probably have the answer to this already. North American conversion does get NACS indeed. I am in Korea and domestic models will not get those well because it is NACS.
Is there still a 20" and 19" wheel version? It looks like so far we've seen only the new 20" wheel - could you please look out for 19" if there is one?
By the way, 4 days ago, my ICCU Unit failed also.....🙂....only DC Charging is still possible, AC is broken ;-) Thats the reason, why I asked you the question last month. Hello Bro. Thnak you for making these videos for us.I wanna buy a model ioniq 5 advance series has the standart range 58 kwh 2024 version made for Turkey.I hope these changes would be on my new ioniq 5 advance model.I am so excited now after watching this video.Thank you again and waiting new videos from you bro... Good luck for your youtube channel...
Been researching Ioniq 5 recently as it is so attractive. However, came across major reliability issues re: loss of power and even shutdown due to ICCU software. Is this an issue with 2025 model?
Does the Ioniq 5 come with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto? Also when can we expect the car outside of Korea? Great review btw, can't wait for it to be released in Singapore!!
Thanks again for the great presentation of the new model. I still have one question: Can you possibly point out the differences between the N-Line of the ioniq 5 and the ioniq 5 N?
There isn't one video focusing on that, but there are a number videos on each models on my channel. IONIQ 5: Regular model 5 N: Looks like I5 on the outside - of course with some N looks - but completely a different high-performance EV 5 N-Line: Basically regular I5, but has 5 N looks to it :)
I tried focusing on what's directly visible to our eyes on this video. Wireless AA & CarPlay is now available with every car that has ccNC. This IONIQ 5 PE also gets IFS, although it's not the smoothes adaptive headlights that HMG could offer, it's here! I believe it'd be similar to that of Tucson facelift Hyundai gave us, you can check out the glimpse of how the IFS ought to be like here: Night Test Driving 2025 Hyundai Tucson Facelift - Intelligent Front Light System (IFS) ruclips.net/video/0OxL3_mrSFg/видео.htmlsi=Ef17bBa_aQMGXlb1
Ahh, yes, you said visible changes, sorry! Will check out the other video, thanks! Do you know if the U.S. model will get NACS on this PE model? Also waiting for better colors than the existing ones, too. Love your videos. Just discovered them via a recommendation from the Ioniq Guy here in the U.S. @@CarSceneKorea
Glad you found me, welcome to the channel :) I'm just a guy in Korea reviewing newly released Korean spec HMG cars. Even if I have any inside intel, I never share it for I only want to focus on delivering what's "real." Not a big fan of spyshots, guesses, rumors, etc. So back to your question, answer to NACS would be up to Hyundai USA 🥲 There is the Ultimate Red Metallic, which is N-Line exclusive though.
Thanks! I was disappointed to hear the Ultimate Red will only be for the N line -- which I do not want. I currently have a red Santa Fe and a red Sonata, so was hoping for a red Ioniq 5 later this year. ☹@@CarSceneKorea
Thank you for your future revealing videos I wonder for the 2025 USA Ioniq 5 if they will be finally getting a heat pump for the rear wheel drive and will those front air curtains be coming soon also?
Assuming I am able to have a heat pump and Android Auto in the US I fully plan on buying this as my first new car. I have only ever purchased used in my life.
@@CarSceneKorea I almost purchased the 2024 but stayed away because I wanted native NACS support. Do you have any opinions on 2WD vs AWD. I have only owned AWD the past 15 years but the additional miles from 2WD has me considering that as an option.
@@CarSceneKorea I mean, when I look at your current videos on the ioniq 5 and see the changes, such as the larger battery, then I wonder if and when some of these improvements will come to the GV60. If there aren't any planned for the GV60 in March or by the summer, I would find the ioniq 5 more interesting at the moment. What do you think?
@@knupificationGenesis being the luxury brand, it's quite different from Hyundai. Also, GV60 isn't quite the same category as I5 as you probably know. GV60 PE or facelift is also just around the corner. Unless you absolutely like GV60 a lot, this I5 PE is clearly an upgrade from all latest EVs from HMG out there right at the moment. But it's GV60 for me given it's Genesis and GV60 has plenty of things that I need/look for in an EV already.
So not only no NACS port, but the port is still on the wrong side. I also take it this is still E-GMP and not the new IMA platform? So it still has the very poor 400v of not more than 97kw.
@@CarSceneKorea That wasn't the question or the point. Unless it's not coming to America. In North America, the vast majority of chargers are Tesla Superchargers 400v V3's with short cables and the biggest negative keeping Ioniq 5's sales back are it's poor charging on V3's of only 97kw. And with the port on the wrong side, it has to take up 2 pots. If that hasn't been fixed on the new models, that will keep holding its sales down. So when is Kia going to fix those 2 major issues?
It's been reported the Hyundai will start supporting NACS in Q4 2024. I would be great if it's relocated to the front-left to be compatible with Tesla charging stations.
Thanks for the video! Do you know if the towing capacity has improved for the facelift model? Can you confirm that it will have the Tesla NACS plug for North America as standard in 2025?
More questions! Will this car come with bidirectional charging from the main (Tesla NACS) port for V2G/V2H? Has the 12v battery drain issue been permanently solved?

Yes, all the latest wireless charging pad from HMG does have vents, which is visible with dot-looking things on the pad.
@CarSceneKorea My new wish list for Hyundai/ Genesis / HMG:
1) add more custom settings vs default for the reversing camera /360 camera ( 1 press vs double press)...
2) And copy the VERY FANCY camera trickery that Toyota does that allows you to see the terrain under the car ("Panaromic View Monitor" - the front cameras come on when you slow down to a stop, starts painting the road surface under the car for EXACT PRECISE TIRE PLACEMENT).
3) use Genesis gv60 toggle buttons for cabin temperature adjustment
- i am not a guy that falls for aesthetics but the hvac controls are beautiful in the Genesis,
- the auto buttons AND RE-CIRCULATE BUTTONS are close together- Yay.
4) I disliked the fan up Fan down buttons getting separate discrete buttons as well, could be a toggle as well,
- but other ppl will start complaining if things start looking asymmetrical.
- So i don't have a solution for that.
5) if you're gonna do the 3 spoke wheel just bring the bottom rim of the steering wheel TOWARDS the driver hands ( eccentric shape )
6) add a second sport key (like Volvo did a while back - it's waterproof, no buttons) measures 5.5x2.5x0.8 cm
- I can rely on it even if my phone / watch battery goes dead
- flat enough to be in a tiny zipper compartment of my wallet.

Been researching Ioniq 5 recently as it is so attractive. However, came across major reliability issues re: loss of power and even shutdown due to ICCU software. Is this an issue with 2025 model?
The car isn't being delivered yet, so the answer would be no. ICCU is currently undergoing recalls here in Korea, hope that'd solve the issue.
Does the Ioniq 5 come with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto? Also when can we expect the car outside of Korea? Great review btw, can't wait for it to be released in Singapore!!
Yes
Yes
You didn't mention Wireless Android Auto which would be huge so I'm assuming it's still missing?
It's available, both AA and CarPlay. I couldn't test it out at the time of filming this, hence the omission.
Thanks again for the great presentation of the new model. I still have one question: Can you possibly point out the differences between the N-Line of the ioniq 5 and the ioniq 5 N?
There isn't one video focusing on that, but there are a number videos on each models on my channel.
IONIQ 5: Regular model
5 N: Looks like I5 on the outside - of course with some N looks - but completely a different high-performance EV
5 N-Line: Basically regular I5, but has 5 N looks to it :)
@@CarSceneKoreaThanks! 😊 Do you know whether adaptive dampers are also installed in the N-Line, as in the 5 N?
What’s the WLTP range of 5 N?
450 km or 280 miles.
I can’t find your review on the Kona EV N line for some reason.
Working on the edit now, it was supposed to be the first one, but got delayed due to these IONIQ 5 vids, sry!
@@CarSceneKorea it’s ok, its worth the wait. I see it up now.
You forgot to mention the wireless CarPlay, which you covered in your previous video. One remaining item on my wish list is adaptive headlights.
I tried focusing on what's directly visible to our eyes on this video. Wireless AA & CarPlay is now available with every car that has ccNC. This IONIQ 5 PE also gets IFS, although it's not the smoothes adaptive headlights that HMG could offer, it's here! I believe it'd be similar to that of Tucson facelift Hyundai gave us, you can check out the glimpse of how the IFS ought to be like here:

Waiting for the PE model with rear wiper before buying - it will be my first EV. When will it come to Australia?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Thank you for your future revealing videos I wonder for the 2025 USA Ioniq 5 if they will be finally getting a heat pump for the rear wheel drive and will those front air curtains be coming soon also?
Heat pump was available on all IONIQ 5 in Korea, those air curtain is under development, none of HMG cars have it yet.
Has the IONIQ5N Matrix LED?
Nope.
Thanks. Range 480 km for AWD?
AWD for 450
No official number from Hyundai yet, but given the battery upgrade, it'd be somewhere around +10% increase.
Assuming I am able to have a heat pump and Android Auto in the US I fully plan on buying this as my first new car. I have only ever purchased used in my life.
It will be a great choice and you will love it!
@@CarSceneKorea I almost purchased the 2024 but stayed away because I wanted native NACS support.
Do you have any opinions on 2WD vs AWD. I have only owned AWD the past 15 years but the additional miles from 2WD has me considering that as an option.
Love it but EVs need to continue to improve range we need 350-400 options especially people who drive in the winter since winter range drops 30-50%
Will soon see that with next gen eM platform, hopefully.
Have they improved the efficiency of the car?
Will find out on the test drive!
Great changes for the Ioniq 5! Is there any news on the upcoming KIA EV5, if it will have the same features? Any EV5 news at all?
Nothing official from Kia just yet. It will come with most of features shown on this model though.
@@CarSceneKorea merci
When do you guess that it will be available in Europe? Will Hyundai keep the price or increase it?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲Korean price remains the same, so fingers crossed! 🤞
Thanks!
Should I take the ioniq 5 2025 or the Genesis GV60?
Same price? I'd go with GV60 if the space isn't much of an issue for you.
E-GMP is capable of 800V with corresponding charger, works just fine in Korea with E-pit.
No towing numbers by Hyundai yet, I am unaware of the Tesla part.
As for the charging, there is nothing mentioned other than it having the same charging speed despite the upgraded battery capacity.
Will it come to EU?
Sure thing.
Wish the charging port was on the other side for Tesla Superchargers.
I watch all your shows. Any word on IONIQ 7, or any other ioniq’s?
KIA has already come up with EV9 and EV5. Why is Hyundai so slow?
Hyundai is undergoing road test with IONIQ 9 - previously considered to be IONIQ 7 - in Korea, you will hear about it more soon.
Any new colors?
Ultimate Red Metallic (N-Line exclusive) is the only exterior, a few interior combinations.
But could differ by a market to another.
I love the "updated" color interior (brownish) at least viewing it from a North American perspective.
On point as always 👍
