As much as HMG is making their presence strong on the EV market, they've been doing the same (if not similar) with ICE, so a bit more concentration with HEV ought to ease the market reaction. I am really not joking, but there are NO big changes as you said so. That's really a good thing. The most important thing is that it's a bit more efficient and drives better, top feature a rear window wiper. I really like the Ioniq 5!
Great video! Thanks for all clear explanations. Just got back from Korea and of course a part the extremely charming country I could had a good glance at the Korean car brands. Fell in love with the Ioniq 5!!!!
The changes are subtle, but it definitely gives a different impression and I like it. Fantastic informative comparison! I am looking to acquire an Ionic 5. I’m gonna wait for the 2025 to come out in Canada because I love the changes they’ve done to it. Thanks so much for the thorough review!! 😎
Great comparison! Glad to see the addition of a rear wiper. New black background display looks nice - panels may even be a bit larger? Note: a lot of those great "Ionic 5" features that you were raving about are only available on the Limited top-level trim (vision roof, relaxation mode, moveable center console)
Thanks so much for these videos. We just added an EV9 to our family. Hoping the IONIQ 5 N-line comes to the USA fully featured. If so, that’s our next purchase. We typically keep our cars for ten year cycles and this is the year! I would get the 5N, but no HUD and no vision roof are dealbreakers for the US spec.

Hello, thanks a lot for your excellent videos of the new 2025 I5!! Quick question, does the new rear wiper also have a washer fluid nozzle to spray the back window?
I like the digital side mirrors idea. Better visibility even when raining. Also love the rear view camera can be adjusted. Moving island is genius! Physical buttons! Was thinking I’ll get the new 2025 X3 but honestly this new Ioniq 5 might sway me….
This side-by-side comparison is absolutely great. Makes it so easy to spot the changes. Please keep that for the future. Like the upgrades all around (maybe except for the glovebox 😉). Most interesting for me to know are: How good is the nav compared to AA/CP? Is it still cold-gating? (Maybe hard to test in Korea) Is it still rapid-gating? (Both flavours: 92% SoC charging pause and the power limit after fast charging)
Thanks, I always try making such side-by-side vids, but it's difficult due to very limited resources I have running the channel on my own doing everything 😭 As for the charging, nothing was mentioned by Hyundai except that the PE has upgraded battery capacity with 4th gen batteries yet still takes the same time to charge 10% to 80%, so I'd assume the rest would remain similar, but sure is chance to have been refined slightly. I wasn't able to pinpoint such detail, once again due to limited resource. You might hear more about it on my next 1,300km drive video. Thanks!
Fantastic video!!! Could you please suggest me where to buy the total trunk protector cover that i have seen in this video for the old model (not PE). Thanks in advance
Great video! Can’t wait till the 2025 comes to the US. I’m sure no one knows today [May 3, 2024] but if anyone finds out in the future please reply and let us know!
Yes for both wireless AA/CarPlay and nothing significant has changed when it comes to charging except that it charges the same speed despite upgraded battery size.
Are those fully loaded, limited, editions? I'm asking because I'm curious to know what you think about the quality of the radio on the ioniq SE..I have a 2024 ioniq 5 SE and the radio quality is trash 🗑 PLEASE LMK THANKS
I'm in the Drawer team for sure! Can i ask you to make a video showing all the new color combinations for the MY 2025? It's already a possibility to configure and pre-order MY 2025 on the italian website, but the colors there look sad. For example, it looks like it's no more shooting star, which is a fantastic combination of matte grey and silvery body kits, still making a huge wow-effect to everybody who sees this car. Honesty, I won't change my shooting star Performance MY2023 to PE 2025 if it wouldn't be such a great eyecatching color combination. We would really appreciate a video with a comparison of all available colors (interior and exterior) for new models! Thank you beforehand!
The one thing that I tend to not like on most EVs is the wheel design. I’d replace with aftermarket regardless if it lowered range. Wheels can make or break a vehicles aesthetics in my opinion.
I tried to see my wheels when driving my car. I needed physiotherapy help afterwards. Don't understand the discussion about our wheels. The wheels on my e-Audi are incredibly ugly. So what?😉😜
May be you already covered it during the driving review, do you feel any difference in the ride quality and noise isolation of the PE model? Thanks! Greetings from New York!
Nothing substantial tbh, it very much was in the realm of one car being brand new, with 19s that had 235 mm of width and another with 30,000 km on with 20s that were 255 mm wide.
I prefer the PE version in almost every way, including the wheels. The only exception is that the drawer was a much better design. I was hoping that Hyundai would start bringing the drawer to other models. It's sad to see it removed from Ioniq 5. I can understand that some people might overstuff the drawer and end up struggling with it though. But the traditional glove box design is so difficult to work with because things just fall out when it is opened. My BMW i3 has a bin style glove box where the opening is on top of the dash; it is more convenient, although the space inside my glove box is oddly shaped.
Sure it does. Please check my first review video. As briefly shown at the start of this video, the car can now travel over 600km+ showing on the odometer alone, think it would do better during summer times.
Thank you for this video, great comparison. Looking forward to the trip report video. Unfortunately PE is still not in our local configurator, so we remain unsure which features will make it here. My question is whether PE has at least as an option 22kW AC charging ( 3 phase 32A) ?
I have not heard about any changes with regards to charging except that it has upgraded battery and charging logic which still allows the same charging speed of 10% to 80% in 18 minutes with rapid charging.
What great about the Ioniq 5! Let me explain: We have a small front garden that I have DIY change to a parking/ carport. If I park the car in the middle, nobody can go out, so I have to choose.... I park my e Niro for myself, my wife / passenger cannot go outside the car, but it I do it in another way, I cannot go out. And then came the Ioniq 5, I can park my car in the position that all the passengers can easily go out, and I can also go out just fine. The Ioniq you can swiftly adjust your middle console, than you have more freedom like a living room in the front seats, super space for your legs and you can easily left the car through the passenger door!!! And you car is more secure for theft and so! Ofcours I am very happy with my Kia e Niro, maybe later.....
He got it from Korean seller, there are quite a lot like these in Korea. I might consider stocking them on my shop when I see the market demand :) Opening it up soon!
@@CarSceneKorea that’s amazing. 10% bigger battery and a heat pump for when it’s cold will make a big difference in the UK winter! Do you know when they will be coming to the UK and if the pricing will be similar to the current car?
Have there been changes to the lights themselves besides having the ifs? The side by side videos seem to show the older model being a lot more dim and less white light. Also seems like the 5N has a lot of the pe model upgrades
I'm not particularly certain about any physical differences with the lights except for the fact that it got the IFS as shown. The less bright light on my friend's could be because of the tint, while the PE didn't have any.
Love the new car but hate the new 20 inch wheels, i was waiting to order the new model end of year but the lack of the older 20 inch wheels and swapping out the draw for a normal glove box is a deal breaker for me. Im going to go order present model instead
Much prefer the drawer type glove box. its so easy to access from the drivers seat. Not sure on the new dash display either whilst driving. I like my 3d effect.
Great site, really good review. Are you doing a ' driving ' review of the Ionic 5 PE?. Have watched the ' comparison ' and the ' lights ' videos. I have a deposite put down here in australia for the P E. Regards Martin
I am not coming up with the drive comparison video, but an exhaustive review on PE coming up later today. Hope you could also refer to my earlier video on the first I5 :) You won’t regret it, trust me.
Is the ' exhaustive ' review your drive around Korea ( very interesting )or are you doing one to compare upgraded suspension, sound deadening, accelaration ( new battery ), etc. Will keep a look out for it in any case.
For a brand new model, it could take up to 6 months to reach overseas markets, but given this is a PE and are being manufactured as we speak, it ought to be earlier🤞
Hi. Thank you for producing great content! I have never been driving an Ionic 5, but it seems really great. I will wait till the PE model arrives in Norway, but tell me my friend. Some reports/journalists are saying that tall people feel that they are sitting a bit to high in the current model; that you cant lower the seats enough. And also that the head rest is tilted forward in such a way that your head is in contact with it constantly - in a rather annoying way. I am 194 cm/6.4 ft tall and would like to know yout thougths about it; and especially when it comes to the PE. Thanks again!
I'm 185 and love my Ioniq 5 - driving seat is the comfiest I have ever had. Suggest going to a showroom and giving it a try instead of trusting all the forums though
@@Nerdificationing I am renting an Ionic 5 now for three months. Overall I think it is a very good car, but the claims are in my opinion true. The head rest is a little bit annoying but I would especially like to lower the seats more.
9:25 Thank u for good comparison. When u show us the difference between the models’ led lights, I determined that 2022 ioniq 5’s indoor lights are open. I think it’s not a fair comparison. The camera can’t show the real vision of the lights.
It's in the first review video :) 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Facelift 👀 Can you SPOT the upgrades? 👀 ruclips.net/video/X5K8Ls9QJJ4/видео.htmlsi=8QwBz3fo0ATnx2qX
I think if I had to pick, the original Ioniq 5 looks better on the outside, but it's not a big enough difference to matter. The new interior of the PE is just way better though.
i'm sorry but i can't see how powering two extra screens just to save a few inches of area on the side mirrors would increase mileage...maybe i'm wrong but i think one negates the other honestly.
So i watched the video and have found out in UK there are no ioniq 5 ultimates to be had and was disappointed. But my dealership have allowed me to order one and hopefully will get it before the end of 2024. I'm probably crazy as im not sure what i will receive so does anyone know what i might expect 😅
Those rims of the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (facelift) PE model do look good, WOW!. 👍🏼👌🏼😉😎 Does the side camera have a water and dirt repellent coating on the mirrors?. 🤔
2-spoke and 3-spoke design does have a bit of history behind them. Not many were fond of 2-spoke on GV80 and could've been the similar case with the IONIQ 5?🤔
Is the doggo a jindo? I think the drawer glovebox is better for me. All my junk would fall out of the traditional glovebox when I open it. Team drawer ftw 💪

Además, para saber cuándo llegará a España. Un saludo
Thanks for watching. It usually takes about six months for a brand new Korean cars to reach other parts of the globe. The PE model does get precisely what you've listed.
Gracias por ver. Por lo general, un automóvil coreano nuevo tarda unos seis meses en llegar a otras partes del mundo. El modelo PE obtiene precisamente lo que usted ha enumerado.
PE looks great inside out.... cleaner and more simple design on the outisde, more cozy inside... everything is better except that glove box.... drawer is more useful. i live space gray buttons (idk why they are not on the steering wheel but gloss black are) , graphics of the UI, dark interior.... new key is terrible.
im owner of 22 ioniq 5 std, it has 384 km range wltp and instead i have 490+km range in city. in this case this long range model can make 700+km road in city.
All the updates just show how bad the original model was. I've covered 70,000 kilometers in my Ioniq 5 since December 2021 and have regretted buying it since day two. The Ioniq 5 was my first and last car from Asia. And as good as every single update is, I like the rear of the first version much better.
Fantastic, in-depth comparison! Thanks!

Is the PE version available to get without the dsm?
Yep, not many countries will get the DSM actually.
@@CarSceneKorea Hi ! What is dsm ? Thanks !
Awesome review! Thank you 👍🏻
Glad you liked it!
What great about the Ioniq 5!
Let me explain:
We have a small front garden that I have DIY change to a parking/ carport.
IONIQ 5's interior design key is the living room themed indeed 😉
Curious to know more about the XRT model coming out! Any idea when more info will be provided?
Will cover it asap when I get the chance. XRT was mostly reserved for NA market thus far.
Thank you for this great video !
Thanks for the comment :)
Do you know if the I5 PE is now better protected against the "key emulator gameboy" which is really a big problem...
No mention or info on that from Hyundai 🥲
Do you know when it's coming to international markets, specifically the UK?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Great video! Where are those lovely trunk liners/trunk covers that your friend has from?😀
He got it from Korean seller, there are quite a lot like these in Korea. I might consider stocking them on my shop when I see the market demand :) Opening it up soon!
Is the Heat Pump standard on the PE car like it is on the Ioniq 6 (UK cars)
Yes, it is.
@@CarSceneKorea that’s amazing. 10% bigger battery and a heat pump for when it’s cold will make a big difference in the UK winter! Do you know when they will be coming to the UK and if the pricing will be similar to the current car?
What floor mats do you have on the original Ioniq 5? Can you provide the link?
It's sold to Korean markets only 🥲
One of the most beautiful ev in the world
Agreed! 💯
Team drawer!
Do you expect the IFS to be retrofittable to the N?
Tough call, but I doubt it.
Not just the hardware, but software + ccNC.
I want this in Europe. 🙂 Any idea when will arrive overseas?
For a brand new model, it could take up to 6 months to reach overseas markets, but given this is a PE and are being manufactured as we speak, it ought to be earlier🤞
Thankyou, very informative Video❤, you forget to Show the Button for the rear seats in the frunk 😮😊
The car dealer in my area in Norway has promised delivery of the new Ioniq 5 late October - early November.
Is that a matte or glossy white on the 2025?
It's matte.
I hope they bring back the shooting star matte black for the 2025
@@Nerdificationing Thank your for answering. Haha! Good point - and a little duh-ish :)
@@Nerdificationing I am renting an Ionic 5 now for three months. Overall I think it is a very good car, but the claims are in my opinion true. The head rest is a little bit annoying but I would especially like to lower the seats more.
Hi any information about when pe modles will arrive in UK.
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
I wonder if the built in cam uses as much battery as the Tesla sentry mode?
Cannot find precise battery use of it, but Hyundai does specify a different fuel economy of a vehicle that has it versus not.
9:25 Thank u for good comparison. When u show us the difference between the models’ led lights, I determined that 2022 ioniq 5’s indoor lights are open. I think it’s not a fair comparison. The camera can’t show the real vision of the lights.
Great point. That did have a bit of effect, but it sure was different. You can go through later in the video to see it for yourself :)
Do you have any info regarding resolution of the iccu/ 12v battery problem ?
There’s been a recall here in Korea in terms of the software updates.
@@CarSceneKorea was it for the iccu?
Yep, my friend's - the black IONIQ 5 in the video - went in to get it updated.
Are there any suspension changes??
Not all that major change, but upgraded with hydro bushing.
Great Video ❤ thankyou, very informative
The Button to drop the rear seats 🧐 please Show it, ☝️😉
It's in the first review video :)
2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Facelift 👀 Can you SPOT the upgrades? 👀
ruclips.net/video/X5K8Ls9QJJ4/видео.htmlsi=8QwBz3fo0ATnx2qX
Can you do a comparison between the key fobs for size and button placement.
28:52 Hope this could help.
I much prefer the drawer design on my 2023 model. Andrew in the UK
Team drawer mate🙌
what is the weight of 2wd 84kwh battery pack version of ioniq 5 ?
No info on that from Hyundai.
I think if I had to pick, the original Ioniq 5 looks better on the outside, but it's not a big enough difference to matter. The new interior of the PE is just way better though.
I don't think there'd be any debate about the interior. Having all the best from the original, yet upgraded and refined.
You Make a really gut job 👍 keep going.
Drive experince, 🧐 Differenz of new and old ioniq 5 🤔🤔 is there a Big Differenz🤔🧐
I shall talk about it on the next video, but not quite tbh.
I thought the nrw Ionic 5 comes with the Tesla style charging port, maybe only in the US when released
Not here in Korea, it was for the recent US model as you've mentioned.
i'm sorry but i can't see how powering two extra screens just to save a few inches of area on the side mirrors would increase mileage...maybe i'm wrong but i think one negates the other honestly.
👍🏼👌🏼😉😎
Does the side camera have a water and dirt repellent coating on the mirrors?. 🤔
Yeah, all DSMs did from the first one. Gets the job done as shown!
Not a huge fan of Digital side mirrors but other than that it’s solid car
Glad you like it! 👍
Only downside with new car is the 3rd bottom collumn in the steering wheel. Why give the driver less positions to rest your hand?
2-spoke and 3-spoke design does have a bit of history behind them. Not many were fond of 2-spoke on GV80 and could've been the similar case with the IONIQ 5?🤔
Is the doggo a jindo?
I think the drawer glovebox is better for me. All my junk would fall out of the traditional glovebox when I open it.
Team drawer ftw 💪
Yes, she's a Jindo :) Drawer! My suction was also falling out of the box too as shown in the vid.
did u notice any driving quality diffrence between them ?
Nothing significant tbh.
Team drawer all day long, what a bummer!
🙌
Thx from Germany 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching! 🇩🇪
Why did they stopped with the draw? It was great and a smart solution.
Tell me about it 😭
Old 20 inch wheels looks much better than new ones
I love that design indeed.
great compare
Glad you like it! 👍
Team drawer for sure
🙌🙌🙌
Team DRAWER! 👇
🙌
Drawer for sure! It's much more comfortable and organized
Perfect!!!
wireless carplay?
Yes for PE.
Why are you not talking about Kia Tasman!?🤩
Would love to, I mostly talk and cover cars that are released and cars that I can my hands-on :)
Hola ¡Gran video!
Good points!
im owner of 22 ioniq 5 std, it has 384 km range wltp and instead i have 490+km range in city. in this case this long range model can make 700+km road in city.
Viable speculation indeed. It already shows it can do 600km+
I like the 2023 rear bumper better.
This guy videos really want to make me relocate to korean😂
We're waiting 😉
Awesome car
All the updates just show how bad the original model was. I've covered 70,000 kilometers in my Ioniq 5 since December 2021 and have regretted buying it since day two. The Ioniq 5 was my first and last car from Asia.
And as good as every single update is, I like the rear of the first version much better.
Since day two 😭 Sorry to hear that.
