Well "smart criminals" don't commit petty crimes, and are smart enough to get away with big money schemes and heists. "Gangsters" and thugs, are by nature not the brightest. But also lack the support system and parental guidance to make smart choices, or fell the need to find "family" or support in the streets. There's a difference in being brave, tough and having balls. That along with a general desensitization, lack of any self worth or value, no guidance or direction. An no sense of any real hope, together with a low IQ can kind of come off the same way. They want to feel like important or like they somebody, so in a gang they can feel as though they're apart of something or as though they're a leader etc.

It's disgusting and sad....my dad honestly believed in his children having a better life than he did growing up and would do anything to keep my family safe! But then again he wasn't a gang banging criminal 🤷
im someone born and raised south side of Chicago, the way crime works in this city is unique in how segmented some towns known for gang violence can be. You can live in a relatively nice neighborhood and not 2 blocks away theres a town known for being one of the most dangerous towns to live in within America. But theres a sense that the crime in that town usually stays in that town, since that’s how it’s usually always been. Police ignore that certain area and let the gang members kind of relax there (not unpunished but almost definitely enabled to a degree), and in return the gang stays within their territory, leaving the surrounding towns mostly unbothered. The fact that gang violence is starting to become more and more common outside of their borders is a big concern, and is telling of the local economy. I dont have any plans on moving out of the Chicagoland area anytime soon (cant really afford it at this time) but its definitely something to keep mind of.
Even in the small city I live in the popo leaves certain areas alone and they actually tell them they won’t bother them if they stay away from downtown and such.

Hopefully things will get better.. This was a really good video It's good that you collaborated with some people who are trying to spread some awareness and positivity, well done.
This is just how it is here in Chicago. If the kid doesn’t get forced. He will grow up seeing those around him get killed by the opposition. So he will grow up with hatred for them and join anyways. People come from families that are all gang members. Brothers, sisters, mom, and dad. I was also in the same streets where the Hispanic gangs were interviewed. Thankfully I got my head on straight before doing something that would change my life forever. I don’t see it ending anytime soon or ever. A never ending cycle.
Decades ago, the goal was to get some money in the gangs so your kids wouldn't have to join the gangs like old dad. Now the whole point is kind of defunct.
Right, even they said they don’t know what they’re fighting for they just do it for clout to look good in the ghetto for what a piece of puss that 30 other dudes hit in the last week or a couple grand they robbed off a dude that’s why they are walking and riding in your car. Man I wish I was president I came from the bottom still in the bottom and why would you wanna stay at the bottom if you don’t have to?
“He ran up to me groped me and slapped me.” The fact that that can just happen clear as day speaks to the danger and how common of an occurrence it must seriously be that it didn’t t even phase her like that.
BS. As a Chicagoan born and raised, it's nothing like the media portrays. I've grown up in the safer North, but I have friends from Englewood and even some who are homeless. It sucks for them for sure, but they are great people and are totally normal. My friend from Englewood hasn't even heard gunshots since he was a little kid. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk lol. Seriously though, Chicago's portrayal in the media is really mostly just the people behind the content trying to get you to watch the videos/shows by making it seem worse than it is. To be clear though, those who apparently don't feel safe downtown and whatever tend to be from out of town, since I have felt completely safe being a teenager walking down the street alone at 5:30pm... it's just that the amount of people out there with you minding their own business gives you a sense of security. Anyways that's just my experience. Edit: Forgot to mention that while the stuff in the video is real and happens, it is not nearly as common and widespread as it is shown as being. Also, what the woman said about being groped and slapped is also completely unacceptable, and nobody doing anything is just what society seems to have come to these days; just do nothing, or film it for clout.

Tyler investigating Chicago, and visiting areas I used to frequent and live in is wild. I was born in Chicago and lived there for most of my life. One of the areas I lived in was Little Village, and it's honestly sad that it hasn't changed, even gotten worse in some aspects, as shown in the video. As stated many times, Chicago can be a nice place to live in or visit, but once it hits night, it turns into a war zone, and you better be indoors by 6PM or 8PM. It's also sad that all those years living in Chicago, I've gotten desensitized to violence and gunshots (which explains why some of the groups that were being interviewed did not care if they were being pulled up on), and even developed a sixth sense for whenever there's danger around. It's crazy that when I moved out of Little Village to a much safer area, I felt weird and almost uncomfortable for two weeks straight when I couldn't hear gunshots every night. I almost lost family members due to gun violence in the streets at least five times; in some of them, I was present or nearby. It was frustrating when that one guy, when asked if he'd introduce his own son into the life of crime, responded with "Nah, he comin' in." because he's part of the problem, he's the reason why it's common to see kids act up, imitating gangsters, becoming one, and later becoming a statistic because they're being accustomed to that life thanks to their parents and role models. That kid won't make it past 17 or mid 20's. It hits close to home in some way because I grew up seeing kids in my class grow up to become convicts or criminals and had or had close friends who were affiliated with gangs one way or another (directly or indirectly). These people are shameless. They're fighting a war without a meaning or cause; they don't know what they're fighting for. Some do it for excitement, money, drugs, or because they think its 'cool', and others are born into it. I know not all of Chicago is like that, but when you grow up in the bad areas for most of your life, it's hard to talk about it in a positive light. I have a love hate relationship with Chicago and Little Village.
exactly, that kid isnt even 20 and is trying to be a father, forcing the poor kid into gang life. so fucking infuriating. they lack basic education and clearly had no real father figure. the family unit is the core of it all
@@tubbycustard8866 Yea, its pretty common, but not too common, seeing teen parents or young adult parents barely peaking 20's who have no idea how to raise a child. At least where I lived. Not saying I can do better, since I'm 21, too young imo, and can barely take care of myself, but at least I know not to bring in kids to a horrible dangerous lifestyle that can cut their life short at any moment. These kids lacked awareness, common sense, or care in general. There's a reason why adults tell us to stay in school and be responsible. Yea, its boring, but it payed off because I managed to live a decently safe and healthy life.
They're basically out making money they live in poverty and there's no jobs poor education so they go into the streets to sell drugs to make money. They're trying to find ways to make money.
As a 44 year old Detroit native (south side), who later became a Marine, gang bangin has changed so much, and not in a good way, not that there is a “better way.” That being said, in my day, bangin’ was simply territory driven, that was it. Nobody was trying to f*ck anyone’s woman, we had way more respect than that, we didn’t openly sit outside, guns in hand, trying to instigate another gang to roll up, and try shooting one another over small amounts either. These newer, clueless, generations can’t even explain why they have beef with other gangs….thats sad in of itself! All that aside, the whole gang life is ignorant and will get you killed very early in life. You want “brotherhood”, “ a sense of REAL “family?”, join the Marines, Army, Navy, any branch will give those both to you! Gang life is something that causes people to lose respect for you even before they know you. If I can get up out the hood, anyone can, you stay because you want to, not because you need to. You feel like you are obligated, you’re not. Do what you have to do, get out. There are always better options out there. Just because you were born there, doesn’t automatically make you obligated to be a gang banger…..
I actually live in Chicago but I’ve never seen any criminal activity. I do have a story one time when my dad dropped me off at school and he parked back in the front but we left out the back. An facing fears etc, an doing something noble with your life and time. However stupidity, low IQ and mental illness / clinically insane or "craziness." Can also come off as "tough" or fearless, but there's definitely a difference between stupid and brave or fearless. That along with a general desensitization, lack of any self worth or value, no guidance or direction. An no sense of any real hope, together with a low IQ can kind of come off the same way. They want to feel like important or like they somebody, so in a gang they can feel as though they're apart of something or as though they're a leader etc.

im someone born and raised south side of Chicago, the way crime works in this city is unique in how segmented some towns known for gang violence can be.
Thanks for sharing your perspective
Cops are ALWAYS in those areas
What you're describing is happening by design. When they spread out the crime into the suburbs, it makes it look like they reduced it in Chicago.

Hopefully things will get better.. This was a really good video It's good that you collaborated with some people who are trying to spread some awareness and positivity, well done.
Sad but not surprising after hearing him casually saying he already lost a kid like he lost a shoe or something…

Bro that shits in Evanston ain’t even Chicago

They rival with other people that are doing the same thing trying to survive if you ever grew up in a Poor area, you would understand the concept, they're putting a show on for the camera. They're trying to find ways to make money.
As a 44 year old Detroit native (south side), who later became a Marine, gang bangin has changed so much, and not in a good way, not that there is a “better way.”
That being said, in my day, bangin’ was simply territory driven, that was it.

He left the garage door open. BUT LUCKILY nothing got stolen none of our bikes none of our ladders so we live in a safe part. The only dangerous thing at school I had one time was a bomb-threat and the police arrested the person before they had a chance to do it. So no one got hurt so it’s mostly safe where I am.
I’m really loving the increased frequency of videos. PLEASE keep it up… You’re my most trusted source for the truth.

The first group of Mexican dudes seemed much more intelligent, chill and genuine. Lowkey kinda gotta respect it
Nah fr, you could see from the guy with the ski mask and white hat, that he knows that gang life is not good.
It’s crazy that he felt safer with them and Oblock than any other hood! He even got shook with the white dude!
Yeah sure. One of them couldn’t care less about his baby momma killing one of his newborns. I don’t respect any of them.

Ive lived in chicago most of my life, my friend from highschool was shot outside of a nightclub on the west side when she was 19. Her boyfriend, who was also shot, was part of a rival gang to the shooter. My friend wasnt involved but lost her life that night.
"Well, you're in the car with me!"
He was not messing around. Much respect to you, also you are brave as HELL for going into little village like that. Most chicagoans do not cross the arches.
Im saying they set this nigga up taking em around the vill like that 😂
i used to work hvac with a king from blue island and he was the nicest guy i’ve probably ever met. i even went to his 9 year old daughters birthday cook out that had the whole block full of kings. while knowing the risks, it was very welcoming and nothing happened. crazy to think he’s still in jail for 3 more years

Ayye you was really risking your life in this one lol
I work in a Maximum Security Penitentiary and this is the best video you’ve ever done. These men are born and raised in that life and eventually end up where I work. The crazy part is that they still run on gang time in prison and still act just the same, it’s their life. Bunch of dudes just got RICO from IG live hit lists too.
yeah sad times
DA must be having a field day with all these goobers making incriminating evidence so easily available to the public.
I work in a juvenile hall and it’s the same story. Generational bullshit got the kids fighting wars they know nothing about
This guy succkkkkksssss
Bro they all do they same “ooh fake ops let me stare off into the distance” 🤣 I definitely believe it gets real, but I also believe they’re trying to look bigger than they are
Man seeing the kid who said he'd want to bring his son into this type of life just makes me question what goes on in their heads. Can't possibly think why putting your son in such a dangerous position would make you think "yeah I'm tough as hell" just insane that they will never change and seemto have the same thought process.
Nothing goes on in their heads. Just a bunch of animals trying to see who’s got the biggest dick
