Ummm, no, not exactly. It is called the United states of America because there are 52 "states" that are all joined together to form a country. Not because we should "All be UNITED and not divided". Personally, as a 12 year old girl from California, I could testify with 100% accuracy, that Racism is no better here than it is in the south. For me, it seems pointless to dislike, or set up barriers against people that don't look like me... as someone from the UK I think there is far more to find in common with peoples likes and dislikes rather than the commonality in skin colour, but maybe in the US its hangover from racist history where country folk were predominantly white and all they hear from the news is cities where black communities were predominantly located (forced?) in turmoil and that furthers their own views??
The best things I've seen where when "white only" people mixed with black communities and were shown kindness etc and it made them realise their preconceptions weren't right...

I grew up in Harrison. Born there in 1980, lived there through the 90's. My parents still live there, and I go back often. I worked at a computer repair shop called Max PC (you can look it up). This guy brought his computer in for repair a few times. Back in the late 2000's. I want to say maybe 2008 to 2010 maybe? He had some bad viruses and we recommended just backing up all his files, bookmarks, pictures, documents, etc, reinstalling Windows, and putting his files back on it. In his Internet Explorer bookmarks, he had links tons of conspiracy forums, and bookmarks to websites about everything you can imagine, lizard people, CERN being funded by a certain ethnic group who were using it to open a portal to hell, that kind of thing. Now it was definitely not something we ordinarily did, to dig through people's files, and honestly I didn't intend to. When I had Total Commander open to run the batch copy, I noticed the names of dot url files (.url, IE bookmarks) scrolling by and my eyebrows raised so I just opened IE and looked manually through the names of them. I feel like this guy just believed literally anything he read, and the more wild it was, the more serious the allegations, the more he wanted to believe it.

Exactly that i was thinking about. Here In India we have got some groups who have moulded themselves with time to spread nasty ideologies . The main people in those groups pretend to be open - minded, inclusive and peace loving. But the next day they will be found contradicting themselves. While the minions in those clans don't even bother about media or social conduct they are blunt and wouldn't mind vomiting their trashy views.
But until proven otherwise, he's just a run of the mill ethno nationalist. I am not saying you are wrong, I wouldn't doubt for a second if a lot of these klan idiots put up the front but are actually a lot more dangerous than they put on. But unless they are doing things illegal, the best thing to do is ignore them. Idiots like that thrive on attention. If you don't give it to them, they will lose power.
