Round 5 was super close but with merab not actually taking omalley down in the middle and just getting meaningless control time to omalley's couple of significant strikes then the huge body stun to some really good strikes and a knee really won him that round. At lighter weights perhaps, but the heavier you are, the harder it is not to telegraph, and move your body quickly - not to mention a lot more people have 1 punch KO power as you go up, simply because the punching power increase is far superior to how much stronger your chin can potentially be. Lightweight to light heavyweight are my favourites atm, since striking and wrestling/BJJ really do feel a lot more evenly weighted against each other in these divisions. Strikers are dominating middleweight atm tbf, only Khamzat defies this, and I reckon his cardio precludes him from dominance in the division even if he gets the belt at some point.

Well you got your wish omalley, they released the fight on youtube and guess what? It still shows you getting your ass kicked for most of the fight. Besides a few big strikes you got dominated. You threw these than 15 strikes in almost every round. You have no heart. When your the nail it's like your made out of pine needles. Just like the chito fight, you gave up when that injury happened when most fighters have tried to fight through. Actually I think everyone that's had that injury in the ufc besiyou tried to fight through it but you needed a stretcher... like we don't remember those back of the head shots you took in your earlier career to win a fight. I think it happened with a light illegals knee too. The only fight you had heart in was the Yan fight but you lost that too. But I will give you that one was a badass fight. Just get on with, you lost, go fight sandhagen, get your shot again, and see what happens. You lost bro, twice bro not just once
it shows a close 3-2 decision actually mate, yeah merab absolutey dominated omalley in rounds 2-4, but he did nothing in round 3 and got body stunned in round 5 pulling the round omalley's way. Round one was super close and merab only won the round by the skin of his teeth with control time. Also getting injured and not being able to walk properly is so much different to "not having heart", he literally tried to fight through it and rolled his ankle 7 times. Not many people in the ufc have had a kick land right on the perineal nerve giving them drop foot leading to ankle injury through rolling it a ton of times because its a lucky ass shot. He won that Yan fight you just hate omalley so much you cant admit it. @CameronGroves4332 I disagree, round 4 could of even been a 10 8 if you look at the ruled. For a 10 8 there just has to be a clear a dominant winning of that round. Theres no way he deserves an immediate title fight either way, his only defense was against chito. More and more people aren't liking him and his numbers aren't great. O’Malley was a manufactured champ and this fight proved it.
While yes he was manufactured this fight doesn’t prove he is unskilled, omalley looked horrible the whole fight because he was scared of merman’s pressure and cardio, Merab can make good fighters look bad
