Great review; very interesting! One point I'd add is country of origin. Aroham looks to be a Chinese company and Rimetrix is a USA company (in Ohio; site says all products are designed and made in USA). Something to keep in mind for those that want to buy domestic.

Nice comparison video, I didn’t even know those uberturbine wheel covers existed until I saw this! I still have my rimetrix silvers sitting in the box in the garage. I had second thoughts after I ordered them when I heard they scratch the rims. Anyone interested? HMU.
Thanks and nice to know, but if you are like myself and just do low speeds and just around town driving, no matter what wheel covers you have on your wheels won't make any difference. It is only if you drive on Freeways at high speeds and for substantial distances will any of these make a difference. Even with the special wheel covers, you have to figure in the weather also. Most people base all these wheel covers on how they look on the vehicle, period.
I just got some uberturbine covers from Ali Express for about $130, shipping took 3-4 weeks but I'm happy with the price vs $340, fuck that! In my own efficiency testing they came off slightly worse (1.9%) than the stock aero covers but I was doing it during the daytime w/ plenty of traffic around so there's def potential I was getting some/more unintentional drafting on the aero run.
Wanted to say thanks for mentioning it , got from the same place was $180 including shipping . My car is gray so got them in gunmetal gray , says will be delivered in 2 weeks , can’t wait , thanks again .
Yes not a cool design for the y model. Boo! I plan on changing out my 21 Uber turbines on my y performance to 19 inch Gemini wheels because tires are way cheaper! I just replaced the back tires at 22,000 miles and cost me 1040 dollars. Ouch!
Thanks for the scientific approach. I am glad the rimetrix tested out as good as the aero covers because that is what I bought last year. But I do like the newer covers

They look awesome! I hated the Rimetrix Lemars out if the box. The black didn't look right and was going to dip them a satin dark drey. Then one day I put them on and they looked amazing. I want the uberturbines covers but Aroham still don't do uberturbines for Model Y yet - they have one which is similar but it has less spokes and doesn't look right. Hoping they sell them soon!
I found the rimetrix to be annoying to remove and install. The center cap on mine were extremely tight requiring a metal pry tool to pop out. Will be ordering the Uberturbine Covers asap.
Bummer! I can't get the UberTurbine for the ModelY. They show "UberTurbine" but it's an "upgraded" version with only 7 spokes and not the full 10 spokes.
Do they make these for Model S 2015? I was wanting to convert my grey wheels to a black look and was thinking I could put a black set of these on (also to gain some efficiency too) 2 birds with 1 stone maybe?
I am fairly surprised about the efficiency. However 5 miles is barely representable i would argue. I have been driving Aeros, Orbitals and bare Aeros... and now i put on the 18" Uberturbines in Gunmetal. The difference between Orbitals and Aeros is minimal, i could not see ANY change at all. I live across the pond, so its the difference between 170 and 171Wh/km.But the difference to bare Rims is fairly insane, that increased consumption by a lot. I had to remove my Orbitals at some point cause i lost a cap and was driving bare for 2 Months, as i was waiting on my 18" Ubers. Your 10% increase is actually fairly little... with our highway speeds of roughly 150kph (94mph) its even more. Between Orbitals and Nothing i had a difference of "just" 17%. 217Wh vs 184Wh/km. Its so extreme that the same travel i did in february with Winter tyres and Orbitals was reaching the nearly same efficiency as in June with summer tyres and bare rims. In winter i did 240Wh/km, in summer 220Wh/km.... I am looking forward to record data with the Ubers, but it looks promising for now.

Great video! Thanks for the numbers. I’ve had my Ubers for about a month now. I like them so much that I ordered an extra set just in case one of them meet a curb and get damaged.
Great review. Were you able to track how long it took you to travel 5 miles on each hubcap? I know you set the speed limit with autopilot but if you end up behind another car that is going slower, this affects the energy used.
Ouch! I've been leaving those ugly OEM caps off and I put the black lug nut caps and black/silver center cap which I really like. But maybe next long road trip I'll put the Aeros back on and ignore the stink-eye looks I get! Cheers and thanks for the tests and effort.
Metal on metal scratches less than plastic on metal?!? The Rimetrixs lock in and won't come off. It may take a second longer but its worth them being secure. Road rash is also not an issue on the rims, as well if they get clipped they show way less wear. The metal clips do scratch up your rims by the way as they flex and move over time. Yeah the turbines look good but there will be damage over time.
Nice video and comparison, but did you also adjust the wheel settings in the Tesla UI? It resets the drive unit and calibrates it differently when driving with or without aerocaps.

It’s not hard to understand. Range increase over tens of thousands of miles + curb protection + aesthetics.
