I bought these for my model 3 just a note when applying the foam strips you need to actually start at a specific spot marked on the wheel per the instruction
That’s weird. Why would it makes a difference where you start placing the foam strip?
It definitely makes more sense to spend the lesser amount in the hundreds than to spend $2k on the bigger tires. These covers look great!
That's probably one of my favorite options that I've seen.
I would still do what I did - buy 2nd set of wheels, put stock all season performance rubber on that new set, put winter tires on the stock wheels with or without updated hubcaps. I agree with everything you said in this video, especially the start, good stuff.

I just put these on my car yesterday and the improved the look of my car dramatically!. I will say I still don't like the price tag for hub caps but they are a lot cheaper than spending 2K with the negative impacts.

It must be a generational thing. This all black thing the 40 and under crowd like is not appealing to me. I spent extra for the 19" alloy sport wheels on the wifes Model 3 SR and it looks great. I put the wheel center caps and lug covers on the standard wheels the day I got the Model Y LR so we drive these ugly wheel dressed cars around every day blissfully unaware of the judgement from from you youngsters 🙂

Low profile tires have better steering performance. I agree 30 series tires can be a PIA if bad roads are in your area.
I like driving fast on twisty mountain roads, so I'm with you on that. No drifting for me, but the extra precision and control in the curves is totally worth losing a few % of range.

I would go with the naked wheels. I think they look best by far. Not concerned about the slight range loss.

The 19" covers I bought off Amazon came with Tesla logo's on the center caps. They are just stick on's, but you can't tell once they are on.
Those covers look great! I have different style black wheel covers (they're also asymmetrical) from a different company and I love the way my covers look, also, and efficiency seems to be at least the same as stock covers while also holding up really well.

The price of these are an absolute joke. The stock covers are $35 a pop. These are about $75. If they were a similar price to stock I'd be in. All these tesla centric companies do this nonsense.
Yeah they are decently expensive but they are made in the USA if that matters to you. But many people are willing to pay two grand for the bigger wheels so I could see if you really want that look at being worth it
I bought black wheel covers from Tesmanian for $139 on sale. Shipping included. Normally $179 I think.

The ones from Tesmanian have held up great so far. They do have left and right marked on them so one side isn't backwards. Very happy with them.

Have them for a month. Love them! Looks really good! Have to rotate my tires. Do you need to take them off before getting it done? And how do you remove the center cap? Threw out the instructions.

i like the metal colored wheel cover look better, though i’m not crazy about the design of the original wheel cover. Does the one you put on come in silver?
plus you get better range with the smaller wheels!

Tesla must have chosen to allow a certain amount of air through the original for brake cooling. Makes me wonder how different the replacement ones are, however EVs tend to use little breaking so probably fine under most conditions.
The new ones look great - but I gotta say, the original ones would also look great if they were carefully painted.

Looks great! But I'll wait until to consider getting these until they remove the branding - even if it's subtle. I'd rather place a tesla sticker on the center of the wheel.
One advantage to real rims is they can't easily be stolen
I’ll be honest, I bought a set of covers from Amazon for my Model 3 18 inch wheels and it only cost $130. From what I can tell the build quality is identical to what Remix is selling and it could even be coming from the same factory. I think Remix is a bit of a ripoff tbh.
Check for made in China. If so, they're not the same
@@DirtyTesla I just looked and all the made in China ones are far different from the Rimetrix ones. They are made with a different plastic that isn't as durable and the design is not as good IMO. Many of the other vendors are just selling Chinese versions and calling it their own. Rimetrix seems to be the only US made product. I think we are buying these for the wife's Y.

Unfortunately they have terrible customer service. Ordered a month and a half ago and still hasn’t shipped. They ignored my update request twice and responded the third time only saying they will check on my shipment but never actually sent an update.
They look awesome. But they do not look mirrored so they have a left and right side.
