Every single time we went out there, the animals (which included two Turkeys and two Alpacas) would just stand there, and watch us do this until I formed them back up to go back inside to go to our next classes. Then I learned they were actually watching Me specifically, because my Elder Sister (who was still in high school at the time, she graduated last school year) took the Veterinary Shop, and we looked nearly identical to most people, so I imagined this is why they always stared. I love AFJROTC! My experience is a bit different from hers, but I think that's because the branch is different. We learn about the same things but don't have to give presentations or get asked questions during the inspections. We also have Military Ball, Corps picnics, field trips, B.O.B., Dine-out night, Colorguard (now called Honor Guard), and get into Homecoming for free if you sign up to do what they tell you. The nee cadets are a pain in the ass but most of them drop out after the first quarter.
I really enjoyed JROTC. I stayed in it all four years of high school, and it honestly helped me so much. I'm a lot better when it comes to socializing, I learned so much that you don't really learn in other classes, and overall, had a really fun time. It was also great because I went to 3 different high schools, and having JROTc gave me a sense of familiarity and made getting used to my new schools easier. I miss JROTC!
Yeah it's a good program. I did navy one year now I'm in army. This is my senior year. Can confirm most of these things, minus the presentations. Also ye most of them are funny
JROTC was one of the best classes I took in high school. Totally worth it. It's funny to see how the program is very similar in different schools all around the US.
I'm in JROTC it's great, especially on drill meets were you go against other schools and I might be crazy but I love inspection day!! JROTC is usually for high schoolers but I'm in the 8th grade since my middle and high school are right next to each other. I'm happy to answer questions you guys have.♡♡
This is exactly how my JROTC class is, the screaming and everything. I love it. But luckily I’m in staff, so I don’t have to do marching and drill on Wednesdays
I’m in NJROTC and shit slaps I fuckin love orienteering and I’m not even lying my mouth class leader and drill team commander said I was the best freshman at doing portspins and I joined drill in the second semester not to brag or anything

Right now I’m in NJROTC (basically JROTC for the navy) just got promoted to Lieutenant and I’m in charge of weapons operations. Our commanding officers (real military vets and not students) is a Lieutenant Commander from the navy and a SGTMAJ from the marines. Yail got almost the same thing we got but no over the top screaming.
I think they were referencing that specific classes were headed by an officer like in AFJROTC, in fact I’m even in one of those positions as c/2ndLt. (Use army rank system rather than navy rank system.)
I was able to become a 2nd lieutenant in MCJROTC before I had to move to a school with no JROTC and the weirdest part was having to watch a kid start tearing up because she didn’t get promoted
I was in an JROTC program, and I loved it. I made some of the best friends I ever had. I double promoted on my first test, and I always did great in knockout. I also got 200/200 on my uniform grade pretty much every time.
I STRONGLY DISAGREE! Being as famous as I am on RUclips, I know that it gets hard to read every comment I get. I try my best, but I am just so famous, that I can't do it much longer. Sorry, dear jsb
I’m in JROTC because my dad was in the military and I suck at being a human being. Glad to see this isn’t just some random program the school made up for high schoolers to do extra push ups.
i’m in NJROTC, which is just JROTC but navy flavored, and when i tell u it’s SOOO fun!! sgtmaj is like the chillest person ever, and the officers (the upperclassmen students) are chill and super nice! i’d recommend NJ to anyone tbh.
BROO i'm in JROTC and i'm so happy to see one of my favorite animators talking about it!! And the jokes were great! My pt would take place on Thursdays but everything else is compleatly true lol. One of my favorite memories from my freshmen year was when my company won honor company, each company got to make their own motto, and when you won something you had to sing your company motto; so Bravo (my company) made an army version of the barbie girl song. (i can write down the lyrics if anyone wants to see) We sang it with so much pride and were just rubbing it in.
You know, on account to the fact of "screaming." We don't scream, we sound off. They're trying to boost our confidence, not kill our vocal cords. Although this might be different, considering I'm Air Force JROTC..
I did JROTC because my older brother did. At first, I was a little intimidated, no going to lie. However, as I learned basic movements and training over the first few months, the program grew on me. Inspection, drill, marksmanship (air rifle), and all other activities were extremely fun. One thing that I appreciated the most is that when in JROTC, you are a whole family, everyone knows you and wants the best out of you, which really helped me come out of my shell (I was a little shy in the beginning of high school). Overall, JROTC is a great program, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to better themselves and be apart of something bigger! 'Oorah!
As a Civil Air Patrol cadet I LOVED the critiques at the inspection shown, at least here in CAP it is true that your either getting inspected by someone good or someone that will call you out and ruin your whole grade for the smallest of mistakes. 10/10 video
Haha, considering I’m in JROTC right now makes me laugh. 11 months ago I had no idea what Tabbes was talking about but now I can relate. For me, I only do a mile run for PT Evaluation. Every Friday my colonel (person in charge of the whole class) would make us play a fun game like Ultimate frisbee but with a soccer ball. He lets us have a little session called “Open Mic/Topic Time/Ughhh so many topics”. It’s pretty fun in that class. At my school, they have different uniforms that actually look pretty slick.
FlowWolf7 the difference for me was that we couldn’t choose to talk about anything,we would talk about different types of maps and locating areas based off of meters and supporting groups outside of school and donating and stuff
You say that when your instructor gets something wrong? We say it when we fuck up something. If our instructor says stuff wrong they say "as you were" not...us? Unless i read that wrong
@@thetigersayswolf7253 For example if someone says "order arms" instead of "present arms" you are supposed to correct them by saying "as you were". Colonel Kilroy: "Order arms" You: "As you were" Everyone else: *standing at attention while trying to hold a straight face*
@@Dimes_Farer only time ive told someome "as you were" is when theyre stuttering or something. So then they repeat it. If i were to call the wrong command i would say "as you were". I am also in a military school !!! Well, I am using a translator because English is not my first language yet, I came to this video by chance and understood 40% of it. and oh god. I am attending a military school (of my own free will) it is not a normal course, it is very similar to how you portray it. I got up at 5 am every morning and left school at 5 pm because I was an external regime. Every morning we went through the same thing, it is more difficult for the first year (Children of 13/12 years) since they were the ones who more "executed", "execute" is the way we call the lightening movements (Push-ups , Abs and some other type of torture, put your legs extended at 45 degrees while you are lying on the floor) I was not very good at physical education and I SUFFERED ENOUGH, I can talk about more anecdotes if you want, now I am in my 4th year, the next I can direct the rest of the courses, and force them to do these exercises if they do something wrong. Its beautiful. edit: I did not think that many would like this comment, thanks cadets

It is normal for people to see it as something strange and hard, come on, if you say it to me from 4 years ago, I would too
@@RestrictedHades He was only from an external regime because he lived near the base, but there are people who come from other states and spend 4 days there, God, they are strong
As a person who was in JROTC for 4 years, and enlisted right after high school. Lets not confuse the two. JROTC isnt a "military" program per se, its a program runned by the school with veterans as instructors. They teach you real shit, like taxes, budgets, first aid, etc. Still tho, its fun all around, from the people, to the roasts by the instructors in class. 10/10
Jrotc at my high school was literally the opposite. People would come up in there and goof around for a few hours, and the actual events were optional. I wish my class had been like yours.
When I was in JROTC everyone was like “why do you want to get yelled at for an hour and run forever?” But like Wes take an open book test that had 10 questions on it and then we’d all watch Russian car wreck videos on the smart board and the next day we flew kites!! It was awesome!
Oh my gosh, I flew kites in JROTC too! I'm in AFJROTC so we also got to make small planes and compete with each other to see whose flew further. Im also in the drill team and color guard. And we can get in free to football games and go on free field trips.
We have Military Club in every middle and high school in my country, we call it "Paskibra" They're usually the ones raising the flags whenever there's flag ceremony and independence day event
We don’t have military clubs in Indonesian primary and secondary school. Paskibraka is flag-bearing, patriotic but no military components. It’s a completely different thing. The closest thing we have is at the university level, which is Menwa (student regiment), which is somewhat of a mix between JROTC and ROTC. Taruna Nusantara and other similarly militaristic high schools are more equivalent to military high schools in the US, not JROTC.
I’m a senior and I’ve been in my 4th year or JROTC. I’ve loved it so much and have had so much fun with it. I’m a company commander this year and it’s been a blast. I’ve made great friends and I’ve learned a lot. I might pursue it in college.
As a JROTC cadet who’s been doing this for three years so far, I can confirm that this is completely true😂 but anyway, I highly recommend the program. It’s already helped me out in so many ways even though I haven’t even graduated. It’s made me so much happier and healthier and I know it’ll definitely help me in the long run!
Carrie Allie Yeah, I’ve been doing it for a bit too and it already has helped me a ton. The people in my battalion are so supportive and it feels like a family, it makes it a lot better when we gotta do something tough cus we just help each other through it. Amazing program tho, and it helps so many people with stuff.

(Take it from someone who's been exposed to both environments for quite some time) Unless you're an extrovert who doesn't have depression and crippling anxiety. (I don't have depression but I definitely have unbearable anxiety), you don't wanna go.
I was in Air Force JROTC during my sophomore year and actually enjoyed it. It was pretty much how it was described here. I actually remember one of the last days of the school year, we were removing rank insignia and such from all the turned in uniforms while watching Full Metal Jacket. That was a good day.
Back at my highschool, our jrotc members were acting like they were literally going to war. I had a dude call me civilian. Others were just asshats and thought they were superior to other students.
For real, there was a time and place to be serious like inspection and other social events, but some of these people were a bit too much and I'm not even exaggerating nor am I someone who doesn't take the program seriously
Hmmm, considering i had higher grades than most of the guys in that class. I knew my place pretty well 🤔. Majority of the people in the program had to redo senior year or be held back 😂. I was pretty content with my place. Only 2 outta everyone i knew is serving and they had the right to call me civilian.
