Restoration is one of my favorite schools of magic, followed by Alteration and Illusion. Bane of the Undead rulez during the quest "Proving Honor". When you are attacked constantly by Draugr Deathlords after you retrieve the axe fragment, all you need to do is cast Bane of Undead, summon 2 Dremora Lords and let them + Farkas do the job while you cast Vampire Bane. And there is more. Wards completely negate dragon breath, you can easily block a breath of Ancient or Legendary dragons with Lesser Ward. Wards can also negates Shouts, like Draugr Death Overlord's Unrelenting force, a Revered Dragon's Drain vitality etc!! These infos were tested on Legendary difficulty!! And they say Restoration is not a valid school of magic. Pitiful.
HumanOfPrey The shield you get from Peryite, Spellbreaker, has a similar ward, and dear god it is amazeballs against dragon attacks. Not that it ever really mattered to me, since I just kept hitting dragons with Marked for Death and then shot them full of arrows.

I just went through three of these videos, destruction, alteration, and then restoration. If you lay down a circle, cast dragonhide, and shoot lightning storm, you're protected. Also, if you have any magic absorption, you'll get magicka every now and then.

Huh? Restoration is important to all builds except with mages since mages also uses magicka even tho restoration belongs in mage class it also important especialy to warrior class and if youre a thief its a backup just in case.
That really only happens because I upload the script I write. That way the system doesn't have to figure out what I'm saying, it just takes the words I give it and figures out how to time them.

The restoration spells are underrated and needs more love. My favorite thing is being the white mage in MMORPG games. I mean without it you can't become a paladin class character. I wish Skyrim have more damaging spells for restoration like holy, smite, lighting spear, wrath of the gods and ECT. Can't forget avoid death, necromage , dual casting and ward absorb.

Ran into that glitch where she doesn't sell it to you. You do not have to talk to the augur again, just go through a door (loading screen) and go right back in. My last save before speaking to her was right after leaving the middle to find Collette after the quest, so I just went through a door or two before I found her again and she had the spell this time.
checks out, the "cancel dialogue with augur" option does indeed fix the bug. you obviously need to finish dialogue with him to get the test started but ultimately the fix worked.
if your a vampire another good way to get the restoration skill up is to use heal other and the vampiric spell at the same time on a lesser creature for a while , if as a mage equilibrium and fast heal together will work too
It was sooo painfull to master restoration on 90, but i don't regret it. Reward is soo good. Also you kinda helped me because of that bug i almost got crazy XD

The auger won't talk to me anymore and I dont have any save that old thanks to the me starting to run out of space lol ( screw it, I'm just going to bite the bullet and go all the way back to my local 33 save. Those are the mages robes you can get from some people across Skyrim. Depending on your level you can get the novice to master robes from court wizards of all the jarls. Despite the high price, they are well worth the gold.

I've always stayed clear of the turn undead and fear spells because being level based I never know if the enemy I'm targeting will be affected or not and with the way everything scales with the player chances are unless I'm specializing in using those spells they won't work the majority of the time, meaning I just waste time and mana.
A decent way to train it that I found is using the spell that consumes health for magika (forgot the name), and repeatedly alternating it with the basic healing spell. They do the opposite of eachother, but just watch out because one is more efficient than the other. Forgot which.

Restoration is good for having a build based around supporting a follower, but not too good for holding your own.
What about the spell Grand Healing? This spell heals 300pts instantly for only 150 magika

Couple the circle of protection with spell absorption stacks and you can have infinite magic for however long the spell lasts
it works on vampires as well. Great for Dawnguard questline.

Base level if the Level it affects without perks. When you spend points in the Restoration tree the level the spells affect will increase.

Radiant Raiment in Solitude sells alot of clothes, and then you can enchant it with fortify magic!
that's odd. in one of my playthroughs I found two master spelltomes by chance. Might be one of the 40+ I use...
I'm surprised you didn't mention the avoid death perk on the restoration tree, it's pretty useful in a pinch when you don't have any magic left.
