Darren Rogers good luck on your adventures friend I wish you safety on your journeys, I have just beat the game but I “took a arrow in the knee”. Only true gamers will find that phrase funny
@@soranaziz8348 I actually bought elden ring initially thinking it was a new Elder Scrolls, and they’re too different for me to really “either or.” I loved Sekiro so ER is right there.
If you are new, the collective Skyrim community welcomes you. I hope you enjoy the game and have fun. Games are for everyone young or old man or woman. This is an excellent game with a ton of replay ability, and a helpful community!
When you’re just starting out-pick up all the damn Nirnroots you can find and hang on to them, you’ll need 20 of them for ingun black-briars stupid fetch quest when you get to Riften.
Some things that I'd like to add that I personally find really helpful to everybody. - In my opinion the Bretons are the best race for starting mages, they are naturally gifted in mage skills and their Dragon Skin ability lets you absorb 50% of incoming hostile magic, usefull for fighting mages. Orcs make the best race for starting warriors because of their starting skills and their berserk ability and imo Dark Elves make the best race for starting rogues. - In terms of standing stones, the Atronach Stone is really the most usefull in any situation. The 50% spell absorption and can be stacked with the Breton's dragon skin ability or on its own. The 50 extra magika is useful for early game and if you're not a High Elf (fuck the Thalmor) and the debuff for spell regeneration can be easily countered with perks or items. Plus, dragons can't hurt you because their breaths are "hostile magic" ;)) - Don't be a "jack of all trades" character. It will limit you on key perks that you'll miss out on if you don't have enough skill. - Find a trainer! You can find trainers for each of the minor skills that can take you up 5 levels at a time to a set level; Common trainers up to level 50, Expert to level 75 and Master to level 90. The last 10 need to be gained from leveling or skill books. - Don't fight the chicken
Krillin but with hair everyone should read this comment bc the race and standing stone described in this video are not the best. Also I like using the lover stone to speed up my playthroug
I was quite shocked as well to hear just Nord and Altmer. Breton is good no matter what kind of player you are due to that magic reduction. That's a sweet bonus, as mages and dragons can be annoying. And how can you pass up that Orc Berserker mode for boss fights? 2X damage given, 1/2 damage received! I was expecting the person to say to really look at the race-specific traits. Like Khajit are awesome to use with just gloves/claw attacks, and the night eye is pretty useful early on, and for a completely different playstyle. Wood Elf is nice to use early when you don't want to fight those bears and trolls... don't know if the command animal thing works on Mammoths. And so on and so forth.
I killed chicken then I got attacked so I waited until night and took my revenge Plus flameon that weird elf lover guy doesn't got attacked for killing chicken
Just started Skyrim today... in 2019. Thanks for the tips and looking forward to my adventure. Bought the game as part of the Steam Summer Sale for a couple of bucks. Hope it's worth it. :)
Luskaaa But if he is on xbox and want to use mods than he cant unlock any achievements and playing for the first time vanilla is much much better than already with mods!
Some beginner tips I’d add: -Even though there are 18 skill trees you should really only be focusing on leveling up less than half that amount. Just so you’re not spreading your points too thinly. When you feel like you’ve leveled as far as you want in those chosen few skills only then move onto others. -Try to decide early on what type of weapons/armor/equipment you want to use. Doing this means you’ll know which ones you can sell or break down for enchanting, you’re not hoarding crap you don’t need, you’re making money and it keeps you focused on the style you want to play for proper leveling. -Get married and buy a house as soon as you can. I’d advice against having multiple places you call home. Keep all your shit in one place. Somewhere you can easily offload stuff, getting Breezehome in Whiterun is the go to option. Since you spend most of your time adventuring going for whats practical is better than whats aesthetically pleasing.
micronoid I agree, I actually limit my characters to only four perk trees one of the crafting trees. It is nice to have more realistic characters and ones with some weaknesses. Good post.
@@Jacob-bj2ps I suppose you could max out everything but you'd run out of quests long before then. And when I mean quests I mean actual quests not the never ending radiant quests. If you really wanted to max out everything you’d spend of most of your time grinding radiant quests and just doing tedious busy work like crafting every potion and smithing every type of weapon and armor. By then what would be the point, unless you’re really into collecting achievements. I did every listed quest that wasn’t a radiant quest line and I didn’t come even remotely close to maxing out everything.
I would add one tip: Don't rush into the main quest. Actually don't rush into anything. Do a lot of side quests and take your time when exploring so you don't miss anything. It's way easier to succeed at harder missions if you did a lot of smaller quests before because you'll have better gear and higher experience. When I played for the first time I had no chance against trolls, dragons or even Draugr Overlords because I was just trying to get through the story fast. Now on my second playthrough I take my time, never rush, do all the little side quests (even read some of the books) and it feels way better. I'm more prepared for tougher opponents and I get to enjoy every little part of this amazing game.
I just ran into my first draugur over lord I’m lvl 9 should I walk away from him come back later I’m new to the game my first time playing it mainly a fire mage so far an I got a melee weapon for back up with a decent enchantment but I walked in the room an heard umphh an flew across the room an died an since that I been watching videos abt beginners guide lol
i beat a draugr overlord at level 2 with 🔥, basic conjured wolf, and a steel sword. it wasn’t hard. it was in bleak fall barrows, my first quest. ifs that one easier that they usually are, or should i turn the difficulty up since I could it so easy?
Another tip for archers starting out. In Riverwood at the very start of the game, do the short sidequest where you help Faendal win Camilla over Sven. He becomes your follower, and can train you in archery. Pay him to train you, then ask him to trade supplies, and take the money back. Repeat as necessary. Boost the archery levels up fast.
I suspect there's a more detailed magic video coming soon but for anyone interested in Destruction: *Fire spells* are the best for raw damage, giving a DOT and dealing bonus damage to any target already on fire. *Frost spells* slow and damage stamina, meaning heavy melee enemies will have a hard time catching and hitting you. *Shock spells* also deal damage to an enemy's magicka, crippling other spellcasters. Importantly: apprentice level shock spells (and higher) travel a lot faster than the others or arrows, making them significantly more accurate (especially against dragons). *Finally*, the more expensive destruction magic gets, the less efficient it is for the magicka cost. More advanced spells will offer extra benefits like AOE damage or a persistent damage field. They should only be used if you can get the extra value out of them or if you have enough magicka/cost reduction/magicka potions. Otherwise you'll find yourself running dry before your enemies are dead. Edit: Staggering giant enemies only works if you have the "Augmented X" perk for Frost, Fire or Shock. I was deep into the game before I turned dragons on so I didn't realise.
Don't forget the fact that probably 80% of Skyrim's enemies have massive Frost resistances (nord bandits, draugrs, wisps, ghosts, vampires, dwarven automatons, frost dragons, frost wolves, snow bears, and to a lesser extent Breton forsworns), making the Frost elemental tree worthless in terms of dealing any sorts of damage. It's ironic too considering how Ice Storm probably has the highest raw damage per cast potential of all spells on paper, but not in practice.
too bad destruction is useless compared to the damage output you can have with lvl 100 smithing and enchanting. I'd really like if magic was more balanced because there are some nice looking spells in the game
Gustavo Spohr Well, I ran a very unfocused heavy armour/one handed mage (because I had a lack of mana and a bound sword). I still cheesed the fucking out everything with the dual-casting stagger perk. I struggled for a while, but once I hit a critical mass of magicka and regen there was nothing in the game I couldn't stunlock into dust.
Harvey Chesterfield the stagger perk is really broken imo, but it would be nice if the destruction damage scaled more later in the game. Or maybe it would also be nice if we weren't able to craft stupid strong weapons with wigh smithing and enchanting. I mean, the crafting mechanics are so broken that the unique items we find become risiculously obsolete
Love these Strife guides (and playthroughs) for Bethesda games. Nobody does it better. Your voice is right for it, the information is clear and concise, and the production value of the video is sky high.
the conjured bow has the same base damage as a deadric bow, making it one of the best, and the spell tom ecan be aquired very early in the game. the spell will also give you unlimited deadric arrows. for you new players, you should look into that.
I've spent 100s of hours in Skyrim, it's safe to say that it is my favorite game of all time, yet I still don't know all the secrets, haven't explored all the dungeons and haven't experience all the wonders that the province of Skyrim has to offer.
witcher 3 and skyrim are both open world rpgs but they're oretty different. Witcher 3's narrative wouldn't work without Geralt ( a defined cahracter so he obvi has to have voice acting) and its combat would fall apart in 1st person. Skyrim is more focused on exploration and the whole "go anywhere do anything" mantra of bethesda games and it comes at the expense of an inferior story and characters. They are both masterpieces imo but in very different ways.
@@bayfinest1938 nah Witcher 3 is not a rpg in the sense you are playing a pre defined character with no creation or role playing whatsoever the story is pretty good it’s a story based fantasy action game, whereas Skyrim is a fantasy open world rpg, totally different games Skyrim is bigger and honestly more replay value the Witcher has good lore and stories but imo some of them are pretty un original and basically to romantic. Skyrim has deeper lore and is more nuanced as a whole, both are good games but you are objectively false in trying to say one is better than the other it depends in what type of game you are looking for.
Just to let people know, by completing the barrow first before going to Whiterun, you are actually skipping a scene that only occurs if you seen the Jarl before going to barrow. I actually recommend that you go out of your way to experience that scene in at least one playthrough.
I think the point he is trying to make is, if you don't want to be "dragonborn" and use shouts, have dragons appear in the world, etc. Then don't do the main quest line
Something yo think about: If the golden dragon claw wasn't stolen, the entire main quest never would've happened. You never would've found the dragon stone, or learned Fus.
Letgy What are you talking about? My point is that if the thieves never stole the claw, you'd never know how to open the door. And because you wouldn't even know about the claw existing in the first place, you won't be about to use context clues and critical thinking to use it as a key.
Letgy You can't use it in those doors. And even if you could, your character doesn't know about it until the end of the thieves guild quest, so you wouldn't even consider it.
Just (finally) bought skyrim on sale and will be coming back to this. I only ever made it through the Fallout games by guides like this giving me an edge. open worlds can be overwhelming!
I watched this video back in 2018 after installing skyrim for the first time and still do not fail to come back to it when I need motivation to play the game again. It never fails to get me hyped up to be finally awake once more.
If you want help on keeping your smithing speech and enchanting up (and slightly alteration) through them Game which all take time here's to raise up and keep steady how: so first get the transmute alteration spell and always keep a pick axe with you. Whenever you get an empty soul gem try to fill it by using the soul trap conjuration spell which can be bought from the dragons reach court wizard. When you find a mine, you can activate an animation to mine by approaching an ore vein with the action button. If it is silver or iron ore good. If it's gold ore still good. Now fast travel on your map to the guardian stone. Activate the mage stone. Staying in that location use the transmute spell and it will turn a silver ore to gold ore. Then iron ores to silver ores. Then those silvers to gold. This may take a lot of magika so once you run out simply use the corresponding "wait" button to quickly refill your magika then repeat.Once you see on the top left corner of your screen: no more ore left to transmute, the activate the warrior stone. Now fast travel to white run. To your right should be a smelter, a forge, workbench and grindstone. Go to the smelter and smelt all gold ore to gold ingots. Then head over to the forge and select the jewelry section where you will find gold ring (2). Craft as many as you can. Now your smithing should have increased exp by a few levels depending on your level. Now fast travel back to the guardian stones and activate the mage stone once again. Travel to dragons reach which is just the jarls court in white run. Remember how I said when you find soul gems fill them by killing an Enemy after using the spell soul trap on them? Now head to the jarls court wizard room which is to the right of the entrance. You should see a blue table. If you have any armor enchantments then your good to go. If not, simply find a piece of armor that's enchanted and continue the steps I'm telling you. Head over to the table and disenchant your armor piece if you had no armor enchantment. Scroll down to "item" and select "gold ring". Now go to "enchatment" and select any armor enchantment which should be highlighted in white. Now scroll down to "soul gem" and select any soul gem you want. Now click the enchant button for PS4 this is square. Do this to ad many gold rings as possible. Now head over back to the guardian stones one last time. Activate the thief stone. Now head back to white run and enter the general goods store located in the market area in whiterun. Enter and sell gold rings until the vendor has no or too little money. To refill his money click the pause button and quick save. Now kill the vendor and reload that quick save. Now if done right, his inventory and money should be refilled so you can sell again. So from this your smithing enchanting alteration and speech skill should have all leveled up hope this helped.
Another helpful hint that I found is that there are two bolts you can use with the Dawnguard Crossbow. The first one is the original bolt that comes with the crossbow which can be found in Fort Dawnguard or by forging it within the castle. The other bolt is the Dwarven Bolt which can be found in most Dwarven ruins when you encounter the Dwarven Spheres.
I'm back, years later, from a different account, to say thanks again for making these. My wife is about to do her first playthrough and I sent her this guides playlist. I appreciate you. Much love to you and your family from us!
I first watched this last year when I started playing now with 100s of hours I still watch as there’s something I like about it his voice and the almost nostalgia is amazing
I started playing 2 days ago and am about 10 hours in and I’m already obsessed. I’ve never been huge into Action adventure role playing games but I obviously had to give THE action adventure role playing game a chance and god I’m glad I am. The dungeons are fun, the difficulty is somewhat challenging but still a blast, I feel accomplished when complete quests as opposed to feeling like I finished a chore, and I’m only just now going to the greybeards but it seems like the main story is really cool too
I usually recommend sticking to the main quest, because it takes you through a wide variety of experiences and locations, but it won't be a problem if you stray to do side quests. The main quest is also a good story. Skyrim and Oblivion might require some extra patience since the cooperation mechanics might be slow or confusing; if confused, try re-reading the quest log or a related book or note, and follow the compass arrow. And, don't forget to listen to the hilarious dialog from all the characters around you. Let me know if you have a new Skyrim LP going on youtube, I might check it out; I like watching others play Skyrim and Oblivion in their own, different way.
I'm new to the game, played for about 3 hours now, I came to YT to seek a beginner's guide, then I find this video and the start of it shows basically all that I have done by now 😅
I chose Khajiit to start with. The claws do 15 damage, and it’s quick, so weapons aren’t too big of a deal. Gloves of the pugilist add 10 unarmed damage, which you find under Riften. Also, Khajiit have added Pickpocket and Sneak.
Actually that is the enhanced crossbow, the standard one have no armour piercing, but all crossbows have a hidden 50% stagger chance. Oh and it would probably have been great to inform people that there are lots of bolts around Fort Downguard and they replenish with regular intervals, or you can just collect them from the people who practice around the fort. If you are not planing on joining the Dawnguard, or until you have progressed far enough to craft and buy them.
Mine arrives from Amazon today, for the PS4...I have like, three open-world incomplete games now...Witcher 3, HZD and this...I think I'll start today or tomorrow...
I think that the Breton is also a good choice due to the 25% magic resist.. combined with the Atranoch stone,, adds a 50% magic absorbtion, that's pretty good..IMO
I'm just starting the game as of yesterday and already have 5 hours in! Idk how I've never played it but I'm new to RPGS so that's why. I first played Witcher 3 and got hooked on the fantasy role playing. I already feel hooked! Great vid thanks!
This game has been out for years and I have incredible respect for the veterans who’ve stuck with it all this time. I decided it was long overdue that I buy a copy, and I’m already enjoying myself immensely. I have a feeling I will miss playing this game for the first time in the future so I’m trying to treasure these moments of blissful ignorance being new to the game.
William, this are the kinds of video I subscribed to you in first place. Not to discourage you from playthroughs and letsplays (they are fun), but this is broadcasting quality stuff :D
And yet the Skyrim video I released 2 weeks ago has only gotten 30k views. That's not enough to feed me, and these types of videos are not easy to make. I'm beginning to think it's time to pack up and quit making videos, because the numbers for me to live on are getting close to not adding up.
William Strife I know Will, I know It kinda makes me sad that videos like yours (and other quality, thought to produce content) get almost no views, while all this fabricated RUclips drama shit is getting the attention of masses. I completely understand your lack of will to do these, and I guess most of your viewers will understand if you quit. We will be grateful for the content you provided thus far :) and sorry because it didn't work out :/
Edniel Lee That doesn't make one a sellout... Sellout would be if someone compromised their integrity and abandoned their original content in favor of advertisements. Keep seeing people calling RUclipsrs like Linus(TechTips) a sellout because he has sponsored ads and content? Basically, we get a ton of entertainment for free, maybe stop being such a self centered crybabies, it really doesn't help creators a lot.
here are 3 more tips, 1st: there is a way to get 2 enchants on a single weapon basically at lvl 1, its called the steel battle-ax of fiery souls and to get it, you need go just north of the night gate in, near the pale, and you come across a path and at the end of it are 2 people, an argonian mage, and I believe a regard warrior who are bickering, these 2 people will help you on your fight to get to the axe, so you make your way to this arena and see a throne, with the axe at the back of it, and a word wall, (WARNING) there is a dragon priest fight so bring a companion and have a conjuration spell handy, this axe is a normal steel battle-ax with an enchantment that deals 10 burn damage and fills a soul gem, if the target dies within 5 seconds, the best thing you can do is disenchant it to get the fiery soul trap enchant to put on your current weapon, 2: the kolskeg mine also is a gold mine with exactly 48 gold ore in it, so bring a pickaxe, (WARNING) forsworn brier heart inside, 3: just outside of riftan on the path to a bandit. camp, there are the riftan watch towers, (WARNING).......JK, there is no risk in this task, at the top of each watchtower there is a chest marked (confiscated goods) with an adept lock, so you pic it and you find, 300 gold gold ingots gold jewelry silver jewelry leather iron ebony the list goes on and on, so there are 3 watchtowers so 3 adept level locks with master loot, have a good day
Brenda DeZeeuw -- Not at level 1 sadly, but yes I have. I've done them individually with previous character builds, but after reading your thread, I went in-game and did them all in the order you stated. Can you believe I had already got the word, but because I saw it was 'just' a steel axe, I didn't pay it the first bit of attention!? Didn't I feel like quite the dummy!
Scimitars are the best weapon for a long time if you improve your smithing. And there's an even easier one to grab under a capsized small boat on the north coast between solitude and Dawnstar.
Also a REALLY good way to hyper level smithing (aka the replacement method for the patched iron dagger smithing exploit) is to go to dwarven ruins and ONLY grab dwarven: plate metals, large plate metals, and bent scrap metals since they provide the most metal-per-weight ratio for smelting. Then once you get the usual 200+ ingots from smelting them all, buy iron ingots from the nearest smith and forge Dwarven Bows, watching that sweet Blacksmithing level rise like crazy. Can be even further sped up with Well Rested+Lover Stone.
joshua kim you can add the warrior stone with the aetherial crown for and extra 15% experience, and the ancient knowledge perk for a little bit on top.
+joshua kim or have your follower pick up some of the heavier dwarven metals, or all of them, you can even use those metals to level up smithing while making loads of bolts, provided you have enough firewood, that is.
I got my first ps4 and Skyrim for Xmas. Going to give it go today . I was an 80’s/early 90’s gamer (6-13yr) then got into music more. My partner bought RDR2 few yr ago and I was addicted . My fav game ever and made me want to start up gaming again
For me, I played every character except 2 to more than 60 hours each. Then the DLCs came out allowing you to reset perks therfore rebuilding your 500 hours of an archer to become a mage if you wanted. (After DLC was complete) So 1000s of hours playing and I truly do say that joining the dark brotherhood in the first 20 minutes of playing by killing 3 people in a room then sleeping gives you the whole Armour set when going back to their lair and is incredibly helpful at the beginning almost no matter the build your looking for as the dark brotherhood has mages, dark mage (1 handed and mage) high elfs (both hands mage), nords (2 handed) and sneak based (cat class) or archer based. All very useful for mid way through game. I did this almost every game. Very useful to grab early early on. (This was 2014-2017 i was playing) doubt it's been updated much since on class modifications but just a heads up in case and would love feedback if anything changed. ASLO! For any archer out there the first city you come across you can deliver a letter for a guy to a girl name selavine (literally in the building across) and he will become your companion for free! With that being said you can pay him to train you, take the money back and keep going! (5 trains per level) but even if not an archer you can spend the skill points in the mage class and have a great companion 👍
I’d have to disagree and say that Bretons are the best race for beginners, their 25% resistance to magic damage can be very helpful for newer, less skilled, players. Not only that but they also start off with the Conjure familiar spell, which, again, is very helpful in early stages of the game. On top of all of this you can activate the lord stone for a total of 50% magic resistance, so enemies like vampires, necromancers, dragons, or anything that uses spells, do 50% less damage.
OMG STEED STONE DOES THAT WTF?!?! Do you know how much wasted time I've spent going out and back into caves so I can take all the loot I can find and sell them?!?! Ugh anyways thx for the info this will help A TON
The ingots can easily be stolen late at night since guards aren't present until after speaking with Balgruuf. But aside from that, Hadvar indeed has much greater free resources in early-game, albeit siding with Ralof is the only way to get any free early Heavy Armor unless you get lucky with bandits at Embershard Mine or the camp with the first treasure map.
I never comment on videos but I just had to say your video layout is absolutely supreme I have never seen a RUclipsr put such a nice transition that's very informational like you
1. An easier early game scimitar can be found at an overturned rowboat west of Dawnstar. You'll fight a couple wolves and a couple mudcrabs. You can even pull the wolves to fight the mudcrabs while you await the winner from the water. Much easier to deal with at lower levels than a couple of corsairs. 2. Never had any use for the Steed Stone. The Lord Stone, on the other hand gives you +25% magic resistance throughout the game. 3. Character choice is more of a preference than anything else. The benefits mentioned for High Elf and Nord may make things a bit easier at the beginning, but that's about it. 4. Khajiit is the coolest character. I needed to get that out of the way first. I still think that the best character is Breton. Built in magic resistance. Together with the Lord Stone, you get 50% magic resist very early in the game. 5. Steel arrows can be taken from the targets that the guards are shooting at, from the castle in Solitude. 6. Dawnguard crossbow can be obtained from inside the fort. You can also find a couple of packets of bolts. You can get bolts from the newbie that is shooting at boxes.
Svetlana Rodriguez That chest isn't suppose to be available for the player, it's the inventory of an nearby merchant. Taking stuff from the chest is pretty much cheating. It's the same as spawning in items.
Svetlana Rodriguez don't forget the one outside markarth, the one inside whiterun (you will need to use the platter glitch to get to that one), and the one outside of solitude.
A MUCH easier way to get a scemitar at lvl 1 is to simply take the carriage at whiterun to dawnstar and heading to an unmarked flipped little boat on the coast west of dawnstar. Just look for the bandit camp and youll be near the right place. There are always 3 of them.
If you want arrows, just go out to the guards' training yard while they're training with the bow. They'll all fire a few hundred arrows between them every day. Just nab the arrows once they have 10-15 of them in the target. They won't be stolen or anything, so no danger or trouble, and no one minds you taking them.
Stray Dog-- Even better than that is to reverse pickpocket the guard and place ONE of your highest damage arrows in his inventory. He will soon after start firing those arrows and then you will have an almost infinite source of high damage value arrows. Trick also works at fart danwguard. There you would place whichever exploding bolt you prefer in their inventory and that's what you'll soon be recovering. Personally, I prefer the shock bolts for the combination of damage they do
Coming back to Skyrim again. Found this now, with over 2000 hours in the game, didn't know that you could reliably find a scimitar in the early game. Appreciate the effort put into these videos.

Plus, dragons can't hurt you because their breaths are "hostile magic" ;))
- Don't be a "jack of all trades" character. It will limit you on key perks that you'll miss out on if you don't have enough skill.
- Find a trainer! You can find trainers for each of the minor skills that can take you up 5 levels at a time to a set level; Common trainers up to level 50, Expert to level 75 and Master to level 90. The last 10 need to be gained from
leveling or skill books.
- Don't fight the chicken
Krillin but with hair everyone should read this comment bc the race and standing stone described in this video are not the best. Also I like using the lover stone to speed up my playthroug
I'm gonna fight that chicken.
Guys let's fight the chicken
I killed chicken then I got attacked so I waited until night and took my revenge
Plus flameon that weird elf lover guy doesn't got attacked for killing chicken
*i feel like im actually the only new player here oof*
nope again
am new too
I installed the game last weekend and have a couple hours in. I guess I’m still new, so.
Just bought this game an hour ago
Just started skyrim.
Just started Skyrim today... in 2019. Thanks for the tips and looking forward to my adventure. Bought the game as part of the Steam Summer Sale for a couple of bucks. Hope it's worth it. :)
hellfire0332 how are you enjoying it? I’m thinking of getting it for the Switch but am not sure if it’s good enough to warrant purchasing it.
@@ackminecrer9165 Mate if you haven't bought it yet, buy it; it's incredible, there's hundreds of hours of gameplay even without mods

Some beginner tips I’d add:
-Even though there are 18 skill trees you should really only be focusing on leveling up less than half that amount.
Good post.
Can you max out everything eventually or no
@@Jacob-bj2ps I suppose you could max out everything but you'd run out of quests long before then.
Watching this, coming from HEAVILY modded game, I'm actually feeling so nostalgic. Nothing beats the experience of raw, vanilla Skyrim.
no dlcs makes a vanilla game bubba gump learn what the word mmeans.
Nice tip
Just started the game definitely going this thanks
Fuck I ratted Faendal out

I suspect there's a more detailed magic video coming soon but for anyone interested in Destruction:
*Fire spells* are the best for raw damage, giving a DOT and dealing bonus damage to any target already on fire.
Ordinator and once Path of Sorcery (requires Script Extender) comes over to SE. Talk about a serious change to the magic system.
Harvey Chesterfield the stagger perk is really broken imo, but it would be nice if the destruction damage scaled more later in the game. Or maybe it would also be nice if we weren't able to craft stupid strong weapons with wigh smithing and enchanting. I mean, the crafting mechanics are so broken that the unique items we find become risiculously obsolete

the conjured bow has the same base damage as a deadric bow, making it one of the best, and the spell tom ecan be aquired very early in the game. the spell will also give you unlimited deadric arrows. for you new players, you should look into that.

I've spent 100s of hours in Skyrim, it's safe to say that it is my favorite game of all time, yet I still don't know all the secrets, haven't explored all the dungeons and haven't experience all the wonders that the province of Skyrim has to offer.
The witcher 3 is better
@@bayfinest1938 only if you can play the w3 in 1st person. Immersion and role-playing can only be conveyed in 1st person and mute protagonist.
witcher 3 and skyrim are both open world rpgs but they're oretty different.
@@zensoredparagonbytes3985 false
I actually recommend that you go out of your way to experience that scene in at least one playthrough.
exactly
Tyson W Why?
I thought it was good to become the Dragonborn. Why is that bad? Or am I missing your point, Tyson?
I think the point he is trying to make is, if you don't want to be "dragonborn" and use shouts, have dragons appear in the world, etc. Then don't do the main quest line
Sean Pepin no dragon to slain, boring :)
Something yo think about: If the golden dragon claw wasn't stolen, the entire main quest never would've happened. You never would've found the dragon stone, or learned Fus.
You could steal it yourself.
You can get the skeleton key.
Letgy What are you talking about? My point is that if the thieves never stole the claw, you'd never know how to open the door. And because you wouldn't even know about the claw existing in the first place, you won't be about to use context clues and critical thinking to use it as a key.
Hmm, true... What about the skeleton key?
Letgy You can't use it in those doors. And even if you could, your character doesn't know about it until the end of the thieves guild quest, so you wouldn't even consider it.
During this difficult time of Corona Virus outbreak, your guide reignited my interest in this game.
Great video, thanks a lot!!!
Concerning the crossbow ammo, you can lift Dwarven bolts off of Dwarven constructs inside most Dwemer ruins.
Probably not an early game venture though.
Thanks for the beginning tips.

Hi! I'm 45 and just about to play Skyrim for first time ever. Wish me luck :)
man.... This brings back wonderful memories... I remember exploring the world, and just admiring everything.
Almost 6 years after its release and over 1800 hours of gameplay and I'm still learning little bits about the game
and another 6 years after this comment
Another helpful hint that I found is that there are two bolts you can use with the Dawnguard Crossbow. The first one is the original bolt that comes with the crossbow which can be found in Fort Dawnguard or by forging it within the castle. The other bolt is the Dwarven Bolt which can be found in most Dwarven ruins when you encounter the Dwarven Spheres.
These guides are such high quality in editting and script. Wow, respect!
I have a couple days off work with not much to do. Downloading the game now and looking forward to playing for the first time.

I first watched this last year when I started playing now with 100s of hours I still watch as there’s something I like about it his voice and the almost nostalgia is amazing
Nord or High Elf, huh? Bretons have always been the best in my opinion, regardless of if you're going to be a mage or not.
The magic resistance is really useful
Dark elf if you plan to play as a vampire since it makes it neutral instead of getting negative fire damage weakness
@@brend1800 Being a vampire grants a 25% weakness to fire. Dunmer are 50% resistant to fire. So you have a 25% resistance to fire as a Dunmer vampire.

I started playing 2 days ago and am about 10 hours in and I’m already obsessed. I’ve never been huge into Action adventure role playing games but I obviously had to give THE action adventure role playing game a chance and god I’m glad I am. The dungeons are fun, the difficulty is somewhat challenging but still a blast, I feel accomplished when complete quests as opposed to feeling like I finished a chore, and I’m only just now going to the greybeards but it seems like the main story is really cool too
I'm Glad you are liking it friend 🙂
I keep restarting this game without ever reaching the end.... Love it... Never get tired of it.
April 2023 I’m just starting. Shocked I’ve never tried this game before. Just got my thu’um shout
Just got Skyrim and I love it so far! Gonna play it for years
I usually recommend sticking to the main quest, because it takes you through a wide variety of experiences and locations, but it won't be a problem if you stray to do side quests.
The editing on this video is really good.

32 unarmed with pugilist gloves
pff take it It's worthless to me anyway
I've been playing skyrim for 2 years and I still loved this guide :p
Crossbows ignore 50% of armor, not 50 points, but besides that, amazing guide.

Edniel Lee That doesn't make one a sellout... Sellout would be if someone compromised their integrity and abandoned their original content in favor of advertisements. Keep seeing people calling RUclipsrs like Linus(TechTips) a sellout because he has sponsored ads and content? Basically, we get a ton of entertainment for free, maybe stop being such a self centered crybabies, it really doesn't help creators a lot.
here are 3 more tips,
1st: there is a way to get 2 enchants on a single weapon basically at lvl 1, its called the steel battle-ax of fiery souls and to get it, you need go just north of the night gate in, near the pale, and you come across a path and at the end of it are 2 people, an argonian mage, and I believe a regard warrior who are bickering, these 2 people will help you on your fight to get to the axe, so you make your way to this arena and see a throne, with the axe at the back of it, and a word wall, (WARNING) there is a dragon priest fight so bring a companion and have a conjuration spell handy, this axe is a normal steel battle-ax with an enchantment that deals 10 burn damage and fills a soul gem, if the target dies within 5 seconds, the best thing you can do is disenchant it to get the fiery soul trap enchant to put on your current weapon,
2: the kolskeg mine also is a gold mine with exactly 48 gold ore in it, so bring a pickaxe, (WARNING) forsworn brier heart inside,
3: just outside of riftan on the path to a bandit. camp, there are the riftan watch towers, (WARNING).......JK, there is no risk in this task, at the top of each watchtower there is a chest marked (confiscated goods) with an adept lock, so you pic it and you find,
300 gold
gold ingots
gold jewelry
silver jewelry
leather
iron
ebony
the list goes on and on, so there are 3 watchtowers so 3 adept level locks with master loot, have a good day
Brenda DeZeeuw-- (WARNING) This cat knows what she's talking about!!
UrDaddy WingNut did you do al those things?
Brenda DeZeeuw -- Not at level 1 sadly, but yes I have. I've done them individually with previous character builds, but after reading your thread, I went in-game and did them all in the order you stated. Can you believe I had already got the word, but because I saw it was 'just' a steel axe, I didn't pay it the first bit of attention!? Didn't I feel like quite the dummy!
UrDaddy WingNut lol cool
Scimitars are the best weapon for a long time if you improve your smithing.
And there's an even easier one to grab under a capsized small boat on the north coast between solitude and Dawnstar.
This video is almost 3 years old, but still useful! A proof that people still playing this game ;)
You can collect dwarven crossbow bolts off dwarven spheres they deal more damage then the normal bolts.

(5 trains per level) but even if not an archer you can spend the skill points in the mage class and have a great companion 👍
damn. im actually excited to play this game i've been watching too many guides by now holy freak!
I’d have to disagree and say that Bretons are the best race for beginners, their 25% resistance to magic damage can be very helpful for newer, less skilled, players. Not only that but they also start off with the Conjure familiar spell, which, again, is very helpful in early stages of the game. On top of all of this you can activate the lord stone for a total of 50% magic resistance, so enemies like vampires, necromancers, dragons, or anything that uses spells, do 50% less damage.
looking forward to my first playthrough of skyrim.

one should always go with hadvar at the start... not Ralof.... cause free ingots (5xsteel and 5xIron) every other week^^

I hope you’ve enjoyed!! 💗
So you enjoying it so far?
lethal murrder its been a month already ?😂
lethal murrder it was really good
Beginners guide. I'm already 20 hours into the remastered version.
Continum I'm Already at 200+
I've got 170.
Continum 20 hours is barely anything considering how long it's been out
***** I'm only 33 :(
Only at 20? Ha!
I am an extremely casual gamer, and I have never played Skyrim. But I saw a video about Grandma Shirley and now I am going to start playing.
You forgot the invisible chest in Dawnstar.
@@Nick_7903 who gives a fuck
Great guide. Although I would argue that the Breton's innate 25% Magic Resist is much more valuable than the High Elf's +50 Magicka.
A MUCH easier way to get a scemitar at lvl 1 is to simply take the carriage at whiterun to dawnstar and heading to an unmarked flipped little boat on the coast west of dawnstar. Just look for the bandit camp and youll be near the right place. There are always 3 of them.
I’m a dark elf. First play through on the Switch, only 7.5 hours in. Loving it.
End of 2023 finally I pulled the trigger on this legendary game. First time ever playing it. I am overwhelmed by this video, I'll go meet the Jarl.
This video is such high quality.
If you want arrows, just go out to the guards' training yard while they're training with the bow. They'll all fire a few hundred arrows between them every day. Just nab the arrows once they have 10-15 of them in the target. They won't be stolen or anything, so no danger or trouble, and no one minds you taking them.
Same for bolts at the Dawnguard fort.
Personally, I prefer the shock bolts for the combination of damage they do
I completed this game 3 times and I'm watching this...
Just bought skyrim last week, i finally have the urge to watch a spoiler free guide, thank you again
The music was what got me into the game, I don't know but there is like a nostalgic feel about it but also a hint of destiny. Its just so beautiful.
I’m seeing all these comments saying how they have to played this game so much, I just bought it today. It looks like I’m in for an adventure
Yeah, I just hit 8 hours. In less than 48 hours....
First time playing Skyrim today . We'll see where the adventure leads.
I have never once played skyrim this totally helped
Coming back to Skyrim again. Found this now, with over 2000 hours in the game, didn't know that you could reliably find a scimitar in the early game. Appreciate the effort put into these videos.
What is better go with hadvar or ralof? I am breton
@@Peter_File69 depends on where your loyalties lay, I usually go Hadvar cause Ulfric is a cunt
Starting my first playthrough ever in 2023, 12 years after the launch. I have no clue about anything, but I’ve been having a lot more fun in this game than pretty much any other I’ve played in a while.
Does the Faendal exploit still work? Nothing like getting almost instant level 10 with free archery training XD
Nah that got patched ages ago. I discovered it by accident on my first playthrough and did the same thing :P
ScrubDotaTV You sure? It still works on my legendary edition even to this day.
HORRIOR it's only patched if you have the unofficial patch on PC
Ah I see. I've always had trouble keeping of that
By the way while we're here you guys should definitely check out my Skyrim videos😂
