@@MedroffYTI'm on this part of the video also and I have the same question. I tried just killing him there with out the quest but does not work. Please help.
I know he started a whole new one for the anniversary edition but he does a whole different set up. I don't feel like starting all over. I'ma just continue and come back w the quest n hope that works 😅
Just to be clear, it only affects dual-wielding attacks and power attacks. If you use right-handed attacks and power attacks, the speed is the same (unless you have perks in Dual Flurry, in which case any weapon in the left hand makes any right handed attacks 20/35% faster, but the dual-wielding attacks will still be fastest with a dagger in the left).
@@zipkaito6764😊 when I played this game I played it a year straight 😂 and I've just started another play though on my switch I'm doing a 100% everything possible 😆
1. Loot gunjar 2. Kill and loot the captain's armor 3. Hit ralof with passion for those upgraded one handed because warrior class is the best 4. Carrry on with the mission 5. Or you can just forget this list since you will still ended up as a stealth archer anyway
I mean crouch in almost all builds is strong i mean if its like max and you have more sneaking on your armor if use mage speĺls on enemys they dont ser you or just backstab and if doesnt 1 tap they still dont spot you if you have good sneak
This is more helpful than the actual video, thank you. Now if only I knew where those places where when he cut/edits right in front of some random NPC in some random building and says "yea, buy spells from this guy" then cut/edits away. LoL
@@TheDJOblivion The location cues in my timestamps should help with that. Just look up the location in a wiki for the specific NPC. (Or you could ask me about a particular timestamp.)
@@itsjjdavis4231 Probably because you haven't visited Helgen post-introduction. The introduction itself does not mark Helgen as having been visited (and thus available for fast travel). Veteran players sometimes double back after escaping just to pick up the location for later.
Don't read the skill books until late in the game, reason being is by that time it's much harder to level up wich means the skill books will be much more meaningful and worth reading at that point. Also because the enemys level up with you anyway so really there's no need to hurry up with skill levels from the books. Beyond that this really is a great opening.
I mean he levels enchanting first so it's clear he's not running any kind of difficulty as he would not be able to clear the bandit camp first up on Legendary and you need to focus entirely on combat skills so you don't level too fast and get stuck not being able to kill anything.
Reading all those skill books so early, you're missing out on extra skill points. If you go through and kill your first dragon, visit the Greybeards, and take care of the cultists, you can go to Solstheim and do the Ebony Mine quest to get to the first black book. One of the effects of the black book quests is to gain one extra skill point for every skill book you read. The earlier you do this quest, the faster you'll be able to level due to the free extra points earned and there are a lot of skill books scattered around.
1. Download a mod that lets you pick up skill books without reading them. 2. Just bring a follower to the book location “i need you to do something” have him pick it up.
Dude, you can go to Solstheim at any time. It only requires 250 gold once. No waiting at all. Absolutely no reason at all to do any main quest to collect nearly every Black Book.
Little tip for everyone if you get the golden claw but don’t give it back to shop Keeper , the river wood trader acts as a 24/7 , as in its open all the time
I really like how you stay faithful to the base game without using questionable exploits . It takes a lot of willpower to maintain that integrity throughout the playthrough.
I guess if you consider stealing Faendal's gold back not to be using a questionable exploit. You're not actually supposed to be able to do this, hence why it's fixed in the unofficial patch.
@@imzesok The comment was a actually a mistake: I confused him with a different uploader before even watching the video. I believe the person who I was thinking about goes by "MajorSlackAttack".
Couple updates: Azura’s star can no longer hold black souls which was not mentioned in this video, but a commenter incorrectly stated it can hold both white and black souls. This bug was patched, so AS now only holds while souls. Ebony mail quest was not bugged for you, it is just not available until level 30. Aetherial crown bug was also patched, so taking it off and putting back on does not refresh the 24 hour cooldown for the ritual stone proc any longer. Otherwise this guide was right on. Took me about 4 days to complete (with plenty of breaks). Now I’m ready to actually start the game lol
One change I would recommend would be get the BLACK star from the Azura's quest. It can hold ANY soul. You kill a lot of people. They have black souls, which are always grand. Pair that black star with the mace of molag bal or your bound bow's soul trapping. You're welcome.
Exactly, other than for RP reasons I have never had it turned into Azuras Star over the last decade. I get it but hey if u wanna step to the dragonborn your soul is forfeit, sorry I don't make the rules.
It’s important to note that if you’re a collector of unique items DO NOT disenchant the champions cudgel, you can find the chaos enchantment randomly from the blacksmith in solstheim.
@@Woody-fv7uu some people don't have the same resources as you in the world. Thanks for the guilt you're giving this person. Be a better person in life, please.
Pro tip: Leave skill books until later, since it's much harder to go from 90 to 91 in a skill than from 15 to 16. Take a follower with you and tell them to pick up the skill book so you can read it later when it counts for more...
every single soul telling me to read skill books when im level 1000000, me, who just wants to know what attribute to advance in order: Write that down! Write that down!
@@pascaltomasovic3586 Some folks take it even one step further! There's a passive you can activate in one of the DLC that causes skill books to grant two levels instead of one! So there's folks who wait and get all of 90-100 straight out of skill books.
That's really impressive... I've got thousands of hours in this game and lots of things you've done in this video for me are completely new.. Skyrim is really a masterpiece. 😮
Your guides are absolutely the best that I've seen. I've been playing Skyrim on and off for years. I probably have 500 to 750 hours and your guides show me things I've never seen. I like playing with exploits and without. I'm usually an archer but now Mage is becoming my favorite. Again, absolutely amazing. Thank you!...
the amount of informations that i received after 8 years of starting playing Skyrim is unbelievable 😅 .. every minute in this video is a treasure.. thank you💪
Well believe it or not I’m a newcomer to Skyrim even though I’ve been gaming.for years. I’ve just never got round to it…until now. What I will say is this guide is hands down the best one I’ve found after the trawl I’ve had trying to to find one. it’s helped me out big time. Thanks mate I hope you get a ton of viewers
Been a fan since the fallout 4 guide and I'm so happy to see this channel grow. This is truly one of the best guide channels out there. No long intro or filler bullshit only helpful tips and tricks to make your character a much more powerful player in one guide. God Bless
this is the best guide even for someone with over 1k hours in the game lmao, a lot of things I don't know exist because most of the time I just wander all around killing people and role playing the whole time, this is so great
I can't believe I have been playing this game for 10 years and after the first 3 minutes of your video I learned a lifetime of knowledge. Thank you so much for this video, I truly appreciate it!
I love the passion behind this video and the desire to bring awareness to Skyrim so many years after release. That being said, anyone who wants to finally try out this masterpiece of a game for the first time, please do not follow videos like this. Go into the game, learn as you go, explore the areas, get lost in the world, do whatever the hell you want to do. This game is amazing, have fun with it. (Obviously can look up vids if you wish to dive into certain things such as alchemy etc.)
@@hughmellerick4417 i don't know, i've had the game since 2014 but couldn't ever get that far because i didn't understand concepts like smithing/enchanting/alchemy. recently i downloaded it again and by following the first 10 minutes of this guide i learned to enchant items, mine ores, craft items, etc, as well as visiting places i have never visited before because i was too inclined to just follow the main quest. in 8 years of playing i was always resetting the game soon after bleak falls barrow and this video made me realize the main quest is the least that skyrim has to offer
This is very true. I am a skyrim virgin because when it came out I was young and I did not like it at all, I did like Fallout 3 though which is based on the same engine, so I felt it was a bit of a cake-on-cake situation for me and that skyrim I found Skyrim clunky. I am now playing through it and I wanted to watch a video on some tips and tricks which this guide's first minutes really did show me, but its not the way the game should be played, so I followed it until I was where I was area-wise for my quests and stuff like that and now just glide through the world.
I plan on getting the game soon, but I am torn about how I want to approach my 1st playthrough, on the one hand I would like to play it without any guidance, but then on the 2nd hand I would like to have a good road to get established gear/skills etc wise. I know I can playthrough multiple times but with games like these I tend to put 100+ hours into them on 1 playthrough and tend not to play more than once because the amount of time I put through them on the 1st playthrough.
I only started playing Skyrim a couple years ago but started with the alchemy exploits which was extremely fun but I'd get a few quests in then restart my build, it used to crash a lot coz my gear was ultra boosted and I had unlimited weight which means I had half of Skyrim in my pocket, then I discovered Creation Club and Mods omg! It just made all the unique gear obsolete, feels good to play through without it.
This is pretty awesome considering I’ve run this game numerous times, leveled to 80-85 in normal mode both on Switch & Xbox but you’re gameplay is far more tactically advantageous than my play throughs. There were locations and tricks I never considered. Thank you.
Is the switch version decent? I recently got a switch for Christmas. I been playing Skyrim for years on pc and Xbox. I know it’s not gonna look as good but portability and playing on the go is what I’m interested in. Is Skyrim manageable in switch handheld mode?
@@zgbenzz Apart from the joycons being pretty shit, it’s still nice to be able to play Skyrim on the go. I believe the FPS is 30 but you get used to it pretty quickly. Definitely worth it in my opinion. Plus it doesn’t look that bad ‘cause your screen is small.
Minor bonuses: - Chop Firewood and sell it to the Bannered Mare to befriend Hulda and sleep for free to get the Well Rested Bonus, which stacks with the Guardian Stones; in general doings jobs to befriend people lets you take anything from their home for free if the cost is 30 gold or less - For Faralda's test at Winterhold, consider reloading until she asks you to summon a Flame Atronach, she'll sell the spell to you for a few gold - At the College Midden you can make Staves to summon Atronachs by combining the Brooms and Greater or larger Soul Gems around the College with a few other ingredients inside the Atronach Forge: Fire Salts and Corundum for Flame Atronachs, Frost Salts and Moonstone for Frost Atronachs, and Void Salts and Orichalcu for Storm Atronach; staves are handy for their extended summon range
Stripping the Bannered Mare bare and selling off the loot is also useful early on Giving a farmer a cabbage, loot his farm, and then murder him for the inheritance, is also a good way of making money fast. The owner of Pelagius Farm is the best candidate, as he will automatically die during the siege of Whiterun anyway.
Nearly the exact same way I've done it. Since I favor the bow first, I merely have the same hire.. have him train me on the bow, then, since he is your follower, merely go into his inventory and take your money back. Just keep training and grabbing your money back. Once I get this start, I Branch off into the other skill sets as I go along. Sometimes I play the game really slow and drag it out for months, which is my favorite thing to do in the winter time. Skyrim... Definitely my number one game of all time
I like your comment. It's my first playthrough and I have really taken my time because of some advice. Do I need to just beat it at this point and start over or does most of the quests continue after main is done
Do everything but the main quest first! Save the best for last lol I guess technically the Dragonborn dlc can be considered a story extension but I love doing it before main missions
Just passed some ruins with 20 bandits, mages, archers and some falmers by my side. In the field outside I recruited a giant and a mamoth. No more sneaking and bound bow! It is more like a LOTR battle! I have the Aetherial Crown and the Ritual Stone on Favorites shortcuts ( I am playing on PS4) and I can spam them in a second! Thank you, GameVibz! It took some time, but I followed almost all the steps, still prefer the Legion and Frea though! I am subscribing! Cheers!
just started my first play thru yesteday. i got all the way to the full dwarven armor and weapons. bout to go to magic college or some shit. my bow and arrow mate, fan something, he died. damn bandit miners. the only criticism i have is the combat system: i have no idea when i am making contact vs swinging aimlessly. otherwise, this game is an incredible feat for 2011.
Good hints. On the way to Winterhold / Azura's shrine I usually make a little stop at Ironbind Barrow for the Fiery Soultrap enchantment. Helps add a little pfupf to your early game weapons.
From my experience it dosn't. Its always 3 ore per ore vein every 3 hits regardless of using the animation or attacking. unless there is some technique to bug out the animation.
@@rivex5636 I think you are reading the text. for some reason I think there is a delay in how fast the text appears. Doing the full animation will always give you 3 ore regardless it just won't show the text but it will still have 3 added to your inventory. the only reason you get less than 3 ore is if you mine a gem like a ruby or garnet etc... then the gem will replace the ore. That is unless your game is bugged...
basically you get 1 after 3 hits with text, one after 6 hits but it will not display the text as the old text still has not had time to clear, and one after 9 hits which will display text again as tge old text has cleared by now. the ore is still added to your inv tho. its just a display feature with the text. by exiting the animation you just give time for the text to clear thus allowing it to be displayed again. but the sound will still play and add a ore to your inv even if you dont exit.
Pinewatch is also a good spot for gold and ore, ingots just becarful it is kinda tough at the start. Once you go up to the talos shrine drop below the thalmor guy and follow the rocks until you come by logs run passed tbe logs kill the wolfs. Then run up to the house icon. Make sure to still have some lock pics. Its an adepet lock to get in go down stairs kill the guy at the bottom and betwen the table and the post there is a button to open the secreat door
Yo 5 minutes in and I've already learned more then most skyrim guides. Thanks for your hard work. This will be perfect on my second play though when I play as a mage.
Nice to see another perspective on a new game playthrough. Only thing id suggest, esp if dlcs are involved, is to get the house in Falkwreath. Having a base tht can raise/farm all support skills such as Alchmey, Smithing, and Enchanting early on is incredible. Just have to do a single bandit and you can farm alchemy ingredients. Falkwreath doesnt require multiple help quests to purchase property. No Thane title needed which is great.
I loved the video learned some things I didn't know so here's a tip I didn't see in it for smithing to 100 as well as unlimited gold when you get enough gold ingots drop them individually in whiterun have your follower pick them up then fast travel out of whiterun then fast travel back your gold ingots will be duplicated drop as many as you like to double your ingots each time then sell to the smith lady next to the entrance use your save hit reload trick to do this endlessly again thank you you've made this game so easy for me lol
HERE IS A TIP for anyone starting a new game... once you make it to the bear in the cave.. Find a nice spot against a rock or along the wall of the cave, near the bear. (While sneaking)... And just continuously sneak at the direction of the wall. Do that for as long as you wish to advance your sneak skill. On consoles you can take a rubber band and force your joystick upwards, I call it "auto pilot", and leave it sit. I myself will leave it connected to the charging dock so as the controller will not die. On PC, simply hit the C key (I believe it is) to auto walk forward. This will work while sneaking. I usually do this till I reach level 100 on the first legendary. This as you can imagine, takes some time. Without any mods to speed up leveling up, expect at least 4 to 5 hours. But in a new game at the very beginning, you'll be around a level 20 when leaving the cave for the first time. Cheers 👍
I used to do that, sans rubber band. I just restarted n killed the bear rt off n was like WTH did I do that? Oh well. Didn't bother to reload a save though. I'll just sneak around in the bandit cave.
You can get a staff of paralysis from snapleg cave at level one. You can make a storm of staff atronach using void salts, a grand soul gem and a broom at level one at the atronach forge (void salts can be stolen in the potion shop in whiterun, grand soul gem can be bought from any mage merchant). These level the playing field on Legendary as they are super powerful effects that aren't affected by the difficulty modifier.
Thanks for the vid, just a few things: - Why use sparks, when flame does more damage for less magicka? yes, more creatures have fire resistance than sparks, but not so much that early. - if you side with the imperials, Alvor's ingots will be free to take (and not steal). - when looting gear, generally prioritise the weight/money ratio. - at the first bandit camp, sleeping on the mat gives a "rested" bonus!
If you're a caster, or a spell sword like I do, this isn't the best way to start the game. Get the Thalmor gear, yes, but you're going to wear it until you get your enchanting up. 1. "The Book of Love" quest in Riften gives you Agent of Mara ( 15% resistance to magic). 2. "The Heart of Dibella" quest in Markath gives you Agent of Dibella (+10% melee damage to the opposite sex). 3. "What Lies Beneath" quest in Frostflow Lighthouse gives you Sailor's Repose (Healing Spells restore 10% more health). And later, when you start doing greybeards stuff, there are three "Meditations on the Words of Power" you can choose from. 1. Force Without Effort - You stagger 25% less, and foes stagger 25% more. 2. Eternal Spirit - While Ethereal, you recover health 25% faster. 3. The Fire Within - Your Fire Breath Shout deals 25% more damage. I always choose 1 if I'm not playing a vampire, and 2 if I am, for obvious reasons. If you're a Blade, also do the Dragon Research quest so you get Dragon Infusion, and you take 25% less Melee Damage from Dragons. If you're a caster/spellsword, restoration tree is the first tree you build. You want to get Recovery 2/2 so your magicka regenerates 25/50% faster, you want to get Respite and Regeneration so your healing spells restore stamina and your healing spells heal more, respectively, and when you're capped, get Avoid Death so you gain health when you fall below 10% health once per day. Then I get to work capping out Destruction tree, and I get Destruction Dual Casting and Impact so my destruction spells can be dual cast for a stronger version and stagger opponents, (very useful against Dragons). Then Illusion tree to get up to Quiet Casting perk so my spells are cast quietly. Then I work on Alteration for the Mage Armor 3/3 where protection spells like Stoneflesh are three times as strong if not wearing armor, Stability so Alteration spells have 50% greater duration, then Atronach so that I absorb 30% of the magicka of any spells that hit you. Warning.. if you're going to be using conjuration, don't get Atronach if it will put you up to 100% spell absorption or you won't be able to summon. Get Magic Resistance 3/3 instead. Then, enchanting all the way up. Enchant 4 items with 25% reduction to destruction and you can cast even the biggest spells for free. Fastest I've done all of these is level 40
Travel directly to Whiterun. Fall through the map and go around to the hidden chest under the sky forge. Sell what you don't wear. Do the merchant glitch for max gold. Take the carriage to Dawnstar. Do the hidden box/merchant glitch and train smithing, enchanting and alchemy. Go to Windhelm and go to Sadri's Used Wares and buy rings of health, stamina, mana rejuvenation using the merchant glitch. Go to Riverwood. Train with Faendel. Do Bleak Falls and the Watch tower. Buy a house in White run and collect enough ingredients to do the Restoration glitch . (20 Abeleng Fin, 20 Cyrodil Spade tail for restoration) ( 20 Blue butterfly , 20 snowberries for fority enchantment ) enchant ring, amulet all armor include smithing. improve all armor. God Mode. Go explore.

All of these can be found in fixed locations, and budget version of only Storm staff can be picked along the way to Forge
THIS... This is the ultimate beginners guide, my god. You explained things I did NOT know and I've been playing for two weeks now. I'm considering quiting and redoing it over again 😂😂
I go for Elvin armor for light armor early in the game by choice. I will check a few places where The Aldimari Elves are quick marching, with or without a prisoner, and stick with them like a tick. They will clear a path as I gather flowers and butterflies behind them. They are usually on their way to Solitude or their Embassy near Solitude. In both instances, they will encounter some tough bandits with the worst of the lot at Robber's Gorge. I will run into the camp as they approach to ensure the tough ones inside, including the Bandit Chief, come out to play. Usually all the Elves die and all or most of the Bandits die, and I get all that gear early. I can sell the rest at the Stormcloak camp or Solitude, I'm way over-encumbered, but worth it. There is also the hidden Bandit Chief's chest on the stream island.
lol smart i like that, yeah i see those high elves usually 3 of em near solitude on one of those roads, tha1ts too funny, i usually kill them too but i should do what you do and follow em for a while.
@@westoftherockies It’s one of a few random encounters that allow me to follow the roads without getting eaten early in the game. Also, no risk of Elves turning hostile.
If you choose to follow stormcloak in beginning you can also improve your sneak skill up to 100, buy do not use the key to open gate to continue. Just keep attacking him on expert mode, and sneak mode until you level up. Choose to improve sneak peek once you level, then continue to attack him in sneak mode and you will level up quickly, and can also improve other perks as well. I left Helgan at level 20 to start.✌
Hello Gamevibz and skyrim players! It's been 7 months from the first time I watched this video. I have absolutely NO REGRET following all of this guide. It makes me wondering about things just then, for example "What is Molag-Bal? Why is he so creepy?" and thats how I know lots of thing about TES lore. I played Skyrim for the first time in my old laptop with broken screen, so im playing using half resolution :D, but it still fun! Now that I have a new device and could afford money to buy Skyrim, but I realize it can't bring back the same memories.
Here is my short giude. - Get out of Helgen - Travel to carriage near Whiterun Stables - Travel to Markath - Go Kolskeggr Mine were you will kill forsworn, and mine Gold, - Melt Gold Ore into Gold Ingots - Tavel to Left Hand Mine were you will meet Pavo Attius who wil give you a reward for clearing Kolskeggr Mine - Travel to Halted Stream Camp were you will find Transmute Mineral Ore Spell, and loads of Iron Ore - Transmute entire iron Ore into Gold Ore, and then melt it into Gold Ingots - Now find any Forge and turn your entire Gold Ingots collection into Gold Rings. This wll give you lot's of money, Smithing skill, and as a bonus you can even level up Enchanting skill.
I'm glad you are making this guide most of the glitches in Fallout 3 were patched. Thank you for making these guides, your guides are to-the point but also comprehensive.
Damn man I was honestly kinda sad when this ended this brought me from level 1 to 43 before I even retrieved the horn of Jurgen wind caller and I’ve been following it for about 4 days Ty so much bro
For anyone who cares about missing items, there are necklaces that you can only get at certain levels (1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 15-20) in Solitude. The most important one is resist disease 100%. You have to go to the clothing shop in Solitude, and do the reset NPC inventory trick until they show in her list. This is the very first thing I do after the standing stones and leaving Helgen on every new character.
I am very lucky I found you. I am new to this game with the Anniversary Edition. I found you in my first night, before starting. I see many comments express extreme gratitude in your Best Start despite their overwhelming amounts of game play. So, I'm going to follow fate and use this as my tutorial.
Don't. This is a terrible guide. Always leave stuff like dawnbreaker and the mace of molag bal to when you're level 40 as they are levelled items. This guy has taught everyone the single only way to permanently wreck their save and ensure they have to reload. Getting all that stuff early when it's under powered is just about the only way to ruin your game in a way that can't be fixed forcing someone to restart to get the best stuff. I can't even. I'm so bothered by all these poor people thanking him for ruining their play through.
Actually the Mace, dawnbreaker and spell breaker are always the same level those ones don't scale lol so it is best to get them early as possibly. Other weapons like chillrend yes but not those.
@@GameVibzMason no. Incorrect. You are telling people to get all the levelled end game stuff at the start of the game. The mace of molag bal goes up to like 47 magic and stamina damage and your version has 25 magic damage. It's not the best version of the mace. Now, it's been a decade since I played skyrim and I'm not perfect. You may be right that dawn breaker isn't levelled. I'm not going to check every piece of equipment but obviously some of it is unlevelled and safe to pick up at the beginning of the game but thats all irrelevant and you're missing the point. You may be right about this or that, you may have ten chillrends and twenty spell breakers and be a wizard but you didn't mention that some items are levelled. Not once. I really don't care if you know that ActUaLly the sanguine rose has 337 charges and not 317 like I suggested, or something. Wow. You're definitely right about everything and a wizard but I don't care about that. The one piece of advice they needed, the one piece of information you could have shared in order to help them avoid ruining their game you didn't bother with and you instead promised them a load of levelled loot that they shouldn't pick up until the end game. It's the only thing a new player really HAS to know in order to not have to restart their whole game. They don't need to be told about the mace. There's literally no way to avoid it. The quest starts the moment you walk into the town for the first time. It's impossible to avoid. They don't need you to tell them about it. What they needed was to be told NOT to complete the quest until later on. You're treating people like they are too stupid to even find or complete the quest that is hardest to miss in the whole game and refraining from telling them the one thing they needed to know about that quest that the game doesn't tell you. You gave the advice they didn't need, patronising them in the process and failed to give them the advice they did need that they couldn't possibly have known or expected. You can pick holes in my arguments and you can expose me as a terrible awful wanker who should immediately shut up and go away but I won't recant. You had one job and you fucked it up. That's my opinion and I won't take it back but do please tell me how terribly wrong I am about everything...lol. If it was me the first thing I would do is explain about levelled items, something you never did. But if dawn breaker isn't really levelled like I thought then you must be right about everything. Sorry I'm so stupid and wrong again, you gloriously big brained youtubers (but this guy gives bad advice, hate me all you like peeps but this is not a good guide, sorry).
@@KingDomIV I love all criticism would you mind watching any of my skill videos and giving them a jab? I learn as I go to man lol I will definitely keep that stuff in mind for future vids
Bro you can get storm attronach tome/staff at level 1. You also do not need to pay. Just grab ingredients from the college & whiterun Ruined book- whiterun Mamoth tusk-whiterun Void Salts- steal college Deathbell- steal college or just find Go into the midden atronach forge gg. Idk how the mace of molag bal is the best 1 handed weapon either. Harkons sword, & Miraaks both do better damage. Plus their are weapons you can make better from enchantments.
So now I've watched the whole video and I have to say this was the best guide to solstheim ever it was so straightforward. Also great guide. Nice job keeping it super open and not picking a one build type.
I haven't played through so much of the content in this game... it's crazy. I'm going through it now in VR, with all the best immersion mods and it's almost life changingly awesome! The cool thing about having rushed the main story all those years ago, and leaving so much alone, is that now in VR, it's like a perfectly preserved time capsule, with modern graphics, VR mechanics but otherwise running content A DECADE old, and it's my first time! I wish i could describe how awesome that is, but i get the feeling people understand lol.
There's something to be said for getting Werewolf early. It scales _really_ well early on and doesn't level your stats, allowing you to get the most out of it. And if you get married, you can still get a 'rested' bonus. Unless they patched that. Still, it's time not spent crafting, same with the Black Star. I also strongly prefer to save any skillbooks for the last 10~ levels of a skill. Especially with Mora's boon to double skill points.
You’re amazing! First time ever playing, am very new! And not only u have made a great intro and i could fully understand you! You made me fall in love with the game, and thats very much appreciated brothers
The perfect noob guide. I got this a couple of years ago, blundered around dying, and got sick of it. Now I'm actually having fun. Learning by doing. Thanks GameVibz!
Good video. I've played long enough to already know about most of this, but the order you're doing it is very interesting. I've always done enchanting last, so it was new seeing someone doing it early. This slants towards a jack-of-all trades with a slight bias towards a one-handed build, but this was cool too. All in all, this is a very helpful video for new players. A few points I would add: --Money is usually a concern early, so I make sure I chop a lot of wood when I get to Riverwood. Tedious, but worth it just that one time. Also, take the key to Faendal's house and take all his stuff to sell it. Not much, but every little bit helps early in the game. I'm a training freak, so money is important early. --Killing the vendor to reset his inventory is more like a cheat or a glitch so I'm not sure why that one is here. --If you have the latest patch installed, you can't take money back from trainers anymore. --At the storeroom next to Mzulft, don't just take the dwarven ingots. Take all the dwarven junk and smelt it into ingots. You'll wind up with more than 100 ingots. Craft (and upgrade) dwarven bows to increase smithing quickly. --Reading skill books early will give you a small boost early, but you'll regret it later. Going from 90-100 in a particular skill is often a pain and reading the skill books after level 90 is very helpful. --Warning about mining ore. If you attack a vein instead of mining it, you run the risk of the vein not respawning. --If you're buying soul gems, check out general goods merchants and Khajjit caravans as well as mages. --If you have Hearthfire installed, skip the giants toes and go with garlic+salmon roe+nordic barnacles. You can get more of these ingredients quickly and the waterbreathing potion is worth more anyway.
Just a warning to anyone else who hasn’t reached level 30: at @16:38 OP tells us to go to Sacellum of Boethiah and get the ebony mail; if you go there before level 30 there is a bug that will prevent you from completing it. I found out the hard way. It’s a whole thing, people online everywhere have issues with this. 😭 be careful! EDIT: OP even mentions he runs into a glitch and seems like it’s no big deal but it is 😭😭😭
I’ve never played the game like this before but I’m literally gonna roughly copy you right now cause this is so fun to follow. Just subbed and liked the video and I would love to see you do challenge runs or specific runs through the game. I’ve been loving your content man really good stuff.
I copied and pasted the rough guide (under 'show more') and have it annotated with the most helpful comments here. Might just have to ditch my lv 30 stealth archer for now and start over.
You can get two Dawnbreakers by using Grand Paralysis spell or scroll in the room of the pedestal before picking up Dawnbreaker. The second one will then be somewhere on the ground.
I'm doing this right now on my new playthrough. I gotta say, I'm not even halfway through the video, and I already feel insanely more confident about this build than I ever have before. I'm not a newb, but I'm also not a pro, so I appreciate a good head start sometimes. Thanks for making this for us, you're a truly cool human 😎
I feel like the baddest b*itch that ever walked skyrim. All I have left is to run back and grab the ebony mail, enchant some armor, and go grab the crown. Clearing out Embershard mine was tough enough too. But that's my first cleared area. I'm now using it as my first base. But the beautiful thing about legendary is that once you do become a god the grind will feel even more satisfying! I'm only on like level 14. My plan is to just roam and unlock certain points on the map and kill what I can around the falkreath area heading west. Then go north till Whiterun is to the east. Hit the iron mine just by it that has transmute ore spell tome. Skip WR and head to Fort amol for bound bow! Should make the grind a bit easier for me once I get there!

I keep forgetting that a "True Gamer" analyzes the programming in every game....awesome, yet TEDIOUS stuff, Bru !!

@@TheDJOblivion The location cues in my timestamps should help with that. Just look up the location in a wiki for the specific NPC. (Or you could ask me about a particular timestamp.)
Why can’t I fast travel to helgen
@@itsjjdavis4231 Probably because you haven't visited Helgen post-introduction. The introduction itself does not mark Helgen as having been visited (and thus available for fast travel). Veteran players sometimes double back after escaping just to pick up the location for later.
Don't read the skill books until late in the game, reason being is by that time it's much harder to level up wich means the skill books will be much more meaningful and worth reading at that point. Also because the enemys level up with you anyway so really there's no need to hurry up with skill levels from the books. Beyond that this really is a great opening.
Exactly what I was going to say. 😊
I mean he levels enchanting first so it's clear he's not running any kind of difficulty as he would not be able to clear the bandit camp first up on Legendary and you need to focus entirely on combat skills so you don't level too fast and get stuck not being able to kill anything.
You cant pick most up without reading them first. So how's that work?
Reading all those skill books so early, you're missing out on extra skill points.
If you go through and kill your first dragon, visit the Greybeards, and take care of the cultists, you can go to Solstheim and do the Ebony Mine quest to get to the first black book. One of the effects of the black book quests is to gain one extra skill point for every skill book you read. The earlier you do this quest, the faster you'll be able to level due to the free extra points earned and there are a lot of skill books scattered around.
and its best to save it for later levels, since its way harder to lvlup from 90 to 91 than 15 to 16
@@GlendonPerkinsgp Didn't say you needed every black book...just the first one that grants double skill points for reading skill boosting books.

Go into the game, learn as you go, explore the areas, get lost in the world, do whatever the hell you want to do. This game is amazing, have fun with it. (Obviously can look up vids if you wish to dive into certain things such as alchemy etc.)
I completely agree with you, and it's really nice to see someone say this, well done.
Thank you.

- At the College Midden you can make Staves to summon Atronachs by combining the Brooms and Greater or larger Soul Gems around the College with a few other ingredients inside the Atronach Forge: Fire Salts and Corundum for Flame Atronachs, Frost Salts and Moonstone for Frost Atronachs, and Void Salts and Orichalcu for Storm Atronach; staves are handy for their extended summon range

Nearly the exact same way I've done it. the only criticism i have is the combat system: i have no idea when i am making contact vs swinging aimlessly.

Good hints. On the way to Winterhold / Azura's shrine I usually make a little stop at Ironbind Barrow for the Fiery Soultrap enchantment. Helps add a little pfupf to your early game weapons.
The slower mining animation actually gives you more ore, it's usually 1 or 2 pieces but more is more
From my experience it dosn't. Its always 3 ore per ore vein every 3 hits regardless of using the animation or attacking.
unless there is some technique to bug out the animation.
@@thenekoromancer7024 as far as i know there are always 2 ore's. one after 3 hits, and one after 9 hits. i never get any ore after 6 hits.
thats why you can exit the animation after 3 hits, restart it, cancel after another 3 hits, and all again. this way, you always get 3 from one vein
That is unless your game is bugged...
basically you get 1 after 3 hits with text,
one after 6 hits but it will not display the text as the old text still has not had time to clear,
and one after 9 hits which will display text again as tge old text has cleared by now.
the ore is still added to your inv tho. its just a display feature with the text.
by exiting the animation you just give time for the text to clear thus allowing it to be displayed again. but the sound will still play and add a ore to your inv even if you dont exit.

Kill the bear not fail any quest
You can get a staff of paralysis from snapleg cave at level one. You can make a storm of staff atronach using void salts, a grand soul gem and a broom at level one at the atronach forge (void salts can be stolen in the potion shop in whiterun, grand soul gem can be bought from any mage merchant). These level the playing field on Legendary as they are super powerful effects that aren't affected by the difficulty modifier.
This comment right here!
Don’t need a grand soul gem, a greater will work.
I like the fact that you made this "vanilla" - even after all these years, I *still* enjoy the vanilla game.
Thanks for the vid, just a few things:
- Why use sparks, when flame does more damage for less magicka? yes, more creatures have fire resistance than sparks, but not so much that early.
- if you side with the imperials, Alvor's ingots will be free to take (and not steal).
- when looting gear, generally prioritise the weight/money ratio.
- at the first bandit camp, sleeping on the mat gives a "rested" bonus!
Bound bow book is the first thing I go for. From then on out, game time.
Hell ya same every play through lol even all these years later
how do you cast it at such low levels in the beginning? Says my character doesn't have enough magicka at low levels.
Good work mate and well done. I’ve restarted Skyrim a lot and a lot of times and I still love watching Skyrim content 😜 😜. Skyrim will never die.
7:10 don't forget there is dwarven metal scraps scattered about. You can convert them into ingots at the smelter.
God Mode. Go explore.
2:11 If someone wasn't aware of Anise's secret, this part would look like you were just told to go out into the woods to murder an old woman then loot her house.
Yeah I was kinda like why are you so casual about murdering a old lady
What's her secret
@@cdnm47ify In the basement is a note stating she wants to create a witches coven and is inviting her sister to join her. If you read the note she will become hostile to you attempt to murder you to keep her secret. If you kill her there is a Chance thugs will attack you later in the game. After defeating them, on their corpse is a letter stating Moira (A Hagraven) hired them to avenge the death of Her sister Anise.
@@gadgetboy4717 yea and on high difficulty those thugs are hell to deal with.

Just got my first PC and just bought Skyrim, this vid came out at the perfect time my dude
:)
Welcome to Skyrim, prepare to spend hundreds of hours!!!
@Stevie Siepler Oh man, you bet I’m ready
I started a few days ago
@@fadewenis2040 Have fun
i started 2 days ago, so far i've enrolled in the magic college, got the horn of something for that something's grave and learned relenting's force's full power, and done a lot of side quests.
Its been a week and im just passed halfway on this vid. First time ever playing skyrim and this shit is nuts
For early game - or if grinding Conjuration on a corpse is not for you - in College of Winterhold in Midden there is Atronach Forge which can produce all three Atronach books AND staves via pre-determined recipes.
List of total items is: 2 of each elemental salt, 3 brooms, 3 ruined books, Dragon's Tongue, Frost Mirriam, Deathbell, Bear and Ice Wolf Pelt and a Mammoth tusk, Corundum, Orichalcum and Moonstone ores or ingots.
Making a new character just for this
Same
Same even tho I got 200 hours in this game
Me coming back to this specific video every time I decide to come back to Skyrim
- Get out of Helgen
- Travel to carriage near Whiterun Stables
- Travel to Markath
- Go Kolskeggr Mine were you will kill forsworn, and mine Gold,
- Melt Gold Ore into Gold Ingots
- Tavel to Left Hand Mine were you will meet Pavo Attius who wil give you a reward for clearing Kolskeggr Mine
- Travel to Halted Stream Camp were you will find Transmute Mineral Ore Spell, and loads of Iron Ore
- Transmute entire iron Ore into Gold Ore, and then melt it into Gold Ingots
- Now find any Forge and turn your entire Gold Ingots collection into Gold Rings.
This wll give you lot's of money, Smithing skill, and as a bonus you can even level up Enchanting skill.
How would u level enchanting from that?
@@jackfurlong6349 steal the soul gems from the college of winter hold and enchant the rings then sell them
Great timing. My save file got messed up because I uninstalled open cities mod. I’m going to start over with ur tips. Wish me luck!
19:07 “This is a very long ruin…” - understatement of the century.
I'm glad you are making this guide most of the glitches in Fallout 3 were patched. Thank you for making these guides, your guides are to-the point but also comprehensive.
First time playing Skyrim in 2024 bro this was the best guide thanks
Damn man I was honestly kinda sad when this ended this brought me from level 1 to 43 before I even retrieved the horn of Jurgen wind caller and I’ve been following it for about 4 days Ty so much bro
Happy to help buddy 👍 if you are hungry for more follow tye dawngaurd then dragonborn completion guides I made its like a continuation
I’m a kid trying to beat the game and this is going to help me.Thank you 😊
Have fun with the game! Playing this game for the first time was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had in my life
For anyone who cares about missing items, there are necklaces that you can only get at certain levels (1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 15-20) in Solitude. The most important one is resist disease 100%. You have to go to the clothing shop in Solitude, and do the reset NPC inventory trick until they show in her list. This is the very first thing I do after the standing stones and leaving Helgen on every new character.
Wow had no idea how in depth this game was. And here I thought I was doing somewhat decent lol. Lot to learn
I am very lucky I found you. I am new to this game with the Anniversary Edition. I found you in my first night, before starting. I see many comments express extreme gratitude in your Best Start despite their overwhelming amounts of game play. So, I'm going to follow fate and use this as my tutorial.
Happy to help buddy! If you feel overwhelmed watching this you could watch my single skill videos for many more tips on a smaller scale
Just grab ingredients from the college & whiterun
Ruined book- whiterun
Mamoth tusk-whiterun
Void Salts- steal college
Deathbell- steal college or just find
Go into the midden atronach forge gg.
Idk how the mace of molag bal is the best 1 handed weapon either. Harkons sword, & Miraaks both do better damage.
Plus their are weapons you can make better from enchantments.
I remember your fallout nv guide video and it helped me so much. And now a Skyrim one as well, you sir are a legend. Thank you
Awesome guide. Lots of really helpful stuff! The Mace of Molag Bal and Spellbreaker combo is totally legit
Must be nice
There's something to be said for getting Werewolf early. It scales _really_ well early on and doesn't level your stats, allowing you to get the most out of it. And if you get married, you can still get a 'rested' bonus. Unless they patched that. Still, it's time not spent crafting, same with the Black Star.
I also strongly prefer to save any skillbooks for the last 10~ levels of a skill. Especially with Mora's boon to double skill points.
2:14 made me laugh so hard 😂😂 "Kill this old woman, take that dress off" That was so unexpected for some reason 😂
A few points I would add:
--Money is usually a concern early, so I make sure I chop a lot of wood when I get to Riverwood.

I was lost on the first 5 minutes of this video, I have no idea where anything is. Worth returning to a few times I think, Thank you for doing it.
Gives even greater appreciation for the base game and its possibilities
I'm doing this right now on my new playthrough. I gotta say, I'm not even halfway through the video, and I already feel insanely more confident about this build than I ever have before. I'm not a newb, but I'm also not a pro, so I appreciate a good head start sometimes. Thanks for making this for us, you're a truly cool human 😎

That is so wrong if you play on legendary difficulty
@@bojanjonoski2759 Tell me about it! Was following this guide (somewhat) and I had to walk around killing wolves and mudcrabs to get leveled enough to kill the first set of bandits he kills after leaving Helgen!
