The best poison I found so far is : Imp stool + Deathbell + Human flesh. wich result in "damage health", "lingering damage health" and "paralysis". Human flesh is not that easy to find but there is plenty at volkiar castle, especially if you chose the vampire way.
Imp stool + skeaver tail + scathecraw (on Solstheim, so must have the Dragonborn DLC) gives you Damage Health, Lingering Damage Health, and Ravage Health. That's three damage effects. No need to paralyze something that is dead, right? Those three ingredients are all easy to get quite a lot of too, at least all a good deal easier than human flesh. Dead werewolves while having the Dawnguard DLC installed seems the best consistent source for human flesh.

William, your production skills are top notch. You clearly put a lot of time, energy, and thought into your videos and it shows. I know, from your previous videos, that it takes a lot of time to produce all your content. I sincerely hope you will do another longer role play video, akin to your Fallout 3, Dragonborn, and Fallout New Vegas play throughs. Those are all amazing.
The Purity perk (available @ alchemy 100) removes all beneficial effects from your poisons and all negative effects from your potions. So no more poisons that also restore health or magicka, etc.... AND no restore health potions that damage magicka/stamina, etc.... I use Alchemy for ALL my characters and take ALL of the perks in the tree except the experimenter perks. I have an Excel spread sheet that includes all of the effects of all ingredients (copied from the wiki) as there are lots of ingredients that you just don't want to eat! I have many basic recipes down but I'm still learning new ones and these videos are the key. Thanks WS
I considered making such a spreadsheet myself, then realized there are actually only a handful of potions/poisons I consistently use and want to keep making, and a fairly manageable list of ingredients for them. Damage Health, LIngering Damage Health, Ravage Health, Slow, Invisibility, Paralysis, Restore Health, Fortify Health, Fortify Magicka Regen, Resist Fire/Frost, Fortify Smithing, Fortify Enchanting cover more than 98% of my alchemy needs I think, and I bet 5-6 of those account for 70% of them.
Worth mentioning is that Imp Stool has both Damage Health AND Lingering Damage Health effects, so with two other ingredients (each with one of those effects) it can make an especially damaging poison. Ouch.
Does the Weakness to Poison effect apply to the DHealth and RHealth effects from that same potion though? I've made several like this, and I keep and use them regardless, since the two damage effects alone are useful. But if the Weakness to Poison would also inflate the damage the other two effects do, then all the better.
@@Trephining Unfortunately having any combination with *Weakness to Poison* doesn't work. You will have to apply *Weakness to Poison* first, in a separate poison for it to take effect. While this sucks, *Weakness to Poison* makes all poisons more effective, so using it is still powerful.

I prefer Canis Root, Imp Stool and Mora Tapinella for paralysis and lingering damage health. Although the narrator avoids any of the DLC ingredients. Also I would avoid Chillwind Caves until level 15 to 20, before then I would visit Halldir's cave near Falkreath or White River Watch for mushrooms.
It's only ever a good combination if you're looking for potions & poisons to sell, there use is best suited to sell as they usually have a very good & high value to weight ratio, unless of cause this is Oblivion then the weight of the potion varies exponentially
this video was on my recommended videos and as a skyrim player that loves to craft and loves alchemy the quality of this video is probably on its own league greaat job
Something interesting to note is that, while undead and dwarven automatons are immune to poison, dragons *are not.* They have no resistance to it, bar paralysis. You can even poison them with slowness, useful for archers trying to keep distance on a grounded dragon.
1. Your narration is bloody GOOD. Very good. 2. Wear a set of armour or clothes (Torso piece, foot piece, hand piece, head piece, ring, necklace) enchanted with "Peerless alchemy" and you can make your poison damage count SKYROCKET.

Good ole M'iaq, always having some wisdom up those robes of his. Anyway, thank you so much for the Skyrim guides Will, it's good to see some Skyrim content on the channel again. And even teaching a veteran like me a few tricks.
I thought it may be worth mentioning, combining giant's toe, creep cluster, and wheat, is the best possible potion/poison, to level your alchemy skill with as it has the highest base value, and similarly to the smithing tree, experience gain is linked to the value of the item produced.
Salmon Roe/Hitscarp make a Crazy powerful waterbreathing potion that sells for at least 2000g Venders dont carry that much without mods but still useful. The Higher your skill, Better quality potions, Sell for more money.
Additionally: A high Speech craft skill will increase the amount of money you can get for selling items, and decrease the the prices when buying items from vendors. You can find enchanted armor and jewelry on enemies and in dungeons, as well and buy speech craft potions from most alchemy shops.

Great guide! However unless you combined damage health and ravage health, ravage health is another option that's the stronger version, be it instant Dmg or Dmg over time. I forget what ingredients have t off the top of my head, but it's rarer to find since only about 5 ingredients have it, and unless you have the perk that shows what you get when you sample it, it's the third or fourth effect so you'll need to use them a lot
Wil, Canis Root x Imp Stool does not create a restore health side effect when crafting a paralysis potion. You might be thinking of Imp Stool x Swamp Pod.
Isn't the restore health Paralysis poison Swamp Fungal Pod and Imp Stool? Canis Root and either the two may produce a pure Paralysis poison. Imp Stool is also abundant in White River Watch east of Whiterun.
will note that if you find yellow mountain flower I'd stock pile them. this is one of the few plants you can not plant in a garden. and it is one of the most valuable ingredients in the entire game if you know how to use it.
Mora Tapinella, Imp Stool, and Canis Root makes for a good Lingering Health Damage and Paralysis poison. Mora, Imp Stool, and Deathbell gives a one-two-punch of enhanced Damage Health, and a regular Lingering Damage Health. Those are my usual favorite poisons to use. Though, I am playing a non-stealth character, using melee. so I tend to favor the paralysis one to remove folk from battle temporarily, and a good River Betty and Deathbell combo for other combatants.
Contrary to what you said, imp stool & canis root are actually a great mix (with the purity perk), just add some crimson nirnroot & your gonna get a nice surprise
I would love to see you do a let's play of Morrowind because there aren't many great one out there unfortunately, and I think it would be awesome to see your play style
Imp stool+canis root+mora tapinella Paralysis & lingering damage health, and the ingredients can be farmed with the Hearthfire dlc. Also, River Betty has damage health, but is more potent, increasing the base poison damage
I loved alchemy, but I hated the fact that poisons are a one use thing, and that you had to go into the menu every single time you wanted to apply it. Future games should have an easier way of using poisons, especially since by the time I abandoned Skyrim I had dozens of self-made poisons that just ate up space in my inventory because it was too inconvenient to apply them. Also, just out of curiosity, that weakness to poison effect, does it apply to poison damage done in the same attack, or to subsequent poisons?
LabTech Press F to add a Poison into your Favourites, access the Favourites menu with Q. Hover your mouse over the poison and press any number 1 to 0 to hotkey the poison. You can now use the poison on the go each slash you make or each shot you take, granted your supply doesn't run out.
Blitz Creeper Don't worry about it, I haven't played it in years, and by the time I stopped, there was nothing in the game that was a serious threat. I only made poisons to up my alchemy skill, and there's only so much you can sell to vendors when upping the gold limit takes forever.
Tip for those with Dragonborn installed: Imp Stool, Red Mountain Flower and Scathecraw, a shrub only found on Solstheim. This makes a KILLER combinatio, as does Red Mountain Flower, Deathbell and Salt Pile.
Paralysis Potions are my game. Canis Root can also be found in abundance in The Rift. And that's weird, I use Imp Stool + Canis Root and Nightshade or Deathbell for a Paralysis Poison all the time. BUT, I noticed I don't have all of the Imp Stool's alchemical properties unlocked or discovered while doing this. Cool. I learned things. This is like school. But a bajillion times better.
Combining Imp Stool and Canis Root makes a good paralysis poison. Even better if you add deathbell. Imp stool and Swamp Fungal Pod will have undeired restore health effect.
River betty, bleeding crown, deathbell: slow and weak while double damage. Mix once alchemy is to full upgrade. Then apply to Nightingale Bow with dragonbone arrows. Use in stealth mode against sleeping dragons without the need for joining the blades and killing Paarthunax, or ending your adventure prematurely. Another thing: it's swamp pods and imp stool, not canis root and imp stool that restores while cripples.
So if you mix Imp stool with moratapanella and human flesh you get a potion that causes paralysis, deals instant damage, and deals damage overtime which in all honestly is amazing
For people who don't like using the "Wait" mechanics or just want the time conversion. In-game day=72 minutes real time. 2 ingame days=144 minutes real time (a little under 2 and half hours). 10 in-game days=12 hours real time. 30 in-game days=36 hours real time. Fast traveling, sleeping, using carriges/boats/silt striders, and obviouwly waiting all advance these timers so long as you do not accidentally load the effected cells (enter the area). For merchants, this means the area the "mercant chest" is in, and not the area that the actual npc is, so talking to Belethor on the streets of Whiterun won't reset his timer, but entering his shop will even if he is not there.

Though, I am playing a non-stealth character, using melee. so I tend to favor the paralysis one to remove folk from battle temporarily, and a good River Betty and Deathbell combo for other combatants.
Hi William,as always another great guide.....voice acting....your the man.
Great video, amazing work with the editing!
Contrary to what you said, imp stool & canis root are actually a great mix (with the purity perk), just add some crimson nirnroot & your gonna get a nice surprise
Great information, thank you for sharing.
Can't wait for your guides on elder scrolls 6 along with the freaking game. hope your still in the buissness by then! cheers!
Paralysis one of the best potions in the game and you can't argue me otherwise.
Thanks, Will!!! Your guides are very helpful and keep it up!!!
You'd think something with the word death in it would make the best damage health poison but no it's a fish
Yeah, but it's a Betty. Makes sense. Betty is the most poisonous bitch I know.
It's actually Crimson Nirnroot that deals the most poison damage. It has x3 magnitude multiplier compared to the x2.5 for River Betty.
I would love to see you do a let's play of Morrowind because there aren't many great one out there unfortunately, and I think it would be awesome to see your play style
Imp stool+canis root+mora tapinella
Paralysis & lingering damage health, and the ingredients can be farmed with the Hearthfire dlc.
Try putting your poisons in your Favorites menu. you can with Potions so i wouldnt see why you cant with Poisons
LabTech Press F to add a Poison into your Favourites, access the Favourites menu with Q. Hover your mouse over the poison and press any number 1 to 0 to hotkey the poison. You can now use the poison on the go each slash you make or each shot you take, granted your supply doesn't run out.
Blitz Creeper I play console, not PC.
LabTech I see, my bad. :(
Blitz Creeper Don't worry about it, I haven't played it in years, and by the time I stopped, there was nothing in the game that was a serious threat. I only made poisons to up my alchemy skill, and there's only so much you can sell to vendors when upping the gold limit takes forever.
Great Alchemy Guide Will...I enjoyed it and it was very informative
Fantastic guide and video Mr Strife, hitting that big red sub' button riiight now. Keep up the good work!
Tip for those with Dragonborn installed: Imp Stool, Red Mountain Flower and Scathecraw, a shrub only found on Solstheim. This makes a KILLER combinatio, as does Red Mountain Flower, Deathbell and Salt Pile.
It would have been extra helpful if you mentiond what those combinations produced for the player.
I still use these guides for my switch edition of my game
Paralysis Potions are my game.
Canis Root can also be found in abundance in The Rift.
And that's weird, I use Imp Stool + Canis Root and Nightshade or Deathbell for a Paralysis Poison all the time. BUT, I noticed I don't have all of the Imp Stool's alchemical properties unlocked or discovered while doing this.
Cool. I learned things. This is like school. But a bajillion times better.
Y'know, I just started playing Skyrim again. This is pretty cool.
Combining Imp Stool and Canis Root makes a good paralysis poison. Even better if you add deathbell. Imp stool and Swamp Fungal Pod will have undeired restore health effect.
Love all of those M'iaq quotes!
Also Paralysis is misspelled "paralsys"
drakelord56 Isn't he spelt Ma'iq, too? :3
yeah thats what I thought but i couldn't figure out if that the game spells it like that. But know just a mistake a guess.
drakelord56 I thought so and then doubted myself...
I didn't even realize, that's Par-al-sys, what!?
River betty, bleeding crown, deathbell: slow and weak while double damage. Mix once alchemy is to full upgrade. Then apply to Nightingale Bow with dragonbone arrows. Use in stealth mode against sleeping dragons without the need for joining the blades and killing Paarthunax, or ending your adventure prematurely. Another thing: it's swamp pods and imp stool, not canis root and imp stool that restores while cripples.
Don’t even play this game anymore and I watch it for the flawless production lol
Another additional poison I recently found:
Imp Stool, Mora Tapinella, and Canis Root.
Poison of paralysis and lingering poison
Du hast das Thema super verständlich gemacht.
Labs are also found in nearly every dungeon, many caves, barrows, ruin, fort, temple, mine -
Why not say, "All over Skyrim"?
such superbly produced vids! its just awsom!
Thank you for your videos, very clear easy to follow, I wish more where like this
Azidahl's waterwalking boots are great for gathering dartwings if you'd prefer to stay dry :)
