An In-Depth Guide To All Things Alchemy. An often underutilised craft in Skyrim, in this series I'll be doing an in-depth guide to alchemy and go from basics to advanced and maybe show you a different way to play the game.

There is only one trick to alchemy: *obsessively gather and buy every ingredient you see*. Everything else is alchemy calculators, inventory management, and quicksave-hit the vendor NPC-quickload when the NPCs run out of money.
The only real problem with alchemy is that, even after it’s at double legendary and I have more ingredients than 10 dragonborn could possibly use, *I cannot stop picking up every ingredient I see*.

I could never get into alchemy for multiple of reasons of me not being interested, not really memorizing it, and something I didn't wanted to watch when watching several let's play of skyrim. However since I saw so many people praising alchemy and something you should get into, I took note, so I decided to go and find a video of a alchemy guide so I can get myself interested. And it did!

I thought I'd do a really detailed guide on something most players barely touch upon as legitimate game-play, plus I was trying out some different editing styles (some worked, some didn't), I'm glad you found the videos useful, it may be worth checking out the Rare Curios videos as they're nuts ... The first one turned from a review into more of a guide and the second showcases some insane potions 😃

I was looking forward for a new video of yours. Indeed alchemy in Skyrim is something very vast.
I may add some notes though:
*There is some potions that you can use to level up your alchemy skills and character level quickly, I'm used to call these as "profit potions", and are they:
1 - Garlic + Nordic Barnacle + Salmon Roe (which makes an very expensive waterbreathing potion).
2 - Dragon's Tongue + Fly Amanita + Mora Tapinella (which makes an multiple bonifications and also very expensive potion).
3 - Blue Butterfly Wings + Blue Mountain Flower + Giant's Toe (which makes an damage magicka regen potion).
*There is also some excellent beginners potions, are they:
1 - Blue Mountain Flower + Wheat (which makes an restore/increase health potion).
2 - Torchbug Thorax + Honeycomb + Histcarp or Chaurus Eggs (which makes an restore/increase stamina potion).
3 - Red Mountain Flower + Tundra Cotton (which makes an increase magicka potion).
*Ohh, and last but not least, there is an incredible poison recipe:
1 - Canis Root + Imp Stool + Scathecraw (which makes an paralysis/lingering damage poison).
    Sounds spicy huh?

Those who know even a little bit of video editing can most likely appreciate all the work you've put into making this. 11:18 That requires cutting out the entire map in Photoshop or what not and making those landmarks blue yourself. Adding extra layers to add the Blue Butterfly Wing and Snowberry on them.
And I haven't even started on the amount of research that went into this.

The amount of work that went into this was huge tbh, however this was my first attempt at this kind of video and I borrowed ideas from better creators than me... It was kind of a practice run when I had around 300-400 (I think) subs and virtually no views and no editing experience... There's a lot I'd change about this to make it more my style, that being said it's the sort of guide I like to watch and it helped me to make better videos over all (I hope)

For a dedicated Alchemist it's worth purchasing any and all of the Rare Curio ingredients. They seem to have higher magnitudes for one or more of their effects, including things like 2x potency. As an example, Corkbulb Root is quite common, probably due to the arrow and bolt crafting, and has a great Paralysis duration plus nice buffs to Fortify Marksman.
Ranger's Poison: River Betty + Deathbell gives high poison damage and a slow effect, if you have Concentrated Poison then add an item with Weakness to Poison like Bleeding Crown
Mage Duel Brew: Glowing Mushroom and Glow Dust gives Fortify Destruction and Resist Shock, add Wheat for Fortify Health
Withering Poison: Imp Stool and Human flesh gives poison damage and Paralysis, add either Slaughterfish part for Lingering Damage Health

    Some good recipes:
Canis Root+Hanging Moss+(Elves Ear or Juniper Berries) -- Fortify One-Handed & Fortify Marksman. Fortify Marksman is bugged and contributes to all weapon damage, meaning this potion will boost your One-Handed damage twice.
Chokeberry+Deathbell+Scathecraw -- A five-effect poison, with several of the effects having a higher-than-average magnitude. Effects are: Damage Health, Ravage Health, Damage Health Over Time, Damage Stamina, and Weakness to Poison. Chokeberry is part of the Rare Curios Creation Club feature added on 11-11-21. Babette will always stock 1-4, making the ingredient _very_ easy to acquire.
Canis Root+Imp Stool+Nirnroot -- Damage Health, Damage Stamina, and Paralysis.
River Betty+Deathbell+(Bleeding Crown or Giant Lichen) -- Damage Health, Slow, and Weakness to Poison.

This is fantastic - saving this in favourites. I'm doing my first proper poisoner build (playing a squishy Imperial thief) and when I started I had no idea it would be as effective and profitable as it's been in conjunction with being in the TG, and that's with being stingy with my ingredients until I get the purity perk. With a garden and a greenhouse, I'm so flush with paralysis potions alone I was able to unload for 5000 gold in a day and turn that around into expensive sneak training from Delvin. Been a bit of a grind to get the invisibility ingredients aside from chaurus eggs, but nothing a bit of late-night thieving at the local alchemist and a quick trip to Raven Rock can't fix.

@@TiddlyOggy Of course I did. I feel that a pure alchemy build is underrated. I will try that someday. Just pure awesomeness through only craft perks : smithing, enchanting and alchemy as the cherry on the cake, and one dagger and crossbow. Should be fun.

If you've already played through with different build types, playing as an alchemist based character adds a whole new dimension to the game, I love it personally and the Rare Curios mod takes it to a whole other level imo

HELP! Are there "Active Effects" that enhance Alchemy? Somehow I created a Smithing Potion +25% stronger than I can replicate. I wear all the gear as Enchanted as I can, and I cannot figure out how I did it?! I always sleep, and make sure I am not over encumbered. What are the Major Alchemy enchanted items in the game? Do they go past +25%?

The regular items go up to 25% frost, fire, etc up to 70. Light/heavy armor items up to 25 or 22 I think. Sneak, stamina etc, up to 40%

If you use potions and do the loop, you can make stronger, but in game enchanted items have a cap depending on what field it is.

No offense, your video is much more comprehensive. The beginning is nearly word for word...

@@user-ox6vc2zc3h Ha ha, I had no views or clues how to do these videos, so I tried to learn from creators that I like, this one was a bit close to the knuckle for sure, hence the video description... To be fair I wasn't expecting anyone to watch it, also the actual video content was more my style... But hey, everyone's a learner at some stage and I've moved on to my own style (though I still don't get many subs or views)
