Fun fact: Dates are used to break the fast in Islamic, Jewish and Christian beliefs.
Lol, I have three five pound bags of Palouse chickpeas sitting on the counter right now. When I bought them a while back, they were out of the 25 pound bags. So now I have chickpea envy! 😂
@@Dixieburk1 Psssshhhh 5 pounds! 😂😂
Krocks In The Kitchen I know, so lame, right, lol. I do have a 25 pound bag of pinto beans, tho! 😂
Using cotton cloth/t-shirt instead of towel after shower helps reduce frizz.
Do more of this! I absolutely love that you are a natural beauty, Jessica. You rock it!
No need to justify your magic hat. I'm impressed with anyone still showering everyday.
hahaha wellllll maybe not EVERY day LOL 😬
bathing optional at my house....
OMG the calender in the background .. "Does time matter anymore"😂😂
😂
Great video! Jessica glad you found a med for your anxiety. I finally did 15 years ago and it was life changing. No shame. It’s an illness not a weakness❣️
Darling Jessica,
1st) Yes, those bags have a 'secret' way of opening 😊 - but no worries - it's just good to know if you plan on re-using the bag.
2) Not everything is a better deal from Amazon. And if you (or your viewers) don't have enough room for *25 lbs* of chickpeas, don't worry...
Natural Grocers has *ORGANIC* garbanzo beans for $3.89/2lbs - that's less than any chickpeas on Amazon.
If you don't have a Natural Grocers near you, I'm sure there are other local stores that carry them.
Their organic "bulk" herbs and spices are also extremely well priced, and you can find almost anything you can think of there.
I put "bulk" in quotations because they charge bulk prices for little bags of these things - no reaching into a bin that everyone else has reached in or breathed into. Just great deals!
[I'm not an affiliate, nor am I getting paid by anyone 😜 - I'm just a very frugal shopper. I'm an old woman on a very strict budget.]
Thanks for everything you two do for us!! ❤
It’s so helpful to see what you’re eating and I love that you share the products you buy to eat as it can make life more tasty and simple for sure.
I really loved this video, the overall style of it! Loved that it showed a lot of your personality and daily stuff as well as WFPB lifestyle. 😊💜
Thanks Tammy!!
Tammy Masson I 100% felt the same ! It’s my fav video so far. They We’re so relaxed and fun
@@stephsinger5163 absolutely agree!
Great video! Hope you guys will make lots more of these "What We Eat (& Do) in a Day"-videos!
Thanks! They are fun, but a lot of work! haha!
Hi - I really enjoy your videos. So much of what you both shared I can so relate to. Struggling a bit with food but last week and this week have been better. I’m glad for the nice weather to be able to walk outside. You both really inspire me.💕
I loved this so much! Please do more what I eat in a day videos and what ya do I can't get enough of you guys 🥰
Thank you!
Such a fun video! Thank you!!
This is one of the best videos you have made. Love the way you bounce off each other your honesty in what you do and the food you create. It was full of fun and lightened my day along with many others I'm sure. All set off by the inclusion of your adorable fur babies. Thanks for the meal prep. Stay safe.
Thank you so much Marion!!
This video was soooo fun to watch! You guys are by far my favorite WFPB channel on RUclips and I look forward to every video. Thank you for putting out such great content and for just being real! I can't wait for the next one 😁
Oh thank you so much RoRo Ann!! That means a lot! ❤️
This is my new favorite video!
The part about Jessica being stubborn with the anxiety meds is so relatable to me. I was on meds on and off since 16. A couple years ago I had a bad breakdown and tried to take the meds again and the first couple days I had a weird reaction to them. I felt like I was high and had horrible anxiety, hot flashes, etc for a couple days. I threw the rest in the trash. I probably should be on something but I just can’t stand the side effects and it worsens my anxiety to have that adjustment period in the beginning when they mess with your mind and make you feel off. I would love to hear your story. From one Jessica to another!
Love your videos!!
Aww you two are amazing. Love your relationship & your positive energy. This video make me smile. Thank you & sending love xxx
For your chick peas or other beans in the instapot, add a chopped onion, some garlic powder and a couple bay leaves.. best beans ever!,
This was a fun video to watch! Please do more! :)
Really love you two, learning a lot. Thank you
Thank you for this vid! I love it!
Awesome video! I am currently on my down diet journey and use RUclips as my source of knowledge for this journey! Appreciate the value you guys have given
Thanks Ben!
I loved the casual feel of this video and feel like we can all relate right now to just going with the flow and getting weird. Big bag of chickpeas sounds like a great idea. This quarantine has taught me that I need more glass storage containers because I'm cooking more and running out of vessels for my leftovers. Also your video reminded me of the importance of having some semblance of a routine throughout the day, like taking your vitamins at the same time each day. Tiny routine moments help balance out the flowy energy of all the free time.
Love these long episodes! :)
You both have such nice easy going demeanors!
OMG the music and the double-speed video. Perfect. Beautiful food! Jessica...I love you in black!
Oh my! Lunch looks wonderful! Great job!
The salad looked amazing! Also your dogs are so cute!!!
Thanks!
Love this fun video. I believe you are getting better and better at presenting them. Awesome 🥝🥝🥝
Thank you!! ❤️❤️
Yes your kitchen is always clean and SHINY!
Great video :-D I loved watching it
I love this vid!!!!
😳I need a bag like that of the 15 bean soup! Thanks for another awesome video! I love it! Also, I finally ordered the griddler off of your Amazon page. I'm looking forward to using it! Keep up the great work! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!
This is the funnest video! Your hair is beautiful and the creole music and dish are Awesome! Thanks for the smiles.😊🧡💜 WAIT on the garbanzo Beans! I recommend you soak them overnight, being sure to keep changing the water. This will help with less gasiness. Something I'm sure you'll appreciate!
Glad to see you guys are making the most of staying at home! I bet the pups will be super spoiled by all the extra time with you. Now I’m gonna have to try those buffalo chickpeas...look so yummy! 😋
Jessica looks so happy and glow-y! Love it!
This encouraged me to continue my vegan quarantine plan. Thanks so much! I've been eating oyster mushroom blue masa tortilla tacos! definitely recommend!!
You guys are so awesome!!! Thank you for sharing so much of your lives with us!! I love watching your videos.....I have a question about your salads. How many cups of salad would you say make up one meal?
Great video guys! We are using quarantine time to do a potato mini at the moment....day six and feeling fantastic.
Hi guys! Thanks as always!
Thanks for watching!
What a great concept! Not only what you ate in a day, but what you did in a day-Loved it. I must say you guys are much more productive in these pandemic days than I am. Brian-yes, please recreate the Wanna Date. I found it on Amazon but can't afford it, lol.
Awesome thank you so much I really found it interesting and enjoyed your video. I really like you both so much. I look up to you for ideas and recipes. I've cooked a few of them. Going to try the chickpeas and actually the tofu rice for lunch looked yummy.
Thanks!!
Jessica. I ordered a 25 lb bag of whole wheat rice because I was getting ticked I couldn’t find any in the stores!! 🤣🤣. We have plenty now. Love this video and love y’all so much. Thanks for the smile today!! 😊❤️
In love with your salads. Glad to see more and more people are working their hair au naturel.
OMGosh I loved everything about this video! We LOVE the Caribbean, Creole, Mediterranean, North African, Smoky Latin Mesa de Vida sauses which are all vegan.
We tried the Smoky Latin one too! It was delicious! I just wish they weren't so pricey!
Loved the Dixieland jazz during your lunch! Very appropriate.
love the video! I use ground flax for my omegas, in smoothies, sprinkled on or mixed into everything
the salad looks soooo good. You guys are like the cutest couple.
Thanks for the zucchini tip! I love those bowls...
I like the magic hat and I love the natural waves
This was so fun to watch! I ordered the 5 lb version bag of the chickpeas to try them in the IP. Last time I made dried beans in there, though, they kind of exploded were not nice looking. I bought them because of those dang delicious Buffalo Chickpeas!!! :) I'm not sure there will be a day in the near future where I don't have those on hand. I'm making my way through the Healthspan Solution cookbook and have loved every recipe so far. Thanks for introducing that to us. Interested to see the shake, Jessica!
Okay, totally lusting over that bag of chick peas! I really enjoyed seeing your personalities & your day during this time. Appreciate the zucchini tip. Fav video so far!
Thanks, guys, for this video. Nice way to start my morning (after yoga and a bit of early morning gardening).
I used to get my eco veggies and fruits from a local source: they do not deliver. Into seventh week of lock down and have to make do with what I can get at the local supermarket.
the bufalo chickpeas in the salad look like lovely crutons. Must try
Great work!
Thank you for watching!
Always enjoy watching you guys! Sweetest blessings from NYC! We are in an extreme quarantine over here. Like you, we order online either from Costco or whole Foods, there's no point in going out now! Jessica, your hair looks great! Brain, I probably read what you write about COVID-19. Drink a lot of ginger tea to keep the blood from clotting! LOL, There's an excellent recipe with turmeric ginger and bay leaf, a bit of cinnamon and cloves that will make you feel GREATTT!
“Just a tince” grumpy! ☺️ love you Jessica x
You two are too adorable!!!!!
Thanks for the videos. Im a Canadian down in Panama. its so hard to get all the good vegan stuff right now as we are limited travel. Cant wait to make some of these dishes? that salad is the bomb! Thanks kool couple!
You both are too cute!! Thanks for sharing with us!! Stay safe ♥️ 🙏
Thank you :)
I have definitely noticed for myself that depending on how busy I am at work (from home during COVID-19) guides how frequently I’m looking for food in the kitchen. I was in such a good routine when I had to pack my meals to take to the office.
For some reason I've been doing so much better at home all day!!
I should have waited bc now I’m hungry that looks so good!
haha yeah not a great nighttime video I guess...
BEST💜video💜ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, Sparkly Susan! 😄
Love this video. It was so fun seeing more of your life. Love you guys!
Thank you! It was fun to film :)
Such an adorable dog!
I have avoided the veggies for the last week weeks (last grocery run) because it was so much washing last time. Just did our next two week shop and it's full of veggies and fruit. Going to try to get back on track this week ❤ Thank you for your videos!
I enjoyed your video. I have been eating my usual breakfast of oat and buckwheat groats with mixed frozen berries. Lunch is a soup, then a green salad, then an entree (today I ate a frozen meal from Pritikin). I will cook brown rice and curry for dinner. I eat a piece of fruit (or even two) for a snack in the mid afternoon.
Haha I love what you guys wrote on your calendar.
I soak 4 cups dry garbanzo beans in water overnight. Drain, put in my 6 qt Instant Pot, cover with water 1 inch above the beans. Cook 12 minutes, natural release. I think the presoaked beans make smoother hummus.
Nice to spend the afternoon with you guys, Friday here in Australia, love ya work, and I’m going to give your hat trick a go
Yeah magic hat!! Lol
I tried the hat trick as my hair is always so affected by humidity, it worked really well I think my hair looks better tonight then it has for awhile now. Thanks for the tip!
I am a mostly WFPB diet practitioner; I love how you are not woo-woo about taking basic supplements, without going into the deep end of taking ungodly tons of supplements each day lol 😂 Personally i take a daily men's multivitamin; sometimes an extra B complex vitamin, and every now and then a D, or magnesium supplement.
I’m getting back on track, partially thanks to you guys! Beginning of quarantine we went a little off track just eating whatever. Especially since it wasn’t easy to shop and buy fresh veggies every few days like we used to. I think I’ve got a weekly veggie shopping trip down. Then wash and prep everything as soon as I get home so it’s all ready to go. And Jessica I am totally going to try the magic hat trick! My hair is wavy and goes frizzy if I don’t do anything to it. Straightening it every day is too high maintenance for me lol.
Scout is super cute. She reminds me of Gidget from the Secret Life of Pets movies.
This is a lovely video. I really enjoyed it. I've got chickpeas soaking so I'm think I'm going to try the buffalo chickpeas later! 😊
Yessss buffalo chickpeas!
Wow! I ordered the same 25 pound bag of garbanzo beans! It’s so useful.
We buy black beans, pinto beans, brown and white rice, and now oats in 25 lb bags. We have a food storage under our stairs. We save lots of money this way
Those chickpeas looked amazing! And love my instapot as well :)
Hi guys!! My son and I take the Dr Furhman multis and like them a lot. I used to take a separate b12, but the Dr F multis contain enough for my daily dosage so it’s nice just taking one thing. Thanks for sharing your day with us :)
Thank you for these videos! I wanted to say that if you'd like to try another way to fight frizz on wavy/curly hair, you can dry your hair with something that's not a terrycloth towel. I know people who follow the curly girl method use t-shirts a lot to dry their hair. It's so simple, but it's kind of amazing how much it reduces the frizz. I have very fine curly hair, so it's both frizzy AND has no volume. 🤨 Somehow... lol. But use your hat if you love it, of course. Just sharing new info. Anyway, thanks again for the videos!
I always smash my lettuce! I learned that trick when I was 18 working in the produce department prepping veggies for the salad bar! Great tip! I need to find a giant bag of chick peas! I really enjoyed the day in the life video. Thanks for sharing your day!
Great video. Please, do more on the Insta-Pot recipes when possible.
Hope yall are staying safe!
We certainly are. The bigger question is if we are staying sane. 🤪
The hat trick works!!! Thanks. I used it cause I washed my hair late in the night and didn’t want to make noise with the hair dryer. The hat kept my head warm. My hair dried and looked good. Thanks
Bam! 💥 😄
I wear hats to make my hair calm down too. I also have no idea what I am doing with my hair too. And I was so delighted when Brian smooshed the sandwich.
I have eaten plant based for 3 years now, but I love the "new" items you show! Sometimes I would love convenience over making everything myself! I do make my ranch dressing out of silken tofu. I do notice you have beautiful produce and mentioned you get delivery. I live in Maine and we have a hard time getting very good fresh produce!! Is your delivery local or online for different states?? I love your videos!! Thank you for keeping it real!!
Pita pockets toasted and stuffed with salad, hummus and cucumber for lunch. The idea with the iceberg lettuce is useful.
The evening meal has tended to be baked potatoes, sweet potatoes or pasta - in simple sauces.
I love this video. 😍 And please, pleaseeee post the video about making the chocolate nice cream smoothie now! 🤤
Give me a few hours. 😁
@@KrocksInTheKitchen Oh, thanks! I know what I'll be having this weekend. 😄 *waiting impatiently for the video* 😉😂
You're really natural 💚
You have compelled me to make the chickpeas immediately! Must make chickpeas.
I started taking Ashwagandha for anxiety and stress and it's been really helpful and all natural! 💚
Haha, I love your big salad bowl Jessica cuz I do the exact same thing with the same type of big stainless steel bowl!
Yeah!! Giant bowls for the win!
I used to have a giant plastic bowl with a lid. Great for salads because I could put the lid on and shake it all up instead of hand tossing. Coated everything perfectly while using less dressing. ...Broke the lid though.
Thank you Jessica for showing your magic hat trick. I'm definitely going to try that (even though I live in Florida)! My hair is always frizzy unless I use product in it which I'd rather not do. Thanks again! 😁
I loled when he smacked the lettuce on the counter - was not expecting that 😂
I have some kind of potatoes and steamed veggies or salad for my first meal. Beans and greens. Like every day for dinner. And fresh fruit.
I recently found your channel and I think it's great. A book I got when I bought my InstantPot I also bought a book Vegan Under Pressure, by Jill Nussinov.
Really recommend that book. Great content and keep up the good work.
This to me by far was the BEST VIDEO!!! Love being with you guys during your day. You both look FINE AS HECK !!! ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much for sharing ! Btw Brian I live the word ginormous !!!0
Hello I Really Loved this Video well I Love all your Videos lol💖💖💖💖💖you two are so Lovely💖💖💖💖
Hey Jessica, I had iron absorption issues a while back, and something i found was sometimes I am consuming things within the absorption period that fight for the same receptors (2 hours before/after iron taking), Legumes, tannins (coffee, tea) - other things that you dont consume - like eggs and dairy, and hmm... maybe one more thing. I will remember cuz i am an AWESOME REMEMBERER!!
Just found your channel. I am just starting a weight loss journeyand find y'all inspiring! I live in central Texas, but I am from just across the river from y'all in Edwardsville!
Awesome! I was raised in Collinsville. My first job was at Showplace 12 in Edwardsville. 😀
-Brian
Loved this video! Like to see more like these!
They are hard work to get together but they are really fun! We will do more in the future. 😀
I’m sure they are hard work.... but I appreciate it!
