He wasn't just beautiful to look at. He was a beautiful human being who extended great kindness to many through his charitable donations. He used to go out into the streets of London giving money to homeless people. There were countless acts of kindness to individuals too but he never told anyone. As well as having a great voice he was one of the greatest songwriters of his generation and arguably of all time. What a beautiful soul he had. Will always be missed. RIP George.
I loved both of your reactions. I'm 71 and still listen to George MIchael daily. I was brought up on doo-wop and Motown. My son introduced me to Tupac and Marley. My daughter got me hooked on George Michael and Wham. She played their tracks 24/7, drove me nuts. I started listening to George's voice and really liked it. What really got me hooked on him was his duet with Aretha "knew your were waiting for me". It was right before his "faith" album came out. It won the grammy for best duet, I think 1987, and took Aretha's career back to the top. George wrote "CW" at 17. What I liked about him was the fact that there are many great artists out there, but they are always chasing that great song, that great musical arrangement, that great producer. Not George Michael, he did it all, wrote, sang, musical instruments, producing and he did it "His" way. HIs duets were tremendous, Aretha, Stevie, Smokey, Diana, Elton, Queen, Garth, Whitney, Beyonce, Ray Charles Pavarotti, etc. etc. etc. My fav will always be "As" with Mary J. Blige. He was a tortured soul though. The press hounded him constantly and he couldn't handle it. He went into seclusion back home in England. I just hope he knows he truly was loved. After he passed, it was announced that he gave away millions anonymously. Another beautiful singer/songwriter gone too soon.
Hi Karen, nice to see you! It's so nice to see someone else knows of George's history, & isn't afraid to share it. Lovely! KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING! For George & all who loves him!
there are so many masterpieces by George not just careless whisper. Listen to his entire older-album - a timeless masterpiece for all time. Songs like "jesus to a child", "spinning the wheel", "you have been loved" or songs from the Listen without prejudice album: cowboys and angels, praying for time. Songs like "a different corner", "kissing a fool". His whole artistic repertoire is so enormous and wonderful. George was one of the biggest superstars of the 80s and 90s.
@@bk4062 hi girlfriend, yes, i hope so and wish this will not be another "careless whisper" or "somebody to love" reaction. There are so many wonderful masterpieces by our George. His performance at the concert of hope 1993 with the brilliant cover-version of Stevie's "love is in need of love today", his live verson of "a different corner" from 1999 or his performance at the MTV Awards in Berlin 1994 with his "jesus to a child". :-)
George Michael became MIchael Jackson’s biggest rival at the tail end of the 80s - but straight after his mega Faith album he decided he didn’t want that level of mega stardom and decided to stop promoting, touring and giving interviews (or appearing in videos). He sued his record label who wanted to continue pushing him as a heterosexual sex symbol. Anyway, all this killed his career in the USA and North America but in Europe, Asia and Rest of the world he retained his position as a rival to MJ, Madonna, Prince. Outside of the USA he was considered bigger than Whitney and Janet. He sold over 100+ million records by releasing only 5 studio albums (the guy only released albums once every 5/6 years). He is ranked as one of the biggest selling artists of all time. Only 5 studio albums in a career spanning over 30 years (started at the same time as Madonna) and no promotion - that shows you how huge he was. Had he released as many albums as Madonna and Whitney - not sued his record label and continued promoting and touring - his sales would have passed 200 million easily. Check out his duets with Whitney, Aretha Franklin and Mary J Blige. Also his solo songs One More Try (first song by a white artist to top billboards black charts - as it was known then), Father Figure, Kissing a Fool and later works, Freedom 90 and Fastlove.
George was half Greek, and yes he have one of the most beautiful voice i ever hurt, try listen to KILLER/ PAPPA WAS A ROLLINGSTONE, LIVE, i saw him a view times in concert, AMAZING
This is one biggest break up songs of 1985. This was the song played at the prom.(8th grade and High-school) That and bunch of other songs of that year.
Omgggg this song brings the biggest smile to my face cos of the memories I have from when I first heard it🥰 and exactly what I was doing…when I first heard it😂😂lol
I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it but after George’s death on Christmas Day in 2016 we began to hear about all of the charities he supported anonymously. He help individuals too and wanted no publicity for doing so. He was a sweet sensitive soul that never got over the loss of his first love Anselmo who died of an HIV complication and the loss of his mum Lesley years later. His little sister Melanie was his hairdresser and traveled with him around the would. She passed away 3 years to the day after George on Christmas Day 2019. Christmas Day also happened to be his mum’s birthday. George never received the recognition he should have received. He wrote, produced, arranged and played almost all the instruments on his songs. Oh yea, he sang a little as well. I like to think of him in heaven with his love Anselmo, his mum Lesley, his little sis Melanie and his idol Freddie Mercury. RIP all. Miss you George.
I LOVE your reaction videos guys! You're both adorable. 🙂 And I loved Asia's reaction to George cuz lord knows that's how we all felt seeing him for the first time. 😍 Please please do "One More Try" and "Faith" from him next. Those are two of his biggest hits and they are amazing songs. 🙏
Tomaytoes Tomartoes. Semantics. The whole genre thing is dead nowadays. So many cross-overs and fusions. I listen to every single type of music going. I find pushing things into little pigeon holes is a waste of time. I'd rather just listen to the music.
Thank you for playing this sad but beautiful romantic love song. He and Ricky Martin, Elton John and of course Rod Stewart could really beller. Their voices and songs were indeed extraordinary. God bless each and every one of them including of course Johnny Mathis, Prince and Little Richard. Adios Amigos. Adios.
Hahaha!! George was DEFINITELY "cute"!! Lol!! If you know his song "Faith" then you gotta do the song that leads into the "Faith" music video.... it's "I Want Your Sex". It was written and recorded during the height of the AIDS/HIV epidemic in the late 80's ('87 I believe)..... it has a super FUN dance beat and a GREAT message!! I think you'll really like it! P.S.... Asia, George looks even better (if that's possible! lol!) in that video!! ;) ;) GREAT reaction guys!!
George Michael is FINE. I am a bw in her mid 60's I been listening to his music since WHAM. Check out George & Stevie Wonder, Living for the CITY and all of the many DUETS like, Aretha, Whitney, Mary J, Mariah Carey, Ray Charles, etc. I still listen to him music, check out his catalog. I Iove this man still.💯💯
I was in his concert in Italy (i was around 16) and Enrique Iglesias (which was a sex symbol at the time) was playing before him, and everyone at that point knew George was gay but even so all the ladies in the crowd started chanting "We want George!". This is just to sum up if there's a god it's unfair he's giving both good looks and a good voice :P
I knew the "bad girl" in this video and she was nothing like the part she played, she was fashion model that just happened to have the "look" they wanted, she was shy, unassuming, and down to earth. I was in Miami with her when she finished that grueling 3 day video shoot, she was so glad and happy it was finally over and she could go back home. She was such beautiful person who sadly died in 2012 of cancer, rest in piece sweet Madeline.
Grueling? Lounging on a yacht, making out with a pop star? Probably with champagne and piles of cocaine (George Michael after all). Two from this video died young? How sad. Sounds cursed.
Why are we all the same? 🤣 I remember being a kid & his albums being at ALL of my Auntie's houses. Apparently black women in the 80s/90s were big George Michael fans. -- Y'all should watch the MV for his Duet with Whitney Houston "If I Told You That". It's a slept on BOP!
Many had a crush on him just like they did with Ricky Martin and many many more, so don’t let anyone take those beautiful memories away. They are yours to keep. RIP George
Yeah this song in the 80s was One Of The Greatest Baby Making Songs Ever Period 😀😃🙂🙃😊😇😀😃 Too Much Love Making Back Then 😀😃🙂🙃😊😇😀 And this song was a huge part of it 😀😃🙂🙃😊😇
George was such an amazing live singer. I will always love his song 'Cowboys and Angels'. He was just supremely talented and a very very humble lovely guy. RIP George.
This song IS the mid 80s, beautifully captured here in both the song and video. This was peak existence for many. An absolutely fabulous written and performed song.
Yes Asia,. We ladies all thought he was too cute and could sing! Play the live version of George Michael and Stevie Wonder singing 'Loves in Need of love today!
I love this song everytime I hear it it makes me smile mostly because my grandmother love watching BET and when this song came out she was watching it and I walked in the room and said what you doing lady and she said watching this pretty boy sing she said I love this song I said okay she said I love it cuz it's called guilty feet I said No grandmother it's called Careless Whisper 😂😂😂😂
This GORGEOUS eyes were light brown. I loved his SWAGGER, his style of dress, he had a heart of gold. Next to Elton John, George Michael spent a lot money for his charity work. His voice is so unique. I miss him terribly.💯💯
iam so glad you guys listen to George Michael so many great songs he's a icon amazing but this song has always been one my favorite songs ever I love the saxophone and. the lyrics his voice this song make you want dance and make love classic song from 80s I was going suggest this song and many others he did .
Whomever put that choreography piece in there for him was genius! Swinging his arms and hips in the back view had the ladies moistened. That was the epitome of sexy.
He did......he wrote this song in his teens. Produced it and played most of the instruments along with Andrew. This damn song is literally PERFECT.....RIP George ❤🙌
When George Michael left his group Wham he came out with "Careless Whisper" in July 1984. He actually won a lot Soul and R&B awards in the US he was even on Soul Train once. Such a great voice he will be greatly missed; RIP!
George was a genius!! On too of being a stunningly good looking man, wrote all of THIS!! And sang like THAT! Really not a bad cut on the Faith album. Try, I Want Your Sex.
Please check out George’s live performances…never a wrong note. Check out his duets with female powerhouses like Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Mary J. Blige. He also had a number 1 duet with Elton John. Live performances I would react to….Somebody to Love with Queen at the Freddie Mercury tribute, his entire performance at The Concert of Hope, anything from his MTV Unplugged session, his version of Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing in 1998 - Nelson Mandala’s birthday celebration. So many others. His Older album was his best in my opinion.
Take a listen to the amazing vocals (solo and background) on "One More Try" (from the 'Faith-album' and a favourite of my late dear father) and "They Won't Go When I Go", a Stevie Wonder song (from 'Listen Without Prejudice' Vol. 1)... knocks me off my feet every time I hear them! I'm sure you too... George was something else!
The great sound of this jam, drowns out the message of his heartbreak over the truth that he messed up big time and cheated!!! His guilty feet can't dance anymore!!!
I remember this playing in bars before the band or dancing began, and the number of women just staring at him hyper-thirsty was great. Gay or not, they wanted that boy. LOL!
My schoolgirl crush, I had George cushions, scarves, badges, posters and any magazines I could get my hands on, my walls were covered with George and Wham posters, I think all my pocket money went on George!!!
The video was shot in miami and George being half Greek had natural curly hair and the sun was making it fizzy, if you notice he as black hair in parts and wears a cap on the boat, anyway he said I have to go back to England to get it sorted by his sister who was his hairdresser and I will be back tomorrow, He returned 3 weeks later and they said we have all been waiting for you it's cost £500 thousand pounds he said well it's my money, They was supposed to have a bigger boat but had to cut back, sorry for the boring facts lol. Love both your reactions.
So Glad You Both Enjoyed This. I'm A MASSIVE GEORGE MICHAEL Fan Right From The Early Days of WHAM! His Voice Was TRULY AMAZING. He Wrote His Own Songs, Produced His Own Work & On many Occasions Played ALL The Instruments Too. A TRUE LEGEND Sadly No Longer With Us. I Hope You Check Out George Michael's FULL Catalogue Of Hit's You WON'T Be Disappointed.❤🥰💔
I'm with ya Mrs Asia! My sister always LOVED Prince! As soon as this man hit the waves and we saw the video, I told her she could have Prince! I wanted George Michael! He was my crush!! ❤😁
Olds Cutlass was a very good car. Unfortunately Olds line was discontinued. George is one of the greatest singers ever. Have you both reacted to his tribute to Freddy Mercury Somebody to Love with Queen? Phenomenal. The video doesn't get blocked. He was a great individual donated so much to hospitals, homeless, charities revealed after his death. RIP George!
This is where it all started for George wrote this at 17 some of his wham tracks are so good .... nothing looks the same in the light / if you were there/ Blue 👌
You guys should hear the rock version by the band Seether....... It's the best cover of this song ever. ......I know it's not George but it's amazing still!!
For the record: This is technically Wham. George and Andrew wrote it together, George the lyric and sax line, Andrew the guitar and chord progression. Interestingly, they wrote both parts completely separately, and decided they fit perfectly together. If you listen to the chords/guitar independently, it's kinda a stroke of genius that it worked so well. SO: In the US, it was released under Wham. Everywhere else, as George Michael, which happened after George asked Andrew if he could release it as a solo artist, which is the direction things were going in, and both parties were in agreement about it all. They did not have a hostile split, everything was understood George needed to go in his own direction. George was bigger in the rest of the world at the time, while Wham had a strong base building here in the US, so the strategy was to release it under Wham to give it more exposure. And it worked, and hence finding the video under George Michael's channel, since that was how they agreed it'd be released everywhere except the US anyway. P.S. The beginning stages of the writing and producing of this song happened...when they were friggin TEENAGERS. I believe the lyric originated when George was literally around 12 to 14 years old, going from a nerdy kid to a popular one at school (by taking off his glasses, lol) and taking on too many girls at once. lol.
@@ritchiec6317 I don't think so my friend. I don't recall the source, but it may've been George himself; Andrew *did* write the entire guitar line. Hence the explanation I gave; they came together with two completely different songs. I do remember it was on a documentary from a bunch of years back and no one has ever contested it. (Until you ;p). Don't you think Andrew would admit it publicly if that were the case? He's the type of personality that would, he admitted George needed to solo because of his composition skills.
@@JoinTheProgress. Lol no disrespect to you or Andrew but he just didn't have that kind of talent. Or he would have been a little more successful himself. But oh well it's a Fantastic song regardless
That's really fascinating if true. I've never heard - in the 38 years since this song's release - that Andrew had any significant part in the creation of it.
BJ. When you slap on that silk robe with candles all over the place, and Asia comes walking in the door. All you need is clap twice for the lights to dim, and some Careless Whisper from old Georgie boy. She'll know what time it is!!! 🤣🤣

Yea george
Your soooooo right !
George was the shit.
George michael amazing
RIP George Michael. One of the best singers in pop history. Outstanding.
Ah lions of Lisbon, we share a commonality in both music and football!!
Amazing voice, yes, but he did it all; writing, producing, countless instruments. A true musical genius.
This song was co written with Andrew Ridgley who he started out with, in a band called Wham.
George had the greatest 80's hair.
Hands down
True
min 8:02 Asia feelin' that George Michael vibe.... 🤩
Peter Doherty you forgot about Rod Stewart.
Sorry, but Richard Marx has him beat there.
George was supposedly only 17 when he wrote this song. Amazing.
Yes he was. It was before Wham! and he was working as a cinema usher and restaurant DJ.
Yes Yog was a musical genius🎶🎵🎹🎤
Wow... What a guy
Him and Andrew actually. They are both in the song writing credits.
@@Rage_Harder_Then_Relax Thanks!
"Freedom" song by George Michael is my favourite.
Freedom (Wham!) or Freedom '90 (GM)? I really like the former.
I like Faith and the duet with elton
I dont blame you girl
Asia said "Did you just stop the video for that?" made me spit coffee out through my nose. Hilarious!! And the look was priceless!
She had a smile on her face during the whole video except when he stopped it lmao
She was bout to fight him. Lol.
some of the looks she gives him are priceless.
🤣🤣
"Everything she wants" from the group WHAM. when George Micheal was the lead singer..song is fire..played on black radio stations weekly in the 80's
That and "Hard Day". I try to tell people her got some airplay on black radio but sadly, they ain't trying to hear it.

Should listen to the band WHAM that George Michael belonged to before his solo career. Wake me up before you go go is a fun song.
lets not forget the 30+ years of George. You can't beat him!
Thanks for bringing this back. I feeling this!!! Sign me up.
Unreal that a 21 year old George Michael wrote this song. Asia was blushing from the get go too! She had those googly eyes….
When George Michael left his group Wham he came out with "Careless Whisper" in July 1984. He actually won a lot Soul and R&B awards in the US he was even on Soul Train once. Such a great voice he will be greatly missed; RIP!
Sorry but Wham broke up in 1986, and Careless Whisper was on the album "Make it big" by Wham. 😊
Wasn’t he British?
@@TheChromanoisehe was born in England if that's what you're asking. East Finchley, London.
Wham’s “I’m Your Man” is such a catchy, fun, high energy song. (Wham is the band George Michael was in before he went solo.)
George was something else!
min 8:02 Asia feelin' that George Michael vibe.... 🤩
This channel was a good find! My fav song by him is praying for time , its the most powerful song ive ever heard
Seether's cover of this song is a masterpiece in itself.
Definitely recommend the Seether cover as well
I knew watching gearge sing dont let the sun go diwn asia was hooked
The "Faith" album was too good!
BJ face when that sax hit 😄
The live performance with George Micheal and John "don't let the sun go down on me"...priceless
The great sound of this jam, drowns out the message of his heartbreak over the truth that he messed up big time and cheated!!! His guilty feet can't dance anymore!!!
Even a str8 guy must admit: George Michael was extremely handsome!
I remember this playing in bars before the band or dancing began, and the number of women just staring at him hyper-thirsty was great. Gay or not, they wanted that boy. LOL!
I saw George live. Dude could sing, no doubt.
My schoolgirl crush, I had George cushions, scarves, badges, posters and any magazines I could get my hands on, my walls were covered with George and Wham posters, I think all my pocket money went on George!!!
You guys should watch him live and watch his documentary Freedom!! Absolutely one of the best voices and talents of our time!
Redo your Aretha & George vlog with the actual video, it's so cool & cute. On this one I smiled & chuckled at your reactions
Hey. I'm straight. I'm male. And I was like "look at this pretty mother f..... er!" 🤣
We ain’t know that until later, and it doesn’t matter anyway - he was still fine. Him and Uncle Jesse. Makes me wanna go to Greece.
BJ says ... "we gonna have a good night tonight baby" ... 😂🤣😛👍
React to Father Figure, Kissing A Fool, Cowboys and Angels.
One more thing, George and mate Andrew Rigley, wrote this song when they were just 17 yrs. old.
I think u need 2 hear Everything she wants. Classic dancing jam!
We had a Cutlass too, BJ. "Kissing a Fool" is another good GM song.
Dang girl, don't drool over George too much right in front of your man! 😂
your woman is a FOX... cherish her.
Your the best duo to watch react! Love ya both! And George of course ❤
I believe the lyric originated when George was literally around 12 to 14 years old, going from a nerdy kid to a popular one at school (by taking off his glasses, lol) and taking on too many girls at once. lol.
Actually andrew didn't write a single thing but George gave him credit.
@@Beach_Master He didn't
BJ. When you slap on that silk robe with candles all over the place, and Asia comes walking in the door. All you need is clap twice for the lights to dim, and some Careless Whisper from old Georgie boy. She'll know what time it is!!! 🤣🤣
