RIP George Michael. You will never be forgotten. Your music will live on forever because it touched so many hearts. I love this song so much and I'm so sad he's gone.
George Michael wrote this song in like 1980 when he was just 17 years old! 17!! He wrote, composed, produced and arranged this record and he created/composed that saxophone riff himself. After he finally found a saxophonist to play that riff exactly how he heard it in his head, he finally recorded the song in 1984. George can basically sing any genre, but I would consider him a soul singer. "Blue-eyed soul" but he has brown eyes! lol He has an incredible vocal range and amazing control over his voice. He is one of the VERY few singers who you cannot tell if it's a live performance or a studio recording. The richness and smoothness of his voice! WOW! Yes! Please react or just listen to more of his music catalogue. He writes, produces, composes, and arranges about 95% of his stuff! Some of his live performances that truly exhibit his incredible vocal range and I think you would enjoy very much are: "Love's In Need of Love Today" (Stevie Wonder cover) which he also performed with Stevie Wonder himself on stage at the Motown Returns to the Apollo concert in 1985) , "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" with Elton John ruclips.net/video/RsKqMNDoR4o/видео.html , "Calling You" with the amazing Lynn Marby (Jevetta Stone cover) ruclips.net/video/B_Z-_GpmPkI/видео.html , "They Won't Go When I Go" (Stevie Wonder cover) ruclips.net/video/oata-ksmxjg/видео.html , "I Can't Make You Love Me" (Bonnie Rait cover) ruclips.net/video/QbWJO8RMg1A/видео.html . My favorite George Michael song: "Kissing a Fool" ruclips.net/video/hhmj6Gm-6Do/видео.html , "One More Try" (which he wrote, produced, played all instruments, composed, arranged, sang and recorded in one 8 hour session) ruclips.net/video/bG5N3GC-m20/видео.html , "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" duet with Aretha Franklin (YES! Aretha Franklin!) , "Spinning The Wheel" ruclips.net/video/qSoMTkn_Qfg/видео.html . I can go on and on, but I think I should stop. lol Enjoy your GM journey!
Yes, I'm 70 and still listen to him. I remember when he won the AMA for favorite soul singer (against Michael Jackson and Bobby Brown), and favorite soul album for "Faith", many African Americans were pissed off that George a "white dude" won. Gladys Knight, Spike Lee, Public Enemy ,rap groups, etc. etc. etc. were ticked. George went back to England . He couldn't understand why America was so Black/White. I don't think he ever got over it. He had issues in her personal life. My fav songs of his are "Kissing a Fool, "That moment with you" but many others. He did duets with Aretha, which won the grammy for best duet, Beyonce, Whiteney, Stevie, Garth Brooks, Queen, Elton, but I have to say my fav is with Mary J. Blige from Stevie's cover "As". It was in a movie too. If you listen to his interviews, he was a very intelligent man. I guess if we look at it today, George was right about America being so black/white. I swear he wrote "Praying for Time" for the years 2020-21.
Boy do you love u some GM!!
Yep, you beat me to the punch. Alot of folks wrote songs when they were teenagers. Bernie Taupin Wrote "Your Song" at 17 that of course became Elton John's breakthrough Song. Paul Anka had a bevy of Hits under his belt most notably Diana at 15, then Carole King wrote "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" at 19 for The Shirelles. Keep in mind that this was slowly the beginning of George's Solo Career kind of like with Justin Timberlake with "Gone".
Did you see the movie Last Christmas. The soundtrack is his music. I loved it! I love him also. The movie was really good.. Check it put if you didn't see it.
@@kap6406 I remember Gladys Knight did an interview about how he should not have won. I haven't respected her since!
One of George Michael's very best vocals in a career filled with timeless classics...He had a voice so smooth that even whipped butter was jealous. Sadly, He got caught up in all the trappings of being a global icon, which ultimately led up to his demise. His music will be admired as long as there are people to listen to it....RIP George
Only George Michael.. could write a song this romantic and thought provoking..at 17 years old.
One of greatest singers ever. Listen to One More Try!
Fun fact here.... did you know that Aretha Franklin when she first heard this song asked who wrote it and upon hearing that George wrote all his own music, she asked George to write a song for her , but George was still in Wham and was scared to write a song for one of his inspirations that he had looked up to , that he said no . When he was embarking on his solo career , his first song was a duet with Aretha !
How about that saxophone? I mean DAMN!!! That is the most beautiful solo I have ever heard.
Даааа❤ и голос Джорджа ❤️🔥
You are in my Decade!! And George Michael is one of the GOATs of 80s pop music. He’s also got Faith, Father Figure, Don’t Let The Sub Go Down on me, One More Try, Freedom
1986, during my 10th grade English class, we studied this song as an example of modern poetry
I wished I had also got it in my syllabus
Summer of 1984 this came out
Wow
My English class in 10th grade analyzed Allstar. By Smashmouth. Shrek had come out the previous year. I wish I was joking.
cool man
mty fav man ..i rmeber when he passed.i went to his home as he lived half an hour away from me..the amount of fans that were there to pay there respects...was so emotional ..RIP GEORGE U HAVE BEEN LOVED XXXXX

RIP, to one of THE finest voices I have ever heard. George Michael, we miss you. --------------This is CLASSIC 80's. at it's very best. --------------------------MJL< 76 y/o
Easily one of the greatest voices of my generation. His death hit me hard. Always loved his music. He sang with the great late Aretha .
Just a truly great voice. I have been to a Wham concert as well as one of his solo toura. I worked backstage for many performances but I must say he truly was one of the best. Miss him....
This brings back so many memories of me growing up during the 1980's
my dude was catching those vibes like a masculine man like a boss!! in his feelings! the right way!smooth like the song!
I love George Michael 💖😢💔😞😢
Amazing song, amazing person, we miss you George...
For me, George Michael was one of the most soulful artists I ever had the pleasure to listen to, and had such a unique way to touch emotions we didn't even know existed 🥰 ***Loved him then Love him now, & will Love him forever*** 🥰
OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! This is a BAD jam!!! So SMOOTH! He was so handsome! I was devastated when I found out he was gay!!!😭😭 I remember people thought that he was a African American singer!! Great review. Love y’all!!!!
Rae❤️
Remember - he did win the American Music Award in 1989 for Favorite Soul/R&B Male and "Faith" won for Favorite Soul/R&B Album. Gladys Knight was being a big @#$% about it. He was the first "white" artist to win that. Then came the rest. lol ruclips.net/video/Ti7ft5dz888/видео.html
@@shayla-lee 🤣😂🤣 she got over it!!! He was phenomenal!!!!🙏🏾
True!!!! 🤣
Actually he was Greek and born to Britain....
The great voice of George Michael
this song is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
He was the best looking gay man on the planet and all the women were pissed. We all loved us some George Michael. RIP
Why gotta be gay?? Jk I feel the same way.
All the women were pissed? Did women used to drool over him?
RIP
@@ambientwishwalker8908 Understatement of the year, my friend :)
I called it the first time I saw him. But he was sooo beautiful I’d probably just sit and stare at him 🤪🤩
Brilliant talent!! I remember MTV playing this video constantly and so many of his hits from the 90's. RIP George Michael.
You guys are so fun. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
George Michael wrote this when he was 17 y/o. All time 80's Classic !! --------MJL, 76 y/o
Am I the only one who was singing along with the video word for word 😆❤️. This man was my everything in the early 80’s and beyond. His voice is like butter and truly nobody is like him. I will forever miss him.
ALSO: Listen to his song “brother can you spare a dime “ from his album songs from the last century; BOY his range is even smoother and better than when younger.
His music will live on forever
Love me some George Michael... especially off Faith album. I was under the impression at first ..that you 2 didn't realize the 2nd girl on the boat. But.. yes you did. You 2 are Awesome!
"Careless Whisper" is less for the ears and more for the soul!
If you haven`t checked out George Michaels paying tribute to Freddy Mercury on Somebody to Love you definitely need to watch it..Incredible! RIP to both of these Great vocalists!
I always thought (and still maintain) that George Michael could have been a good singer for Queen after Freddie Mercury passed on
@@timbrown1790 He was WAY bigger than Queen...way too big to be a front man for a group.
@@jgjg3848 queen is one of the most famous bands ever
Check out George Michael and Aretha Franklin's I knew you were waiting. Beautiful song!!!
React to George Michael - One more try!!!
George was a Beautiful, Talented, and Generous Man. 🇬🇧💕🎶🎶

Good Reaction Guys. I love the fact you do not pause it.
George Michael wrote this @ 17 years old and was the major half of the very successful Duo =Wham!" but as a solo artist made some of the most beautiful songs in recent memory like "Jesus To A Child" "Kissin' a Fool" " Cowboys And Angels" and "Desafinado" and a host of others.
Enjoy!
He was so cute.
great reactions , glad you guys let the entire song play out , again great reactions !
He is soo DAMNNN Fine...Love You George..RIP
I got to see him live in DC...freaking AMAZING..check his music catalog..
Loved your reaction! This is actually a Wham song written by George Michael & Andrew Ridgeley and was released on July 24, 1984 on Wham's album, Make It Big. 🙂💜
Actually it was written by George when he was 17. He put Andrew's name on it so that Andrew would always receive the royalties.
@@kap6406 Oh, man! That is cool
Absolutely loved your reaction!
this was an absolutely amazing reaction; best one!
One of the greatest songs ever!

He had so many hits
George Michael and Elton John, Dont let the sun go down on me, Live..
Its Amazing, trust me guys...
He was one half of the Brit pop duo "WHAM!"
You probably know their song "Wake Me Up(Before You Go Go!)".
I love Andrew but in terms of the music he was essentially Wham
Their intro lasts longer than I do! Just kidding, great video ❤️ also I am crying listening to this song right now 😭
My favourite George duet is 'This is not real love' that George did with Mutya Buena. There's no official video so best to listen to it from the Twentyfive CD (some of the videos of the song cut off the first few words) You will not be disappointed 💜
Yes! I have not heard any reactions to this beautiful song
You kinda gotta feel bad for the guy, he wanted to be taken seriously as an accomplished musician and songwriter but he was so Adonis-like, most just focused on his good looks. Definitely in my top 3 favorite singers of all time.
The band SEETHER did a cover to this song if you guys wanna check it out!
My first love was the love I lost I wish she would have stayed but she is gone my hurt hurts stay please stay I can't see you go stay please stay
That's a beautiful song
Please do a reaction to DEON ESTUS' "Heaven Help Me"! It's a truly great song and George Michael sings background vocals!
George Michael one more try please
If this song & video don't put you in the mood, NOTHING WILL....easily one of the sexiest videos EVER made...having Miami as a background doesn't hurt......
He wrote this when he was 17 years old.
Great song
This song reminds me of the movie "A Night At The Roxbury" with Chris Kattan.
That 80s Sax tho 🎷
Classic

This song 🎵is so smooth 😍and it has a big part in the Deadpool movie 🎥I hope 🙏you love 💘it 👍❤💙💜Enjoy 😉❤😀💙💜
You need to check out Rob Lamberti at the Apollo!!! he impersonates George Michael to a tee!!!
