If you want to see something great with George Michael - he performed “Somebody To Love” with Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon (the surviving members of Queen) at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. In my opinion, the only possible singer to truly do the song justice other than Freddie himself !
I agree! I always say…don’t even try to cover song by once in a lifetime performers like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, etc…unless you are George Michael. I can’t think of anyone today that could do that.
You have just reacted to genius. The singer/songwriter of his generation. You rightly allude to his voice and the point is he was even better live. You might want to listen to his performance at the prince's Trust concert in the early 90's, his MTV unplugged performance, including the beautiful " I can't make you love me" and the brilliant "everything she wants". He posessed a heart and soul as beautiful as his voice and was secretly very generous with charitable donations. Very much missed. Thanks for the brilliant songs you left behind George and rest in peace. Take care guys and best wishes from the UK.
So talented yet tragic. He struggled, especially in later years. George, I hope you have restful peace now. Find happiness knowing how much you were loved and are missed. ❤️💔❤️
The 80s is full of great hits! A great decade to grow up in for sure. Many 80s songs incorporated the saxophone, and it makes these songs so soulful. George Michael's songs are fantastic. The group he was with before going solo, Wham!, also had some great songs. Great reaction! Check out Father Figure, Faith from George Michael and Wake Me Up from Wham! You won't be disappointed.
I was singing along with this while in the kitchen, lol. He does a duet with Elton John - it’s Elton’s song “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” that you’ll really like! The video to check out is them singing it live. So good!
George is one of my all-time favorites. I'll never stop missing him. My favorite vocals of his are on "Where Did Your Heart Go?" He was in the group Wham! with his friend Andrew Ridgeley. So a lot of his songs are under that group name.
Wait till he hits the high notes👍🏽 He started in a group Wham as the vocal lead that was very successful then went solo. He stayed at the top of the charts over decades and had many gold and platinum records and popular duets with Mary J Blige, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. All 3 duets have great music videos you should react to 🔥
George Michael is definitely one of the best vocalists of all time. He is as perfect live as he is in recordings. Just an amazing performer and human being. Miss him so much.
@@Taraonrepeat The word “amazing” is so overused anymore that it no longer means anything exceptional. “Literally”…”seriously?”….etc. are other examples. I don’t for a moment question George’s talent. I just bristle seeing him included with far less talented people who are also lauded as “amazing”.

This was my go to Karaoke song . George Michael was one of my favorite artists growing up, as someone mentioned he wrote this song when he was 17, it was his 1st solo hit at 21 but he credited it to Wham so that his Wham band mate Andrew Ridgely would never have to worry about money. He was also very charitable and even secretly paid I believe for someones surgery (I'll double check)A beautiful soul. RIP always George
I am sure there are more snippets of other songs of his that you most likely have heard as well (Last Christmas and Freedom 90 come to mind). Hope you both dive further into his catalogue. While the name George Michael may not be familiar to you, he was among the biggest artists in the 80s rivaling the likes of Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, etc. Sadly his life started to become turbulent beginning in the 90s and he never really recovered, sadly passing away on Christmas Day in 2016.
I like the format of your channel. It's got a great variety. George Michael is such a legend. Huge artist (RIP). You can't go wrong with any of his stuff. I recommend Faith, Freedom 90, Father Figure, Everything She Wants, Monkey and with Wham (original "band") Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. George, Michael Jackson and Madonna pretty much defined the 80s pop world. That's how massive of a star he was.
George was a great singer. His version of Elton John's song Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me is awesome. Great version of it from Live Aid where Elton and George play it together.
Same here. Major metalhead myself, but I grew up listening to a lot of George Michael. He oozed SOUL left and right, there'll never be another mofo like him.
See the way she smiled when he come on the video Girls loved him lol Apart from that in my view he's one of the greatest singer songwriters from England.
Nice reaction guys! I'm an 80s baby. George single-handedly wrote and produced almost every song he recorded both with Wham and as a solo artist. He sang just as good live as he did in the studio and was a very underrated performer and dancer in addition to being a great vocalist. Artists like this are increasingly rare these days.
Crazy good voice!! Please do "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" and "Last Christmas". RIP beautiful George!!💜🎶💜🎶 Another really great song from the 80's is "Big Log", by Robert Plant, ex lead singer of Led Zeppelin🎶 This was Roberts first big hit after going solo...beautiful song you wont forget!!🎶💜🎶
This song actually originally appeared on Whams 1984 album called Make it Big. Wham was a Duo with George Michael and Andrew Ridgely. Even though it's George singing it was Co-written by Andrew so I get kinda sad when folks give all the credit to George for this masterpiece. Andrew Ridgely is also playing acoustic guitar in this song. When it was officially released as a single in some countries it was released as Careless Whisper by George Michael and some countries it was released as Careless Whisper by Wham Featuring George Michael
Andrew Ridgeley (not Ridgely) came up with some of the original melody and that helped this amazing song come to life, but George wrote most of the melody, all the lyrics and sang it.
I know some other people have already pointed this out but George Michael was a legend that often gets forgotten by the younger generations. During the 80's he was THE MAN, being in the company with and even beating out the likes of Michael Jackson, Prince, and Madonna. His name is often left out of the discourse surrounding the big hitters of that time, but he was one of the biggest hitters of them all! Careless Whisper might be his most recognizable song to people who are not familiar with him, but it's nowhere near his best song. One of George Michael's very best vocals in a career filled with timeless classics...He had a voice so smooth that even whipped butter was jealous. Sadly, He got caught up in all the trappings of being a global icon, which ultimately led up to his demise. His music will be admired as long as there are people to listen to it....RIP George
